After making two disaster seasons of The Lord of the Rings, Amazon Prime is now gearing up to adapt another fantasy book called Fourth Wing.

The story takes place in a fantasy world where war never stops, and people with magical powers ride dragons to protect their kingdom. These dragon riders train at a deadly military school called Basgiath War College.

Violet Sorrengail is a smart but physically weak girl. She was supposed to be a quiet scholar, but her tough general mother forces her into dragon rider training. That’s a death sentence for many—most cadets don’t survive the brutal process.

At Basgiath, students must bond with a dragon or die trying. If they succeed, they gain magical abilities. Violet not only bonds with a powerful dragon named Tairn, but also with a rare second dragon, Andarna—something no one’s done before.

She grows close to Xaden Riorson, a hot and mysterious guy who initially seems like the enemy. Over time, they fall in love, and their relationship becomes intense and sexy. But Xaden has secrets, and there's a dark family history between them.

While everyone believes their kingdom is fighting a clear-cut war, Violet uncovers a much more dangerous threat: the Venin, monsters who use dark magic. The kingdom's leaders are hiding the truth, and Violet must figure out who she can really trust.

This fantasy story isn’t like Lord of the Rings. It’s more in the vein of Game of Thrones, especially because of the sex and nudity it includes.

There are detailed sex scenes—not pornographic, but still explicit. The scenes describe physical closeness and intimacy with sensual language, including references to breasts, butts, and skin-on-skin contact.

The book also contains a good amount of nudity—during bathing, healing after battles, and post-sex scenes. Characters are often naked in bed or changing clothes. There is no non-consensual sexual content, and all the sex and nudity are used to build character depth and romantic connection.

There are no lesbian scenes in this book.

Interestingly, aside from Violet and Xaden, no other characters engage in on-page sexual content.

Now, considering how Amazon has butchered other adaptations, you might assume they’ll mess this up too—but there’s actually hope. Jennifer Salke, the one behind disasters like Rings of Power and Citadel, is finally out. She pushed the "woke" agenda hard through those shows—and now she’s gone.

Amazon MGM Studios is now under new leadership with Courtenay Valenti at the helm.

So hopefully, Amazon will finally get it right: a good story, stunning visuals, and yeah—good sex.

The Fourth Wing series is currently in pre-production, and no cast has been announced yet.
