Uchiha Madara... What a reveal 🤯 He was mentioned a few times earlier in the show, but you probably don't remember when. It was in the first episode of Shippuden, where the Nine-Tailed Fox encounters Sasuke and says that he resembles Uchiha Madara from the old days. 'Tobi' had been fooling everyone with his act. I got spoiled and knew that it was Madara all along, so it didn't hit me as hard as it would someone who didn't know, but this reveal will always remain iconic. They revealed both Madara and who Pain is at the same time. I wish Jack was there to witness it on camera 😕

Sasuke did not have plot armor in this fight and I will die on this hill. Did Kishimoto need Sasuke to survive to continue the story? Yes in that sense you can argue it and that's fine but otherwise this is one of the best fights in the show in terms of strategies and they both stood an equal chance. Sasuke definitely had the elemental advantage but that was really the only thing. A lot of people also don't bring up the fact that Tobi helped Deidara in this fight by planting the c2 landmines for example to show that they were both advantaged almost equally. And contrary to popular misconception Sasuke was not out of chakra it's what Deidara wrongly assumed. He's fatigued from the fact that he just electrocuted his entire body to disable the nanobombs. So many Naruto "fans" just yapping misconceptions that they wrongly assumed or heard from somewhere and this is the most frustrating thing about this fandom

I remember I was watching this reveal like 🤯 even though I got spoiled. I was super anxious and scared for everyone at that point. But he is just like 😐. Yesterday I watched a few other reactors to see what this episode contains and everyone reacted so expressive. But ofc, he is his own person and we shouldn't discuss about how someone 'should' react. It was just funny how his reaction to this moment is completely opposite of every other I ever saw 😂 I'm still glad that we share the same favourite anime (AoT + Naruto for me) so I still have hope that this show has something he will maybe love

He's an Uchiha with a Sharingan and has a Cursed Mark. We've established previously that he greatly extends him capacities to do stuff back to back. Sasuke has never stated that he was out of Chakra it was Deidara's assumption he's just physically tired. And no he does not do less in an upcoming fight.

Im sure they dont read these but maybe 1 does, i forget who said theyve seen the show before. To summon a creature you need a contract, like Naruto did with Jiraya where you use your own blood to mark a scroll (The big one jiraya carries). Your blood can summon any animal you are contracted with and Suigetsu used Sasukes blood to summon the snake who was carrying Sasuke.

I think the point is that he fundamentally is not a fan of the world and every power that is introduced he finds weird. I think that's the block that makes him disconnect with the more emotional stuff and the filler and repeated scenes do not help. All of this is fine. I'm still enjoying Brig and McKay fanboying over characters and scenes. Carter is there is the representative guy that is not into this show and offers a different take I guess

Agreed. Watching it through them, I can see all the flaws very clearly, but nothing can take away how much it matters to me. Very few animes make me feel this type of way about their characters. The show just feels like home to me. Also, shoutout to Jiraiya sensei, one of my favourite characters in all of anime. Looking so forward to certain arcs in our future.

AoT is in a league of its own. It doesn't have a bad episode and it is one of the best stories ever told. But still, Naruto made me feel more emotions and even though it has some pretty evident flaws those emotions alone made it share my top 1 anime place with AoT. Eren is one of the best written characters in anime and Naruto is the only anime that had characters with comparable complexity (not counting mangas like Berserk that has one of the best written characters).

Maybe we should move this convo in AoT comment section but I don't agree. Yes, maybe Naruto has more amazingly written characters but that is because it has more characters overall. Don't forget Reiner, Armin, Erwin, Jean... Everyone is well written in AoT. Naruto on the other hand has characters who were neglected and underdeveloped and that's a fact

I mean the problem is that the jutsu is never fully explained. The substitution is supposed to be sooo basic that it’s taught to 7 year old Genin in the academy yet it can be used to bail you out of the most deadly attacks possible. If it can save u from literally anything and doesn’t cost barely any chakra to use why wouldn’t a ninja spam it every single time they are attacked? Why would anyone ever take damage if they can always just use substitution. It’s used as a plot device to where it becomes randomized when a character is going to take damage or not.

As a first time Naruto watcher I gotta say you guys are not giving enough grace lmao. The show is JUST now getting really good imo, and there’s just way too much negativity in here. Do you think that will make Carter like the show more all of the sudden? Like I actually agree with Pains theme coming in at a really weird time, and I’m sure in hindsight you guys all know what epic future moments are in store with it, but as a first time viewer cutting from the cicadas to pains theme is really disjointed. If you guys want to be patient and encouraging I think that would have a much more positive impact than all this negativity.

Suigetsu (water guy) summoned the snake (sasuke happens to be inside of him) using Sasuke's blood.... from the snake dimension. Just like Naruto/Jiraiya can use their own blood for a summoning jutsu and summon Gamabunta....from the frog dimension. I hope that clears this up!

Hard agree on this, I know I’m far from the only one I deleted an earlier comment I made — I don’t like overhyping future stuff and I tend to avoid commenting anyway. Carter’s complaints have been consistent and even as someone who loves Naruto for the peaks, I agree with most of them. I understand wanting a show you love to be equally appreciated by others, but it’s important to let him react without scrutinizing everything he says. The last thing we should all want is for him to overthink/not display his genuine reactions. Let the show cook guys, that’s all I can say. As a first time watcher of Naruto I’ve been watching every reaction and I’ll say this is the first time I can actually see the vision of all of the “so close” comments, it’s actually starting to get good and I’m looking forward to what comes next. That being said, it does NOT excuse the bullshit of the first 200+ episodes that was genuinely painful to get through. Up to this point it’s a 6.5-7. The 3 peaks for me have been Rock Lee vs Gaara, end of Og Naruto vs Sasuke, and the Shikamaru stuff earlier. Those moments were an 8.5-8.9 individually. There has just been so much mid that it’s almost mind numbing, so overall a 7 is the highest it could realistically be. That being said, of the 200+ episodes I’ve watched so far this is the FIRST time a part of me is actively wanting to continue and that’s good sign. I don’t think Naruto can ever be over a 9 and I’m a bit worried that there are still hundreds of episodes left, but I can definitely see the quality on the horizon

Okay okay I think that’s fair, I would say some of those mid moments I probably enjoyed more, such as rock lee/gaara vs kimimaro, zabuzas death, Sasuke vs Orchimaru in the forest of death, naruto vs gaara, and even sasori vs chiyo was pretty solid to me. That said I get it, this rewatch has been tough at times, when I rewatched it my ex a few years ago I would just skip over stuff, without doing that there’s definitely been some very tough moments especially with pacing

I binged this show 2 years ago and I didn't really notice the pacing problem and was interested from the start. I’m an absolute Naruto glazer, and I always get a bit sad when first-time watchers don’t enjoy the show (which is totally fine). But as I said at the beginning, I felt like they were hyped enough.

I feel the same as Brig. The fight may not be one of the best, but I still think it's pretty underrated. It has 10/10 animation, Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, great choreography, and most importantly for me, fight IQ. Sasuke has proven his incredible fight IQ since OG Naruto, but Deidara is always so underrated. He outplayed the Kazekage like it was nothing, and for a bomb terrorist, it’s extremely difficult not to kill your enemy. Yet he managed to outsmart & capture him with this handicap without a scratch. RIP
