Criston has to be the biggest rat there ever was. I might hate him more than I hate Cercei. Ive never seen a more hypocritical person in my life. Buddy has zero honor and loves to blame others like its his job.

Jaqen H'ghar

Everything in the intro is past stuff. Not current, just gotta reiterate that. Except for the shots of Rhaenyra and aegon on their respective thrones

Billie

otto on top!!

Billie

aegon can’t really be compared to Joffrey at all, nor the dynamic between him and otto to cersei and Joffrey. Clearly in this episode and in the last episode, we have seen far more humanity from aegon compared to Joffrey. yes they are both naive young kings but while aegon has done horrible actions he is a far more dimensional character than Joffrey who got excitement from torturing people and never cared about his subjects, which in episode one we can see aegon try to do. Aegon also did not want to be kind but as impressionable as he is, the moment he felt people loving him and giving him respect he raised his sword (and that says a lot and alludes to the lack of love and attention he was not given as a child. Does that excuse his actions? No lol. But Joffrey always was spoiled to a different degree and enabled in a different way to aegon). but I will say the greens are very interesting and entertaining characters to watch. Otto and alicent’s dynamic is just so sad and it was doomed from the moment he gave her to viserys and the cycle of bad parenting just continued from then on (but also viserys is to be blamed. It was too much of a burden on alicent that young to mother all these children while being pressured to play a political game with no aid from people who wanted the best for her but more the best for themselves).

Billie

seeing rhaenyra finally open her eyes to what daemon is is just so refreshing 🥰🤍😋 people can finally stop saying he ever loved her lol and if they still are idk what to tell them, he’s always been out for his own gain. Even manipulating her as a kid

Billie

Aegon is clearly crying for the loss of his son, his favourite child, and what the war now expects of him. I think it’s pretty clear

Jaqen H'ghar

Ugh the Erryk vs Arryk fight.. I knew it was coming, but still got sad. :c I really loved how Rhaenyra seemed to know it was Erryk though and wanted to approach, but Ser Lorent held her back (understandably). I also admire the layer of humanity they gave Aegon. Tbh, if my first-born son was decapitated by some turncoat assassin, I would be raging the same way. I wouldn't hang all the ratcatchers, but I would probably declare war too.

After this episode, I realized I don't have any characters that I'm rooting for. I really liked the scene between Rhaenyra and Daemon. So much complexity and history between these two characters. Daemon is loyal but cannot for the life of him take direction from anybody. Also noticed pretty much all the male characters on this show are made to appear unnecessarily weak? Not one strong male character I can get behind. Harwin and Viserys are the only two I can think of and they're both dead now. I feel like this show needs a balance between their strong and weak characters like GOT.

Sarah Rosa

It’s still Team Black babyyyy🖤🖤

Because you mentioned you enjoyed the theme you might enjoy this: Watch as Game Of Thrones creator Dan Weiss, Tom Morello of Audioslave/Rage Against The Machine, Scott Ian of Anthrax, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Brad Paisley, and Game Of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi shred on the all-new Sigil Collection Guitars from The Fender Custom Shop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i0a7RDPkM8

Philbo

i never thought id see much daemon slander across almost every reaction. its kind of insane.

Derek

I'm so happy they finally mentioned Dearon in the show!

a_daichi

The Aegon lover is blocked 🙌🏾

a_daichi

I don’t really get this weak vs strong male characters take. I mean a child was just senselessly beheaded… related to some of the male characters. I think it’s good to show their sadness and vulnerability after what just happened.

a_daichi

Also, have you guys tried filming in dimmer lighting? It'll help with the darker scenes

maria⁷

the acting this episode was fireeee, some top tier shit! 🙊

Rachel

I didn't think I could hate Crispy Cole more until this episode 😩

Nashi

Otto was insanely stupid to let his anger make him take shots at the King like that. You schemed all this time to throw it all away because of a King's dumb decision? And Cristen Cole as hand? Is like this show wants me angry, seems like I'm baited every corner. I feel the twins thing was weak, it all just served to make Cristen Cole make him feel better about himself, he wasn't going to get questioned about his absence that night anyways, the King did fuck all about it, he should've been killed there and then if the King actually cared. Daemon needs to do something right now, it's like he's the only character who can actually breathe life into this season. They already made the eyepatch manace look like a cuck with a whore, where's his drive? This should be his season!

neko

I missed the slightly dimmed lighting from the last of us reactions, it's got more of a comfy vibes to it. Hope you guys can bring it back!

𝕯𝖎𝖆𝖓𝖆 𖤐

The surviving twin was Arryk, Erryk gets his leg cut in the beginning of the fight, Arryk digs into the cut to free himself from being choked and stabs his brother. He then apologizes to Rhaenyra for trying to kill her and proceeds to end his life.

Anthony Castillo

Though Aegon is not the best person, I do think he’s probably crying because his son was murdured. I doubt Otto’s words moved him enough to tears

Chad-gon Targaryen

No Daeron until season 3, but Baela gets new show-only subplots? ESG and its consequences have been a disaster for modern media. In this essay I will detail…

Derek

Adam and Alyn are my favourites in the Dance. I’m like how they are setting up Hugh as well.

Tieland

Ser Criston Cole is the definition of failing up!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jack

McKay, Aegon didn’t put his kids in fighting pits. All we saw was one young boy who was Aegon’s bastard. The boy wasn’t fighting. Aegon was known to frequent the fighting pits and whorehouses, meaning Aegon knocked up a bunch of small folk woman. Just like King Robert in Game of Thrones, he plays no role in that boys life. And he certainly doesn’t make them fight in fighting pits. Misinformation my good sir. Also Aegon loves his kid because it’s his true born son and heir, pretty obvious. You’re a seasoned GOT fan, you should know that bastards of royals aren’t acknowledged, they are accidental births that are the results of the Royal being a horn dog and sleeping around. Why would he acknowledge and love a bastard? Ned treating Jon Snow the way he did was the opposite of how basterds are usually treated in Westeros

Jack

Can we please get a counter in your reactions for how many times you guys say the word rat??? Please?? Whichever one of you says it the least wins, whoever says it the most loses. Winner pies the loser in the face. Please do it Carter :)

Jack

Brigg, Blood spoke quickly and gave up the information right after Larys opened his torture tool kit. Blood, who is brutal and cruel himself, is no fool. He spoke because he knew how those tools would be used.

Jack

Daemon did tell Blood and Cheese a son for a son as the back up option. They didn’t show it onscreen and they cut away when they asked “what if we can’t find him” only because they wanted to keep the surprise killing of the boy intact. Blood even tells Cheese “you heard him he said a son for a son”. They didn’t misinterpret him and we aren’t making it up. Daemon just wanted blood spilled, he wanted revenge. What you saw play out last episode was the show runners creative choices towards adapting that horrific scene. Obviously it has fooled a lot of people into thinking that Daemon didn’t say it when the reality is that the showrunners cared about keeping the surprise. Rhaenyra calls him out and is 100% right when she says that if they couldn’t find Aemond then any Hightower blood would do. This show is made for adults (just like GOT) and it doesn’t spell stuff out obviously but it gives you all the clues you need through dialogue and details. Myself, I thought it was excellently shot and adapted and I think the complaints from some book fans are super overblown. It’s actually depicted more brutally in the show because they saw the boys head off as opposed to the books where it’s taken off in one clean hack. The books had one really messed up line of dialogue in that wasn’t included in the show and seriously, that one line of dialogue is really what has some book fans panties in a bunch.

kiiturii

erryk arryk scene made me cry man.. That was so sad

Jack

It’s funny that you guys can’t remember Rhaenyra’s two youngest kids names when they are the names of two of the most important characters in the show: Aegon and Viserys

Jack

Action Jackson it makes a lot of sense why there was only one guard (Cristen) up there. They actually show you where the other guards are last episode as Blood and Cheese are making their way to do the dirty deed. You just have the memory of a gerbil. All the Kingsguard were with King Aegon in the throne room when he was getting drunk. We literally see them all. Also important to note that Aegon doesn’t have a full set of Kingsguard because of the three that are with Rhaenyra. The timeframe between when Viserys died and this episode isn’t long at all so they just haven’t named replacements yet.

bateman bookworm

some people need to be able to know the difference btwn the book and the show. It has been stated many times that show cannon and book cannon are different, some people get so hung up on that

izzy

i know you guys really love and appreciate practical effects and destination filming so if you haven't, you should reallyyyyy watch the bts show for this: "the house that dragons built". it's just how they filmed everything and it's SOO cool, gives me old LOTR filming bts nostalgia

1999

Bruh Aemond has no aura this season

1999

Aemond in that brothel was looking like Season 1 Aegon 💀💀💀

Tyler Sick

I just noticed early in the episode Otto said Jaehaerys was his grandson. Jaehaerys was Otto’s great grandson.

Ash Hale

The scene with Rhaenyra and Daemon was fire. I thought we would see Baela ride her dragon. Loved that Mysaria warned the guards.

krystin-02

On second watch and foreshadowing is genius here

Anna

Otto is giving major Scar vibes this episode 🤣 I’m surrounded by idiotssss

lagunasr31

omg i cant wait for yall to drop episode 3

DeeJayyy

On a rewatch I just realized that instead of hanging all of the rat catchers why didn’t they just line them all up and get Helena to point him out lmao.

Taesbil

This episode is just Otto being all "I'm surrounded by idiots..." (valid tbh) Also yeah, I agree with Carter - Daemon really is such a wild card, lol. Yeah, Brig, I too really disliked those random unnecessary sex scenes in GOT, lol. In defence of the books, AFAIK (I've read 1½ books) the series added many sex scenes that were not in the books.

aqualuvrgirl

Alicent and Crispin sleeping together just proves that theyre both f*cking hypocrites like these mfs swore up and down that Rhaenyra was honorless and shirked her duties just for them to turn around and do the same thing ughhhhhh it makes my blood boil

DonDuh103

Ser Cristen Cole “I was abed with your Queen Mother”😭🤦‍♂️😭🤦‍♂️

DonDuh103

DonDuh103
