My phone got stolen, so that's awesome. Anyway, Cannon, I really think you should play the games once this season ends. Obviously, you can play the first game without spoilers, so no issue there. I just don't think it's worth waiting, probably ~2 years, to play the second game. The game is the definitive way to experience the story imo, and I think it'd be an interesting change if you were to know the ending before the other Geks. If you plan on having them watch your playthrough, then that's obviously different. It would still be cool if they were all down to watch the second game before the next season in like ~2 years though haha.

With all the changes they are making to the story in the show, Honestly id say yes play the game As much as i hate Numerous parts of the game, i enjoyed it more than what the show is doing and have done so far. Plus id love to see your reactions to certain parts of the game as well.

McKay, the infected are always a bigger part of the games, but it makes some sense considering the makeup they have to use, and all for the show. The infected are alive and in order to stay that way, they need sustenance, even if their metabolic rate is lower. The infected are better explored in the games as well. The flare scene in the tunnel was interesting.

I think they want us to think Dina is going to die but she’ll live. And then I think they also want us to think Ellie will succeed in killing Abbie but I think she’ll realize it isn’t worth it and let her live. And if Tommy dies, I riot. Also I like Ellie and Dina much more this episode.

I liked this episode but I’m concerned that they cut the “Dina becoming a burden” scene in the theater because that is so important in showing how unhealthy this whole thing is for Ellie. The “I’m gonna be a dad” line was funny but Ellie should be terrified about the fact that Dina’s pregnant, and mad that it could jeopardize her revenge plans. I felt like they moved on a little too quickly for something so big. Ashley Johnson's version of Take On Me was something Bella couldn't ever even come close to as well. Please do a playthrough of the game on stream it really does justice to these characters. So far season 2 has the infected Jackson fight as it's only W for me compared to the video game. Overall the action scene's were 7/10 but the rest of the episode was 6/10.

Those packs that were in the guitar case are used to keep out mold and humidity and stuff like that. Kinda like Cilicia beads. That’s why the guitar looks pristine even though it’s been exposed to the weather for 26-27 years. Honestly one of my favorite little realistic details they added to the show vs the game. It’s like how most gas isn’t as potent anymore like they mentioned in season 1. I’m a fun fact geek so stuff like that just tickles a spot in my brain

Not trynna be one of those people that’s complaining because I actually like the show and think it’s doing a good job. But man, there’s just stuff they can’t fully capture from the games. In the game Joel dying happens like an hour in and is a super linear sequence. But Ellie and Dina going to Seattle is when you can feel the game opening up, you spend literal hours getting to explore Seattle where it’s relatively open ended etc. The show just feels super fast for some parts of Seattle but also like not enough is happening considering this is only 7 episodes. Also in the game Ellie was much darker and more obsessed with revenge. Like you guys said it kinda feels like they’re not locked in on their mission here lol

This show is hot garbage, how did the writing get so bad so quickly. Did they sack all the writers from season 1. These 2 somehow escape a militia 10 feet from them and are on the run and somehow have the time to sleep, have sex and cuddle.

Yessss. That "I didn't want to be a burden" dialogue is such a perspective anchor for them. Leaving that out makes this whole thing feel so untethered and lacking resolve at a pretty foundational level

You should 100% play the game, it's quite a different experience from the show, as nothing needs to be rushed. Of course, in my opinion, the game is 10 times better than the show, but it'll also be nice to see your guys' opinions.

did you not watch the episode bruh? Ellie literally asks "why now?" as in why show her feelings for ellie now, and Dina tells her why. Dina was thinking about doing it for a while and then ellie getting bit meant that could never happen now, dina was probably heartbroken. Then Dina finds out that Ellie isnt actually dead and they can have a future together. So Dina doesnt hold back now shows her feelings to ellie.

Crazy how Issac is my most anticipated part of the show. I already love how they’re giving him more depth than the game and Jeffrey wright is a really goated actor too. I will say I loved this ep, the way Ellie and Dina were sneaking away from the wlf gave me the exact feeling of the game. The zombie escape sequence was great too. Personally this ep is prob the most I enjoyed Bella as Ellie so we’ll see if that can continue for future eps. Also yall should 100% play the games. The first one is universally praised as one of the best games ever and the second is still worth playing for the gameplay alone but story-wise, very divisive.

Personally, I wouldn't call it a killer instinct—it's more about survival. It was either kill or be killed. What I wish is that they had talked about a plan, like how they were going to ambush Abby, or even just mentioned how much ellie really hates her like in the game

I think the fact Ellie is all in on being a parent right away shows how much she loves Dina and also just how strong she is. That's not an easy thing to accept but she does so immediately. That's seriously a goated move.

Such a cold introduction for our new character, Issac. Another excellent aspect of bringing a video to game to television: you can flesh out character histories without it feeling like you’re lacking actual gameplay! On another note, more changes to the story beget more divisive opinions, I just hope people don’t become too blinded by these tweaks. There’s a podcast that some key TLOU folks (o.g game writer, show writer, and Joel’s voice actor) have where they discuss the episode and video game and the changes, etc. and it’s worth listening to it, especially if you’ve played the games!

Absolutely 10000000% play the games. The show is good, but the game's immersion and story beats are top-notch. You discover so much lore about the outbreak, survivors, and more through exploration for supplies. It's like comparing a book to a movie: The movie is good, but the book is so much better. Plus, the first game got remastered, so it's gorgeous

It’s just bad. They made S2 even worse than G2 which I always assumed would be impossible. I thought it would be the same as the game, not worse. They continuously keep altering Ellie’s character and personality depending on the episode. Which the game only did at the end. Events did not happen like this in the game. She was not thrilled about being a “dad”. She was pissed about how it would affect her chase for revenge. It’s just a more woke version of G2. Imo S2 is only gonna become “worse” as it progresses. Only digestible for someone who never cared that much about the characters enough to want them to be as close to the source material. Which its only flaw was the ending. Here it’s the beginning, Abby, Joel’s death, pregnancy reveal, etc… who knows what they’ll decide to change. I personally feel they are butchering S2 to a point where G2 seems like a masterpiece lmao. That’s saying a lot right there.
