SEASON 3 BEGINS

Files

Comments

Jude

So ready for season 3 peak

Kim 555

2 minutes after sunrise prayer so I can’t eat my snackies as I watch. This is my 9/11

Grae

SEASON THREEEEEEEE

Papa

This is such a fun series, love how invested into this show they've become. Also PEAK

Seth Aasland

Season 3 is so good. I’m hyped to rewatch this again. Especially the last bit of the season. Also Red Swan is criminally underrated

Austin Kinney

Just when you think it can’t get crazier, season 3 happens

Brady

I’ve probably watched the Levi chase scene 100 times, peak animation

Miitei

Peak continues

misspancakes

Girls were a little too harsh on Pastor Nick but I get it

NMP

So close… still remember how hyped I was when the guys originally got to this point knowing they were close to Shiganshina and Season 4. Time flies

NMP

I know for a fact yall hate Josh Giddey after last night lmao

Seth Aasland

Erwin is so level-headed. Despite the severity of the situation and how delirious Hange was upon finding out what was going to happen to Eren, he doesn’t get frustrated with her and instead calmed her down by giving her water. It truly shows how much he knows his soldiers. Best commander ever.

a_daichi

I just got home 🙌🏾

Owari

Obligatory "KENNYYYYYYYYYY!!"

Jeremy

Wait, huh????

Jake Kaiserman

I can’t wait to see the first time viewers rewatch of these two episodes! There’s a lot happening so it makes sense there were a few things they missed

Jake Kaiserman

Real ones know I needed this after the bama loss

Chrissy

It’s kind of funny how brig was one of the people that saw the show and convinced yall to watch but he seems to forget so much lmao 🤣

Jake Kaiserman

You guys will need a theater for the next group of anime converts

Chrissy

Also I guess no notebook 🙃

GreetswithJudgement

I like to think Erwin is putting on the greatest facade of all time. On the outside he has his shit together but internally he’s crashing out like a madman. He’s screaming “FML!!!”while also being like “What is it Hange? Here have water.”

𝕯𝖎𝖆𝖓𝖆 𖤐

Hola its been a while, Im gonna try to catch up on these. I been gone for so long the app logged me out 💀

GreetswithJudgement

Yay one of my favorite shots in all of anime is finally here!

Seth Aasland

You know, that could also be true lol

GreetswithJudgement

The shit he has to deal with, I couldn’t be level headed but that’s what I love about him. He’s always calm even when he’s probably not and doesn’t have any reason to be. I admire that because I’m the complete opposite. I couldn’t have the patience of this man.

Kim 555

No Ilse's notebook OVA is such a missed opportunity cause it's a very good OVA episode and even you didn't watch it before (I assume) cause you didn't make a reaction to it yet. It is more important to the story than Levi's OVAs

Chrissy

I get it too but idk. I feel like nuance should have been considered. It’s very obvious he believes in what he’s doing/not doing. First introduction I get hating him but idk.

GreetswithJudgement

I forgot Cannon didn't like this intro but it's one of my favorites lol

Pham Hung

Both the guys and gals missed that Levi ACKERMAN was supposed to be a reveal, and that, honestly, is fine haha 2 very loaded episodes, it's almost impossible to catch everything - super happy on the discussion about Armin and Levi conversation though!

smuzu

levi ackerman? How did they not clock he was related to mikasa 😅

Pham Hung

Sannes and Pastor Nick's depth goes up by 10 fold on rewatches, so I understand. I actually think the 2nd watch of AoT is like 1 - 2 points above the first watch. Isayama is truly a hindsight merchant.

marco

I made this comment before, but it's too late for it to hit as hard as it originally should anyway after we get Connie's mom. I mean, sure, there's also a little hint to stuff that happens later, but the main "twist" is just the same thing as Connie's mom basically. Would have been better if they watched it between seasons 1 & 2. Ilse's Notebook foreshadows the reveal which is confirmed after Connie's mum, so it'd be underwhelming now.

Kim 555

Carter, you will pay…

bondbond53

Guys hello? Levi being an ACKERMAN? Means he's related to Mikasa. WILD nobody clocked it

Chrissy

I agree. It’s not like it makes or breaks the show but it exists and there’s definitely a right time to watch it and at this point it has past. I don’t see many new people getting to react to it at the *right* time and it would have been cool too see them theorize and what not.

86 LilaS

The “Levi Ackerman” line flew right over their heads huh?

Kyra Sun

I was wondering what version (tv or blueray) of s3 aot are they watching? are they watching the blueray version for s4 too?

Chrissy

I get this but even on my first watch I wasn’t happy. I saw a devoted man who indeed helped others and died for it. If anything I hated their government/police more.

bondbond53

Gotta say, no matter how cool a lot of the scenes in this half of the season are, WIT studio really butchered this arc from the manga. You guys were talking at the end about complexity but the manga section here is light years ahead. That's why I find people wilding when fans uphold WIT to high heavens because you know if MAPPA did this all hell would break loose. WIT also butchered a lot of Mikasa's early dialogue and scenes and had her say 'Eren' 100 too many times compared to the manga. MAPPA deserves its lashings for how they treat their animators but in AoT's case they stayed very faithful to the source and elevated scenes

Chrissy

Also the animation is just amazing. Literally my dream to do this kind of stuff. So amazing!

Kae D. en

So nobody is gonna react to the Levi last name reveal???!!!!

Pepperoni Pony .

AoT is so much fun on the rewatches. It looks like they caught something about certain people that the First Interior Squad had tortured and killed, but I don't know if they caught all of them. Way back in season 1, before the Wall fell, Armin tells Eren that his parents were planning on using a hot air balloon to go over the wall on an expedition.

M1GZ

No ilse’s notebook?

Pham Hung

While I am not going to disagree with everything you said, it's good to keep in mind that the anime could be considered AoT 1.2 because Isayama worked pretty closely with both studios to "refine" his work so I wouldn't blame WIT entirely here. It's actually a joint decision to shorten this arc to get to the really good stuff. I am personally fine with the changes - it's just a bit hectic on a first watch and I do agree that Mikasa's character can use the development - at least for more relaxed viewers who aren't psycho-analysing her every move (she actually has a pretty neat and deep character arc but it does take more effort to unravel).

Brig Andrus

I mean it’s been almost 3 years and we’ve watched like 50 shows on the channel 😂😭.

Brig Andrus

I remember all of the important stuff

Segen

pls don't tell me the drops are gonna be 2 episodes from now on 😅

Chrissy

Haha it’s not a big deal. I just find it kind of funny. 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s quirky! Not a bad thing. Sometimes it can suck to remember everything.

Chrissy

Also I’m genuinely surprised none of yall have rewatched before now! Not it a mean way, I just mean I couldn’t stop myself from watching again and watching reactions to big moments 😂 it’s just so good I can’t get enough

Chrissy

This was my first thought haha 😭

Alex Ramirez

I'm late, but still excited to see the girls' reaction to Kenny.

Sean Carroll

Not everyone remembers that name

Alex Ramirez

Most of the AoT drops have been 2 episode batches. They just switched it up for the season 1 finale and all of season 2.

Sean Carroll

Why are people complaining that the girls don’t remember a damn surname. Very few reactors ever react to that reveal because they just don’t remember all character surnames. And frankly it’s not super important, it will be explained later anyway

holyfuckingobito

I wonder if the boys should watch banana fish..

Artemipsyche

That’s what I came here to say…I don’t think they caught it 😂

studiogek

Due to some scheduling issues around the beginning of summer most drops will be 3 eps from here on out

Mike

i notice that the girls don't care much about action or good animation, they usually look away during those scenes. Instead they pick up on insane plot details and hidden dialogue clues, things that i never picked up on even after my first rewatch. Interesting contrast compared to you guys first watch through.

ainsley

LEVI IN THE GRAY T SHIRT🔥🔥

lololol

HAHAHAHAA

John Ferreira

Not the subtle Levi last name reveal being completely missed😭😂 I don't blame the crew though, the guys are so used to knowing it that it doesn't even register lol

jblakk

Who had Riley yelling Kenny on their bingo book lol. Not me. Insane character development.

A.G

Saying he should of died a worse death was too far

Chrissy

Let’s goooo

notchrisramirez

SEASON 1: Just a simple revenge story about killing Titans SEASON 2: Oh man, these friends I trusted are actually the titans who I wanted to kill SEASON 3: COMPLICATED POLITICAL THRILLER ABOUT GOV CORRUPTION AND SECRET HERITAGE LINES AND ROYAL SUCCESSION SEASON 4: IYKYK....

Chrissy

Haha it’s actually kind funny seeing this type of comment from you! No hate but you come off very analytical and matter of fact. I’m just surprised to see you give some grace with this type of thing. It’s nice!

Chrissy

If any of the newbies I would bet on her haha! She can be quiet but is locked in!

WhynefineT

Fun fact 20:22 This cut was done by amai he also worked on jujutsu kaisen season 2 episode 4. Which is why this cut and toji kicking geto looks very similar.

Matt Haloostock

Man, every season is so good. I can't wait to see how this season progresses for the girls. Apart from the big reveal about Levi, there is another reveal that was dropped that went pretty much unnoticed - the couple that was killed by the Sannes and his partner. I don't think the guys really noticed it on their first watch tho.

Kd

No cap yall should watch Monster together kinda mystery thriller type vibe like this n death note

a_daichi

lmao not kennyyyy LI

WhynefineT

On rewatch, so far these 2 ep are the one I enjoyed the most yet. I love grounded talks

ShadowCat

Omg same! I was waiting for the freakout at that name drop, and just silence lol to be fair, that was a LOT of info dropped real quick.

celery

No spare them 🙏

ShadowCat

I live for Cannons face when they showed the teacher and the hot air balloon part, realizing now who those individuals were. 😆 The re-watch is mind boggling.

a_daichi

Oh man you just reminded me that I need to pick that back up! I stopped around ep 10-12 because life got hectic but man it started off amazing

a_daichi

Ngl I did not catch the Levi name reveal on first watch either haha

Sean Carroll

And the “whore from the sticks” being historias mother

Sean Carroll

That’s not a reveal. That’s only extra detail that the fans can tell you. There is nothing from that explanation that would have you immediately jump to armins parents

Sean Carroll

I’ll always laugh at the episode where mikasa confronts Dimo reeves in season 1 and Ryley was so quiet and then all of a sudden says “YEAH KILL HIM”

Sean Carroll

I’m guessing you’re referring to my game of thrones comments? I’ll forgive reactors for missing things if the show very rarely or doesn’t explicitly refer to something as important before a reveal like this happens. Also since it’s just a bloody surname it by itself doesn’t hold any real meaning. It’s only important when you learn later that ackermans all share a certain power. Maybe there is also the fact that I never cared about the Ackerman storyline itself so it doesn’t bother me as much when people don’t say “HOLY SHIT THEY GOT THE SAME SURNAME” On the flip side game of thrones fucked up its own writing and plot from season 5 onwards where basically nothing made sense to what came before it. Aot doesn’t have that problem

Matt Haloostock

It's a reveal enough. Early in the show, unless I'm mistaken and it's manga only, Armin says his parents left to travel the world in a hot air balloon. Sannes says he killed a stupid couple who tried to fly with an air balloon. Iirc, that's all we get on the matter. When I first watched the show, I always assumed they were most likely eaten by titans, but him saying that reveals that they were killed before they could even make the trip instead.

Zu

It is a reveal, but a very hard one to remember on the first watch. Armin mentions it so early on in S1 that it doesn't seem too significant. Having it tie in two seasons later, it's not surprising that it would fly over people's heads. That's the beauty of the rewatch though is picking up on all the small details that was easily missed haha

Cannon Andrus

I can’t believe how many people are mad at the girls for not catching Levi’s name. Chilllllll fellas!

Zu

Agreed and I'm sure the guys fill the girls in on any major important details that might have been initially missed if asked so not a big deal but can't please everyone lol

Chrissy

Haha I feel you but not quite what I mean. I’ve seen you on other Patreons and I’ll say while some of the stuff might be harsh but you aren’t wrong and while of course I couldn’t verbatim say what you said… you had some pretty strong options with the geks their first time around I believe. Again no hate. I actually get a chuckle out of what you say because I think I’m similar. I just don’t voice it. So it was an interesting surprise to see you so patient about something. And like you said maybe it had to do with the whole Ackerman thing. Personally my first watch i was so interested but * SPOILER * I was really disappointed with how this was fleshed out. While mikasa and other female characters weren’t sex objects they were just still just stepping stones for male characters. Which is a whole different conversation. I still love them but yea. Anyway. I just had a little laugh to myself seeing you so positive because you are a very critical person. And I don’t mean that negativity honestly. I’m hyper critical myself so. I find your comments relatable.

Chrissy

I caught it my first watch but my dumb ass thought Levi was Asian like mikasa for a min 😂

Sean Carroll

That is false. In episode 5 armins direct quote is this. “My mom and dad say they’re going beyond the walls soon” In the manga he never refers to his parents. Therefore the mention of a hot air balloon never occurs so connecting the dots that the couple is armins parents is unable to be done by what is explained to us from the story. It’s only now that we know from either isayama or the fandom that we know who the couple are The mikasa ova also references the hot air balloon which was technically released a few weeks before episode 2 of season 3 released so that’s the only instance of a hot air balloon being mentioned

a_daichi

wait is this a mini spoiler

Juanpa_20

I laugh cuz the girls ship Levi and Mikasa 🤣wait till they find out 🤣🤣

Chrissy

Nah. They’ve seen her parents. But also mom or dad same difference

Kiyoh

no glaze i still can't believe that levi chase sequence is real. studio wit cooked

Chrissy

I genuinely love this. So many people seem to not pick up on what happens to Armin’s parents. Even though in like season 1 (I think) he tells Eren how his parents are gonna escape the walls. I know Armin isn’t underrated but it seems quite a few people don’t actually known his backstory. Tbf it’s not like he gets a whole episode dedicated to it but with flash backs and other characters scenes it’s really clear what happened

ShadowCat

Right? And Armin has no idea the guy that killed his parents is right downstairs.

Sean Carroll

“NOOOOOOOOOOO THEY DIDNT GET THE SURNAME OF THIS CHARACTER ARRRRGGGGHHHHH” Weirdos bruv

Sean Carroll

The hot air balloon couple is very difficult to attribute to armins parents given that it’s not explicitly obvious

Chrissy

Ya think? I thought it was. Armin mentioned a couple times his parents wanting to explore and it’s where he got the book in the first place. Maybe it’s not obvious in the scene… it’s just a background detail. Though I think it’s obvious personally

Sean Carroll

Oh ok I don’t recognise you, what other patreons were we both in? I disagree with your comment about female characters in aot, can you give further explanation because mikasa to me seems like the only example of what you say

Sean Carroll

It’s weird that people use the word “glaze” these days to describe praising something Kids these days are strange

Sean Carroll

The couple who tried to fly could be damn near anyone at first glance, we’ve never known that hot air balloons or flying transport is available to people in the walls. Also armin mentions it once so I don’t think it’s obvious at all that it is his parents. If the scene maybe showed them zoomed in with similar hair to armins it might make it more obvious but the scene itself is a random soldier describing horrible acts he has committed. From an audience point of view this random guy giving the reveal about armins parents seems a strange choice.

Nah I’d win

How is that strange? Slang changing has been a thing forever

Zu

Banana Fish mentioned. Person of culture I see

ShadowCat

Dude, chill. You do not need to come attack every comment connecting Armins parents to the hot air balloon. It's a fun rewatch and we're all just vibing.

Ollie

Why aren't you guys watching any intros? I'm sure I missed some vital info on this very early on haha

Sean Carroll

Slang itself is fine but the word glaze is a strange one. We all know what people mean when we use the word glaze and so to use it as a word to over describe praise is just weird to me

DietCocaine

Is it really even that important like I can’t remember his reveal being important or having any effect on the story at all

DietCocaine

Cuz it has no real impact on the story

GreetswithJudgement

They contain Spoilers for the girls and the Geks never watch intros. They watch them and rate them once the shows have been completed 🙂

DietCocaine

They expect people to faint when they find out mikasa and levi are related. It’s really not that important or shocking tbh

ShadowCat

A man of taste, I see.

Kiyoh

unfortunately the council on slang has already decided the fate of the word i will take your concerns up with them during our next meeting

Chrissy

This is gonna be long winded sorry. And it doesn’t 100% sum up all my thoughts but.. Jared/Jordan and triple take and while I can’t name them I feel I’ve seen your name elsewhere. Also the original GEK reaction. I don’t think you’d recognize me. I almost never comment. Partly because the videos I come across are older and because other times I just keep to myself. For example I’ve been apart of this community for almost a year and was watching the YouTube videos for a couple months before, but I’m just a shy person. Anyways. On to the point. I LOVE mikasa. I love Ymir (freckles) I even love the very side character hitch. They are all unique and just people. I think media and anime in particular can struggle with this. Girls and women can just be people. And AOT does it so well. And I appreciate in a sea of fan service we got a story that didn’t need to degrade their female characters but they could still be strong, beautiful and impactful to the story. But for argument sake. When I mentioned mikasa and her Ackerman ability and her Asian ancestry. I found it really interesting because I always loved her but in the end these things didn’t seem to matter much. And when they DID matter it was to help/stop the mc. I just feel there was a bit of build up and character development to amount to just the “lover”. Example mikasa and Annie. Don’t get me wrong. Like I said I love and appreciate how the female characters aren’t sexualized but I do think they could have make more of an impact. Historia is a prime example. so much potential to be a back drop. I LOVE AOT. I grew up with it. I watched it when it first aired and I still cry when I watch it. I personally believe it’s a masterpiece. But That doesn’t mean perfect. Mikasa the female lead could have been more. That’s all. But I still love it. I’m kind of nitpicking here. But I stand by it.

Sean Carroll

Chill is a word used to calm someone down from their anger or frustration. Me commenting that the person is wrong does not constitute being angry or frustrated and therefore I do not need to chill Also me replying to people saying they are wrong is not “attacking them” I am also having fun on the rewatch and I am also ViBiNg

Chrissy

Sure it could be anyone. But from the perspective of story telling it’s obviously his parents imo.

Sean Carroll

But it’s not obvious though. Obvious is defined as “easily perceived or understood, clear, self evident or apparent” If 99% of viewers or readers don’t glean the fact that they are armins parents is the reveal obvious?? No it is not. While we know what the answer is and can link the connecting points the answer in itself is still not obvious

Branflakes

Damn bro I have watched this show like (no lie) 20-30 times and I never caught that until you said it lmao what a show.

kuza

Eve looking away from the tv on levis ODM scene got me a lil heated ngl 😭😭

kuza

even if for a moment that scenes too goated 🤣🤣🤣

Ollie

I'd be careful with comments here Spoiler: I think saying "people within the walls" has it's implications

Alex

yooo the Levi odm scenes go crazy! mappa really should have taken notes XD

Ollie

First watch I didn't love season 3 somehow, yet this time around it's cooking, I can't believe how good it is 🔥🔥

rayman

because they made him literally look asian for some reason.

TheSauceGuy

They started this season a bit ago, so it's still possible. I'd like for them to watch them before the mid season finale or earlier.

TheSauceGuy

Cannon, Red Swan is one of my favorite intros too; it's probably second only to S4 P2.

wanira 11

Just came here to say: KENNNYEEEEAAAHHHH

TheSauceGuy

I love the little details like the bruises/marks on the MP's hand that Hange was holding. It allows observant viewers to deduce what happened before Hange even says anything.

Zipzzty

Goat peak is here

Zipzzty

Fr PEAK SEASON

Zipzzty

PEAK SEASON

TheSauceGuy

That ODM gear scene with Levi has to be one of the most iconic scenes in the show.

Sean Carroll

Armin never told eren anything about a hot air balloon. All he said was my parents are going to leave the walls. The hot air balloon was never once mentioned

GreetswithJudgement

Dang I guess I misunderstood in the old reactions. For some reason I thought you hated it lol

Juanca

Facts!!

TheSauceGuy

I assume it came from "sugar coating," but I do feel Gen Z doesn't have the most diverse vocabulary lol. Literacy rates in the US are declining across all age groups, so it's not surprising. Some Gen Z slang words/phrases are ironically funny, but others are just painful. I have a coworker who's like 40 or something and he uses Gen Z slang so naturally, but it's still the funniest thing to me.

TheSauceGuy

I know Carter was just using it as an example to compare to killing titans, but does anyone else not like killing bugs? I almost always catch bugs in my house and put them outside lol. I remember calling my cousin a "horrible person" as a kid for squishing ants.

TheSauceGuy

I'm so excited for the end of this season and season 4 😭

Terry C

I'm so confused why none of you brought up the fact that they missed Levi's last name reveal... If they miss something that the show/author intends for the viewer to catch, it should be your job to fill them in, not just ignore it.

TheSauceGuy

Mappa animators were SOOOOO overworked for AoT.

Jan Sterle

Please do not watch the outro of episode 12, cuz there are spoilers and you figure the plot of s3 part 2 too easily

Yo Dani

they are rewatching it. only the girls are seeing it for the first time

Chosos Wife

There's literally no point. There is a moment in the show later on where Levi talks to Mikasa about it and makes it more obvious

Chosos Wife

RED SWAN SUPREMACY ♥️ It's my all time favourite intro, makes me cry every time especially after finishing the whole show. Eren with little Eren 😭

Chosos Wife

I hate it when people get annoyed. There's literally a moment later when levi and mikasa talk about it which is when I only noticed to be fair. I don't keep people's last names stored in my brain for big reveals 🤣

Chosos Wife

I hate it when people get annoyed about people missing the last name reveal. There's literally a moment later when levi and mikasa talk about it which is when I only noticed to be fair. I don't keep people's last names stored in my brain for big reveals 🤣

Alex

MAPPA animators have been overworked in multiple projects sadly. There’s a lot about the MAPPA aot stuff I like but there’s so many downsides to the quality that came from the work environment. No shade on the actual animators I know they all wanted to put out the best product they could… sometimes studios just get in the way of that

ReyZiegler

Levi: "I can move my leg well enough" Also Levi: *Cirque du Soleil intensifies*

Terry C

That’s as stupid as saying there’s no point in season 2 episode 6 “warrior” cause they also mention Reiner and Bertholt being titans in later episodes too. That episode was supposed to be Levi’s last name reveal. I’m also the conversation with Mikasa they talk about Kenny’s last name, not Levi’s.

MissJodles

I never kill bugs (except mosquitoes). I love them, if there’s ever a spider in my house I just let it chill or take it outside.

MissJodles

Nah for real, the magical thing about separate manga and anime adaptions is that they can make things that ARE cannon and different from the manga, and Isayama can agree to add further details that he didn’t before. It is a purposeful detail that is added with the exact intention of being Armin’s parents and no one is wrong for saying that just because the manga doesn’t mention it. If anything, every single thing in the anime, every line and shot, is crafted with specific intention and purpose. Just chill and let people enjoy the ANIME reveals as much as they want. They’re not wrong, you’re just arguing a moot point because it’s not the manga.

Natsu Hamtaro

It's in the show so why skip it dude x)

Sean Carroll

WHAAAAATTTTTT NOOOOOO HOW COULD THIS BE

Sean Carroll

From my point of view your original comment sounds like this “No glaze but I really like that scene with Levi, wit studio did a fantastic job with it. Using the word glaze did not feel necessary at all in your sentence, it just seems like the popular word people use these days to praise something. Also people use the term glaze to describe a sexual act so maybe that’s why it seems strange to me.

Sean Carroll

Missjodles: how is me correcting someone’s false information or mistake also me taking away peoples enjoyment of the reveal. The two don’t correlate at all. I certainly like the information reveal about armins parents myself but that doesn’t mean I won’t comment on the person making a wrong statement if they are wrong. Also if you read my comment you’d see that I referred to both the anime and manga, the only time armin mentions his parents in the show is in episode 5 when he says his parents are leaving the wall soon, he never mentions a hot air balloon like the top comment says he does, that is all I’m arguing here.

jrnoodles

Thanks GeksDeluxe! This is the start of me getting so lost in the plot the first time I watched.

Kiyoh

literally none of the words i used were necessary at all. my opinion as a whole is unnecessary, and so is yours. the only thing strange here is taking issue with such a simple comment. i genuinely thought you were joking at first or socially unaware because it was so random. you're in the comments section of a patreon post about attack on titan acting like the arbiter of human literacy. it isn't even just my comment, you're replying to multiple people intentionally being obnoxious. relax. not everyone uses patreon the same way they use linkedin. i promise it is not that deep. you don't need to police everything, it's all good. i don't fw (i don't enjoy) arguing over pointless things or being rude so take care and enjoy the rest of your day 🙏

Durarara

Make sure they see the 3x12 ending credits :)

Sav

I was looking for you, I was so scared lost in these comments😔

Sav

Finally found you🥺🩷

Sav

You need to find my comment to you on one of the videos hehe I left a hello for you 😂🩷

Goat

I could feel aot's animators sighing every time Levi's action scenes had to be animated 😂

mk

Not every clue/reveal is there to be picked up on a first watch.

Daniella

I love how Isayama gave a good balance of no Levi in season 2 to him being almost at the forefront of everything that happens this season. Also, him in that grey shirt unlocked something in me...🥰

Jan Sterle

I know that the girls are the only one that are seeing the show for the first time. Problem with this scene is that it brings nothing to the table except spoilers. The reason the scene is part of the show is because fans back in 2018 could't wait for the second part so they put a little "hype" scene there.

Conk

15:58 I didnt know Jack was a KSI fan!!

Ollie

Ah cool, I thought so! I was hoping that to be the case since they did that on the first watch haha :) the songs are just too good!

Dorak

hell no, they should watch it, you watched it the first time so did everyone else watching on their own

Dorak

because it doesn't matter and they talk about it in 2 episodes or something when they go to rescue Eren and explicitly make the connection there

a_daichi

I would kill bugs but it grosses me out ha so I definitely don’t enjoy it even then

Jan Sterle

Meh, it's just stupid and predictable

jerry

yeah it really has no effect on the characters or their actions for a while until it's explained.

jerry

I get wanting to avoid spoilers but I think they're depriving themselves of part of the experience by not watching in real time.

Ollie

I didn't watch them on my first time so I get it but I just liked listening to the songs sometimes cause they're so good

MsGypsophila

this is the season that will make you ask the REAL question.. for some reason i kept singing my war whenever i see the characters realize the real deal...

Chrissy

Meh idk. Ik your just making a point but I doubt the percentage would be that high. To me, it was insanely obvious. It was a puzzle piece that fit perfect. Armin doesn’t have parents. He mentions his parents are gonna go outside the walls in a flashback. We see how far the military police will go to protect the secrets. Along with Erwin’s dad and historian’s mom, a couple is mentioned. To me that’s obvious. There’s no reason to think it’s just a random couple imo. If most people don’t make that connection that’s actually kinda shocking to me 😅 to me that falls under the definition you provide. It’s just obvious to me.

Melizé

Sav! 🥺❤️ I'm happy you found me 🥹

Billie

ok maybe s3 is my fav, then s2 but s2 I love a lot.

Sean Carroll

You are one example out of millions of people who watched the show and didn’t figure this out. Therefore for the majority of people it is not obvious. I was talking about the majority, you were talking about one example (yourself) Also of course it’s not 99% you took that literally when I used it as a way to explain my point

Goatchis

I agree, it's literally just shock factor that devalued the scene that comes like 5 eps later

Vlad Blue

I did not know season 2 was only 12 episodes. Was there a reason as to why it was so short?

Jan Sterle

Exactly my point but people don't realize that.

TheSauceGuy

To me, the ones that actively seek you out to bite you are an exception. I still don't like it, but I'd rather not be covered in itchy bumps.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

Riley took off Levi’s “Kennyyyyy!”is the best moment of this reaction 😅

ruthyrooo

Me at the beginning of season 3: I need answers! This is too slow!! Episode 3 and onward: slow down that’s too much!

Neon

please turn down the exposure sometime 🙏 most of your posts are overexposed haha

Terry C

There's a difference between clues and reveals. Reveals are what the author intends the viewers to get.

Terry C

They make the connection of Kenny and Mikasa. However, if they completely missed or didn't catch Levi's lastname reveal, then it doesn't hit as hard.

Jmann

Yes I agree it’s so hard to watch in a dark room because they’re room is so much brighter than the show, but they don’t seem to care

S Moonchild⁷

there is an episode in Sponge Bob, where him and Squidward believe that Mr Krabs is a robot. There is a scene where they tie him to interrogate and Sponge Bob slaps Mr Krabs and Squidward is like "Sponge Bob you gotta ask a question first" and Sponge bob says "what color is my underwear?", proceeds to slap him without waiting for his answer. Levi and Hange are Sponge Bob and Squidward to me.

Sam M

Dude I was thinking of that exact same thing during that scene lmao

Goatchis

Would love this but it will never happen they will watch every mainstream shonen before something like monster or steins gate

Dakota

Bro I forgot how freaking fast season 3 takes off lmao so insane

Matt Haloostock

Definitely wasn't trying to start anything with this comment. Just wanted to bring attention to the fact that Armin's parents were killed by the military police. Despite arguments here, I personally noticed it on my first time reading the manga 11 years ago, without anyone else saying anything, but I don't expect everyone else to. I haven't read the beginning in a long time though so I can't explain why I came to that conclusion. I wasn't trying to make a dig at anyone, especially the girls, just wanted to point it out since the guys didn't comment on it at all in the post commentary.

Sean Carroll

Clearly the storyline in season 2 had reached its natural end and then a new storyline was introduced in season 3.

Sean Carroll

I wasn’t trying to be a dick by the way, just correcting your mistake but sadly there are people out there who think I’m attacking you for correcting you.

Matt Haloostock

I feel like it's just arguing semantics really, I didn't take it personal. I don't remember exactly what I read or watched in the manga/anime years ago but I do remember what I thought when things came to light tho

TrueCrisp

1000% agree watching game of thrones with this exposure was hard it was so bright

TheSauceGuy

They had to wait for new material from the manga iirc, so that's at least why the wait was so long. I think it was the best point to end the season, at least based on plot development.

TheSauceGuy

true, they could just close their eyes and listen lol

TheSauceGuy

valid tho fr fr ong no cap

TheSauceGuy

I hope they do for season 4 as it improves so many things, but it sucks that we can't see it. Well, we can, but only if they watch it on some other site and record it from there. Considering they bought the Blu-Ray discs, I don't see any reason they should be opposed to it, at least morally.

TheSauceGuy

didn't he literally say "one of my favorite intros"

Ollie

Yeah that's what they did for the OG watchthrough I think 😆

TheSauceGuy

If they're going to watch the Lost Girls OVAs (they should), then they could always watch it along with the first two. It'd be so fun to see the girls' reactions to Ilse's Notebook lol. They were definitely aware of the OVAs, probably even before starting even season 2. I actually asked Bradlynn to mention it to Carter, which I imagine she did, considering she responded. The fact that we only got "we're unsure" as an explanation from Carter is odd to me. What is there to even be unsure about? Watch what you want, but when so many people (who are paying you to be able to do this) want you to react to something, I don't think it's unreasonable to AT LEAST know why you didn't/don't plan to.

Kiyoh

can't be losing aura unc on 4nem type shit

TheSauceGuy

I think this would be better tbh

TheSauceGuy

It's because they know nothing

TheSauceGuy

Yes, except Mr. Krabs is the one to tell SpongeBob to ask questions first, while Squidward is disturbed by Spongebob lol.

marco

Doesn't Armin specifically talk about how his parents tried to leave the walls? Maybe it's because I read the manga, but I swear he even mentions the hot air balloon.

waughrus

These reactions are awesome, the heat is rising for Armin, Eren, and the others. 😉

mk

Always be careful on what you think an author intended or not. For me this feels like a typical "can be picked up as a reveal, but will be hard-revealed later on" by the characters directly talking about it.

Coran

They wouldn’t like it because it’s an anime about a gay couple

holyfuckingobito

And you my friend clearly haven't watched it

Melizé

It was in the OVA iirc ♥️

Melizé

S3 Levi in that grey long sleeve shirt... 🔥🫠🥵

Teraofmarcus

Its time for things to get real wild!!

saida

i was three episodes into monster when i took an extended break for no reason. it's my best friend's favourite show and only three episodes in, i'm enjoying it a lot. might be a naive take but it already reminds me of aot (and not just because it's set in germany). GONNA GO BACK TO WATCHING IT ASAP!

Jan Sterle

When's the next one dropping?

G

today

G

I hope

Jan Sterle

Haha well its almost midnight in my country xD

James Burge

Bruh first half of season 3 is absolutely insane on a rewatch I can’t wait for episode 6

Jenny D

I'm really liking this season so far. We're finally getting some answers, but also more questions as well.

Ollie

I feel like season 3 cooks more overall but the highlights of season 2 are amazing. The Reiner and Bunkbed reveal is still my favourite scene.

Billie

I agree

rian

hell yeah season threes my favorite

Thelcia

I cant wait for their reaction to s4, but we already on s3 and im so hyped- one of the best seasons ever!!

ibrahim siblini

I like how everyone didnt react to "Levi ACKERMAN is that type if guy"

Zipzzty

KENNY Iconic Scene

Stairguy

No we realize your point. We just disagree. It's ok, we don't all have to agree. I read the manga first so it didn't really matter as a spoiler. But I still like it. It doesn't really spoil it other than there's A conflict. You have NO idea why so it builds anticipation.

Zyuki

fr i was like aint no way

joursh

KEENNNAYYYY -ryley 😂😂😂

joursh

rip hange squad members; nifa, keiji, and abel. they weren't really prevalent characters but were consistently involved in key missions and were trusted and top class scouts.

joursh

levi is an absolute mf unit

joursh

really love jeans internal conflict with the whole situation, not know whats right, and hesitating to kill people. he's really the most humane person in levi squad and has strong morals as well. it's interesting to see how he develops when this whole arc is a foil to him as a character and what he stands for. also love the callback AGAIN from levi, not knowing whats right and whats wrong.

joursh

wait... sannes dialogue about his work and the people he's culled is insane on a rewatch... armins parents, erwins father, historias mom

JoLen

Damn Levi’s last name went over their heads lol
