One of the wildest movies to hit a film festival in 2025 is Fucktoys, starring Annapurna Sriram and Sadie Scott.

This film is so pornographic and filthy that Annapurna still hasn’t been able to sell it to any distributor.

In this post, I’m breaking it all down for you—the crazy plot, the hottest sex and nudity scenes, and the real reason Annapurna is facing problems getting this film released.

What Is “Fucktoys” About?

The film follows AP (played by Sriram), a cursed sex worker in the bubblegum-trash world of Trashtown, USA. To remove the curse, she must earn $1000, leading her into the wildest adventure imaginable—packed with drugs, kinks, and unapologetic horniness.

The Sexy & Totally Unhinged Scenes

If you’re here for the 18+ details, this movie does not hold back. Here’s why it’s the wildest, horniest festival film in years:

The first 15 minutes already go hard: Annapurna urinates on a man in the shower, and we meet cops in full BDSM gear.

AP, dressed like a sexy doll, joins her non-binary friend Danni (Sadie Scott) at a BDSM den.

The two hit sex parties where they fuck and suck, and AP gives blowjobs to old men for cash—full nudity included.

Annapurna’s nude body is on full display in multiple sex scenes, with her riding, grinding, and showing off hot sexual positions.

AP does cocaine, fists an artist, and starts a messy romance with a cocktail-mixing bartender.

She shares a sloppy, saliva-dripping kiss with Danni.

There’s a threesome with a married man who cheats on his wife just to join AP and Danni.

A wild orgy during a sex party—filled with nudity, body fluids, and prosthetic penises—cements this as one of the sexiest and weirdest festival movies ever made.

Why This Film Isn't Selling?

She refuses to undersell herself – Sriram compares selling her film to her work as a dominatrix:

“I would never let a client talk down my rate. Why would I let a distributor?”She hasn’t received an offer that values the film on her terms and doesn’t want to compromise after spending eight years making it.

She wants the right distributor and audience –She sees the film as a “playfully subversive” experience meant for the “real ones” who will embrace its smutty, feminist, and sex-positive nature. She’s waiting for a partner who understands her vision instead of trying to censor or dilute it.

The title is controversial but intentional –The title Fucktoys is a “conversation piece,” and she’s committed to keeping it. She knows this creates an uphill battle for mainstream distribution, but she views the name as part of the film’s power and message.

She’s enjoying the festival circuit and building hype herself –The movie has become a cult hit at festivals, selling out screenings and merch (even making over $1,000 from a single suitcase of posters). This grassroots buzz strengthens her position to negotiate a better deal later.

She’s rejecting censorship and industry sexism –Sriram notes that many early financiers gave her “censorship notes,” reflecting fear of a sexual, brown, female filmmaker. She wants to release the movie without compromising her vision or self-expression.

It looks like we’ll be waiting months before we even hear about a release date. Honestly, I doubt this movie will get a theatrical release, but who knows? Either way, it doesn’t look like we’re getting it in 2025.

Mainstream audiences hate movies like this, but adult content fans like us live for them. I think it could do decent in the indie/underground space, but it’s getting almost no press despite being a sex-positive masterpiece. And with this much hardcore sexual content, don’t expect to see it on Netflix, Prime, or any mainstream streaming platform.
