Betsy

Yaaay my second favorite game is finally here! 🔥

Pulse rifles suck in pve

surely we get blessed with the last episode this week so we dont have to wait :sob:

‎

Next episode is gonna go crazy.

-

So close to getting mid over with 🥳 😇

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

I think this is my new fav game. The way Chishiya reads him like a book and then flips the paradigm of the game by telling him his answer so he has to decide the value of his life which goes against his ideals. Basically turns it from a diamond game to a hearts game.

redbonesx

King of Diamonds said isomewhat true, there's no such things as fairness and equality, its only up to your ideals whether you want to follow it or not. Equality are for those who wants to benefits them only because no one respects them and to show they have the same value as anyone else. ofcourse thats bs, you're telling me that Ellon Musk has the "same value/equal" to random homeless person? lol. Equality is a delusion that the minority always fights for and the corruption always ignore, theres no such thing as equality, everything that we do in this world is an example of inequality. Us humans dominate the world to begin with, do you think thats equal to all natural living things? No. This game is so interesting, you can barely grasp what theyre talking about, but if you take it all in you fully understand the big picture why the King Diamonds did what he did.

GreetswithJudgement

King of Diamonds King of Clubs King of Spades Best games for me. King is just King I guess.

ainsley

next episode goes crazy i’m so hype

Merry

Love for niragi is coming🤣🤢

Merry

My second favourite game... the way chishiya handles it gives me goosebumps and his backstory that how society your profession changes you and your thinking.. From that episode i realized why was he so calm doesn't care about anything..

draeonic 🪼
>>165204858

lolwhat. Fairness and equality ARE values, just because they're not shared by everyone doesn't mean they don't exist. And yes, there are people capable of enough empathy for others to share those values even if it wouldn't benefit them personally.

C2-H5-OH

Every time Cannon and Carter cringe from violence, I remember why I'm still subbed to this Patreon. Way back from the AoT days, when I started the first AoT video, I used to think it's just a bunch of guys no different than the rest. Little did I know the level of wholesomeness that would come. You guys really are my GOATs.

ilona

the next ep is actually insane. I can't wait

Anya

Usagi's big character development! Her speech was a reminder to not become a slave to this world. You were born in the real world and you have a right to live and to live free. You lose yourself in the Borderlands- morals, integrity, humanity. Always need people to spread hope. Arisu was that for Usagi and now she shares that. Staying in the Q♠️ is an easy but short sighted solution. It's also mental and physical enslavement.

Anya

Amazing callbacks this episode!🤯 Karube told Arisu they could search for a doctor in the games for Chota. Unbeknownst to them, Chishiya was the doctor in the tag game. The man who tried to motivate Kuzuryu is Takuma. He's from the (4♣️) Distance game. "The young man" he said that saved him was Arisu. (I thought Jack remembered it but nooo lol)

Anya

Kuzuryu was already the K♦️. He would join games to conduct social experiments. He was curious about human ideals and morality. Kuzuryu & Chishiya are the same. Both became complicit in the suffering of others due to grave injustices. Plus, both are soo damn intellectual! Diamond match for sure! Manga fun facts: *Kuzuryu acted as the injured player in the 4♣️ game *Kuzuryu beat the previous K♦️ on the first day of the second stage *Aqua regia was used instead of sulfuric acid

Nico

Every Chishiyas games are always so freaking good

Luke Fox

This episode also explains why Chishiya has been so non-chalent this whole series. He is totally level headed and calm at playing the games because he is entirely disconnected from whether he lives or dies. To him, he did such horrible things in his other life choosing for other people to live over those who should. Now he doesn't even blame fate should it choose that his life is next to go, since he did the same thing as a doctor. As he said 'What is the value of my life, someone who runs head first into danger'

Luke Fox
>>165210795

Yeah I noticed that first point re-watching this with them for the first time. When they said they needed to find a doctor and then it immediately panned to Chishiya I was wanting to yell at the screen lol. Didn't notice that first time around obviously.

Will

Chishiya’s games are my favorite in season 2. In the king of Diamond I was so happy to see his backstory and I would never guessed that he is a doctor. And I also like Kuzuryu’s character.

WHY

The King of Diamonds game is so well written. Chishiya’s letting the King of Diamonds to decide because he knew (or bet) that since the King of Diamonds couldn’t decide/determine the value of life (at least not the value of everyone else’s life except for his own) because of his ideal that everyone should be equal and no one’s life is above the other’s/more valuable than another, so he equally couldn’t decide the value of Chishiya’s life or even his death here. Therefore, the King ended up choosing to end his own life, which is the only thing he could do, that is to decide for himself based on his idealism.

WHY

This episode has the heaviest critique of society and the reflection of how the world operates with one of the most important themes of the show: (un)fairness and (in)equality. Both the King of Diamonds and Chishiya’s backstories show how the world in reality works. One might think it’s totally unfair and unethical to allow the director’s friend’s kid to jump the line and one might hate that money talks for everything, but others might think differently and even accept the reality that without the financial support from the director, the hospital might not even be able to survive/ operate to save more kids. It’s such a dilemma there. Whether you would abandon your ideals and sacrifice one patient to let the hospital survive and run to save more kids (cuz who says the rich and powerful people’s kid’s life has no value?) OR whether you would do it fairly and more ethically to save the right kid in the order/list (cuz that kid’s life equally has value too) but risking the entire hospital going busted and not being able to operate anymore to save more kids is really a debatable thing. Theoretically and ideally, no kid or human being’s life should worth more than the others but is it really the case in reality? I’m certainly not the right person here to comment which one is right or wrong because this would always be debatable and everyone has a different ruler of standards. But it’s definitely not just a simple moral thing on one single person but something about the entire society. It just shows the cruel reality of how the world operates.

WHY

It’s a beautifully written saving/sacrificing circle here. Arisu saved the injured leg guy on the bus in episode 4 of s1. The injured leg guy then saved the King of Diamonds. The King of Diamonds now sacrificed himself to save Chishiya. And more to come…

WHY

The King of Diamonds game is my favourite game from this season. Not only because it’s very intellectual with the mathematical thinking and it comes down to logics and not only because it’s turning into a heart game and as Carter said, Chishiya is making use of the King of Diamonds’ ideals of fairness and equality of value of life against him, but also because the two backstories that come with the game explore societal issues like wealth disparity, money talks, power of economy, and how these impact legal decisions, medical decisions and value of peoples’ lives.

draeonic 🪼

Petition for the Geks to play the K♦️ game for our entertainment. (But maybe with like. Ice water instead of acid.)

WHY

Chishiya’s backstory explains a lot why Chishiya’s so cold and nonchalant throughout but pragmatic at the same time. He’s seen enough of ups and downs, unfairness, the cruelty of people’s lives being easily decided by others who have more money and power, and he’s been letting go of all these and accepting them the whole time in his entire life in the original world. Also, see how Chishiya always keeps his hands in the pockets in the show which is exactly what doctors usually do. It’s their professional habit. Also notice how the writer intentionally gave Chishiya white/grey/beige jackets similar to doctor’s white coats. I’m just amazed by the level of writing of this show which gives you all the little details which, when connected together, already explain so much about a character in a very efficient and economical way of storytelling.

WHY
>>165218837

Same. And the King of Diamonds is my favourite face card person.

Will

And to say that some people think that Alice In borderland is just people playing games in the borderland with no writing while It’s deeper than what they think

WHY
>>165200537

Betsy and Luke, this is my favourite game haha. Jack of Hearts is my second favourite.

WHY
>>165219779

Crazy right? Bless them. I guess as deep as the show is, some people may not recognise that because people’s own visions and horizons and how they want to view things determine the level of depth of the things they see, not the other way round, unfortunately.

WHY
>>165218837

Same omg! 🤝 And then my third favourite is the Queen of Hearts 🤭

Betsy
>>165200537

On further thinking/rewatching this might be my favorite after all. It's written so well. And I love shows Chishiya's backstory and why he's so indifferent and chill about everything. He's a product of his own environment which was cold and did things unfairly to keep the hospital afloat by cheating with the lives of innocent helpless children in the process. But like others have said on here, sadly money does indeed talk and people can be full of greed and only looking after themselves. Living your life where you have to constantly think which one has more value. It's messed up. But even though, the kids with more financial gain grew up living a life of luxury and favoritism, they were still just kids who were were sick too. And the other kids who were lesser off couldn't escape poverty. I also love how Kuzuryu always wanted to be fair and do things the right way. And in the end, he kept his morals, ideals by sacrificing himself for the greater good. I'm torn between him and the King of Clubs. I really like both their perspectives and how they carried on with their integrity and good nature even in the hellish world of the Borderlands. They always wanted to be honest and fair no matter the circunstance.

Betsy
>>165200537

Thanks, WHY. I loved all your points too as always ☺️ Man I just love how everything in the show is connected and deeply woven together. It all has a meaning and a purpose. It's cool how you can watch AIB and gain a new perspective everytime and see things you didn't notice before. With all that being said, I'm excited for the guys to see the next episode. I look forward to hearing their thoughts and opinions.

Alex

I really felt like Jack was about to realise the guy convincing Kuzuryu to keep going in the flash back was the injured guy in the bus during the distance game that Arisu saved... But he got cut off by his intrusive Naruto thoughts XD.

Alex

honestly... that game was a lot gorier in my memories than it actually is XD

WHY
>>165200537

Thanks Betsy 🥰 Absolutely! The more I rewatch it, the more I appreciate the show from different perspectives.

Betsy
>>165234310

Yeah I think Tatta's was more disturbing. I flinched the first time I watched it. But the King of Diamonds Game is still pretty messed up but not nearly as graphic.

cade-carter

3 years ago these guys had barely seen half an episode of anime now theyre making cringe jokes from OP. beautiful

Keiji

This is my fav game.

Mari

Chisiya won by Pay it Forward. That's the guy from the bus that Arisu saved. I'm glad they came around and liked Chisiya. I liked him from that time he burned Niragi. Peaked episode and another peak episode coming up!! Excited for ep 7.

Betsy
>>165254077

That's crazy I didn't even notice that until now. Wow this show never fails to amaze me with its clever writing, foreshadowing and storytelling.

fatou ੈ✩‧₊˚

I feel like im the only one who thinks that one of the guys in the 1st game of this episode looks a lot like arisu, during my 1st watch when he first appeared i was confused for a sec😹

WHY
>>165256217

You’re not the only one. Although I wasn’t confused on my 1st watch, I also reckon that guy looks really like Arisu, especially with the hairstyle and face line 🤣

Betsy
>>165200537

You're very welcome and yeah it's such a beautiful thing. 🥰

Anya
>>165233941

Alex same! 🤣🤣 Jack: "I feel like..." Me: Yes, Jack recognized him! *waiting & impressed* Jack: mumbles something totally irrelevant Me: Nooooooo!! 😭😭

Anya
>>165234310

I thought it was awful! I underestimated Carter lol

Ollie
>>165254077

Kinda crazy as well because you would expect that the King of Diamonds would have been a citizen for like forever. But it makes me think he can't have been for that long.

Sissy Six

CARTER. For the love of all that is holy.. if you do a poll to replace this show please please please let us vote for multiple shows on the first round… it just gives you the most accurate picture of what the community would be excited about watching. There is literally no downside. 🙏🏻

Anya
>>165219040

Well said WHY!! Yes, that's why they intentionally mentioned that they were a big donor.

Anya
>>165218999

100% agree! Great breakdown for those who don't understand why he did what he did! 👏👏

Anya
>>165210795

🤣🤣 Yes Luke same! I didn't even realize it when I read the manga. I only made the connection when I watched the LA for the first time! So yeah, second viewing too!! 🤯

Anya
>>165200537

Well said Betsy!! J❤️ is my favorite BUT everytime I watch this episode I get conflicted lol The message is sooo much deeper!

Anya
>>165219486

Yes message aside, the dedication they show is admirable! Arisu holding the gun wrong. Chishiya white jacket hands in pocket. 👏👏

Betsy
>>165234310

Me too. Sorry Carter. lol I was so grossed out the first I watched it. It's a little more bearable now though.

GreetswithJudgement

Dang, AIB is about to be over. Severance will soon follow… Here’s my selfish vote for the next poll. Band of Brothers The Penguin Vikings Black Sails Succession Cobra Kai Any of these will do lol

Betsy
>>165200537

Aww thanks, Anya. You're right, it goes far beyond what you might initially think at first glance. I'm seeing this show with a new lense after rewatching it. Goodness, I love how deep it actually goes. 💕

Abigail. O

You guys should totally react to Money Heist (La Casa de papal)

WHY
>>165219040

Thanks Anya! You’re right. If it’s just someone paying more money to the doctor to jump the line, then it would be more of a personal thing, and it wouldn’t make this part that impressive. But the fact that they were big donors to the hospital just brings it to a different level that makes things more debatable and requires more reflections.

Fatipapi

Like her or hate her, that queen is one strong, bad ass bitch

Fatipapi

Usagi hit them with the Talk no Jutsu

Fatipapi

Never thought about this before, but Ann and Kuina being half naked (torso and legs) is really dumb.. exposure is more likely to kill them than those games 🥲especially kuina with those cuts and bruises, that shit gon get infected real quick

Fatipapi

Tatta’s macaroni wrist was way worse than the face melts 😭

Stefan

I found such poetic beauty in Kuzuriu's last line (almost) being "i've finally decided how i want to live my life" right as his life was coming to an end because of that decision. And the relief and tears of joy on his face. And once the season is over and you process everything, you get him even more and you understand exactly what was going on in his head at that time. Loved this episode

Roxana G.

When AIB is finished, could you also please do Money Heist (Casa de Papel)?

Fatipapi

I love how the scale waited til chishiya was done explaining before tipping over on the lady lmao

Fatipapi

Damnit Carter, i was hoping you were gonna drop the LOTR quote with that sunrise mention 😂 “blood has been spilt this night”

Lily

I'm not sure if you noticed, but the guy who helped Kuzuryu is the guy Alice helped in the Bus game in Season 1!

Tami

Next ep goes crazy

Lydia

i LOVE this episode and its one of my favorites in the whole show. you think they made chishiya one of those anime like characters who is trying to act all cool, but we learn from his backstory he is just so detached because of his past experience. it was actually shocking to see that the way he played the game, he really didn't mind either way if he lived or died. when he said "it feels like you won and left me behind. i envy you" that was honestly heartbreaking. im glad he didn't die tho 😭

a.f

When is the next eps gonna released?

Alex
>>165233941

Our boy Jack was so close! He almost had it! 😂😂

Sasha

Wasn't it Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson? Mike Tyson would have easily won if he tried btw

Sasha

How is it random she wants Arisu? Arisu is her type

Betsy

I'm excited for episode 7! It's pretty crazy. Haha😳

Merry
>>165363672

Yep.I think I have never hated any character as much as I hate Niragi.

Stefan
>>165254077

I actually think he was still playing games while being the king for the same reason why he was at the beach. He was trying to find the value of life while being among people on the verge of death.

Betsy
>>165363672

Awesome!! Great to have you, Fatipapi :) Welcome to the group! Please take a seat. Lol 🥰

Betsy
>>165363672

But I wonder if episode 7 will be delayed until tomorrow? I'm too pumped for the next one haha

Fatipapi
>>165363672

No clue 🤔, ill see it when i see it i guess. I need to get my ass to sleep. My alarm is going off in 6h and I’ve already been sleeping shitty this whole week 😭 fml

Betsy
>>165363672

True. Oh no sorry girl! Get some rest. Goodnight. Hope you're able to sleep better. 😭 Looking forward to it! See ya then :) 🥰

odania innocent

i would like a kdrama for next time but I'm not sure if they would enjoy it as much

Merry
>>165363672

Haha... my awake limit is 2am so yeah i slept😂And have a morning with ep 7

Betsy
>>165363672

That's a good in- between time. I'm so awful with my sleep right now. I've gotten in such a bad habit. 😄

WHY
>>165363672

I’m so late to the party. Loving this thread with all your interactions and comments 🥰

Betsy
>>165363672

It's ok, no worries. Good morning, WHY. Aww thank you. Hope you're doing well! 🥰

WHY
>>165363672

Thanks Betsy. It’s night time for me haha 😝

WHY
>>165363672

I’m a late owl as you, Betsy. Not sleeping yet haha. I just rewatched so many times the 4 mins fighting scenes of ep7 just to see each of the Geks’ separate reactions lol

Betsy
>>165363672

I did too. It's just so good!! Best reaction so far on any show lol Those action sequences go so hard.

Merry
>>165363672

Because of one person who thinks that we are siblings😂

Betsy
>>165363672

Oh it's that conversation. That's funny. Which episode was that from? I was trying to find it. 🤣

Riya

The random guy who saved kuzuryu said someone saved him in a previous game, it's prob from the "Distance" game where arisu saved him from last season

Yo Dani

i just realized, i havent seen any Aces yet lol, so im a little bit worried

Yo Dani

what is wrong with Jack? like really. "She can't answer you that, she will die if she does"... bro SHE'S GOING TO DIE IN THE NEXT 30 SEC ANYWAY!

Yo Dani

Dammit Cannon.. you've already watched The 100.. i wanted to see a reaction of that xd
