FALLOUT (2024) EPISODE 3 FULL LENGTH REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Comments

Kelly Moneymaker

Thanks for making Monday suck so much less. ♥️

Ludus Aurea

The Water Chip being broken is the initial plot point of Fallout 1 and the entire reason your character leaves the vault - to find a replacement. It was a cool easter egg for sure, in a show that's absolutely filled with easter eggs. And like you said about Cooper, he's kind of the anchor character that ties the past and present together. I can't say more without spoilers but going from where he started (chronologically, the very first scene of episode 1 is actually I think set a year or so after the studio set scene. Like Denise said at some point they got divorced.)

Are there chickens in the game? Rewatching the episode, when Maximus inspects his armor and receives the message that a new squire will be brought to him, I can't help but think: "more chicken clucking in the background! Chicken clucking closing episode 1, chicken in the cemetery, chicken in the desert, chicken in the city..." They are like a permanent weird decorative element. Or are they there to remind us that Maximus does not care about victims, defending the weak, or justice? He let the chicken fucker go and it seems power is all he cares about.

In the game you get to pick your starting STATs before you actually start the game. Which range from strength, endurance, intelligence, charisma, etc. with limitations of course. It’s fun to see Maximus because he has low charisma in this episode 1: didn’t know what to say to the BoS 2: couldn’t convince the repair shop 3: couldn’t scared the scavengers lol Lucy also mentioned he stats in the first episode

Oh Denise! I am SOO glad you caught the tiny details of Cooper's family's backstory. The hint of a divorce, the fact that she works for Vault-Tec and got him involved... Over the next few episodes, you'll get a few more tidbits so keep those eagle eyes and ears open!

Emily Gray

I can kinda see where Maximus is coming from and I do agree with how the show is using Maximus' story with the Brotherhood of Steel. In the game, the Brotherhood is morally questionable. Maximus more or less grew up in the Brotherhood and was in awe when he first came across a knight and since has been taught not to question the Brotherhood. So the more exposure he has with the outside world and other people - especially like Lucy - at some point he's going to start questioning where he belongs...

The Media Knights

Wooow that's such an amazing easter egg, it also just goes to show how much love for the game is being poured into each episode. We cannot wait to start the games just so we can catch some more in our rewatch ahah. Thanks so much for sharing!

The Media Knights

Hahaah the poor chickens, you are so right, what is up with that?! Maximus is so interesting as a character because he does make so many selfish decisions, but yet there does seem to be some good in there also. Lots to think about!

The Media Knights

Haha that is sooo cool, we had no idea that even charisma was a STAT in the game!! Also love that the episode referenced that! Let's see if Maximus can raise his stats haha

The Media Knights

Thank youuu, it became so clear early on that there are a lot of tidbits mentioned in the beginning that will most definitely become relevant later so we cannot wait to see what this all is leading to! The plot continues to thicken with each episode!

The Media Knights

So interesting what you mentioned in reference to the game! What's also something we noticed is how both the Brotherhood and the people in the Vault are being controlled, just in very different ways - their knowledge seems to be manipulated and seeing how Maximus is gonna react to all of that is gonna be interesting!

Emily Gray

The 'controlled' information is is a key part of the story. Gamers already know the importance of it. You guys will get a couple more hints but won't see it until the last episode. It will most likely be something they will continue to explore in future seasons since it is a key plot point. Good on you for picking up on it! :)

Another great reaction... not sure what writing you thought was "poor" be interested to know... it is hard having to have context having seen the series a dozen times.

Nowhere Man

If the first episode was merely introducing the main characters, and the second episode was bringing them together, then this third episode is where each of them are tested by the situations in which they find themselves. This is when we start to see the main characters slowly rethink their usual approach to life, during their obsessive pursuit of a game-like "treasure". It'll be interesting to see if this trio ever realizes that they can better reach a shared goal by working WITH each other, rather than always working AGAINST each other. But, of course, that would require trust.
