TIFF 2025: 12 Movie World Premieres That Contain Sex & Nudity (4 - 14 September) (Patreon)
Content
The Toronto International Film Festival is celebrating its 50th edition this year from September 4–14, and the lineup is absolutely stacked. But don’t worry—I’ve done the digging and picked out 12 movies that might have some hot content, based on their plot, writers, directors, and especially their intimacy coordinators.
Let’s jump right into it:
1. Adulthood
Starring: Kaya Scodelario, Billie LourdPlot: Siblings Megan and Noah discover a long-buried body in their parents' basement, sending them down a rabbit hole of crime and secrets.Rated: R for some sexual material.
The director previously worked on The Smurfs and Ben 10, so I’m not expecting anything wild—but hey, R-rated is still something.
2. Eternity
Starring: Elizabeth OlsenPlot: In the afterlife, souls have one week to decide where they’ll spend eternity. Joan must choose between the man she spent her life with and her first love who’s been waiting for her.Rated: PG-13 for sexual content.
We won’t get full nudity, but maybe some tasteful sex scenes. Intimacy coordinator Tolmie Greaves worked on Smoke (Apple TV+), which had brief nudity.
3. Hamnet
Starring: Jessie Buckley, Emily WatsonPlot: A grieving Agnes (Shakespeare’s wife) tries to process the loss of their son, which leads to the creation of Hamlet.Based on: The novel Hamnet, which includes a few poetic, emotional sex scenes—PG-13 type, no graphic nudity.
Intimacy coordinator Miriam Lucia also worked on The White Lotus S2 & S3 and Dune: Prophecy—so there’s potential.
4. The Choral
Cast: No big stars.Plot: With the men off to WWI, a choral society recruits teenage boys. Music, maturity, and war collide.Rated: R for language and sexual content.
No further info yet, but the rating leaves the door open for at least some steamy scenes.
5. California Schemin
Starring: James McAvoy, Amber AndersonPlot: Two Scottish guys pose as a Californian rap duo and con their way into the music industry.Rated: Unknown, but intimacy coordinator Abbie Wallace (who worked on The Buccaneers) is involved.
So yeah—some sexual content is likely.
6. Christy Martin Biopic
Starring: Sydney Sweeney, Katy O’BrianPlot: The story of the most successful female boxer of the '90s, including her bisexual relationships.
Sydney will have lesbian scenes with Katy O’Brian. The team behind Animal Kingdom (which had lots of nudity and sex) is writing and directing, so expectations are high.
7. Easy’s Waltz
Starring: Kate Mara, Cobie SmuldersPlot: A struggling crooner tries for a Vegas comeback while battling personal demons and family issues.
No rating yet and no intimacy coordinator listed. But the director did work on True Detective—so there’s a small chance we’ll get something hot.
8. Eternal Return
Starring: Naomi Scott, Sonoya MizunoPlot: A woman closed off emotionally is pulled into a time-bending romance with a mysterious cartographer and his partner.
Sophie Cooch is the intimacy coordinator (Foundation, Mobland)—not much nudity in those projects, but the plot sounds sensual.
9. Hedda
Starring: Tessa Thompson, Imogen PootsPlot: A reimagining of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, full of passion, emotion, and chaos.Rated: R for sexual content, language, drug use, and brief nudity.
Adelaide Waldrop (Mickey 17, My Fault: London, Mary & George) is the intimacy coordinator—so we’re likely getting something spicy.
10. Poetic License
Starring: Leslie Mann, Nico Parker, Maisy StellaPlot: Two college besties start to drift apart as they compete for the attention of Liz, a hot middle-aged mom auditing their poetry class.
No official rating yet, but with this MILF love triangle plot? You already know why I’m watching.
11. Steal Away
Starring: Angourie Rice, Mallori Johnson, Lauren Lee SmithPlot: A teen forms an obsessive, sensual connection with a refugee taken in by her family.
Angourie plays a lesbian character, and the story is filled with jealousy, desire, and blurred boundaries. Definitely one to watch.
12. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
Starring: Mila Kunis, Cailee SpaenyPlot: Benoit Blanc is back for another case. No story or rating info yet.
But! Yarit Dor is the intimacy coordinator (Glass Onion, The Wheel of Time, Rivals)—all projects with nudity and sex. Fingers crossed.

There are definitely other movies at TIFF 2025 that could have nudity or sexual content—but right now, info is limited. I’ll update this list as more details drop.
The full premiere schedule with dates and times will be released on August 12.
Can’t say I’m overly hyped yet, but a few of these titles look promising. Let's hope TIFF brings good news for us.
