We had Temple of Doom on VHS as a kid. My older brother would chant "Kali maa, shakti de!" and do the motions when we played together. We loved this movie and had so much fun.

Kali Maa or Kali Mata is a real Hindu Goddess, she is the Divine Mother of Death, Destruction, Creation, Rebirth, and Time; The Thuggees were a real cult too but were more like various organized crime units with occult practices; There prefer method of killing was strangulation for kali and they lasted from 13th to 19th century, The British occupiers at the time supposedly wiped them out in the 1800's.
