Shadow

This episode was so good

Shadow

They did more than I ever imagined this episode compared to reading this in the manwha. The added fight scenes cooked

Shadow

Peak Leveling

Shadow

So glad they used the name Tusk. My boy

Zipzzty

Fr thought they were going to use fang

Zipzzty

Yeah i remember this in the manhwa

Zipzzty

GOAT LEVELING

Shadow

Sameeee

Fernando

Made it just in time again

Zeusy

Yes sir! Was looking forward to this. Was genuinely holding on watching it until this reaction

BigManSirob

I think Zipzzty might like Solo Leveling lol

hugoruix

Boss: *Blows up the whole room and sets it aflame* Jinwoo: Jokes on you, I'm aura farming with this shit

Shadow

In the manwha manger woo says Jin woo showed powers beyond that of an S rank but they changed it to that of a S rank now. Not that it really matters

Shadow

How could u not tho😂

Shadow

The purple magic for Jin woo is chefs kiss

Riley

I think the fact that the "Ultimate Weapon” stated he couldn’t solo a high A-rank dungeon makes up for it in terms of scaling. That was PEAK Solo Leveling

Shadow

I agree. There’s enough context in the episode from everyone saying he’s doing unimaginable things

Zipzzty

I think so too 😭

GreetswithJudgement

I feel like the guild master is OP and possibly playing cool. There is definitely more to him.

sean cress

noticed that as well it kinda irked me

James

Jinwoo or throfinn with the daggers?

Nah I’d win

Jinwoo obviously low diffs Throfinn, but without powers Thorfinn wins due to his experience fighting actual humans

Shadow

No powers Thorfinn but with powers definitely Jin woo😂(my dagger goats)

Justin Rosario

this is the best part of my saturdays.

Hector

I knew the eye merchant comment was coming 🤣🤣

Nah I’d win

Thorfinn’s stance with both daggers too cold 😮‍💨

Hector

The purple shadows was something I was waiting forrr!!!

kai

BIG TUSK AND NOT THE LITTLE ONE

Yuion

Im overall very happy with the episode. I cant expect a mahoraga kind of deal with almost the entire episode with very costly unreal animation but what we get here is really good. The cgi was used for dialog or scenes in between and the key scenes are made just that much more impressive. A1 really got the dynamic camera work down. Good job A1

kai

be so fr……💀

Riley

I thought the Guild Master was going to brush it off as being an easy task, but I guess Sung Jin Woo really is just him.

T.Yaseen

Peak fight, Igris aura when fighting is so unmatched too, it's always a great episode when we get to see Igris fighting.

Maj

The system thing is so intriguing man, I want to learn more about it ASAP

Zipzzty

Jinwoo solos the verse I Love Thorfinn though he one of the goats

Nix

Jinwoo so HIM he even have his own verified tiktok account lol

rvsty

I just finished reading the whole manhwa few days ago, the title of this anime is literally the whole manga "SOLO" levelling.

Qhoa

W

Shadow

Such an enjoyable read

rvsty

it was amazing, sad that ended it there

Frizen

I enjoy the show but it's getting kind of stale with him never struggling anymore. This fight had crazy build up and he basically just no diffs the guy.

Shadow

Do u know there is a additional story going on Solo leveling Ragnarok? And the ending of the main series was surprising af(no spoilers) I read it so fast. And ofc the story started as novels

rvsty

no' i didnt i thought that was it, ill check it out later

goldleader42

VA Hwang Dongsoo = Sukuna (JUJUTSU KAISEN) Woo Jinchul = Saitama (One-Punch Man) and Yuutarou Kindaichi (HAIKYU!!) Cha Hae-In = Kanao Tsuyuri (Demon Slayer) and Reze (Chainsaw Man) Sung Il-Hwan = Ging Freecss (Hunter x Hunter), Yamato (Naruto Shippuden), and Deep Sea King (One-Punch Man) Choi Jong-In = Enmu (Demon Slayer)

Kale

lmao it had like 2 moments to build it up and we saw him easily no diff his main gaurs last episode c: and that's also cause Tusk is WEAK asf in comparison to things that actually make jinwoo struggle

TT1000

The anime at times I find goes beyond what some of the manhwa did, action wise. Having read it all I didn’t think I would enjoy it this much. I knew they (A1) had to do that phenomenal art and action justice… and I feel at times they surpass it. The action I mean.

Kale

all the guildmasters are S rank (Besides maybe some of the eaper guild i dont really rememeber them but the guildmasters are no joke

TT1000

Kindaichi and Saitama have the same VA!! Awesome

AnonX

Action-wise it has been amazing, I didn't think that it would look this good. I do feel a bit bothered that there's some information here and there that I think it'd be important to add and they haven't. From the top of my head, I can think of one that shows up during this fight and they didn't add to the episode. It's okay tho, I'm guessing that they'll sprinkle it a bit more here and there in the next episodes until the end of the season.

Daaylen Watson

The whole last season was build up, I mean this is a power fantasy show.

Seth Aasland

obsessed with Igris in purple

Frizen

He easily no diffed the Ice Elves but still had to jump the boss with Igris and Iron and on top of that couldn't extract him. This fight definitely had more build up than that one especially considered they said it's close to an S rank gate and also had another S rank hunter enter the gate. It felt like it was set up for him to finally need help but bro solos him and is literally aura farming and emoting on dude during the fight. The A rank guy showing up made him sweat more than the boss 🤣

Shadow

After ice elf gate and receiving levels & upgrades from that bro went a farmed the F out of levels in the demon castle Jin woo the type to over level his stats in limgrave before moving on to Liurnia

Michael H

Damn, they are really going all out with the choreography. I’m liking it more with every episode.

Fira

The show so far is only the view of Korea, thats why people are saying he isnt the strongest, there are still the other countries especially the US with that big military budget ;) ofc they would have crazy hunters in this world too

Cannon Andrus

I agree, I think gojo is a better character for now though

Dakota

Yessss boys lol I'm as excited for you guys to see what else happens in this as I am for the Shippuden reactions. So sick

Nope

can sung go through his infinity

Ante

I caved guys! I read it all...and it was glorious! No regrets.

Shadow

Ending is wild(no spoilers) and veryy enjoyable read

Zeusy

You read the side stories too??? They good as well

Thomas Holman

There’s still so much more to come fellas! Still somewhat early in the world building.

intra101

Can't wait for you guys to see where this show goes. I read the entire manhwa right after ep 1 released and before ep 2 came out, it's so fucking good.

Jmann

Where’s Invincible, William?

Yo Dani

You guys are not ready xd all im gonna say is "Hawaii" haha xd (the manga readers will know xd)

Jacob Goldsmith

Don’t remember the manhwa that well been a couple years but totally remember so much more in that fight and scene they cut out and esp the ending with them seeing him thats new i think

Yannick Schwarz

I can't wait for the day when studio gek finally uploads....[Title card]

Kim Jong Un

The manhwa readers don’t know what youre talking about

Yo Dani

You should tho. Call him big Daddy

Madjoe

to the discussion in the beginning: I think Jin woo is way shallower than Gojo. They gave Gojo much more depth with the sentence "Are you the strongest because you're Satoru Gojo? Or are you Satoru Gojo because you're the strongest?" in Season 2 of JJK I think.

KrispyKenny

yeah jinwoo is a bit too "stoic" for me. i dont like the "cool and strong" archetype as much as other people do unless they have inner dialogue that expands their personality (not just strategizing against enemies)

BROCODEDUDE

Didn't they drop Invincible due to copyright issues?

Marlon

neither of them are 'deep' in the slightest lmfao

E

I’m not gonna lie Gojo is a way better character than Jin woo and it’s not close

Clair de Lune

Solo Leveling is entertaining and enjoyable as a feel-good read, but it's a power fantasy at heart. Jinwoo's got the personality of a rock throughout. But it's not meant to be a deep show anyways so I just enjoy it for what it is.

Frizen

I don't know man, overleveling and using a bunch of summons and mimic tear (Igris) in Elden Ring would get you placed on fraud watch 🤣

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! Epic scenes. Love it when he shows off.

E

The only thing Jin woo is better than Gojo in is aura.

Aegean

God damn this anime is good! 🔥🔥🔥

Connor O'Hara

Brig needs to keep growing out the mustache until he looks like Guy Pearce in the Brutalist

E L

No

Moon

I literally have no words for how amazing the choreography was in this episode. It's actually insane. One thing to note would probably be that Kargalgan did mention something else when he was having a crisis and started glitching. In the manhwa, he said something really specific, but the speech bubble glitched sooo bad that we as readers could barely see the word HAHA Also, Jinwoo is pretty much immune to all poisons and abnormal effects that are inflicted on him by someone else (this includes curses). It's the passive skill he got as a reward for surviving the Double Dungeon in the first two episodes of season 1, if y'all don't remember:)

Moon

Another thing that was different from the manhwa was the part where Jinwoo is facing Kargalgan's enlarged size. He actually says "I had a bad experience with giants before... Not this again." which refers to the Double Dungeon when he got tortured and killed by all those gigantic statues. Just a slight difference!

Jezza

XD

Jezza

W, just Happy they took off one important line from kargalgan to spice things UPPP

Nah I’d win

It got changed sure, but it still refers to them.

Nah I’d win

I like Gojo’s personality far better than Jin Woo’s since he’s just a really empty and badly written character that we only enjoy when he goes insane in the fights outside of that nobody cares about him as a character.

jeekolo

I promise this is all of solo leveling I’ve seen but I swear if the captain of this raid gets the Zushi treatment I’ll be irate

Unlucky Trandon

Sorry but the ending was ass. I love solo leveling and I’m on my 4th reread but that ending was genuinely one of the worst endings I’ve ever read. I’m obviously not going to spoil why it’s ass but I haven’t read the side stories or sequel yet so I don’t know if it gets better but planning to read them during this read through.

Shadow

I think both gojo and jinwoo suffer a lot from people completely blowing the “they’re not deep characters” out of the water. I understand their not someone like Thorfinn but some people start to get that impression they aren’t meant to be that deep and become blind to many of the nuances or intricacies in their story

Shadow

I mean I could see how it ruffles some feathers but don’t understand saying it’s ass at all. I was shocked at first I tho think it’s supposed to give u that feeling

Moon

@long ass username Well Jinwoo only says "Gotta say, I'm not too fond of giants. So this is getting on my nerves." in this episode, which in my opinion doesn't really sound like he's alluding to his previous traumatic experience with the statues in my double dungeon. I thought it might be too subtle for some of the anime only people so that's why I mentioned it.

Arctic_stark

Gojo's relationship and history with Geto does all the heavy lifting for his character, but that one aspect alone makes him a deeper character than Jin Woo. He is more interesting because he is OP with insane aura but his strength doesnt solve any of his problems. In that respect he is like Levi.

GreetswithJudgement

This. It’s also just hilarious to see people arguing over what character is better and stronger 😂 I like to join in just to stir the pot.

Shadow

Facts😂 and all I know is that if u like gojo or jinwoo u mostttt likely like the other as well. And if u like one of the shows u probably like both. And the complaints u hear about all of them are similar. So seeing their fans argue is like the watching the team guy clone fight in Naruto 😂😂

GreetswithJudgement

Absolutely! 😂 Life shouldn’t be so damn trivial. Like what you like. You don’t have to compare. It’s not a competition. Holy F, people are so funny!

E

sakamoto days?

Shadow

“They act like two legends cannot coexist”

GreetswithJudgement

Everytime someone tells me that my favorite show sucks or my favorite characters are mid I always respond with, “and, why does it matter to you?” They just move on.

Shadow

Idk why it’s so hard for people to just ignore stuff they don’t like and focus on what they do. Why piss in other people’s cereal

Henarivan Andhika

oh and btw if you're watching on netflix, they included all of these things in their subtitle, including when tusk got a system error

Henarivan Andhika

its totally the subtitles bro, if youre watching on netflix they're all there

Breaking bad?*******

Conk

Where's breaking bad?

Shaun V

Sung Jin-Woo can't just keep gettin away with this shit. This mf is aura farming in every shot he's ever in, and it hits every single time lmao. Solo leveling is really heating up tho, I actually look forward to each weekly episode so much. I can't believe he arose the floorboss here first try though, I really didn't think they were going to give him a boss this overpowered. I am a little surprised at how broken his ability is, like how quickly even with the leveling system, that he rose from literally the weakest hunter to being stronger than other S ranks. I know he was doing his quests and shit, but it's still crazy to me I feel like it hasn't been that long and he's already so broken. I feel like they're going to have to introduce people or bosses much stronger than S rank in order to keep up with his growth, which is strange because S rank is meant to be the epitome in their ranking system (that we know of, who knows). Otherwise who knows, maybe it's just a shorter series, I wonder how far through the manga the anime is? Either way, not really a complaint I care about much, just a thought. This show is such a good watch in so many ways I could literally care less.

Shaun V

Fuck, every time I wanna write a simple comment I end up yapping how does this happen every time🤦‍♂️

Fernando

Sakamoto days?

Conk

breaking bad

Conk

give me breaking bad

Conk

or give me death

Shadow

I love how us two with seinen series pfp glaze this show more than anybody but it gets hate for not being deep enough. True ball knowers🤝

WhynefineT

ngl even jjk haters would disagree with you carter

WhynefineT

Wild take, Gojo has so many layers it's actually insane. The amount of symbolism, themes and parellels is wild.

WhynefineT

Everyone in JJK has so much more layers and dept compared to solo levelling. Techniques reflecting their characters, Each unique ideals for each characters, symbolisms and themes. Gojo's loneliness theme alone wipes solo levelling writing and that's me being generous.

Shadow

Bro recommend a vid with spoilers. This is why this dumb gojo vs jinwoo debate is becoming ass. Everyone stops thinking

WhynefineT

Yeah exactly, Everyone in here needs to form their own opinion rather than what they hear and see on internet. People literally shit on aot saying it's bad but we know it aint true

WhynefineT

If you actually watch the video, It's only anime analysis and he only goes to manga in a separate section

Shadow

Bro the headers for the video literally have spoilers. Why tf do people struggle with spoilers so much - even tho I’d be surprised if anyone ISN’T spoiled for that part the way the fandom handled it

WhynefineT

It doesn't bro😂. Watch the video. It says which one is spoilers and which one is not

Shadow

If the last part the the video has been adapted by the anime I’ll Venmo u $100 - just scroll with your finger… it took me less then half a second after opening the link to find a spoiler

WhynefineT

Isn't that what I said bro😂 He Only goes manga only after anime

Shadow

Linking a vid with spoilers literally in it is just not it😂😂

hugoruix

A+ dungeon magic caster boss. Jinwoo with his orb of magicx2... That sht gon be a menace (I hope, havent read anything)

Shadow

Then there’s people that come in here swearing that Jjk isa different level of deep compared too solo leveling or vice versea when they are very similar series - coming from a person that likes and read both series multiple times. This “deep” stuff is just getting a lil cringe

Shadow

These things with gojo u actually gotta pay attention and dig for just like with jinwoo. Gojo is so under appreciated because everyone looks at it very surface level(even the author at times). Same with jinwoo. There’s nuances and other intricacies in their story that mean a lot like anyone saying gojo is shallow is feeding into or potentially missing the point of his character.

Ryze

the dungeon boss said "is he the lord?!" i think yall have different captions

E L

Carter has always been on point with a lot of things, but this time i just can’t agree with him. Smh

Madjoe

Maybe you understand better with what I mean with this analysis of gojos character from reddit: "Satoru Gojo initially appears to be a flat character, defined only by his immense strength. However, beneath the surface, his character is deeply complex. A crucial question raised in Jujutsu Kaisen challenges his identity: "Is he the strongest because he is Satoru Gojo, or is he Satoru Gojo because he is the strongest? " This dilemma places him in an identity crisis—does his strength define him, or is there more to him beyond that? The death of Riko Amanai profoundly changes Gojo. Initially indifferent to the weak, witnessing her tragic fate makes him realize the value of human life. Her loss fuels his transformation into someone who seeks to protect others, rather than merely overpowering them. At the same time, it also cements his isolation—his unparalleled strength means he stands alone, unable to rely on others in battle. His best friend, Geto also plays a fundamental role in shaping him. While they were once inseparable, Getos descent into darkness after witnessing the cruelty of non-sorcerers forces Gojo into an emotional struggle. Geto was not only Gojo’s closest companion but also the only person who truly saw him as a human being, rather than just the strongest sorcerer. Losing Geto leaves Gojo in a lonely position at the top, fueling his desire to train students who could one day surpass him—not just to create stronger sorcerers, but perhaps so that he himself no longer has to be alone. Ultimately, Gojo’s story is one of isolation despite his power. He is revered and feared for his strength, but his deepest desire is not just to be the strongest—it is to be understood."

Madjoe

got this from reddit and it's a perfect analysis of gojos character. Havent seen any depth like this from Jin woo🤧 "Satoru Gojo initially appears to be a flat character, defined only by his immense strength. BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

Then how can a show like this be called peak if it has no character development? JJK is a very interesting show but almost all characters are pretty shallow. That's the case with solo leveling too. Just because something is hype doesn't mean it's peak. I was actually quite disappointed when I watched JJK since it was all action. Don't get me wrong, it's veryyy interesting and I was screaming with my friends when we watched it, but it just lacks substance

WhynefineT

Can you tell me how are the characters in JJK shallow? I think you are mistaking jjk for Naruto

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

Did we watch the same show? It's actually a pretty popular opinion, and even geks acknowledge that Gojo, one of the most interesting characters in JJK, is kinda shallow. He doesn't have much depth. The only characters that can be part of that conversation are Geto, and maybe Yuji and Yuta, but even then, the writing still isn't that strong. This is coming from someone who has a Geto profile picture on other social media accounts and loved every moment of the show. Honestly, even some Demon Slayer characters have more depth. Even Sakura, one of the most hated Naruto characters because of her lack of utility, could be considered to have more depth than Gojo 😅🫣 They have around the same amount of development. Gojo is just cooler and more likeable.

WhynefineT

Look. Jjk Isnt naruto to have ass writing. Demon slayer may have better writing than naruto but not JJK

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

It sucks to be someone whose favorite show's main inspiration is a show they heavily hate on 😂 At this point you are trolling

WhynefineT

Ayy my favourite shows are breaking bad, aot, vinland saga. Jjk is a good watch tho but naruto is genuinely ass I can see why you're hating on jjk lol nobody in gek except brigg likes it that's why the latest naruto post comments are toxic.

WhynefineT

Jjk is inspired by bleach buddy

Moon

@Henarivan Andhika Ehhh I'm not watching on Netflix haha. They have notoriously bad translations for anime in general. Idk what exactly you mean by they "included all of these things in their subtitle" but if it's good enough for you then great!

JAN NARUTO

Gege confirmed jjk is ispired by both Naruto and Bleach. also he mentions hxh and YYH. but literally just look at the main cast of jjk and naruto🤣

JAN NARUTO

Beauty, please give my blue-eyed king a chance 😭throughout heaven and earth, he alone is the honored one. I’ve completed both the SL manhwa and the JJK manga, and personally, SL is nowhere near JJK in terms of the plot and characters, and the emotions it evokes in readers. The art in SL is great though, but shees you have to see how Gege portrays his cast in the manga OMG, absolutely yummy. Or maybe I’m just too biased because JJK is full of daddies 🤣

Snow

Yeah cause the description of that video doesn't have spoilers in it right? Almost like it spoils a fight that happens in plain text, don't even need to watch the video to see it. Straight in the description.

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

Trust me, Gojo is my legend, and I love him and Geto the most out of all the characters. I just think that his coolness easily surpasses his writing. Again, I was completely spoiled for everything in JJK, so maybe that's why I don't consider it THAT great. But also, I've been spoiled for almost every anime I've ever watched 😭and some of them I still consider the best anime I've ever seen, regardless 😭. Trust me, I have countless edits of JJK characters, especially the men😂🤭, on my phone, and I understand the hype. But I just wish we got more depth for the characters and more backstory. If the animation wasn't that great, I don't think it would be mentioned as much as people's GOAT.

BeautyWillSaveTheWorld

Btw I have pfp of that panel of Gojo you menationed at the start too 😭👇🔥

JAN NARUTO

Yeah, I understand that. I also wish the characters had more backstory and moments to build bonds with them. MAPPA really did a great job promoting the manga with their adaptation, and you know that long-awaited arc we shall not name was so epic. I started cooking up theories and stuff with the jjk community, and it just brought me so much joy. Everything felt so fresh, the female characters were on point, and the males? Chef’s kiss (usher daddy's home intensifies)

Roks

i think he means netflix subtitles included all the things ur complaining about

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Sung “Drip” Woo letting the A-rank leader get darth vader curbstomped 10x times before helping out to auramaxx “You alright ladies?” Ahh character

Mr. John Kagurabachi

This is what Sword Art Online could have been So much missed potential 😔

Freddie

It was the first of its genre. Hard to do without seeing others try and fail.

cozo

sao is still peak

Kyōjurō Rengoku

biggest ragebate ever. In what world does jjk have better characters than naruto ? lmao tenten has more depth than yuji and im not a huge naruto fan

WhynefineT

Yuji has better writing than entirety of naruto

Crystal

Bro really hates naruto💔😭 (feeling’s mutal 😏🤝)

AnonX

Answering your question, this episode covers up to chapter 76 out of 179 chapters in the manhwa. So we haven't hit the halfway mark yet.

Rice887

Wizard101 mentioned !!!!!

Hajd

When will you post Aot 2

Ghedo

Alicization is pretty good and the first half of season one is a classic

Bambina

Beauty I’m so sorry I have to disagree with you here 😭😭😭 I respect your opinion very much but JJK has extremely well developed characters and they don’t lack depth. Now my opinion is based on the manga as well, which finished last year, but Gojo especially is extremely layered character. And you know I love Naruto, too, and Bleach, too (which was the inspiration for JJK), and Naruto is generational, but my love for JJK is up there as well 🩷

Seth Aasland

comparison is the thief of joy. let us enjoy our op necromancer

Seth Aasland

oh, whoops. must have glossed over that lol. if i hadn’t have missed it i wouldn’t sent the original comment lol, sorry

sylx

Mondays and Fridays are AOT 2 posts

BodaciousBaboon58

If you read the JJK manga you know SJW clears🤷‍♂️

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I don't care how strong Sung Jin Woo is. But JJK characters are some of the best in any anime. Even if Gojo is barely in my top 5 JJK characters he is still way better than Sung Jin Woo.

BlueA

The JJK glazing really is insane, glad that I never take part in any conversation about anime no more, it's just kids fighting for their favorite without taking into consideration any argument from the other side.

Michael Kitten

I don’t think JJK’s writing is allat but yeah I’d have to say it’s better, not by much tho. Solo Leveling is clearly just getting started and the real story began in season 2 episode 3, season 3 will clearly explore the world of SL and the “system” a lot. But I haven’t seen the entirety of JJK season 2, so I can’t give a full opinion. I just know some people’s complaints with season 1 is that sometimes its slow and they exposition dumps consistently, and I can definitely understand that. Solo Leveling is a much easier show to get into.

Cory McGranahan

I’m not even a Gojo glazer, but he is NOT shallow XD

Emily

just to reply there is a very big character development in Jinwoo. Its not the one we think. He seems to be going down a dark path with his abilities and i think its a really cool change to what we normally see. He went from an E-rank who couldn't hold his own to an extremely powerful S-rank maybe even National level hunter. so to say there is a lack in character development is crazy.
