It's our monthly trip into that giant, magical, Star Trek ribbon, The Nexus!

First up on TOS, we're talking about the unfortunately titled, "For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky"! Originally airing back on November 8, 1968, this episode has Bones getting a literal death sentence, Kirk and Spock shocked that a lady is romantically interested in Dr. McCoy, and a bunch of people basically living out a weird Truman Show-esque existence!

Then, across the galaxy over on TNG, it's the ahead-of-its-time episode, "The Offspring." First hitting the airwaves back on March 10, 1990, this episode has Data designing his own android child, Guinan explaining flirting to a robot, and Picard getting absolutely furious throughout the whole show!

The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support this weird thing we do—we couldn't do it without you!

The 90's was progressive, then 911, and the fucking internet happened.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy, killed by Xylophone Track from 69 Love Songs. Going forward his role will (regrettably) be filled by Shelby Foote.

The Fabrini and Natira are followed up on in an immediately post The Motion Picture set novel, Ex Machina. They are finally at their new world, Spock researches their history, McCoy gets v drunk, there is a bit of a schism between the people who support what K&S did in this episode and those that are very anti Federation.

Bones being very drunk is right where I want to be

Steve’s rant about this lady not knowing what a day/month/year is because her only existence has been on a ROCK HURDLING THROUGH SPACE destroyed my abs

Bitter sweet to almost be finished with TOS. I've been watching yall for years, when you started The Nexus i wasn't interested, I tried listening to one once without watching the show, loved it. Then proceeded to try the show.... now I'm a huge fuckin trek fan!!! Finished all of TOS, all 6 movies and halfway through TNG. Thanks gang!!! Yall have given me so many recommendations for these last 7ish years I've watched. Truly appreciated! Come do a show in DFW sometime!!
