Once I get my copy I will be watching this movie for the first time. Jurassic Park/World will be one of my favorite franchises ever because of the characters even characters that people don’t find interesting and the action sequences especially with the dinosaurs. Maisie is one of those characters that grew on me and I liked her. I know Dominion wasn’t what people liked especially them putting a locust storyline but we saw just as much time with Dinosaurs that it didn’t ruin the movie for me.

Edge

I thought this was easily the worst Jurassic movie. My family of 5 hated it so much we woulda walked out had we not paid so much money. But I’ll rewatch it with you guys hoping it changes my mind

The Media Knights

This had us chuckling for a bit 🤣 You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, that you didn't stop to think if you should....Hope you enjoy the watch! haha

The Media Knights

Really curious to hear your opinion on this one! I have a feeling this one will give way to an interesting conversation. Thank you for watching ❤️

The Media Knights

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Dominion! It's always a pleasure reading other peoples opinion on films. We hope you have a fun time watching this!

Please let us know what you think and listen to our post watch discussion. This is one of those films that gives way for an interesting discussion when it comes to how studios execute some of these films!

O.k. I know that this is sci-fi fantasy and such but if they are going to try to impart realism by showing they are using clean rooms he would not even be allowed in that room with the candy and his face shield would not be up. He would have been not allowed in at all. As someone who has been in clean rooms that would not happen. It gave it a jumping off point but it could have been done better. It had some cool monster sequences and visuals. Mahershala Ali is always great. And it was fun in places. But too many dumb people doing dumb things. And I know pharma is an easy target as is the military but I do wish they would do something not that for a change. It's kind of overdone. I personally just feel like Jurassic Park has turned into a generic monster movie. Which those can he fun. But Jurrasic Park started out different. I personally feel it's lost that. As usual, love you guys reaction and discussion. Top notch as always

Helion

I believe the Star Wars creature you were thinking about was the Ranchor. And yeah, I can see the resemblance.

fludevich

The movie was fun—it looked great, and I had a lot of fun. But the more I think about it and its writing flaws, the worse it becomes. Exactly the opposite of what I expect from a film. Great reaction, as always! I appreciate these honest conversations. Hopefully, Universal will get new, fresh writers. I spent €25 per ticket in Munich, and I don't think I'll spend that much next time.

One of the biggest problem with this movie and really the Jurassic World movies is the need to keep it PG-13. They could go hard on the horror and on the gore but they want a wider audience so the movie suffers. Another thing is the characters. I didn't care about any of them. Maybe Jonathan Bailey (the scientist) a little bit and the dad (i just felt sorry for him for having to deal with that annoying boyfriend). I wanted that boyfriend offed in the first 30 minutes. I don't understand why he survived. Some of the writing choices made no sense to me. All in all, it was entertaining to see the dinosaurs again but otherwise, this is a pointless movie.

Jordan Williams

Ari - The Star Wars creature you were thinking of that looks like the D-Rex was the Rancor

TheLifeOfAMilesBoy

Don't you think that would limit families with younger teens from going? Also this was already a bit too scary for me when i went to see it so in perspective..I wouldn't go see something scarier so it's always a plus minus sum game when it comes to which audiences they would gain and lose, it has never been a horror franchise either so why pivot now?

TheLifeOfAMilesBoy

I liked this one but it was slightly intense in some parts, however I still watched it a second time with you guys haha which was super fun :) the only reactors I consistently watch <3

bhargavi pba

No not really. Not every movie needs to be for kids. There are a dozen movies in the Jurassic series that are for kids. At some point they need to pivot because its not working. Being rated r doesn't mean they lose audience. They will probably gain more. Don't really know what to say to the fact that this movie actually scared you.

Melissa Creel

The problem is no matter how mediocre this is, it made money and as long as mediocre things make money there is no incentive to make it better. My husband and I used to go to movies every weekend whether there was a big release or not. We would just pick a movie and go. For one it's too expensive to do that now and more than not there is a chance it will be mediocre or worse and we can watch that at home. We only go for big spectacle type movies that really benefits from the big screen but we are even pickey about that. If the trailer doesn't really catch us we just don't chance it. And this trailer didn't do it for us. All we saw was "remember the flare thing? Remember the objects in mirror thing, remember, remember". It's just annoying now. Not hating on anyone that may have enjoyed the movie. We are just tired of studios thinking putting callbacks to more popular movies is all they have to do.

SirMadsen

This is my Imdb review. No, I did not like this one. 3/10 "I really don't know where to start with this one. The premise is so ridiculous it makes absolutely zero sense. A piece of paper somehow managed to destroy the entire security protocol of the entire site containing extremely dangerous gene modified super dinosaurs by being sucked into a single door that just happens to have a inhale at floor level. A security door most likely costing millions of dollars... I was ready to leave the cinema after the first five minutes. I decided to stay and all I can say is that it wouldn't have mattered. Apparently a pharmaceutical company can go inte a restricted zone, illegally and expect to get away with it even though stated that going there is extremely illegal and dangerous and if caught will be legal issues and jail time. As if no one would ever know that they went there even though the entire premise builds on a medicine that can only be made with live dinosaur blood from species that only exist at that quarantine zone. The whole "dinosaurs are limited to this zone due to climate change" is so stupid and the reasons given is the exact opposite of what's actually happening. The entire plot if this movie is so flawed it literally ruins everything about it. On top of that none of the main characters are likable in any sense. One moment they are clueless the other they are experts. Scarlet's character is a professional mercenary yet manages to misfire a gun from being tossed around a little stating that she has her finger on the trigger which is a big no no. Also, where is her PTSD? This is such a bad attempt at trying to revive the series with new content when they should have just dropped it until someone who can actually write a proper script did so. Maybe a 8th grader? They could have done better. I give this a 3 star rating where 2 stars are due to the visual effects that are great. Otherwise it would have been a 1 star rating. Tldr; Don't waste your time in cinema. Wait for streaming services to pay for the license so you can at least waste your time at home."

Kyutoko

Do you have any idea how many R-rated movies my mother took me to BEFORE I was even 13? I mean, I'm asking rhetorically since no, you couldn't. But it was a LOT. It was always funny to get the "omg cover your eyes" from her, but like... I still saw booba in Titanic, mom, I can see between my fingers, dur.

Michael G. Munz

While I do realize that getting new streaming releases out ASAP helps with the YouTube algorithm, I confess I find myself wishing you would space these out a little more so I don't need to spend $20 to rent the movie in order to enjoy a new reaction from you. (You're one of my favorite reactors, though, so it's tempting...) 🙃

Ludus Aurea

As an actual Jurassic Park/Crichton fan I knew from the beginning this movie was not only completely unneeded and unwanted, but it was going to be dumb. From the moment they actually seriously said "The writer of the original Jurassic Park!" as if no one older than 30 is alive. The writer of the original movie is Michael Crichton. He literally wrote the movie, by request. Universal and Spielberg begged him to do it before the book was even published. Not David Koepp. At best Koepp did some edits and suggested changing some things. I'm not trying to worship Crichton the way people do with Tolkien or Poe or Fitzgerald or whoever but be serious. Even the screenplay Crichton wrote left out SO MUCH of the book and he had to dumb it down on purpose, familify it, for the PG-13 rating. But it was still a competent, great movie even with leaving out a huge plot point that has since led to thousands of stupid conversations and stupid memes of people going "All they had to do was not cheap out huh huh." Nedry isn't why the park went into chaos - not after the first night. For some reason Crichton left the actual plot out and simplified it and I rue the day the movie came out and all these people who never read the book opened their mouths. Anyway.... This movie is very much the actual lost world of the JW movies. Fallen kingdom sort of tried. But like the past 4 movies they’re still picking and choosing things to bring to life and leaving other stuff out without really understanding how the story goes together. The tunnels running around the island is from the original book and wasn’t mentioned in any movie, only in Camp Cretaceous season 2, and that was Isla nublar. Same with the geothermal plant. The gas station scene was directly from Lost World the book except it was carnatosaurs in the book. Plus the whole story is built on retcon because they can’t come up with anything creative themselves. There was no Lockwood, no human cloning, no infinite new secret undiscovered facilities. It’s gotten worse than the Resident Evil games with these movies. Hammond and Ingen weren’t evil. They were just blinded by dollar signs. I don’t know why they killed biosyn off so soon when biosyn was literally the evil company from the very beginning in Jurassic Park. They keep retconning and jumping around, first it was deciding Lockwood was a thing and Hammond had actually been doing this crap stateside and cloning humans, or Lockwood had. And they turned Wu into a soulless doormat too. Then they decided "Hey, yea, so, Ingen had YET ANOTHER secret facility this time absolutely nowhere remotely near Costa Rica, where they made monsters too bad for Jurassic World." Get out of here, dude. Let’s not even discuss the d rex too much which was a weird cross between the Baron of Hell from doom 3 through 6 and a rancor from Star Wars. It’s very poorly used as an antagonist that we only saw once really and all they had to do was just run away for like 80 feet. And way too much of this movie relied on references to the books or first 6 movies. Like someone else said, the entire beginning scene was trash too. That was the first thing I noticed - dude just casually strolls up with a snickers bar, face shield up, and drops the wrapper. That would never happen, ever ever ever, in any clean room environment. Dude would have been fired posthaste. You can't walk around a 3420939329 million dollar secret science lab chowing down on a snickers bar. It almost feels like they were trying to draw yet another parallel to Nedry "Our lives are in your hands and you have Butterfingers!?" that didn't need to happen.

Ari & Denise .. Have there own Format to Post 📫 their Content & When - You will Have to Adapt to their Ways & Besides there is No Rush to See, their Reactions, they will always be Available for Later Viewing. Best Regards, 🌻

Michael G. Munz

Oh I know. It's their Patreon to control, and it's ultimately up to them. I meant no offense or vitriol, I just wanted to voice a request.

Ludus Aurea

Same reason Paul ws Anderson got away with 6 resident evil movies. Every single one was absolute trash but every one made a ton of money.

Robert Robillard 🇨🇦

No worries at all, Michael, Ari & Denise, consider each & every Request. No Harm, No Foul. Cheers 🍻

VirulentFactor

Loved your guys’ reaction gotta say they are desperately trying to milk the franchise as a whole and it kinda sucks because there is still a lot of potential, I think they need to make the jurassic franchise as a whole more of a fear factor instead of an adventure sequel and also just let there be dinosaurs, but that’s my take love your guys content

Guston Zimasheen

I cannae believe this is out already . Not that I've really been keeping track specifically, but it was still a pleasant surprise to see you react to this.

Mister Lou

I loved it, first time watching today, moments before checking out your reaction. I get why you don't like it, but for me, the family part entertained me more than ScarJo and crew's story. the boyfriend could go 1 of 2 ways, 1 he's the perfect guy and a father's ideal pick for his daughter, but then he'd be too good to be true and die a villain, or 2 he's more realistic to life, where all we see is the what the dad sees. until he proves us wrong, humble by talking himself down and extremely lucky because he's good deep down. like the whole family. but hey, like I said before I don't mind having differing opinions.. we can agree to disagree and move on, maybe another viewing would change your mind or mine?

Robert Robillard 🇨🇦

Just Watched Last Night 🌙 & I, Totally Agree with your Review - I, Enjoyed it, as a Dinosaur 🦕 Movie, But it had some Issues .. that Both of You, already Stated - for Me, it's Missed the Mark on Several Points - But .. in the End, it was a Good Watch 🌻

The Media Knights

You're so on the money with this! We don't necessarily have issues with remakes, but a lot of them lack a core, fundamental tool to make it work - a GOOD reason for it to exist. We had hopes for this, because, well - we love the JP/JW world and we adore dinos. You'd think they have the recipe to make something truly enjoyable and fresh, yet a lot of it was regurgitation of things we've seen a million times, and not just in Jurassic movies. We were a little disappointed, we won't lie. Did it have entertaining moments, sure, but a lot of it felt so hollow. Going to the movies is becoming increasingly expensive, and studios will complain that people don't fill the seats the way they used to, yet no action is being taken to take some risks. We need to remember the reason for making movies - it's not just about the money, as cheesy as it sounds. Yes, the filmmaking industry generates A LOT of it, but if you have the resources? It is absolutely your responsibility to take risks and give people something new. Trust has to be earned, and it's even harder to earn once it's lost and the people's disillusionment truly does come from a genuine criticism that has to be acknowledged.

The Media Knights

Thank you so much for joining us, and we're honestly so so glad you enjoyed this movie! That's what movies are for - to be enjoyed. Also your point does make sense - the ScarJo and crew's story wasn't that compelling lol. We'll definitely give this another viewing, just to see how we feel about it this time around!

The Media Knights

Thank you so much for joining us! As soon as we saw it was out, we had to jump on it haha

Ren Lichtfoot

I agree with the assessment of this movie. When I watch Jurassic Park movies, there's 2 types. The awesome kind that made me fall in love with the series - and then the other kind. This was a solid movie, but it was definitely "the other kind". Even the dinosaurs were a bit underwhelming too, which is hard to do. I took a 2 hour break then came back to it and, I admit it got better towards the end, but I never really connected with any of the characters in a meaningful way - not even the family. Delores stole the show, she's so cute and I'm glad she made it. As for the rest of the other characters - I honestly didn't feel that pull at all. All in all, it was a fun watch. I hate to do it, but I really have to give this like a 5.5 of 10. Ha ha. Speaking of Chris Pratt - not sure if you've heard of it or not but "The Tomorrow War". Hands down one of my fav Chris Pratt movies! I might just go watch it right now.

Dee

Aw man, I'm SO disappointed we didn't get a dino vs dino battle scene with the "big bad". I didn't expect to see a lot of the d rex but I thought we'd get it in a good battle. Im not a big scarlet fan so I didn't care to see this, but like many others, my toxic trait is coming back to this franchise with hope it'll be better than the last but I guess to be fair, I did enjoy it much more than Dominion.

Andrew Valdez-Cody

In regards to ScarJo's ethical slide, I wonder how much was left on the writers/editors room floor. There was early mention by the greedball guy about her mother intending to manipulate her but she shuts that down quick. I wonder if she opened up about it later, or if there was a more flushed out conversation about the availability of drugs to a broader range of people. I didn't mind this movie at all. I expected it to be a popcorn and soda movie, and I wasn't disappointed at all. Was it particularly memorable? It had moments, but not really, and thats ok. Who honestly went into this one expecting the spectacle of the first movie? Hoping for it? 100%. But not expecting it. I feel like after Lost World (Which as a side note, was by far my favorite of the books when I was young) all of the movies have been a "here is the big new big bad creature" film/ "look who got back for this one". Fun to watch once or twice, easy to move on quickly.

M@xR3acts

man, this movie was definitely better than fallen kingdom and dominion. Eww! But it's still a sloppy mediocre mess. I care only about ScarJo's plot with her team. Why bring this random family into the mix? Once again: we have a movie where the characters have to run or hide from the dinosaurs. The trailer made me super excited for the D-Rex and it's been hyping so much. WOW!!! It only appears in the opening and the very end. Fuck off!! What's the new dinosaur for the next film? A fucking Predator/triceratops hybrid??? That's all these movies are? Just combining the DNA of two species into one. This fucking franchise needs to stay extinct instead Universal wants an excuse to milk more money and it keeps fucking working. If you'll excuse me I'm gonna rewatch Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. Also the humor in this movie was awkward and uncomfortable. Did not care about any one. Please go ahead and eat these humans, dinos!

Chris VanLoon

I disagree with the review of the movie. I have zero interest in the D-Rex. Star Wars did the Rancor, let's not give it more screen time here. We did the Indominus-Rex in Jurassic World let's not bring in another monster. We got a full-on adventure of an island with dinos, and but so many people are dissatified; can't please everyone I guess.

Emperor Raven

@Thurein Minhtet Exactly so many issues… not only is the D-Rex an abomination but we also almost never see it! 👎

Emperor Raven

I feel your enthusiasm... but the story and writing along with proper character development is just in the pits of hell and pretty much boils over the good parts (their post-film analysis essentially lines up with this too)!

Emperor Raven

Yeah I was so disappointed with the crappy writing for this film and BARELY getting to see the star dinosaurs of the film/franchise (we barely get to see raptors, T-Rex, and the awfully designed D-Rex). Great characters with blazing chemistry are amazingly wasted on this crapshoot of a film that goes nowhere, I admit it does provide some decent entertainment value but I honestly just don’t care for it given the glaring negatives and would never opt to rewatch it lol. My girl surprised me with a date to see this and it gave us both headaches lmao! Oh as soon as I learned you guys reacted to this I just had to tag along and best believe it did NOT disappoint one bit! I am so happy you guys called out the shit writing and direction here! 🤣🤣🤣

ThomasMalatesta

I am one of the few people I've seen who actually enjoy all of the first 6 of the Jurassic franchise. The first movie was a genre and era defining movie, no doubt, that has never been equaled (within the franchise -- and holds its own outside of it). A lot of people didn't like "Jurassic Park III", but I found it to be a decent movie. It definitely had it weaknesses, in comparison, but it hit the right buttons in the right ways at the right times, and I honestly like the character arcs the family went through as well as the actors portraying them. I was not initially a big fan of "Fallen Kingdom" but once it became sandwiched between "Jurassic World" and "Dominion", I appreciate it for what it is within that trilogy. As for "Dominion", maybe it was just that bringing Alan, Ellie, and Malcolm back into the story line was more a highlight for people who were actually present and invested for over 20 years than for people who were only introduced to them (the entire franchise) over the just the last year or two. I do admit though, that they wasted the opportunity with poor writing and more reliance on nostalgia rather than further developing their characters in any meaningful or impactful way. They should have taken it more seriously and fully fleshed out a worthwhile script for them. By this time the entire franchise was well into being a formulaic caricature of a franchise -- but, still, entertaining, nonetheless. I will also say, though, that I think Claire's (Bryce Dallas Howard's) character arc across all three of the original "World" movies, both as action hero and "mother figure" were the hightlight of this movie. Her action scenes here, I thought, were spectacular for her character. This current "Jurassic World: Rebirth", on the other hand, to me was a huge let down. As much as I've enjoyed this franchise, I really wanted to, at least, like this movie. Watching it though, I found myself (especially during Zora's and Duncan's exposition scene) wondering, are we really supposed to be sympathizing with these cocky, manipulative, outlaw-for-money, mercenaries right now? In all the other sequels, these were the "bad guys". Aside from the sad backstory, I'd yet to see anything up to that point that indicated they were "good people" or worth investing in emotionally. Even aside from character and logical discontinuities, and the lack of character or action development or resolution, I could not find any personality to any these characters. You mention Scarlett Johansson as being charismatic, but I don't equate name recognition and past movie accomplishments as charisma. Unlike Jeff Goldblum or Chris Pratt who have almost too much personality, this film was just lifeless. You mention the family as being a distraction or afterthought, in this film. I didn't necessarily feel that, but still, so little actual character development or involvement that the closest I came to caring was the incomplete and insufficient redemption arc of the boyfriend. There were split seconds of self-recognition and appreciation for the "earned respect" of the father and for the family unit he was being welcomed into -- almost enough to make me care about someone who, in the end, was as meaningless to the resolution of the story as was the family as a whole. And, in the end, my first thought after Zora's final, "let's give it to evey one," had me less satisfied with her character arc, as immediately questioning, shouldn't Duncan be a part of this conversation? Didn't he just lay his own life on the line, lose his boat (still not paid off) and three of his own crew/friends in this expedition you brought him into? I don't doubt he would agree with you, but seriously, shouldn't he at least have a vote? Seriously. We're talking millions of dollars you promised him that you are so casually throwing away without so much as a "Hey, we've been thinking..." Doesn't really endear me to your "character" overall. I sincerely hope there are additional installments of this franchise capable of finding the personality and emotion that made it so great in the first place, or that they kill it right here, where I can view this installment like the "Godfather III" of the "Jurassic" world -- a final installment of an otherwise stellar (well, at least entertaining) franchise that I can ignore for the rest of my life as if it'd never existed. Sorry if that seems harsh. I know there are people who loved "Godfather III" as well. lol

Joey Patterson

ive learned to shut off my brain and just go into these movies looking to be entertained and not expect much when it comes to the story which is sad that we have to do that with these modern block buster movies these days

Dora

Hello. Actually, I'm new to this channel. I came here from YouTube and thought there would be a full movie like without blackouts and with full sound. Is it forbidden on Patreon?

Tyler Drake

curious to see where they go from here, sounds like a sequel is likely, there's still two other islands with dinos on them, the only question then is what would drive them there? Maybe ingens up to something maybe the mutant dinos were just the beginning? Some other company tries to finish what they started? Thats just at the top of my head
