Noah

hypeee

Kim 555

Omg I just realized you finished season one in this drop HOLY SMOKES thank you for the drop

Kim 555

Please don’t skip Ilse’s Notebook OVA, it’s so good. I recommend it after s2e10 personally.

Not 1 Not 2 But 3 🙏🏻

Season 2 hypeeeeee. I can't wait for s2e# (If you know, you know). The episode is phenomenal and has my favorite soundtrack in AoT, youseeBIGGIRL/T:T

Alex Ramirez

Just another day for the Survey Corps.

Conk

What day does Invincible get posted

Ladnon

probably a binge when the season ends, couldn't say though

Vallll

In episode 16 or 17, when the scouts were trying to find out who killed Sawney and Bean by checking the gas, Armin and Annie were having a conversation. Armin said something like Annie, you’re actually a very good person right? (Because she is implicitly persuading them to join the MP instead of the scouts). Annie was shocked by his words because she never considered herself as good, but she didn’t deny that. In the same scene, Annie said that Armin has guts even though he’s weak. She was praising him because she can’t be like Armin. She thinks herself as weak, despite her physical prowess, because she doesn’t have the courage to change the currents that Eren or Armin have, and that’s why she respects them. The topic of courage is intentionally brought up again with the incident of Marlow. This is why Annie and Armin are having a conversation about good and bad in the alley, and that’s why Annie was shocked when Armin said she would be a bad person for him. He is the only person who has ever called her good. Other people all compliment how strong she is, but these compliments don’t get to her. She may seem aloof, but she’s really hurt by Armin’s look in this episode. It’s actually cute that she (the female titan) lifted Armin’s hood, given these interactions they have. It wasn’t Jean or Connie. It was intentionally Armin. Isayama doesn’t waste a single panel of his manga. Every conversation or scene is useful.

G

annies stance is actually based on muay thai, thats why shes so high up and kinda of on her toes,to throw kicks knees and elbows faster

jemmy

It's so funny how what Mikasa told Eren in the tunnel about how the world is cruel stuck with him. The world is cruel so ... 52:56

jemmy

Wow. So many things I noticed that I wished I could share...

hman70

Annie’s conversation with Marlowe about wanting to be seen as a normal person is slightly longer in the manga and I’d recommend any fan to look it up and give it a quick read (chapter 31) I think the anime left out a few crucial lines which make Annie’s speech make a bit more sense. She’s basically saying those who are meek or cowardly or who just go with the flow and follow orders and don’t stand up to corruption are the norm. She says the military police is inefficient and corrupt not necessarily because they’re evil but because the organization reflects human nature. She argues to Marlowe that his bravery makes him special and in seeking to punish corruption he’s ignoring his enemies’ fundamental humanity. In the end Marlowe comes to the understanding that his enemy may not be corrupt *people* but the system itself that allows and rewards corruption

Ante

Eren Jaeger, first of his name, angry king, the crashout titan, leader of the Andals and the First Men, my GOAT.

That quote man... Eren was always like that since the beginning

jemmy

Me love Eren

Vallll

It’s crazy on rewatch.

I know you’ll watch Levi’s OVA but please watch Gone Girl OVA after season 2 ends. You’ll see more about Annie’s side of story.

And Protector of the Realm

kiiturii

yooo the bluray version yall are the goats

Dorak

I will never get tired of seeing one of the boys look at the camera realizing something that is said/done has a meaning later on

Alex Ramirez

I can see how confused the guys' reaction is in the last episode. Season 1 of AoT didn't get any oversight from Isayama, the author/mangaka of AoT. So the anime studio took a few liberties in some places, especially in some huge parts in the first episode. I know the girls are reading the comments so I won't say what parts of the first episode. However, for the last episode they did that thing with Eren that caused them to look confused. Also, they ended off season 1 with Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Jean in that room after the fight. Which is gonna be confusing when you start season 2 because it starts minutes after Annie crystallized, instead of a new day. The good thing is that from season 2 and onward, Isayama has more involvement in the anime.

Sid

Have you guys considered watching the OVAs (Ilse's Notebook, Sudden Visitor, Distress) before you watch Season 2?

Rice887

I seriously cannot wait for season 2

mk

28:10 is one hell of a parallel

hman70

Eren being on fire in the fight this ep has been complained about as an inconsistency or whatever, I’m fine with it and am able to justify it by like…we know Titan healing is signified by steam/heat. So maybe eren was just so angry that he accelerated the healing so fast it caught him on fire just for that final burst 🤷‍♂️

Zu

I've rewatched this show a few times and never noticed this until you pointed it out. Isayama really is the goat holy shit

kiiturii

ah so we're still seeing the TV version, that's unfortunate, but as long as it's high quality for them I'm happy lol

Wave

PEAK

TheSauceGuy

Besides watching No Regrets, I don't know which others they plan on watching. I don't see the point in them skipping any of the OVAs, let alone watching fewer than last time, but I feel like that's what's going to happen. I hope I'm wrong though.

hman70

I’m willing to be the lone Nile defender in these comments 😂 I personally think it’s right for us to be critical of Erwin’s decision to execute this plan in an occupied city. Sacrificing scouts on the expedition in a gambit to lure out an enemy titan was one thing when we’re talking about soldiers who signed up for this. But this time there’s no getting around it, Erwin sacrificed dozens and potentially hundreds of civilian lives this time, that’s another level. If you lived in Stohess you’d probably see Nile arresting him as the Military Police’s biggest dub of the episode 😅

Jv1300

Brig is being so obvious w his comments 😂

hman70

And he orders his people to prioritize civilian rescue and evacuation! Chad!

Alex Ramirez

It's an anime-only seen. Not canon

Vallll

He’s fulfilling his duties to be loyal to the crown and to protect the civilians. Unlike us and the scouts, he has a limited vision on the issue.

Mike

shouldn't they watch the both openings and endings before the season ends?

TheSauceGuy

It could be fun to hear everyone's most and least favorite characters at the end of each season. Edit: whoops, they did half of this at the end

TheSauceGuy

Mikasa's attempt to get Eren to fight Annie reminded me of something else. Anyone else notice what I'm talking about?

Terry C

You guys should emphasize the fact that they lived, ate, slept, trained together under one roof for 3 grueling years. They became essentially family. It's hard for Eren to just turn it off and look at her as the enemy all of the sudden. That's why I felt it when Eren said "How?? How can you fight her"

Hmm

On your feet

draeonic 🪼

Armin's view on "good person" is oddly immature and lacking nuance for him. Most people can dub someone a good person even if they're not good specifically *for them*. And there's a gray area; not being a good person doesn't make you a bad one.

Vallll

I think it’s more like he’s using that to manipulate Annie.

M1GZ

PLEASE PLEASE have a post season spoiler discussion after each season with just the boys so we can hear everything yall caught on the rewatch

kiiturii

@hman70 yeah and also healing is based off the subjects willingness to live so it does add up (but yeah I get it it's not an *actual* thing, but it's not an outragous loophole either)

Qhoa

W

kiiturii

you don't talk for us Leo

Thelcia

yeah yeah same here- been sayin this to ppl

TheSauceGuy

You really can't blame the Military Police here. They weren't informed of any plan, nor were most of them equipped with ODM gear. Also, after seeing her in action, I think it's safe to say Annie's female titan is not "just one titan" haha. Even after getting past the initial confusion/shock, it would've been stupid for the MPs to try and fight Annie, considering the difficulty the Scouts were having. Prioritizing the safety of civilians was the best thing the inexperienced and ill-equipped MPs could hope to do in that situation.

TheSauceGuy

To get the authentic AoT experience, you have to wait four years to watch season 2.

TheSauceGuy

Destroyer of Stohess lol

TheSauceGuy

I've been asking for this too

TheSauceGuy

Sudden Visitor is so funny, but idk if the girls will dig the anime tropes it brings haha

Sean Carroll

personally only no regrets and ilses notebook are important. I dont care to watch a sudden visitor or distress. Annie and Mikasa OVA's are also not super interesting

draeonic 🪼

Saying "you'll be a bad person to me if you don't" didn't require coming up with a self-centered life philosophy on the spot. (And the number of people who watch this scene and go "oh wow that's so real" is. Concerning.)

Sean Carroll

sudden visitor is the worst ova and a waste of time, distress is fine but altogether unimportant. Ilses notebook though is a good one

Sean Carroll

theyll do a reaction at the end of the show

Sean Carroll

wow never thought of that, interesting

Sean Carroll

Brig is right, the rewatch of season 1 is far better than the first watch. When I first watched AOT i didnt fall in love with it until the female titan arc

Sean Carroll

My personal rating for season 1 is a 7.5/10. Trost arc is a 7 and female titan arc is an 8. Main issues with season 1 is simply the pacing is inconsistent. We have 4 strong episodes in trost and then have 4 episodes where very little happens and it strats to drag. The female titan arc is consistent action all the ay through but their is a lot of inner monologuing which gets grating after a while. Carter is correct that season 1 is the most "anime" that the show is and the issues of season 1 disappear going forward thankfully. Cant wait for season 2, now the show truly begins in my eyes

Sean Carroll

The finale has a very interesting mid title card which has a story that most people skip. I strongly recommend you guys read the below despite how long it is. The year 784... (76 years ago) One blistering hot night, a miner decided to dig under Wall Sina, to live within the inner ring. "Life in Wall Sina would be pretty nice." That thought had come to him suddenly a few days ago, as he dug with his shovel, deep in a coal mine. In a way, you could call it divine inspiration. And so, for the next few days, he wandered along the wall, finally settling on a spot where the dense forest pressed against it. No one would chance upon him, and the overhead leaves would shelter him and his task from the prying eyes of the guards above. On the next night, he began. Using his trusty shovel, the miner began to dig. The work went smoothly, and before long, the pit was as deep as he was tall. When he could no longer fling dirt outside it, he stuffed it into sacks, climbing a ladder to discard it. Completely dedicated to the task at hand, he took only a few short breaks to drink water and to ease his weary muscles. After spending twenty years of his life digging without a day of rest, the miner knew he was an expert at it. And during that time, he'd learned to dig deeper, more quickly, and more efficiently than anyone else. Tunnels that would stump any other miner were no match for his shovel. But that day was different. He dug for hours, yet never seemed to get anywhere. As he dug, he probed to either side of the main pit with his shovel, but it was of no use. The wall's foundation seemed to go down forever, deep into the earth, blocking his path at every turn. Still he persevered. Any thought of digging his way to an easy life inside Wall Sina had been long forgotten. He simply wanted to conquer the wall. "I'm willing to bet all the years I've spent digging that I will beat this wall," he said to himself, wiping the sweat from his brow. The hole was more than four or five times the miner's height when he struck hard rock. He wondered, "Bedrock?" But it appeared to be of the same material as the wall's foundation itself. The miner swung his shovel down hard on the rock. The shovel shattered, but the rock was unscathed. The miner sighed, and his sigh was deeper than any hole he'd dug in the previous twenty years. With a frown, his friend questioned, "The Wall?" "It's weird, isn't?" the miner said, lifting his drink to his lips. "Who knew that the wall went so deep underground?" The pair sat across from one another at a table in the back if a tavern in a seedy part of town. Most days, the miner would go there with his friend, his only friend, after work. That day, the day after he'd tried to dig under the wall, they'd gone there as usual, once the workday was done. And then, the miner told his friend the story, certain that his friend could keep a secret. "Maybe we're surrounded by walls not only above the ground, but below the ground, too." said the miner. "Tell me something... What, exactly, are the walls?" His friend cut him off with a cough, glancing around the tavern. The patrons were all busy drinking, hitting on the tavern maid, or yelling at one another. No one was watching them. But even so, the miner decided not to say another word about it. If anyone heard him, the Military Police would be there in an instant. "Does it really matter?" his friend asked. "Just keep on living here as you always have. You're poor, but you have a job every day, and enough money that you can drink. Inst that enough?" "Yeah," the miner replied. "Yeah, it is. I'll go back to digging. In the end, I guess that's my lot in life." But the next day, the miner didn't show up for work. Not the next... Nor the day after that. His friend went to his house many times, but never saw any sign of him. the miner had no relatives, nor other close friends, so there was no one to ask where he might have gone. Unsure what to do, his friend eventually went to the Garrison, and told them the whole story. The next day, the Military Police and the Garrison organized a large-scale search party. It was a little excessive for one poor miner, even if that miner was a criminal who'd tried to pass under the walls. His friend couldn't understand why they were so bent on finding him. But they never found a trace of the miner, nor even the pit he'd dug. And one day, his friend also vanished, never to be seen again.......

Thomas Strunk

Hearing "Vintage" and bluray in the same sentence hurt my soul lol

Sean Carroll

I didn’t type this out, I copy and pasted it

Daniella

Glad the girls enjoyed the first season so much, can't wait to see the rest of their reactions!! Personally, Eren's inner thoughts are one of the most interesting parts of the show to me (there were no signs lol)

Meel

I actually never knew this thought it was pretty cool

GreetswithJudgement

That was some diabolical shit and the reason I gave up on the series at first.

keyton bush

That’s why they also need to watch the ‘Distress’ OVA. It has more cadet corps moments.

keyton bush

Along with ‘No Regrets’ y’all also need to watch the ‘Distress’ and ‘Lost Girls’ OVA (and of course Ilse’s notebook but y’all know that). Those OVA’s contain more character building between the cadets.

studiogek

Yeah it’s beyond difficult to screen record the Blu-ray version :(

G

😭yes just like we had to

kiiturii

since yall are already paying for the physical disks, yall cooould use a pirating streaming site that has the bluray version for the recording 👀 miruro dot tv is one I'd recommend if yall are fine with doing that, it's also got good subs, completely understandable if not though

kiiturii

a 5 makes logical sense yes, but in reality a 5 is a very low rating for a large majority of people, it's not a rating people would give a show that they thought was mid, mid is more like a 7 or a 6

Lexi Browning

I say this every time I watch a reaction to the end of season 1. Y’all are living in a blessed time. We waited 4 years for season 2 😭

TRILLHO

He starts off saying he doesn't like the term "good person" and explains his impression of what people typically mean when they call someone good. I didn't think he was saying he believes that himself, but following that line of thought she'd be a bad person for not helping him. I don't think it would be as convincing or believable coming from Armin if he only said the last line to Annie.

Some of them have cooler bits of world building like this

TheSauceGuy

They're watching Pirates of the Caribbean, so they're allowed to pirate

TheSauceGuy

I like the super intense music to what is an otherwise not intense episode.

TheSauceGuy

Wish it was laid out more like that in the anime, because that's much more interesting

TheSauceGuy

It's entirely subjective, but I think it's worth them watching as fans of the series.

misspancakes

The girls are very sharp ngl

Miitei

I can say that I have enjoyed this rewatch a lot, this is my first time rewatching after the finale and I have notice far more things than any other of my rewatches. Happy the girls are actually liking it, I'm enjoying their theories a lot!

Martina

I remember the suffering and then the absolute horror of only getting 12 episodes after that 4 year wait 🥲🥲🥲

Wickerx Nanana

Man Brig won in life, Riley is so freaking cute, love all her little gestures

Kyra Sun

I’m always so confused about Levi’s injury in the last episode, he was told to stay put but then in the next scene he’s using his ODM gear to cut Eren out of his titan. Did that scene happen in the manga too or is it anime only?

WhynefineT

Emotions sky rocketing rn😭

lilrigbus

Yeah. I guess the best justification I could come up with is that the specific act of cutting him out wouldn't be as taxing on his injury as having to fight a Titan; it doesn't seem to be a debilitating injury as he can still walk around on it. For the sake of logical continuity, it would be better to have like Hange do it or something; but I can also see how the scene fits Levi's personality more and vice-versa. I don't know...

lilrigbus

Good call on the No Regrets episodes. Did you guys watch the "Ilse's Notebook" OVA when you did the first watch? Of all the OVAs, I'd say that's probably the most important for the lore of the story. I'd DEFINITELY recommend watching that along with No Regrets if you can...

marco

I don't think they did. Seconding this recommendation if the Gek boys did not watch it. It will be doubly hype because that OVA is hinting at a big reveal that occurs a bit later on down the series.

ash

i’m surprised the girls are so embarrassed to say they’re watching an anime to others.. i guess i didn’t realize some ppl are still that close minded to it in the big year of 2025😭

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

«30 is a little old for me» about Levi is crazyyyyy 😅 I’m curious how old is girls)

Jenny D

I really enjoyed this first season. I would give it an 8 as well. I'm looking forward to starting season 2. I'd say my top three characters are 1) Eren 2) Mikasa 3) Levi

JulioLG

Incredible, I freak out to think what they'd say about my VHS collection 😅

JulioLG

pretty please?

JulioLG

the famous Mikasa's death glare XD

Melly

Wowww the Blu-ray really did cook!!

i have faith that season two will successfully blow the girls' minds :)

Soulytia

can't wait for the girls reaction to season 2 :D

bondbond53

I know if Erwin was a real person his plan would be questioned by more people on the couch and more will see where Nile is coming from. Erwin is the GOAT but idk if I can say with absolute confidence that I'd justify his actions in this instance if my life was affected and there was essential no positive outcome

Dakota

Every rewatch of this show is just as good as the last. Can't even count the amount of times i've watched this now, but I love it every single time. Also on the edge of my seat waiting for more 86 :) lol

Mysterious Figure

Did he also like his own comments? If so, that is so funny Im gonna have to like too

I was when I started 😅

Nami Swannn

The Jean love at the end 🫂 gek girls got taste

Chrissy

Haha same I feel like it’s so mainstream now!

Chrissy

I was thinking the same thing!

Frizen

Yeah they can often times let there bias for characters affect reasoning like calling the military police who were asking what's going on bums like they are somehow supposed to know and understand that the scouts made a plan to confront Annie and have a titan battle in the middle of the city 🤣. Also Erwin straight up admits that civilians dying was expected from his plan not to mention that's the whole point of what Armin was saying about being a monster to fight monsters. The show was literally telling them Erwin isn't necessarily doing something good. Not saying its wrong to agree with him but I'm not going to act like the military police's reaction wasn't justified.

TheSauceGuy

and now you've become an anime pfp

TheSauceGuy

I swear they did, but it might be among the videos that got deleted from their Patreon for storage purposes. Edit: Nvm, I guess I'm insane

TheSauceGuy

It shouldn't have even been an OVA, it should've just been in the show

TheSauceGuy

ancient relics of a bygone era

Slizzle

Yeah military police are bums but nile is actually a good person imo and I feel like people don’t see him in a good light just because he’s MP

Slizzle

Carter if you see this please be a goat and do this

DAI

I don't understand how ppl can look away from the screen chatting while watching foreign shows, my eyes would be glued to the screen so I won't miss a single line of CC.

DAI

Maybe that's what ppl do with their friends and that's why I have no friend lol

EFFect_Phantom

was just going to say this! They definitely need to watch it with the other OVAs, but does that fit before or after S2?

lilrigbus

I agree. It's a very well-made episode too. Season 1 follows Eren so closely, I guess they felt it was too much of a tonal shift... I dunno

Jenny D

I like his will to live and see the world

Melly

Someone stop me from rewatching their original season 2 reactions lol. Like I haven’t already 🥲

Noah

the rewatch is cooking fr

Wickerx Nanana

Shes lucky too bro, you're tall and good looking :D

S Moonchild⁷

Season 1 is def the most anime-like season. But it lays out the foundation perfectly. Idk maybe because I didn’t start my anime journey with AoT, I have seen cringier stuff, AoT doesn’t shock me, there are maximum 3-4 moments throughout the whole show I thought could have been done a bit differently to make it less cringy.

Kleebo

Bradlynn is 100% correct about the ratings with mid being 5/10

Sheru

YAAAAYYY!! BLU RAYYY!!

jemmy

yup the one and only

TheSauceGuy

I feel like she's right, but I still don't like that method. I think somewhere between the Geks and the girls' method is what I go by.

TheSauceGuy

my friend and I talk too much and have to rewind stuff lol

indy

heavy on the agree

JaJa

Wait did she just say a physical disk is ancient? Omg 😭how old are you guys? Ngl, I thought all of you were at least 25/26 years old. Were you alive when 9/11 happened?! Lol I was in 2nd grade

Matt Haloostock

I first watched AOT in early 2014 shortly after season 1 finished. I told myself I was only going to watch a few episodes, but boy was I wrong. I ended up watching the first 20 episodes in a single day, and the only reason I stopped was because I didn't want it to be over already. I loved the animation style, music and characters. I was also so intrigued by the mystery of the world. I had to know what was gonna happen and would try to pick up all the details I could to discover the truth of the world - I was definitely obsessed lol. I think this is a great first anime for people who are anime haters. It definitely still has its "anime" moments but the good far outweighs the bad. Glad to see the girls enjoyed it and the boys are finding even more depth and love for the show.

Matt Haloostock

That's why I had to read the manga. I couldn't even make it a few months after finishing season 1 lol

rayman

blue ray is nice and all but the subtitles are prob not the same. and we’re seeing something different than what they’re seeing on the tv so we’re getting different subtitles

Jenny D

Yes, it is

kiiturii

correct, but I still rather have them watching bluray with good subs, of course if they manage to get bluray recorded for us too that would be ideal

kiiturii

man almost nobody around me watches anime and they associate anyone who does as "hentai addicts" or just weirdos in general, so yeah, a lot of people are still like that lol. Just 2 days ago I joined a discord call with my friend and 2 of his friends that I've never met, and the first thing they say is "who's this hentai guy" because of my (completely safe and tasteful) anime pfp, and then called me gay, all jokingly and it was kinda funny, but still

kiiturii

I've actually never noticed that and I've seen s1 so many times lol

Thomas Holman

Thoroughly enjoying the rewatch with the ladies! Great content guys. Keep it coming

ash

omgg that’s crazy, i live in a big city & anime is so mainstream that i didn’t even think of that😭

studiogek

Yeah for whatever reason playing bluray on a computer is beyond complicated. I actually went and compared scenes to season 2 crunchyroll to the bluray I have and they are pretty much identical i think season 1 was just weird sometimes

Coran

It honestly bothers me because we’re paying them to react and they’re just not looking at the screen and missing stuff lol. Haven’t seen any other anime reactors do that regularly.

MissJodles

I actually watched another reaction channel recently where they paused all the midcards to read them and would often reference them when discussion their theories for certain things in the bigger story. This one was definitely a highlight in giving hints at the wider revelations going forward and they talked about this one a lot when coming up with ideas. The midcards are actually so cool for worldbuilding!

Brady

You guys should have showed them the translated midcard from this episode

Pavlo

Armin’s slutty waist…….

beannie

ryley liking armin tells me everything i need to know about her, instant green flag for me

Valor14

I think she said that relative to the world today, not from when she was born. i mean im 23 and i wasnt alive when 9/11 happened but my childhood was full of DVR's and blue ray disks were a rarity for my fam lol (rip family video and blockbuster)

JaJa

Copy copy lol. & aww blockbuster 💔

Madjoe

where is the scene, they talk about in the end where they say annie says she just wants to be seen as a person? i cant find it

Erik Palerik

What is the OVA schedule. Like Ilses notebook.

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Only now on this fifth rewatch I think I found something to complain about. I could have mentioned it in that episode but when Eren and Squad Levi were on their ODM gear it looked as if they were riding on a horse. And yeah this first season is wayyyyy worse than any other season.

draeonic 🪼

She's asking for his opinion. What sense would it make for him to preface his answer with "I don't personally believe this, but"?

Astra

they were probably just trying to reuse scenes to save money because i believe that exact shot of petra is used like 3-4 times but yeah, i just act like its a random flashback since it kinda makes sense in that moment even if it is unnecessary

jrnoodles

Thanks GeksDeluxe! Heso to you too Jack! Funny how Annie captured herself technically.

Safaricat

sure, it's a little creepy but when annie smiles she is so cute. In that moment of her maniacally laughing she is just breathtaking. She barely ever smirks so that moment was stunning.

Zipzzty

“He Has To Become a Monster to overcome it”

Gottolf

"Good person" is a relative term based on subjective perception, knowledge, bias and belief. If someone believes "good person" and "bad person" is a binary state or objective reality that's more of a naive way of thinking. It's also how one man's hero can be another man's villain depending on their personal circumstances, while the hero/villain is objectively being exactly the same person, doing exactly the same things. There's a lot of examples of this in the show demonstrated explicitly through different characters, and the perception of the audience is easily swayed 180 degrees more than once. As the author intended it makes people ask, who's the good guy? Who's the bad guy? While his own answer is that there is no such thing. Armin is his talking piece in this instance. Armin basically says he doesn't believe in the absolutes implied in the term, while people normally use the term relative to themselves, which logically crashes with a more nuanced take. Which in my opinion (and also the authors') is just facts. Ironically the crux of so much of what the show is about. can be found right there. It's a major theme.

jared

"I'll destroy the entire world" 💀

joursh

amazing batch to end the season. love love love armins monologue about good people to annie, it really is so accurate the more you mull on it. and annies transformation is so badass

i think that you guys are giving the MP too much flak, at least nile is definitely getting too much hate. realistically, he's just doing his job, escorting the scouts to the capital for their hearing, and suddenly a titan transforms in the MIDDLE of the city, in broad daylight. while nile's thinking about it and trying to figure out what's happening (hes never seen a titan transformation before), erwin suddenly equips his gear and starts talking about titans in the city. then he finds out the whole "scouts going to the capital" was a ruse on the scouts end, and that this was all planned out from jean being disguised as eren. nile has EVERY right to think erwin is absolutely out of his mind and a lunatic at this point in time. he's actively causing civilian deaths and greenlit the plan that would have a TITAN in the MIDDLE of a populated city in the center of the walls. a common misconception is that nile shirked away from the duties that erwin was going to hand off to him, but it's more so that nile saw erwin's conviction, and that he had clearly planned this out in full beforehand with the belief that this would be a step forward for humanity. realistically, who wouldn't think erwin is a psycho in nile's shoes?
