It’s a goated Backstory but it’s rare to see Anyone Even Have it Close To Top 5

Zipzzty

Mary Geoise Gave them permission 🤔

Shaun V

OHHH REFRESH OF HEAVEN LETS FUCKING GOOOO

wanira 11

Hey guys if you're going to do LRLL with one pace (which I strongly recommend) I should remind you that 1 canon scene is missing in the one pace version, it's important for later so I recommend watching that scene in normal one piece and then picking up the one pace from there. The scene on crunchyroll is in ep 207 and is from the start of the episode until 8:40.

Marcus D

I don’t think it’s that rare tbh. People don’t often bring it up themselves but if you ask you’ll find many people revere it highly

Marcus D

Love the gold light setting in honour of skypiea

Zipzzty

It’s in my top 10 But Top 5 Is Pretty Rare IMO haven’t seen many people that have it in top 5

Marcus D

I’m ready for more peak

Zipzzty

Goated Refresh

Shaun V

I never even realised that the first line Kalgara hears when shandora lands on the clouds and the god+angels appear "I hereby claim this land as my own, I am god." is another level of meaning to him since it was him defying their ideas of 'god' with Noland, that was a pivotal moment for his character and beliefs in progress. That's why he says "God, my ass" so defiantly, because the concept of god and sacrificing things to god's (his daughter and people, but now the very land they live on) based on that principle alone is already something he's previously had to confront and reject

Zipzzty

Oda Stays Cooking

Isabell

Can't wait for the next big arcs

wanira 11

Good observation!

Gilster

Lmao Brig must've seen Luffy's latest anime moment with that sussy question. The edits are hard to avoid

David

Ngl One pace skipped alot of dialogue in these episodes

adabooo

not any manga dialogue tho which is what's important

JojoJack

Also the beginning of episode 225 is canon material and is not included in any one pace of LLRL, especially before the arrival of 🥶

ahmad

Excited for the finale 🔥🔥 Glad you guys are enjoying the arc. Also I agree about One Pace elevating this arc, it's just objectively better imo

Monkey D. Momo

The issue with One Pace is that it leaves out stuff that is or might be there for a reason. In total, i think One Pace has its purpose but never forget that it is made by fans and not Oda. Regarding it being closer to the manga: Oda talks to Toei to add specific scenes or to add stuff he forgot. Remember when the Geks complained about watching Logue Town filler that wasnt in the manga? That was canon that Oda did not get the chance to add for the manga Release, so he made them add it to the anime. Ps: i dont trust fans. Same idiots who said to just skip the arc or that One Piece is not political lol

Promanex(Alex)

One Pace is amazing man especially when you guys are enjoying so much, I would suggest keep using it until there are some cool animation sequences start happening in the show because the only down side of One Pace is that it cuts everything not in the manga so sometimes when the anime finally have a cool original animation sequence that added more to the show from the manga gets cut. But it rarely happens I would say it’s only 5% of the show until modern One Piece.

wanira 11

The bible, Shakespeare and One Piece lol but yea actually deserved

Qhoa

W

Frozzen Edge

the reason people say one pace is bad is because some one piece fans are weird... the type of people that will tell teachers at school that someone cheated during exam

Mitch

#Deletetiktokfrombrigsphone

Mitch

Yea they did tbh I think they went a little excessive with the amount cut out

Nash

Aokiji Piece🧊

This is not entirely true, Oda has said that he barely has any involvement any longer with the anime and that he has entrusted it to the directors. So it might be true at first what you’re saying, but not anymore, and there is more filler and dragged-out scenes than there is an added scene by Oda back in the day anyway. And another point the fans that create One Pace whole purpose is to make it closer to the manga so it is a better option.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

I like G8, but I hope not. Especially not if we’re sticking to two episodes uploaded per week.

Luffers

Why did Nolan even tell this king about the city of gold? Obviously they are going to want to loot it.

beannie

"dreams" are such a huge theme in this saga and in the show in general, that's why the conflicts and resolutions here feel so full of the soul and heart that are put into one piece. luffy is such a goat, he's such a good portrayal of freedom. and yes brig, i wish ya'll could binge this show too🥲

Zipzzty

Luffy the epitome of freedom

Zipzzty

Going to be peak

Marcus D

Nolan was going on voyages under his Kingdom’s name, and he even needs the world government’s permission to do. Hence the kingdom’s name being on Nolan’s ship’s main sail. So it’s just protocol to report to the king and im sure he didn’t expect rat behaviour due to Nolan’s good nature and also as he’s returned home from many voyages seemingly without issue.

EmlovesOP

This do people not know oda consults with the anime team

Marcus D

Luffy is going to give the world a golden shower, is that what you said McKay?🤨

EmlovesOP

One piece really makes u hate these villains. Can we end the arc with the next watch double watch pls. Skypiea def an arc that I would prefer to read. And one pace is cool but I don’t need it after LRLL for a long time

Mitch

I love how yall brought that up at the end that Luffy doesn’t really care about defeating Enel he just wants to ring the bell and clear Montblancs name. Like Canon said in any other anime the MC would say “I must defeat you and save this city” but Luffy subverts those tropes so well. The dreams thing ties back to the very beginning of the arc with Blackbeards “people dreams never end” speech, the dream of ringing the bell lasted 400 years and Luffy recognizes how important this is to montblanc and now by extension himself. Just A1 writing.

Marcos

He is being a naughty boy no more one piece TikTok for you lol

Mitch

Anything before episode 890, One pace is valid (besides MF and Sab).

desolate leng

Yeah, the uncut anime does terrible, terrible things to this story. And in a way that makes it really hard to explain what the problem really is, becuse it's not one or two big things, it's a myriad of small changes/additions. Death of a thousand cuts, if you will, lol. Anyway, now BOTH peoples have had their homes taken from them. I was also really shocked the first time I saw Raigō just obliterate the whole island, not leaving anything behind. Also, I think this is a really good showcasing of Luffy's personality. Like you said, he's not doing this for the greater good, he's mainly doing this because he liked Cricket. But it shows how Luffy thinks about things too: a lot of people tend to say that he doesn't think about things because he doesn't have thought bubbles (although he occasionally does, as a matter of fact/nitpick), but what happens is that his actions show how he has reflected on what's going on. I love that Nami, of all people tells him to give up on the gold, though. And the way Ener just kicks Luffy's hand off like that, with that small kick, just cracks me up.

Marcos

Just fyi don’t why it’s translated as “endless vearth” since it’s “fairy vearth”.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

The parts “skipped” only have for purpose to stretch the narrative. The part specifically cut out from this episode made Wyper unnecessarily annoying because it was a repeat of him just being mad about Luffy going after Enel because he wanted to do it himself. He basically was on the same type of time he was on when he first shot a cannon at Luffy. He wasted screen time just arguing with Robin and the others over it. While some scenes don’t flow as well in One Pace because it’s literally translating panels into animated scenes, it is still better. I really had Skypiea at the bottom of my top 10 before this.

Veronia

Yh, the last one pace ep of LRLI is really weird- definitely recommend watching the first 5 eps on one pace and switching back to regular one piece instead of watching it in one pace as ep 6

Zipzzty

Oda the goat

JeanJean

Wonder if W7 in One Pace is worth it, since it's considered to be goat arc for many (myself included) Been a long time since I watched it though, not sure if there were moments that were dragged out.

wanira 11

But there are actually two more regular one piece eps that belong to skypeia that haven't been adapted in to one pace yet, so actually it's 4 eps left to finish the arc. Two one pace eps and two regular one piece eps

wanira 11

I woudn't do W7 with one pace, the regular version is perfect. Ennies Lobby tho is debatable

Poragami

can we please have 2eps again? it goes by so fast lmao

desolate leng

Oda does not, in fact, consult with the anime team, normally. He has said this mutliple times in the Q&A sections in the manga, because (Japanese) fans kept writing to him and asking anime questions and he had to tell them that he really has no influence. He generally keeps a good-humoured tone and says that he's happy the anime team are being creative with the material (I mean, could you even imagine him saying anything else), but he makes it clear that he isn't involved. There's even an instance for the very chapter that these episodes adapted! That Oda "intended" for the novelization of Logue Town (that was written by Tatsuya Hamazaki) to be part of the main plot is a persistent rumour that I have never seen a source on. The anime, lest you forget, is not made by Oda either. One pace uses the manga, which IS written by Oda, as a reference. It's not as if they're adding their own material.

JeanJean

Not even a huge One Piece fan but this is bad faith. The whole is more than just the sum of its parts, an episode is built with a specific structure and taking out scenes can just make an episode feel off. I still think, with my limited knowledge that One Pace is worth it though since One Piece does take too long and it ruins the enjoyment, but it's still worthy of being discussed.

Zipzzty

Fr bro feels like 5 min

farkzzy

next 2 together pls 🙏

desolate leng

Apprently that scene is going to be in the last episode of Skypiea. At least that's what their spreadsheat says. And they might be done with it this week, if we're lucky, they're nearly done with it afaict.

JeanJean

I think "X is political" could apply to pretty much everything and I don't think One Piece is particularly more political than any other show. It's hard to project a specific ideology too, like is it advocating for a monarchy? Is it liberal? Socialist because of social justice? Not sure. Only certainty I have is that it's quite obviously anti-religion in my opinion, but that's about it. Agree with the rest though, I do not trust a fanbase with someting. Makes me recall how for AOT people attacked the person who chose 2volt as the ost for the moment where Eren appears in Liberio because they'd have preferred Vogel im kafig, and many were disappointed by that choice but really if you think about it, vogel im kafig is really not appropriate.

Jack

Should watch Long Ring Long Land with One Pace? I feel like we gotta watch some of it, especially the end 🥶

Jack

I don’t think so

Marcus D

So I looked it up a couple of eps back, but to explain it there needs to be a little Japanese writing explanation first. In the manga when oda uses Kanji(Japanese writing symbol that represents words) he also gives a reading(Furigana) for it with one of japan’s phonetic writing systems, so basically using letters to spell out what the kanji says( for those who may not know certain kanji). The Kanji Oda used in the manga reads as Endless earth(限りない大地) but the Furigana he used was ‘Fairy Vearth(フェアリーヴァース)’ which is how he wants it to be said/called. Basically the Kanji is to give more explanation to the name especially since Japanese people ,ah not understand those English words. So technically using either phrase for a translation is correct and I think Endless vearth is the right way to go in the subbed anime, as we can hear the actual name in the audio but get the Japanese kanji explanation/translation in the subs. Apologies for the huge amount of text, hopefully that made sense.

cozo

yeah use one pace

Jack

Not planning on doing W7 saga One Pace, it’s too good for that. I think we will watch LRLL One Pace for nostalgia sake and we won’t forget to watch 🥶

Marcos

Yeah one pace it up!!!!!!!!!!! It’s gonna be funny as hell. Luckily it’s a mini arc before peak!

Marcus D

I guarantee you a lot of people liked skypiea without one pace(including myself), the dissatisfied were just loudest in the comments. And I don’t think anyone has said it went from mid to their fsvourite after one pace lol. If skypiea is one of someone’s favourite arcs, I’m pretty sure it was already the case after watching the original first.

Marcus D

Yes please, never skip canon.

Mahti

watch it all with One Pace, it's only 6 episodes

Murasaki

One Pace for sure. Btw can we have 22-23 on Thursday? it’s in total around 45mins, then it will be perfect to have ep 194-195 next Tuesday to finish the arc.

Neemz

Ya I just reread it recently and…the sooner through it the better lol

Mahti

W7 is fine with OG, but please please use One Pace for EL it's too good to be brought down by pacing issues which EL has a LOT (backstory can be watched in OG if you feel like it).

Apex

As a viewer of the channel I’ve gotta say, it’s much better having one pace, the arc was almost twice as fast keeping all the story and none of the filler frames.

JeanJean

Honestly everything One Pace seems like a good choice except for W7 and Enies Lobby maybe, but even these could benefit from it.

LeBron Glazer (Bronsexual)

W7 is fine without it. EL needs it imo since there’s so many fights and running in that arc which is where most of the pacing issues come from

It's me

First time seeing One pace, I enjoyed it but they did cut out alot of comedy scene even they would've enjoyed but it isn't that important, the problem I see is with the new animation do they do alot of cutting in that too?

desolate leng

Yeah, I think so, and it's not so bad! Not as exciting as what comes before or after, but it's not horrible or anything. And it's short. Also, the end IS exciting (and important).

Nick K

If there was ever an arc that I would say please get through ASAP with one pace, it's LRLL. Everything after is when the show kicks into high gear and the crew can decide what they want to do

Veronia

YESSS💕 but I’d switch back to regular one piece after 5 eps- the 6th episode (the last one pace ep) cuts out some cannon stuff for some reason😞

cozo

The last 2 one pace eps only add up to about 50 minutes (pretty much a regular 2 anime episodes) so you guys should finish off the arc with 2 on thursday, would be peak

Marcus D

I’m not arguing for or against one pace here, I’m just dispelling the claim that regular skypiea is unbearable and majority of people didn’t enjoy it. Which is false.

jrnoodles

Thanks! Enel is so powerful.

Zipzzty

Yes BUT DEFINITELY USE One Pace

Ari

one pace yes! it's just 6 episodes

Marcus D

When you guys start the next arc(LRLL), please begin by watching the regular one episode 207 from 4:30 to 8:40 and episode 225 from 2:06 to 3:09. They have manga canon scenes from the start of the new arc that one pace hasn’t included yet. Not sure how far along you guys are in your recording schedule so wanted to say it now just in case.

ROSS

fo sho

Marcus D

Anything in episode 270 before 4:30 is filler so they only need to watch from 4:30 to 8:40. I just checked to manga to make sure.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

Because it wasnt necessary to the plot and had nothing to do with the original source material, all it did was stretch the scenes. I remember being annoyed with Wyper because of the added dialogues from the anime, yet I’m not annoyed with him at all now from the scenes we’ve seen.

Toska Water

One Pace it; don't skip canon arcs. This is your third time asking this. The response is generally always the same.

Dasha

Rayanh 2:35

Marcus D

One pace skypiea has been enjoyable though, just to be clear.

Marcus D

Just a small translation correction: Every time luffy talks about the city of gold's existence, he's talking about it in the past tense, saying it exist'ed' which matches the continuity of what luffy has seen, but for some reason one pace is using present tense.

Mauricio.

Peak piece. And yes, can we finish on thursday with a double drop, it'd be peak!.

Zipzzty

ONE PEAK

Zipzzty

Ur Goated

Zipzzty

Goated Potential

Aokiji Piece🧊

Yes Jack definitely watch it with One Pace 🥶

Benjamin Knock

Also the title is important to listen too

wanira 11

It's not finished with 2 one pace episodes tho, One pace hasn't adapted all of skypeia, there are still 2 eps left of regular one piece that need to be adapted to the one pace version. So there are 4 eps left in total (2 one pace eps and 2 regular one piece eps)

Mauricio.

Yeah, I was talking about finishing One pace with the double drop, and then next tuesday, back to OG Peak piece.

Brig Andrus

What was my question lol

Brig Andrus

Cuz I named dropped Kizaru? 😂

kaan

Yeah, I personally would hate it if you skipped canon material

desolate leng

I think it's just because it's not really meant to be past tense as you usually mean, but more in a "it really WAS there" sense. That is, in Japanese you can use the past tense like this for something that's... hm, I think "been there all along" is the sense in English? (ESL, so feel free to correct.) (I do some work as a Japanese translator, for reference, although not to English.)

Dale Cooper

You need to watch it specifically because it's a palate cleanser for the next arcs. Oda knew what he was doing with it.

Luffers

Now we just need an Indiana Jones drop!

Mitch

For sure but once you get to ep 227 with “his” introduction def just use normal one piece again

Maj

Enel's beams, arc maxim lightning mcqueen.... Luffy in 5 ❗️

Marcus D

Yes I agree with all of that, English also has it like that too. Anyway In this situation it is the past tense should be taken as such as the city isn’t there anymore. Even if luffy was saying it as ‘was always there’ one pace made a mistake by using present tense as English has the exact same concept.

Marcus D

@it’s me. With the newer content I don’t know what the cutting is like but one pace apparently cuts a bunch of well animated scenes.

Marcus D

The timing was too sus for you to not have heard/seen any of the latest one piece content Brig 😂

Marcus D

@Ben, I don’t think it is. Are you just saying that because the pronunciation sounds funny?😂

Niko

that kizaru mention, looks like some recent things are making the rounds😭😭 excited to see you guys get to that point and feel the hype eventually. but first we have the end of this arc!!! love the way it wraps up, excited to see what you guys think!

JayCnY

I agree with Mckay the whole Luffy running up the beanstock and Nami riding up it is so damn cheesy even for OP.

kaan

@jean “X is political” does apply to everything to some degree. People just don’t think their preconceived worldviews as something political. A good “political” show does not try to pin an ideology and openly advocate for it. It is a story after all not an essay or article. It is usually bad storytelling when they do it. One Piece has been covering political themes from the start. For example, Skypiea is definitely anti-colonialist. This is a political stance. If we go a bit further it centers resources (farming land in this case) as main driver of colonialism. And also how these resources (and lack of) shapes cultures and religion too. This can be interpreted as historical materialism and base-superstructure theory, which is usually leftist and Marxist views. Oda does not condemn violent resistance of Shandians for example (he never portrays them as bad guys or in the wrong). This is a political stance in itself too. This is just Skypiea, a lot of analysis can be make for other arcs relating to class, race, gender and imperialism. I wouldn’t say One Piece advocating for any exact ideology. However, I would say it is generally leftist, anti-capitalist and imperialist in how it handles its historical and political themes. Sidenote: I don’t think it is strictly anti-religion but more so anti-institutional religion

Ryker

brig name dropping isn’t a spoiler or anything but imagine jack heard something and name dropped one of the akatsuki or any relevant character from shippuden while you guys are still in chunin exams i know its all on good fun but still

Pudding

Raigo really was cool

Ryker

the reason we dont see logias tire from using their powers is because eating a logia doesn’t give you powers it turns you into it so when enel shoots a lightning beam its no different than him punching someone so his endurance with his df is no different than with his own body HE IS LIGHTNING INCARNATE

Mamox

the small spoiles they have "gears", kisaru etc they keep mentioning and in past episodes too are hilarious bc it makes sense/is inevitable they've been exposed to some of those terms, but they don't actually really understand them. So when they use them as mock-insults/tease about them us watchers knowing they're gonna think its hype when it happens is hilarious. It sort of reminds me of luffy making fun of zoro going "3 swords" and usopp is like "thats not really an insult" and then luffy goes "ok, 4 swords, hmph" lmao. Like that wasnt an insult either but i get what you're going for. funny banter, my friends and I tease each other the same ways lol

desolate leng

JeanJean, the problem with Toei's anime is that the episodes aren't made to optimise good storytelling, they're made to avoid adapting enough story to catch up on the manga. So what happens is that Toei bloats the story with a lot of stuff that actively UPSETS the story flow and narrative tension instead. This isn't an issue with seasonal anime, so fans nowadays aren't usually aware of how common it used to be. One Piece really is the only anime from that era that's still running. (edited for spelling)

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

Jack already dropped a couple of names he knew from characters that hadn’t been shown in Naruto. I don’t think it’s a big deal for them to mention shxt they know nothing about. It’s really spoiling plotlines id have an issue with.

Dasha

gear 1 lmao

desolate leng

I hope you realise that Wanze is part of W7...

Alan

14:50 jack sussy

EmlovesOP

is it the one where they land back to the blue sea?

EmlovesOP

Imagine if he had did it and they found the "that" the world as they know it would have been destroyed long ago. Better to let legends stay legends.

EmlovesOP

ahh I got it, yeah next week will be done

Gilster

Yeah it’s not an issue at all lol I thought it was funny af

greyxwaren

can’t watch the drop yet but i can’t believe jack is asking yet again whether or not to skip canon material and there are even people who ask for it like hUH :/

6

I remember when 'sus' meant homosexual

Alan

I remember when sus meant suspect

6

suspect was the whole version of the abbreviation sus which meant homosexual.

Alan

I mean I guess? Being homosexual is a normal thing to me lmao

Keiji

Them waiting for gears is so funny

Nashi

Maybe this is all some kids dream

Safaricat

As someone who doesn't use one pace I will say this is still one of my favorite arcs. Also Jack don't skip G8

E L

Yes!

Rhettoric

RIP Angel Island. I'm not a fan of Luffy continuously climbing the beanstalk, but FINALLY we're almost to the final showdown! Please do 22 and 23 together if you can find the time‼️😭 And someone has to get Brig off of One Piece TikTok lmfao

Nami Swannn

Watch the full arc! It’s fun shenanigans, not too long, important ending and you never know if it’s gonna be important in the future

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I started watching One Piece cuz of the live action, and every fight I was like “Luffy about to pop his gear for the first time”

Marcus D

You may wondering why I included a portion of episode 225; Becuase of filler, Toei split apart and rearranged bits of the first manga chapter of the arc and one pace also seems to not have included it either. But if we are using one pace, which follows the manga, it makes sense to watch it at the start too and would be a juicy little scene for the boys to see.

T

I think the only reason some people said they didn't like skypiea was strictly because of the pacing. And because one pace solves that issue, now everyone enjoys the essence of the arc. I personally think we should stick with one pace for lrll, skip g8, and then get back to the original for water 7

Marcus D

Angel island looked so cool, a shame it’s gone. Enel destroyed one of Booking.com’s Top 10 recommended destinations in the Grandline 😔

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Please either stick with just one pace or just the og anime. Feels weird yall like Skypiea more than Alabasta and Drum island. Skypiea is getting artificially boosted. I don’t mind this but please keep it consistent for all the arcs! Don’t cherry pick.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Please do One Pace for both LRLL/W7. W7 is gonna be such a bad experience at this rate. You are gonna get whiplash from the pacing.

Marcus D

It’s not that bad, they’ll manage. It’s better they experience a fan favourite saga the same way everyone else has, that way they can truely compare their opinions with other’s.

Marcus D

I watched all of those with OG first and liked skypiea way more than the other 2.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

You want them to have the true experience but only for fan favorite arcs? You don’t think those experiences will be skewed due to getting used to 50% of the pacing being cut?

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Do you think the geks would like Skypiea more than the other two in OG? We will never know, and that is my whole point.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I don’t get this logic. Like what’s the rush. The time will pass anyways, might as well get them to watch the most amount of good content.

Marcus D

I never said that, I actually preferred them to watch OG for the whole of the pretime skip. So yes I want them to watch the OG water 7 saga becuase its great without one pace. They watched the first 130 something episode regular before using one pace so it’s impossible to not have skewing now and honestly you’re making it sound way too serious than it actually is and most of what one pace cuts is prolonged still frames, panning, recaps and unnecessary previous episode flashbacks. The story and writing is what matters most, not the padding a studio added in for business reasons.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Hey my bad bro. I didn’t mean for my comment to come off as heated. I get where you are coming from, we have the same opinions. mb 👍

Marcus D

You’re good man, I understand the passion. 😂👍

1999

I want that hoodie Carter is wearing

Marcus D

Oda and Shakespeare are going to be battling it out for centuries😂

Lina

they should stick with one pace at this point tbh

GBuckets

I can't wait for Water 7. The best Saga at this point of the show is about to start

GBuckets

i know alot of one piece fanboys are going to string me up but i think you guys should keep watching this show in one pace. It seems like you guys enjoy the show much more in this format. The fact that you guys enjoy this arc more than alabasta shows that because if you watched this normally, this would probably be your least favorite arc

desolate leng

I'd say it's more that the other arcs were artificially bloated and slowed down, and Skypiea with one pace is more like what the manga pacing is (although not perfect equivalent, of course). But you still make a good point: W7 will feel really draggy in comparison.

corLeonis

I know im asking too much but.. I wish they can do 4 episodes (or binge an arc hahahaha)

desolate leng

(Sorry about the deleted comment, hit post too soon.) But I do think that Skypiea is still a really good arc! It's just that the previous ones suffered a lot from the pacing issues. I think it can be easy to misunderstand what the problems with the pacing really are, and just go "what's wrong with more One Piece?". It's not at all about the added length, it's what's IN those added minutes. How they are used. Aside from a couple of very recent instances, they're just bloat, and usually not very creative or even funny bloat (a lot of the time it's just added shots of running or staring). And something that's even more of a problem is that the additions disturb the narrative balance. That's why moments that can seem fun or even just inconsequential can have a way worse effect in aggregate than you'd think possible. It's a bit like adding the wrong detail to an image: something that doesn't seem very big at all can upset the balance of the whole thing.

corLeonis

pretty sure briggs saw clips that's why he mentions "Kizaru" hahahha very difficult to stay away from from spoilers these days

corLeonis

i'm dying to see them catch up hahaha

Keiji

The gears are actually the friends we made along the way.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

And I don’t get wanting them to watch filler episodes when we’re eager to see them catch up to the story and discover how amazing it is along the way. Think about it in terms of binging a good show vs taking your time because you don’t have a choice since you’re watching weekly episodes. I’d binge it if I could. Since I can’t, then I want them to stick to canon episodes.

Zipzzty

PEAKPIEA

Lina

they better use one pace aswell

Lina

which one is brig and wdym he is on op tiktok 😭

Lina

its def not normal bruh 💀🤣

Lina

did sm1 explain them that enel used all the gold from the city? last time they were confused why there was no gold in the city of gold 💀

Lina

change ur pfp 😭 and im not saying this cuz of spoiler 😮‍💨

Luffers

@Kenji Let me guess, you only watch anime. Can't imagine living in such a small world

Dasha

Kenji, Brig is a blonde guy on the right. He asked something about Kizaru in the beginning of the episode which means he's seen some latest edits, likely on TikTok. In previous reactions he also asked about haki and Kaido

Dasha

I just woke up from a dream where geks caught up with one piece and they randomly uploaded episodes 1000, 1015, 1061, 1071, and 807-808. The whole night I was watching their reactions in my head. Maybe it's time I do something about my reaction addiction

Jack

We will be doing something OP related soon to really kick off some things, look forward to that…

Mauricio.

Oh, Jackson, the hero that you are. The One Peak nation loves you <3

Yeah Mckay thats my favourite theme of One Piece too. The theme is titled "Difficult"

Fatima

At this point all of the other arcs will seem extremly dragged for them, only water 7(not enies loby) and sabaody are going to be bearable imo

Fatima

I like skypia more than alabasta, and I watched it in OG, never actually watched any eps in one pace

codesterr

i agree with alot of people that one pace is great for some arcs. but the thing i think most people would agree. when you start one piece, you think its too much. but the more you watch, you realize there's not enough. i don't think you guys will regret watching every main arc's episodes. there's a really funny scene scene where luffy imitates sanji really well and luffy and chopper crack up laughing that is cut from one pace. i say just watch regular

studiogek

To be fair when it happens just know it was my idea😈

wanira 11

maybe binge LRLL so we can get to W7 quicker ;)

desolate leng

Oh, and also, since you've already watched these arcs, Jack, I think that seeing it in the one pace cut will make the intention of the arc more evident when it comes to the themes (I to try to be vague and not spoil, lol). There's a reason this arc is where it is, after all!

Riley

Are we gonna get an opening video for that legendary engram?

Mauricio.

Who is it ? Cannon or Carter ? I don't know who is behind the Studio Gek account and I want to thank the right Gek when it happens hahaha.

Tom

I find it insane that people justify sticking to the original, despite the overall experience being 40-60% worse overall due to a 10 second gag that was cut. Yes some arcs One Pace isn't necessary or; it's only a marginal improvement so it doesn't matter either way. However come on... One Pace clearly makes the arc/series more enjoyable, which isn't a surprise since it's paced and includes what Oda intended.

Tom

I don't know man the summit war saga is straight peak for like 5 arcs (especially in the manga)

corLeonis

Now Im really excited woooo

Amy M

I agree, when you first start one piece it seems like too many episodes, but once you get far into it, there arent enough!

Matt Haloostock

I don't know if its too late but I just found out that One Pace doesn't finish the Skypiea arc. It seems like there are supposed to be 24 One Pace episodes for this arc, so it's missing the last episode or so. Just wanted to give a heads up

GBuckets

I said at this point. But i still prefer water 7 over summit

E L

Ooohhhh thank you carter!

Sun

Why is Enel so obsessed with the golden bell / the City of Gold again?

Murasaki

W7 binge? 👀🥹

Dasha

Imagine it’s LRLL binge😄 peak experience

bobqueen16

In the flashback, Shandora was covered in gold, and now it is a beige color since Enel had the holy host use the gold to build the arc maxim. He found out about the bell from Robin and probably wants it since he views himself as a god

julia

Do something please! I’m so impatient rn🤣 W7 binge would be the best🥹

julia

I personally want you guys binge it with one pace so we can get to W7 quickly!

Nonos

Bros sanji’s number 1 fan

Nonos

Thinking reasonably my guess maybe it’s a character tier list video of some sort or something. Binge would be crazy tho

Murasaki

Now I realized why she mentioned 1061, not 1062 lmao.

xSaorix

lol what? what are you talking about artificially boosted? It's directly from the manga. I watched the original One Piece and I've always loved skypiea. weirdo. get out of here

xSaorix

wait what did he say?

greyxwaren

in the comments he asked whether to skip or watch LRLL

Shaun V

I dont know how this is even a discussion but Please do not use One Pace for Water 7 + Enies. I am NOT someone that hates one pace, it's actually impressed me so much how enjoyable it made Skypiea, but w7 is mostly regarded as a very well adapted and engaging watch (Of course use it for the foxy pirates arc though that shit was dragged on way too long) I have watched so many reactors go through w7/el, and none of them EVER complain about pacing. I didn't even notice it all. In the WIT remake, I wouldn't be suprised if this is one of the arcs that isn't cut down a lot in episodes. There is so much going on in this arc, and the way they present it, in my eyes is not only just to the manga, but elevates it and makes such a fucking good watching experience PLEASE do not use one pace for w7. It's insane that people want One Pace for the rest of the series, when a VERY HIGH MAJORITY of people that watched One Piece, DID NOT watch One Pace and still loved the anime experience more than anything else. And again I'm not saying never use it again, but what is the actual problem with them watching the show in the original arcs at times? I know carter has said he wanted to, And I definitely get that appeal. Idk end of the day, who cares, the geks should do what they want, but w7 in it's original form felt so fucking perfect to me, and made a lot of us fall in love with the show

Shaun V

It also doesnt even make that big of a difference?????????? One Pace has around 50 EPISODES (excluding Davy Back saga) and One Piece has around 87 episodes (Excluding Davy Back Saga). HOWEVER, One Pace episodes are significantly longer than normal episodes. I clicked through a bunch, there are often 30 minute epsidoes, 29, 22, 35, whatever it is. One of them was 40 fucking minutes for an episode? Like bro that is just two episodes at that point 😭😭😭It's like people that want One Pace don't realise that yes, while there is less episodes, they are often much longer and would MAKE UP for most of the time cut, where it would GENUINELY be close-ish to the original. And then at that point, why are you even watching the edited version.

cozo

please be a binge..

Marcus D

Maybe it’s cover stories?👀

Mahti

Even though I agree there's never enough One Piece, that does not mean I want to watch intentionally stretched out episodes with basically the same content. Nobody enjoys watching characters heavy breathing for 15 seconds between every attack for no good reason, it is unnecessary and ruins the flow.

Mahti

I have seen reactors get visibly frustrated with EL pacing and even complain about it. It takes 10 episodes for them to reach a building that is like a mile away from the starting point. Basically 10 episodes of running animation barely anything meaningful happening, and don't even get me started on the fights, endless flashback recaps and other stuff I can't mention because it would be too spoilery. I get that EL is amazing and all and can be enjoyed even with OG pacing, but to say it doesn't have pacing problems is crazy. Most importantly they will 100% enjoy the arc more with One Pace than without. W7 has way better pacing so I'm neutral about that

Mahti

Cover stories would explain the wings on shandians which isn't explained in the anime

Marcus D

Amongst introducing many other narrative relate things

greyxwaren

i agree W7 and EL (pls edit your comment to omit arc names) are perfectly paced and don't need one pace at all. except there is a small section in EL that could use relying on one pace only for that (namely a specific fight you know which one🦒) but the main fight is paced just fine

greyxwaren

LRLL binge im calling it rn

Dasha

lol I'm sorry, love Zoro too, but I watched Sanji scenes to death and know them by heart 😂 peak Sanji moments are invaluable to us fans since we also have to endure the lowest ones

desolate leng

To add to what maddie says, gold is a great conductor of electricity, which is what Ener needs to make his electricity the power source of the ark. It's also at this point the only metal in Skypiea of the amount that Ener needs to build everything he needs. The bell is, I think, mainly something he wants because 1) he has come to think of gold as signifying his godhood, and 2) agreeing with maddie, it means a lot to the Shandians and Skypieans and it gives him an additional sense of godlike power to be able to take it from them.

desolate leng

W7 and EL have strong plot points that stand out, and those are what people remember. But watching it in its whole, and as an adult, you're going to notice the problems. (pace cuts about 30% of the arc, for reference. But it's not cutting what the anime does well, wich is the canon material.)

desolate leng

New update actually says 25, lol. I hope they'll be out this week, but it might take longer. The reason it took longer with the last episodes is that they're fitting in the canon moments that Toei chopped up with their filler, and the editing takes longer for that (scenes from *checks* 207 and 225 that was mentioned before).

Marcus D

I would love that, 3 hours of just pure silliness in one upload, it would be such a troll thing to do.

ahmad

Blind nostalgia mostly, W7/EL arcs are great regardless though so I am not fussed

Shaun V

Its genuinely not nostalgia. I watched One Piece for the first time a couple years ago when I was already an adult, I also have rewatched the entirety of w7 and felt completely fine with it. Maybe this is just a me thing, but the pacing never bothered me even though it extremely bothered me for other arcs. It felt like w7 was an arc that we could spend a bit longer on, and that the length worked in it's favour for me. The tensions, the setting, the plot, everything felt so unbelievably fleshed out and dynamic

Shaun V

It's true that el has worse pacing than w7 to be fair, i can definitely admit that. To me, I didn't mind it enough to call it bad pacing, because just as there were certain things that felt long, there was also a lot more that felt right to me. I guess if people are mainly arguing for just el pacing, then I don't mind fair enough, as long as w7 isn't watched with it. I also don't think a lot of people really think about the fact that One Pace being shorter than One Piece, and one piece being badly paced at times, doesn't mean that One Pace is the perfect pacing. I know they are trying to more accurately represent the manga, but there are definitely times where I think one pace drops the ball a bit. it feels like people like to consider it perfect, when in reality there are some things they may shorten, that the extra length actually worked in it's favour to really drive in the gravity of the situation, or properly represent the feeling the moment was meant to get. And I mean I get it, one pace normally does pretty well, so maybe this critique is kind of cynical, but it's just the assumption people make of shorter = better when it comes to these two is frustrating to me, since that's so subjective as well. Especially because half of the people who have watched one piece normally and argue for one pace, have never asked themselves "If I could go back and watch it again for the first time, what would I rather?". For me the answer is always 100% one piece, even though I'm sure I'd also love one pace, and that's not the result of a personal context bias, but because something about watching the original show with it's pros and cons is meaningful to me. I get that might be the unpopular opinion, but I also feel like a lot of people would resonate with it. I mostly read people saying they wanted both El and W7 to be one paced, but it seems like yall are just saying El to be paced, which at the end of the day is completely fair enough if people want that

Kite

4:46 my birthday!!

Matt Haloostock

That makes sense. I was reviewing the manga out of curiosity and noticed some stuff I haven't seen since my first watch lol

fia

I’m so happy that u guys liked skypiea
