Nah lowkey Lucas 😎 was aura farming when he checked The Jocks!

After having watched the first episode, I have a prediction about how the series ends: We're in the upside down, in the seat of Vecna's power. Holly has been captured by Vecna and is the key to ending the world Everyone in the party (Except El, who is absent) is trapped or somehow hindered in getting to Vecna to stop him. All hope is lost. In wanders Ted in his shirt and tie, driven by the tiniest vestigial parental instinct towards Holly, going to try and save her and the world. He trudges ponderously toward Vecna, newspaper in one hand, cup of coffee in the other, taking slow sips out of it. Vecna: You're not going to stop me, wouldn't you prefer this comfy chair? Vecna summons a comfy chair just like the one Ted has at home Ted goes "Meh" and sits down in the comfy chair and falls asleep, he's been done with the world a long time. El shows up for the final showdown, but when she screams and tries to use her powers, she discovers they don't work at all. Her psychic powers have been neutralized by the "Not giving a fuck"-field that surrounds Ted. Vecna opens up portals all over the world and the mind flayer and demogorgons overrun everything. The End

Congratulations on powering through this. Has been fun to revisit the series with you.

Nowhere Man

The big moment has arrived, and it doesn't disappoint. The first 4 episodes of Season 5 take the entirety of these dual worlds and rotates them on their axes. If Princess Bride had an (Upside Down) polar opposite story, it's Stranger Things. P.B. is fun and silly, punctuated with small moments of seriousness. S.T. is dark and serious, punctuated with small moments of silliness. I'm enjoying watching you guys watch this for the first time (knowing that you couldn't possibly have already seen it). S5E1 I was right! The demogorgon was controlled by Vecna. At the time of watching this episode, you have no idea (yet) how bad it's going to get. You might want to sit down for this (in the sense of being prepared for the worst). This season goes places that the previous ones never did. S5E2 Now we have confirmation about which parent Nancy gets her warrior spirit from. Other than Joyce and Hopper, none of the other parents were in the loop, until now. Now Nancy and Mike's parents know what their children have been struggling with for the past few years. There were probably many reasons why Henry/001/Vecna chose Holly, but one of them is super creepy. You'll find out later. That particular reason isn't explicitly stated (in character exposition) so you'll have to look closely and think about what you're seeing. --- There's no time difference between the Rightside Up and the Upside Down. Besides all of the previous evidence of people and things going back and forth between the two worlds, the military has built an entire base inside the Upside Down, and there was no dialog which suggests that there's any time difference. Also, all of the light flickerings are clear evidence that events happening in one world happen at exactly the same time in the other world. What confuses people is that Nancy's diary entries stop on the day El created the large gate that lasted two seasons. It's safe to assume that opening that gate somehow unleashed the tentacles and demogorgons and demodogs and whatnot into the Upside Down, which in turn resulted in everyone's sudden death (or maybe some people just fled Hawkins, as they did in the Rightside Up). Only duplicate Billy and some of his Upside Down followers ever made an appearance.

Got some catching up to do, still midway through S3 as had a busy week. But glad I can jump straight into S5 when I’ve finished S4. But just wanted to say again awesome work smashing through this series, really appreciate your hard work getting all this content out.

Denise's look when the Dr. shushed Nancy and placed his hand on her and called her sweetheart-----... Yep, right there with ya. That would piss me off...

I wanted to touch on the whole Joyce and Will dynamic. My son is right around the same age that the teens are supposed to be (15-16) so there are a lot of things that resonate for me with her character. I totally get the fear and the overwhelming need to protect Will, especially after everything he'd been through. HOWEVER, it will never not bug the shit out of me that Joyce seems to have zero qualms letting all her son's friends, not to mention her OTHER SON, continually risk their lives over and over again while she insists on infantilizing Will. For crying out loud, Will is the same age now that Jonathan was at the beginning of the series. The same Season One Jonathan who had a job, took care of his little brother, cooked breakfast in the mornings, etc. But Will can't even ride around in a truck? Imagine being Karen, even before getting mauled by the Demogorgon but especially after, and finding out that this woman who you let live in your house for a year and a half had been lying to you for more than double that amount of time and allowing your children to put their lives at risk every single day. I would be fucking LIVID. Not to mention that she skipped out on helping clean up for breakfast talking about how late she was when what she was actually doing was...hanging out with Hopper while Eleven ran an obstacle course through the woods? *THAT* was what was so important that she couldn't stay and help? (I know that pales in comparison to the kids being put in danger thing but I've watched the first episode a few times now and it really rubs me the wrong way 😂) I've never found myself saying this before that moment, but I was totally TeamTed on his "How much longer?" comment.

Austin Millbarge is the cover name used by Dan Aykroyd in the movie Spies like us. Great 80's movie for y'all to check out when you have time.

Nowhere Man

The "MISSING TEEN" "JANE HOPPER" poster phone number actually works when called. It appears at about 14:50+ in Episode 1 (on Netflix).

I may ne the only one seeing Ted differently. Yes he is aloof, and dry, but I have family members who are dry in rverything they say. Jokes in all. The comment about if kicking to the curb is an option that one ofy uncles would say as a joke. But the way he would say it people that didn't know him would think he is serious. I guess that's why I take some of what he says as a joke. And he did call for Karen and Holly when he first came in, and he did try to fight the Demo. He didn't cower or run away. Karen got a few more hits on but she had the "advantage" of knowing it was there. Ted just rounded the corner and ran into it for the first time. I still give him props for standing his ground.

This is straight homage to Poltergeist

I'm going to predict that Eddie is Mr. Whatsit.

I got that wrong. Lol
