I've always wondered if the pure titans have ever ignored the person they sent running and attacked the people on the wall. That abnormal that jumped to kill Thomas in S1 could've destroyed them lol. I also wonder how far they can detect large populations of people, because there are far more people behind them if you're talking about close proximity.

I sympathize that it would make the editing process more complicated and extend the length of recording sessions but in these episodes in particular I wish you guys had been able to pause and rewind some scenes, they’re just so dense and it definitely felt like the girls were getting a bit overwhelmed. At the end of the day I’m here for you guys not to just rewatch the show, your reactions and takes are the juice I’m here for 😁 14 minutes post talk for 3 intense episodes just leaves me wanting more in a good way. That’s the price of 3 episode batches I suppose

And Cannon, I believe Jack corrected you but it was too quiet to hear so I just want to clarify that the Eldian empire didn’t rule “thousands of years ago”, they were overthrown and fled to the island 80 years ago. Not justifying the internment camps and the treatment of eldians at all, but they technically aren’t being punished for ancient sins. Assuming Marley’s stories hold weight, they were themselves cruelly oppressed by the Eldian empire within the span of one human lifetime

When I first learned the truth of the world in AoT, I remember feeling both mind blown and pissed off. Not only was humanity basically the modern world outside the walls, but they left the people to suffer inside the walls, branding them as devils. They lived in constant fear of the titans, not understanding how small their world really. I know the history plays a role in how things ended up this way, but the reveal came as such a shock - I couldn't help but feel that way.

Carter completely nerding out was understandable. Please don't take anything I say the wrong way, because I think the guys can sense that the show lost the girls a little bit in the middle of episode 20, as it went in a direction that they did not expect at all. I feel like you guys might've over-explained a teeny tiny bit, which takes away a little bit of the magic of piecing everything together on their own. It would have been better to listen to their thoughts and address any questions that naturally arose. However, I don't want to speak for any of our newcomers if they aren't at all bothered by the clarifications. I feel like it was intended for your first viewing of 20/21 to be extremely overwhelming, and it's perfectly okay if you only understand 50-75% of it. Season 4 does a fantastic job of slowly building on the remaining 50-25%. It's natural to want others to appreciate the story to the same extent that you do. Still, I think part of admiring and respecting it is simply letting it shimmer naturally for first-time viewers and being extremely open-minded to any different opinions they might have.

Yes, the natural resources on Paradis Island was one of the reasons. The second and more important reason is that the power of the Nine Titans is not as impactful as it use to be. It's stated that the current breakthroughs in technology and weapons has shortened the gap between other countries and Marley, who use to possess 7 of the 9 titans. However, the advancements in technology and weaponry is still no match against the full power of the Founding Titan.

This is a really strange interpretation. We literally see Grisha take his sister outside of the walls & are explicitly told that is what started the show.

They would have just seen a blimp and went home to their internment zone if rat man and owl weren’t smoking on the bank. Rat being there at that time and place technically caused: Fays death Grishas radicalization Grishas first marrige Zekes birth Grisha going to paradise Erens birth Sure the arbitrary system of the world would have punished them eventually, maybe even in a similar way. But grisha doesnt get radicalized for years after until he learns the details of what that specific soldier did from the owls leak.

To use the Founding Titan power he has to touch a Titan of Royal Blood to truly use the Founding Titan ability. That's why he didn't want to tell them. He was scared the military would force Historia into a Titan. Also, there were a lot of hints of an outside world similar to our own: - Annie calling the beast Titan a monkey, and Eren says "What? Monkey?" but in a confused manner. It's more clear in the manga as Ymir says "猿" which is Monkey, but when Eren repeats it, it's written as "さる" which is just the katakana of monkey, which shows that Eren is just sounding out the word without knowing the meaning, implying that there's no such thing as monkeys within the walls. As Eren has never seen or heard of one before. - The coffee - The Beast Titan was obviously a sports fan, he had perfect shotput form, and kept using baseball references like "Perfect Game" - Annie and her real life Martial Arts, and grappling. and a bunch of others

i love that every time i rewatch this show i have a new revelation. This revelation with out spoilers is related to the idea that they would force Dina to have kids with royal blood if Marley found out who she was. also i must say that the ladies are COOOOOOKIN!!! i'm glad they're enjoying it so much. Also they have seen i think 6 out of the 9 titans at this point they just don't know the names of all of them, however they know of 7. They have not seen the founding/coordinate really.

The Shingeki no Kyojin titledrop is still one of if not the best titledrop Ive ever seen. It's absolutely amazing how it comes full circle. It's a shame that title drop often goes unnoticed because the english title is "Attack on Titan" instead of the original Japanese obviously.

Flashback episodes are really mind-blowing and it’s a LOT to take in! 🤯🤯🤯 But I can’t help but be greedy! I wish heard girls and their though more and get a longer and carried away discussion, not only the Carter’s summary about that these episodes revealed. Sometimes it better watch less episodes, but discuss them more thoroughly, especially when you have so many people on the couch!

I was confused. I thought we were doing 2 episodes Monday and the last two of this season on Friday. Lol. If you guys can tell us ahead of time how many episodes you're watching that'd be great! Definitely some good reveals. There was some stuff I had figured out, but still some surprises. I figured the basement reveal wouldn't be that exciting, but it was informative. So I know there is the Beast Titan, the jaw titan, the female titan, the duck titan, the armored titan, the colossal titan, and the founding titan, and the attack titan. But what's the ninth then? I am I missing one or is it yet to be revealed? I'm excited to watch the last episode of this season and then start the next season.

Best Lore drop ever. Even after that many rewatches I get goosebumps hearing Grisha's story, hearing Eren Kruger explain everything to him. Very tragic characters. I also loved the line of Eren Kruger saying he still looks at the world through crack in the closet, similar to how he saw his whole family getting burned alive and not being able to do anything. Knowing that all Pure titans outside of the wall are just fellow Eldians being punished is also the reason why Rod and Uri's dad and then Uri and then Frieda never killed the titans and never "freed" the humanity. They know titans are not a threat if they are within the walls, there is a whole world threating them outside of the island. And even if they all get killed, first King's will stands, to accept their fate.

You make a good point. I think this show does a good job of capturing human nature, both the good and the bad. Realistically, if I lived in Marley, I probably wouldn't want to help the people of Paradis too. I definitely wouldn't want to send more titans their way and break down their walls either though.

So during one of those episodes, and its easy to miss, Grisha is explaining that they wanted Zeke to volunteer to be one of the titans so they could be "honorary Marleyans." every time i watch these episodes, the impact of just how VAST and CONNECTED everything has been since season 1...it BLOWS MY MINDDDD! even though i can never get to re-experience watching this show for the first time, the awestruck feeling i have at isayama's mastery never goes away. for this, at least, i am grateful.
