FALLOUT (2024) EPISODE 8 FULL LENGTH REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Brynjolfr

there are a lot of vaults. over 100. and a lot of them are really really messed up

The Media Knights

It's crazy to think about! Can't wait to see what other vaults we might see in season 2!

If y'all are interested in learning more about Fallout lore, one of my favorite lore channels for Fallout is TheEpicNate315 on YouTube. One of the most interesting things is that the idea of who actually shot first in the Great War aka when the bombs dropped has long been an open question. The original Fallout 1 and 2 developers were open about who they though it was, it was the Chinese. However, after Bethesda acquired Fallout you could find evidence to support it being the Chinese, the Americans, Vault-Tec, or many other suspects including possibly eldritch entities. It's still unclear whether Bethesda considers this series to be canon or not. I personally think Elder Scrolls lore and to some extent Fallout lore is some of the most interesting in all of fiction. Especially in the Elder Scrolls some of the ideas they come up with are so creative and mind-bending. I recommend Camelworks on YouTube for Elder Scrolls lore.

Ludus Aurea

I really hope there's more Hank in Season 2. I mean more than just his like 14 minutes in Season 1. Kyle is great at playing a seemingly nice guy who turns out to actually be a bad guy whether it was Agents of SHIELD or HIMYM etc. Also this version of the BoS is crazy. They're crediting Maximus with killing the leader of the entire NCR as well as retrieving the cold fusion tech, and all that gets him is a promotion one level up to a Knight? He should be at least a Paladin in the morning, if not an Elder. Certainly an Elder if the other guy is intending on rebuilding the BoS.

Dom Peer

At the end, I feel that Max thinks Hank took Lucy, because the last thing he heard was Hank saying to Lucy “you’re coming with me.” Maybe in season 2 Maximus will be hunting Hank too, thinking she was kidnapped by her father. 🤔 and that’s how they cross paths again.

What a journey ! It was incredible rewatching this show with you. Superb reactions and explanations, as usual. I particularly enjoyed your analysis of Norm's character, Denise. It was very precise, deep and interesting. I hope you don't blame me for taking Thaddeus' side against Maximus: I'm always shocked by the selfishness of Maximus, who also cheats and takes shortcuts, while Thaddeus pleasantly surprised me, by his lucidity, his frankness, his humility, and finally he's super cute when he thanks Maximus for “doing him a favor” during their last exchange. And the actor is so funny. I hope to see him again in season 2. Finally, I miss your reactions to series, and there are so many gems to discover. So here I am, again, with my recommendations. Sorry for repeating myself (I'll wear you out! LOL): - BLUE EYE SAMURAI impressed me as much as Arcane did! Magnificent, deep, immersive... Top notch anime series; - FARGO is Breaking Bad level guys, at least seasons 1 and 2. A must-see masterpiece! - FLEABAG has a great cast, among other things; - I admit that I had a hard time understanding SHOGUN at first, because there's a lot left unsaid and it's implicit and complex, but you become more and more invested and... wow, I don't can't find the words...; - Have you seen THE QUEEN'S GAMBIT? - It's impossible not to love Jennifer Coolidge in THE WITHE LOTUS, whose humor and social commentary you will also appreciate.

Jon Lee

Skull at the end was a Death claw skull, an iconic abomination throughout the games. Barb may be in Vault 31

Jon Lee

Also Cooper seeing the bombs drop and standing there in the opener is him in shock that his wife actually did it.

Brynjolfr

it sucks that it is over. but now you can do a play through and talk about YOUR choices in the universe. lol

Brynjolfr

I am not so sure. I don't think she would have pushed the button if Coop had her girl on some visitation day. I think it's a fake out, that perhaps there was a deadline, and someone set them off before Vault Tech was ready.

Joey Cintron

I can't wait for season 2. Fallout: New Vegas baby!!!! Lets goooo!!!!

Jon Lee

I agree. I used the wrong phrasing, it was his wife's who said they should drop the bombs. Whether or not it was her idea or came from higher up has yet to be revealed.

marex

55:55 that is a Deathclaw, one of the most dangerous creatures in the game. And you're right, the New Vegas Reveal @ the End made some Fans jumping from the Couch :P

BERSERKER HALL OF REVIEW S

Holy crap have I been suffering while waiting for the final one 😆 ….love you guys though ❤️‍🔥🙏🏻

Vault 12, if you know, you know. I liked this show, I didn't actually watch it on first release because I thought it was going to be awful, took me a few weeks but I was actually really impressed. There's been a few complaints and claims of retconning - and there is a little bit, but the big retcon complaint is nonsense: in the game it's not VT and chums who attacked first (The D*******e - again, if you know, you know) - just because they intended to start the war in the show a priori doesn't actually mean they directly did in reality, those two things don't preclude each other. Also, yeah, New Vegas teaser at the end, and the Deathclaw tease, big hype. They remembered to bring the violence and the funny and most importantly it *feels* like the games - and that's key - particularly the most recent ones. A lot of people have said "herp derp capitalism" and they say it repeatedly in the show - but it's really important for people to get their bearings on this, it isn't capitalism - that's military-corporatism, aka what happens when the technocrats take over, which is why people have to fight technocracies with everything they have. It's absolutely true that the US has been on a one-way slide down this road for many years, though.

Casimir

That was a bit much lol... I know exactly where that New Vegas location reveal is. I'd be surprised if they didn't take it straight from the game. I started the first Fallout game (it's on steam.) and the first town was Shady Sands. Wonder what else is in there that's the same.

I'm all about your 2.0 Channel! One thing I would say is that Fallout 3 is amazing but it's very old and very buggy and glitchy... I just subscribe right now but I would have hoped you started with Fallout New Vegas and then get into Fallout 4... The thing is you don't have to play any of them in order in order to understand the game but Fallout 3 was the reason I bought an Xbox back in the day because I loved all Bethesda games... It's just my opinion and just a recommendation but I think you would have a much better time, starting with Fallout in Vegas 💯 Thank you guys either way... I'm anxious to see what you guys play because I'm currently playing Fallout 4... By the way, I also play League of Legends but I mostly play ARAM 👊

danzogonzo

Quick tip... Make sure your speech or charisma are decently high and kept up, if you focus on one type of weapon make sure you max it out and stay the course... You cannot reset it or take anything back... Whether it's unarmed, melee, handguns or rifles... It's not worth it to mix it up just pick one and focus on it. I always go rifles 👍 that's just me btw 💯 I usually build sneak assassin. You can do whatever you want, you can kill whoever you want or spare also. Nothing matters except the experience that you gain, to level up... I love Fallout and I'm glad you guys are getting into it ❤️‍🔥

danzogonzo

Also there are four different levels of each attributes and then go by 25s... It's novice, advanced, expert and master. 25, 50, 75, 100... Fallout 4 is different and almost the same... You will see... I suggest googling tips and tricks for each different game that you play because they do help a lot 💯 ok, I'm sorry to bother but help also? I'll stop 😁

danzogonzo

ALSO WATCH XMEN 97!!

TGrimace

"War. War never changes" It's a quote from the beginning of every Fallout game. It's downright iconic, actually. :)

eclipse

Perfect reaction to a perfect ending... did you happen to see the gun on Lucy's back in the last shot... it wasn't a tranquiliser gun... Max will think that her father took her... if you watch his face at the end... he is now forced into the Brotherhood path... thanks to Dane... but he is not liking it. There is literally so much misdirection, so many false flags and just choices that are completely opposite to the "tropes" here, this show is a masterpiece

The Media Knights

I'm curious but also terrified at the same time! Can't wait to encounter them haha!

The Media Knights

I can't wait! So far I've been a mix of nice but also a complete a-hole at times haha Love that the game gives you so many options in terms of dialogue.

The Media Knights

Cannot wait to get as excited once I know what that might mean! New Vegas is a name that I've heard time and time again from friends and people in general when they reference Fallout. Cannot wait to see what all the fuss is about!

The Media Knights

Sorry we can't pump these out quicker! (for now) We hope you enjoyed ❤️

The Media Knights

Love how they are keeping it so consistent with the games. In terms of atmosphere, props etc. Cannot wait to play New Vegas myself as we get ready for Season 2!

The Media Knights

Wanted to start from the beginning of the first person POV because I know myself and once I see new graphics that look amazing there is no going back. This way I kinda also get to experience the progression other players felt when playing! Can't wait to get to New Vegas though!

The Media Knights

Charisma is higher than average haha Can't remember my other stats though. Hopefully you guys can guide us in the right direction once Part 1 comes out!

The Media Knights

Love that the show references direct quotes and traditions like having Dog Meat. What a blast!

The Media Knights

Can't wait to see what direction they take with Season 2. They left these characters at such an amazing point for development down the line. After watching season 1 I trust them fully to deliver something spectacular for the next season.

The Media Knights

So happy to hear yet another fan of the games enjoyed this show!

The Media Knights

Wow what a fantastic comment, as always! Thank you so much for sharing your insights and also for the compliment of my analysis, it means the world! I am also so glad your perspective on Thaddeus is so different from mine, because it offered me insight I hadn't thought of yet. As you may have already understood, I tend to mistrust authority a lot, and therefore gravitate more towards characters like Maximus. Though you are absolutely right - he is cowardly, selfish and doesn't really think things through before acting. The actor who played Thaddeus did an incredible job with the layers and depth he gave to the character. And Thaddeus' reaction to Maximus is totally understandable, especially considering he was not yet in the 'questioning authority' stage that Maximus was at. That, however, I think changed when he realized he was now a ghoul. I thoroughly enjoyed that part of his arc. It's actually so funny because the chemistry between Maximus and Thaddeus was a wonderful and unexpected joy in this show! So no, I absolutely do not blame you for taking Thaddeus' side haha, different perspectives is how we grow! Also, as for your recommendations, there are a few in there that we have wanted to cover for the channel for sure, Shogun being one of them! Thank you for your recommendations, they are always on point, and we will definitely be putting them on our list to get to as soon as our schedule allows us haha. Thank you also, again, for the wonderful comment and support, it's always such a joy to see your name pop up!

Katieee120

Very excited for next season! Thank you so much for covering this show, was an absolute blast to watch it again with you!

Emily Gray

You'' definitely see some of them as you play the games. In fact, the 'theoretical scenarios' mentioned at the meeting are some of the vaults you can come across in the game....

Emily Gray

The part that chills me - no one knows Norm disappeared. Only Chet would probably notice he's missing and ask questions with what he's seen with Norm and know that Norm wasn't going to stop looking into it. So - no one knows Norm is in Vault 31...

Emily Gray

Also, probably an easy guess as to what caused the rift between Cooper and his wife at this point. I mean if wanting to nuke the country on grounds of capitalism isn't divorce-worthy, I don't know what is. And obviously Cooper ended up with his daughter because he was with her when the first bomb hit. It will be interesting to see how that played out and what happened to her since they WERE together. One would assume since his wife had inside knowledge of the bombing that they would have been prepared in a vault when it happened and I doubt she would go into one without her daughter...

Emily Gray

If you can, play New Vegas before season two since it will obviously be relevant for backstory. Keep in mind, season 2 takes place some time later than the events of the game and only ONE of the endings is going to be canon to the series despite the fun alternatives.

eclipse

Yes it will be really interesting... Hope Jona and Lisa don't do a Westworld... I am confident that they will get it right this time... also I am not certain that TLOU S2 is going to be as well received when it drops so interesting all round.

Donna Castellano

That's what makes me think that it wasn't Vault-Tec directly dropping bombs on America. They could've easily triggered the response from the Reds by dropping our bombs on them. They retaliate and that's what we see in the first episode. It's possible Barb had no idea when that would take place. But I do not think for a second she would've been okay with dropping our own bombs on the US when her daughter was with her father.

David Lonewolf Wright

Yeah, I don 't think Vault-Tec dropped the bombs, but I think they were ready to... though the shots from the first episode I didn't see bombs or missiles striking before the explosions occurred. The Brotherhood of Steel started as an organization taking old dangerous technology away from everyone to prevent war coming back, but over the decades they became more violent and conquesty. There is so much amazing lore in the games in books and computer terminals throughout the game. There are some potential conflicts with the established lore, but it could very well be integrated in ways I currently can not imagine.

Nowhere Man

What I remember about the nuclear-bomb explosions in the first episode is that there were no incoming-missile trails in the sky. Nothing came rocketing down from above. So, if the bombs didn't come from the sky, that means the bombs were already on the ground, and if they were already on the ground, it wasn't "the commies" who positioned and detonated them. The Ghoul did say to Lucy that she would become him. I don't think he meant that literally. Lucy will never be the person that The Ghoul is or was, but they will end up sharing the same perspectives and attitudes and survival tactics. Also, I noticed that when Barb Howard was in the meeting, she got a message on her Pip-Boy and looked up at someone hiding in the shadows. Someone else (who we haven't met yet) is pulling the strings.
