📹 All Discovered Exoplanets ● 360 VR Video (Patreon)

Hi everyone!

The ones of you who have been following me for some time probably know that every year I create something space-themed. I started back in 2016, when I published an online tool to visualise all the existing exoplanets, called Exoplanetary Orrery V. Following its good reception, I made that into a "proper" Unity game called Exoplanet Viewer, which was released in 2017. In 2018, I started playing with 360 videos and made an exoplanet video timeline which, looking back, was quite rough.

This year, I decided to step up and re-do that 360 video, but at a much more professional level. This is also my first narrated video on YouTube, and it was way more challenging than I expected!

You can watch this 360 video from your phone or laptop, although if you have a VR headset you will be able to perceive distances as well. A Google Cardboard headset should work just fine. The video features Ambisonic sound effects with Head-Locked audio.

It was created entirely in Unity, and edited in Premiere Pro. It was quite tricky to get everything to work, so after a quick poll on Twitter, I think that one of the series of 2020 will focus on how to create 360 VR Videos with Ambisonic audio in Unity.
