VAN HELSING (2004) FULL LENGTH MOVIE REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Comments

Melissa Creel

YAAS!!!! I love this movie so much. To me it's just weird and camp enough and Hugh Jackman as always, is great. But David Wenham is the one that threw me for a loop. It took me way too long to figure out that Friar Carl was also Faramir from LOTR. His presence is so different than that of Faramir. He's a great actor. This is a very underappreciated movie.

Such a great gothic horror movie. This really nailed the gothic aesthetic and is in my opinion one of the best modern entries in the genre. The atmosphere and aesthetic is like 75% of what makes these types of movies successful I think. It's dark but in a beautiful kind of way not in an edgy kind of way. If you two haven't you should check out the Castlevania Netflix series.

You kept mentioning The Mummy. Egor is played by Rick's good buddy Benny. hehe

JonasDoesStuff

Another fun Sommers monster movie is Deep Rising. It's fun, ludicrous, and worth a look. Just don't expect Academy Award material.

daniel martelle

Oh definitely. I think they'd love underworld

westtt123

great reaction!! i'm a new member so I'm not sure if you take suggestions but some movies I really love are The Giver with Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, The Guardian with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher, and Hidden Figures on Disney + with Octavia Spencer! cheers :)

Joey Cintron

I love your reactions as ALWAYS! The movie, eh not as much. I absolutely love vampire and/or werewolf movies 100%. But this just hits kinda different. lol

Corey Wynn

I'm a full member. Why can't I see the movie or barely heard? Am I doing something wrong

Brian Albright

You only have access to their full reaction when you are a member. You have to provide your own copy and sync it with their reaction. Hence the timer on the screen and the blurred version on theirs. It helps you get the timing perfect.

Sagitaria

No, their reactions are Watch-along, meaning you have to have the movie in another device/streaming platform and synchronize it with their reaction.

Magwin

Your reactions are so much fun to watch. I've seen most of the movies you're watching and it is a very nice way to watch them again, now with you, after many years.

Maeve1667

You'd like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and The Monster Squad.

Melissa Creel

I may have asked it before but with the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice out are you guys planning on doing the original Beetlejuice? You guys will absolutely flip over all the practical effects in it. And every performance is top notch. Oh, if your getting a Halloween list together be sure to check out Gremlins. It's a black comedy/horror that came out in 84 so obviously all practical and is worth a watch. Some of the dialog is kind of jankey in places but still a great movie.

Hello! I'm new but I've watched a few of your videos. To be quite honest I was bored and wanted to watch some reactions, and found you guys on youtube, you just seemed like fun! I just watched your reactions to The Mummy movies before this. Loved it! - I find it great how you react to Igor the same way you react to Beni in The Mummy. It's the same actor lol (Kevin J. O'Connor), if you didn't know. He's so good at playing that guy you hate xD but I love him! He is also good at playing the good sidekick that you love. He's like that in Deep Rising, another film by Stephen Sommers. You guys should check that one out! It isn't on The Mummy and Van Helsing level good, but I still really like it. -- As for Van Helsing,it definitely is a fun one! I still think the werewolves are some of the best design in any film/show. Badass! Anyway, glad you liked it! Thanks for doing these reactions, glad I decided to subscribe! :) (on a final note: it's CRAZY that this was released 20 years ago... I remember seeing it in theaters!)

Emperor Raven

Hell yeah it's a great film lol, love it to bits... I'm actually catching this reaction just now lol.

Emperor Raven

Melissa those are some solid choices for them to pick from, dang I haven't watched Gremlins in ages and I adore the OG Beetlejuice Beetlejuice... both would be a RIOT to see them react to! :D

Emperor Raven

Omg guys I had no idea you reacted to Van Helsing... HELL YESSS!!! Guys your post viewing analysis and closing thoughts were incredibly on point... this movie is a very clear work of love and passion! Soooo many details went into it from the incredible score (which you guys really loved) to the masterful set designs and detailed backgrounds to the rich and compelling characterization that brings the characters to life. I loved the monsters and their connections based on old world lore, Dracula and the vampires were incredible villains and so well done (very menacing and charismatic too). Meanwhile Kate Beckinsale and Hugh Jackman were phenomenal here as the lead roles (hell yes they SOLD the romantic subplot here), as was Van Helsing's awesome right hand man! I have A LOT of love for this film and I too adore the cheesy 2000's elements lmfao — THANK YOU guys for watching, providing us with so much laughter and great closing thoughts, and simply for enjoying the film alongside us! I have even greater appreciation for all of the passion and effort that went into this production even more now! It's too bad the damn ending always gets me and makes me feel super sad lol. :(

I love your reactions because even if the movie isn't the greatest, you both show such respect for the effort and love that gets put into actually making the movie, and you always find positive things to enjoy about the movie. Anyway another great reaction, thank you!
