But that's not how it works. Yes Deku is using a majority of his base human strength when he's using 5% of OFA. However, that doesn't equate to 105% power because 5% of OFA power does not equal 5% of normal human strength, it overshadows it by a lot. 105% human strength doesnt allow you to jump between alley walls like he does in this episode.

There aren’t really any “villain” quirks, it’s all about how they are used, they showed that with Shinso who you said the same thing about, and it’s in general just a larger theme in this show. Both Stain and Shinso have incredible quirks for a hero too. Being able to almost guarantee restraining a villain with such a simple activation would be incredible for a hero. Imagine if stain used that on the hero side, just smidge of blood and he can guarantee anyone acting up gets locked up with no risk of casualties, regardless of how strong or dangerous they may be. It’s all about how they are used.

i disagree that bloodcurdle is an automatic villain quirk. i get that it involves blood so you might think that, but a hero could benefit greatly from that!! there are many fights that get bloody and being able to paralyze your opponent would a great advantage!! thinking of his quirk as just "cutting and tasting them" is the problem, its the perception of quirks that makes you categorize them as "villainous" or "heroic" that matters. a more unconventional quirk requires you to think more deeply on how to use it, but no quirk automatically makes you a bad person. just lile with shinsou's quirk! the purple haired guy with mind control

In the context of JJK Toji has superhuman strength, speed and perception granted to him by his heavenly restriction... That puts him way above average people in the JJK universe and puts him above even most sorcerers with CT. Just because a character's power sets don't align with the standard power set of the story doesn't mean by default they have "no powers". Same for Asta and Rock Lee. None of them have "no powers".

based on how much theyre already loving this show... I think it might actually be one of their favorites when they catch up. This show really caught me off guard in the way it built a world and really fleshed out some characters/themes in the story way more than I was expecting. With all the hate MHA got over the years, I actually think the tide has shifted and its now lowkey an underrated show if anything. Underrated in that it should be considered a top tier shonen with how unbelievably well done seasons 4-7 were. Super hyped for you guys to continue watching

One of the best arcs in the show. A great deconstruction of what the flaws in a Hero society would be. This was really well thought out. The best villains always spit a bit of truth out there. Enough to make you identify with them. Even agree with them. Stain is one of the best villains out there.

I was one of the people who were kinda sceptical to this show. I’ve seen up to s2 and i don’t really remember anything?? from this show… I must have dissociated to point of sleeping because i’m really enjoying it so far! I also think Deku is a great protagonist, especially if younger people watch this. He is brave and strong but also shows a lot of emotions, which i know annoy some people but it’s something i really appreciate❤️

I think this arc is actually quite underrated. I thoroughly enjoy it still, and I was actually surprised by how fast the episodes went by HAHA! Stain is a villain who has conviction, who kills not for the fun of it, or because he simply wants to kill, which Shigaraki wants. He kills because he has values that are not being appreciated or even heard in society. He thinks heroes should embody what it means to BE a hero - a selfless person who saves others at the expense of their own safety. Which is basically All Might's existence. And by extension, Izuku, because he takes after All Might a stupid amount, down to the self sacrificial nature and desire to save everyone. Iida's narrowed vision following his brother's attack and his growing rage over the injustice is what causes him to lose sight of his original goal (hopefully momentarily) - to be a hero just like his brother. The fact that Stain had to be the one who made him see how irrational and un-heroic his actions are must absolutely suck, because he's right, and it's not like Stain is saying it to spite him. He's simply stating the truth. Todoroki's line "Look properly and what you want to be!" to Iida mirrors Izuku's words to him in their fight in the school festival tournament. It takes a lot to change someone with just words. They have to be the right ones, or ones that hit the right place inside someone. And in this situation, Todoroki did his best given their predicament, because he's urging Iida to remember his purpose, the origin of his desire to be a hero. I just think it's really fortunate that Iida has these two to bring him back out of the darkness in his mind. If he had continued down that path, he himself would have become everything he hated about villains. Fighting is inevitable btw villains and heroes, but the INTENTION behind a hero's will to fight is what sets them apart from a typical villain.

Again! In case y'all need a reminder, I'll prob put this under every vid for the Geks to refer to if they need it and update it as we finish the seasons HAHA! MHA watch order goes (ideally + reasons): Season 2 -> Movie 1: Two Heroes Season 3 -> Season 4 -> Season 5 (Ep 1 to 16) Movie 3: World Heroes' Mission Season 5 (Ep 17 to 25) -> Movie 2: Heroes Rising Season 6 -> Season 7 (Ep 1-4) -> Movie 4: You're Next Season 7 (Ep 5-21) I know this looks super weird, but according to my extensive research, in the canon manga timeline, movie 2 comes before movie 3, but since Studio Bones messed up the order of the arcs in the second half of S5, the events of movie 3 now happens sometime in the middle of S5, while movie 2 happens after S5's ending, even though the studio released the two movies in the opposite order. OR, y'all can watch movie 2 after S5 Ep12, and movie 3 after S5 ends (this is what most reactors do if I'm not wrong, cause there are spoilers in movie 2 that aren't revealed until the middle of S5).

Y’all are misunderstanding what one for all is, essentially there has been 8 users so far and deku is the 9th. The user before all might was his mentor until she passed. All might is old so this more than 2 decades at least. The 7th user had a quirk as well as one for all but she didn’t have the ability to give quirks. One for all only builds power inside of each user. Only deku can harness this power. The show is insinuating whoever is the big bad has power opposite of one for all and can possibly give powers. These are not spoilers as everything has been shown or inferred before and in this episode (literally when all might realizes who the cop is insinuating they’ve already encountered before). It’s exciting but pay attention to the conversations they reveal a lot. This is a really well written story and haters are all people who didn’t even pay attention or get to season 3 where things really heat up. There will be more training arcs in the show that’ll take you out of the story but it flows very well and it’s worth it. It’s not boring it’s just the main plot is so exciting it’s hard to wait for it to unfold. Deku will seem like he’s growing slowly but when the time comes he’s always going to go plus ultra!

Great episodes and reactions! I like that Deku is slowly learning to control his power. Even if he is only at 5% he's still doing pretty good. He has to broken any fingers or bones. Plus, unlike most of his classmates he hasn't had his inherited quirk long so it makes sense that even though he has the strong power he's still behind because he can't fully control it. But I feel like in a few months or even a year he should be able to use the majority of One For All. He's a quick study which works in his favor. I'm excited for the next batch. I also agree that the villian in the shadows is likely going to be a multi season one.

You know, I never understood the MHA hate because all in all it’s a solid show. Like of course some people like some seasons over others but it’s a consistently good show. Stain is cool af. MHA does well with their morally grey/complex/antagonistic characters. To me they are way more interesting than straight up full blown heroes like Deku, Uraraka, All Might,... etc. Not that they arent good characters but thats what I appreciate and feel drawn to most in this series.

It is like a trigger to him. This is explored way more through another villain which will show up in episode 18, but since the quirk is a part of you, you are drawn to things that have to do with your quirk. In Stain's case, he has an unusually high bloodlust and wants to ingest blood by nature. Again, this is explored way better through another character.

Some clarifications without spoiling. 1. Toxic Chainsaw is not the one that hurt All Might, it just happened around the time All Might got hurt. It still has not been revealed who did that to All Might. 2. One for All has passed through 9 people. Deku is the 9th holder, All Might the 8th and the 7th holder was All Might's teacher and Gran Torino's friend. The 7th holder is already dead. And keep in mind that All Might is on his 50s and get the quirk as a teenager, so this happened a long time ago.

To add to why that misconception with Toxic Chainsaw is a thing, Midoriya being the well-versed nerd he is guessed that Toxic Chainsaw was the only villain All Might fought around the time he said he was hurt because the actual fight that All Might was injured in was kept private from the general public.

I think it’s fair to say Stain has a point. I’d even say that he’s fighting for a noble cause. False heroes shouldn’t be propped up and praised. However his message quickly gets lost when he targets “all heroes who are not at AM standards”. There’s no logic behind that and so he ends up taking out ppl like Ingenium, who was a genuinely good hero, rather than a certain abuser hero that’s out there.

I love that y'all are watching this show. It gets a bad rap for various reasons that in many ways are valid, but the core of the show is so wholesome and good.

Something that might be lost in the whole explanation of Deku and All Mights quirk, and its something that All Might himself has said a few times already, but its a "crystallization" of power. Meaning the first holder had it, made it theirs, then passed it on to the next, and then they did the same thing. So each consecutive person to have the power should theoretically be that much stronger than the last one that had it. Which could be part of the reason why All Might is so OP. He's the 8th, so the other 7 before him had it and honed it. Now, Deku is the 9th, and All Might was insanely strong, so he got all of that power, plus all the other 7 before All Might. So even Deku's 5% is gonna be stronger than All Mights 5%. None of this is spoilers since All Might has stated as much in the show already, its just kinda hard to understand.

They would have been closer if Studio Bones didn't switch the arcs in the last half of season 5, but because they did, the watch order became movie 3 first and then movie 2 (according to how the events of the two movies line up in the canon timeline). It is a little confusing haha!

right, i feel like the bad rep is mainly bcs of the fans(not generalizing ofc) not bc of the story and the anime itself; most people who have watched it like it, which is why its one of the most popular animes ever. the minority that dislikes it is just people that are either so deep in fandom spaces (see fights and weird takes on twitter and that influences how they view the anime) or just really dont like this type of anime which is okay bc people have different tastes

That’s true for most of the criticism it gets, but even as a huge fan there’s PLENTY of valid shit to complain about: - Mineta… period - Midnight’s problematic sexualization of her students - The hyper sexualization of nearly every female character, most of which are high school students (Momo/Uraraka’s hero uniforms for example) - then in terms of show quality, a few seasons were handled pretty poorly (primarily season 4/5 pacing) but are mostly excusable and NONE of that has to do with the fandom, which is an entirely different issue. It’s okay, you can like something and be critical of it at the same time.

Man it's really hard to discuss this without spoilers lmao. I disagree with movie 3 before movie 2, simply because if we see the developments from season 5/movie 3 but then later go back to movie 2 and there's no hint of those things, it really makes no sense and breaks continuity. When you watch movie 3 before 2, you're left with this weird suspension of disbelief because why would [character] not do or know about [thing] during movie 2 when we just watched them do [thing] for the entirety of movie 3? That's why I prefer movie 2 after *that episode* in season 5, then movie 3 after the second (third...) arc of season 5. I also personally prefer switching the second and third season 5 arcs as you mentioned, but that's clunky af and would be confusing for any first time watchers alongside the Geks (not to mention them risking a goof up and watching something they shouldn't). Idk, they can't make everyone happy, so I'll just enjoy whatever they decide I suppose.

I love the ending conversations, especially about what quirks are “villain” quirks or not! It’s a great theme that’s woven through the series and I think it’s handled well, especially for things that happen later on. @Josh Knoebel It is hard. And to be honest, I would prefer if we could have a proper, serious discussion about this issue that keeps being mentioned under my comment. Because I've already answered this in a previous reaction video where someone asked a similar question. (Please be warned that there are minor spoilers beyond this point. First time watchers pls proceed at your own risk.) The main reason why I put the watch order as movie 3 before movie 2 is because of how the events of these two movies fit in the canon timeline of the manga. It is in no way my own opinion of how these movies should be watched. I simply researched, did my calculations, read the calculations of others who brought up similar or opposing points, and then made a conclusion about what might be the most accurate watch order. Your preference about watching movie 2 after S5 Ep 10 is valid, because that's what most reactors do, and it makes sense because movie 2 does have spoilers that hint towards Izuku having multiple quirks. However, I don't understand what you mean by "I also personally prefer switching the second and third season 5 arcs as you mentioned, but that's clunky af and would be confusing for any first time watchers alongside the Geks". The second half of season 5 does NOT follow the sequence in which the events happened in the manga. Are you implying that the correct order (which would be MVA first, then the Endeavour Agency arc) would be clunky? I fail to see how Horikoshi's own work would make less sense than what the studio went with because of complications during the Covid period. Either way, there is a case to be made for both watch orders. Because it's true that the studio didn't follow the original sequence of arcs in season 5. And because movie 2's events happened sometime in S5, which makes their decision to release movie 2 BEFORE S5 even came out questionable (it should have ideally been released after S5 in that case, like movie 3 was). There are a multitude of production-related complications that make pinpointing the exact order of the movies difficult, but this was the best I could do with the information gathered and cross-referenced with the canon timeline from the 2 movies, plus the fact that two different arcs supposedly precede/supersede their events.

Even so I don't like him as a villain that much. Too much edge. All for One had that non present fesr enducing aura but after season 3 I felt he overstayed his welcome. I wish I liked the villains more. Stain was the best villain in the series with like a few episodes to his name

He said he told her everything that happened and who he is now and I think that includes the fight with deku, that he plans to intern with endeavor, etc and the first thing she does is apologize to him. You don't have to like her but I think considering her circumstances you're a bit harsh. Also it's hard to infer her exact words since we only get shotos perspective in a couple sentences. But in the later seasons we get to know how she thinks about the situation a bit better and she never blamed shoto for anything. Maybe she forgave him for working with endeavor moving forward, rather than JUST using his flames

Stain is an incredible character all around, from his motivations to his quirk to his competency to his character design. Definitely in my favorite characters now, even though I hope he doesn’t win! What a huge change for Iida right now, a wake up call for his mentality both with how fragile life actually is whether you follow the rules or not and what’s important to prioritize in your convictions. Deku has always been such a fast learner, I’m so proud of him! His wall jumping is crazy
