Baku's character is very animated but that's what makes me love him. You'll see if he can fight or not soon enough. That slam dunk scene on Hyoman's head is extra but in the best way possible. I think ya'll will really love Gotak the more you get to know him. I just love the humor and more slice of life elements in this season. It's refreshing after the heaviness of the first even though, that's what made it stand out to me and gave it, its edge in the first place. Still, this is a good palate cleanser. Can we please get episode 3 tomorrow possibly? These episodes go by way too fast, it's crazy. It feels like seconds lol

“that was the most anime thing i’ve seen in this show” LMFAOO its true 😭😭 in a good way for me at least imo they lean into the webtoon/anime-ness of it all this season. i prefer the realism of s1 but i don’t dislike the way it’s done this season. and while baku is definitely the most dramatized character in the show i wouldn’t say it’s too dramatized or makes him out of place. a little unrealistic in certain aspects? yes but it doesn’t bother me because he’s not the only character to be like that. if this was the first season then honestly yea he probably would feel out of place.

in the manhwa perspective, Season 2 is the main story (action/thriller) and season 1 is the back story of Si eun. It was just a flash back but the live adaptation of the back story was too good some would feel like it was the main story. so i would say season 2 is supposed to be less drama and more on fighting and gangster ahh type of thing. whereas season 1 is more emotional because that establishes si eun’s character but i still prefer season 1 (dont come at me)

sieun lets anyone talk to him crazy and accuse him of doing bad things but as soon as they bring up suho he loses his shit it’s just so good. and it’s not even just because of gotak telling him that he’s the reason that suho is in a coma or the way he’s talking about suho being in a vegetable state but it’s also just him talking about suho the way he was in general. not just “how dare you talk about him like that” but “how dare you bring him up to me in general don’t speak of him especially in that way”. it also just sucks for sieun’s psyche because we know that he already blames himself and feels guilty for what happened so hearing from other people it’s his fault does not help.

honestly while in the webtoon it’s more a flashback - s1 is it’s own fully formed story and fleshes out all of the characters more/adds to them. you can no longer simply call it a flashback or just sieun’s past (even though webtoon fans hoped it would be that way lol) so now for the drama s1 is the beginning of the story and then s2 is the continuation rather than “flashback and main story”.

I think this season is perfect. It just has some humor unlike season 1, you can see it even with Hyoman versus the bullies in season 1. He's more of a "lighthearted" character. but still it has the same amount of emotional and thought provoking moments. I was a bit sceptical too when they introduced Baku like that, but I was not disappointed in this season

not only is his actor playing him in a funny unserious way he’s also just so pathetic and feels like such a non threat it’s hard to hate him. while ben affleck for example in s1 was also pathetic but it was incredibly easy to hate him.

Baku's character introduction is really just the best ever since I first watched class 2. It might seem like exaggerated for some, but I think that was the best way possible to introduce a goat character like Baku. He is just so extroverted, so wholesome, and very reliable. I really love that he brings in this fun dynamic in this season because it's really such a new vibe and it really made it seem more enjoyable to watch class 2. It's also nice to see Sieun meeting these new characters with different dynamics because it's interesting to see how he treats them and also how these new characters will play a part in Sieun's healing.

Jun-tae and his friends are majorrrr anime/manga fans too lol, the first watch when they switched to Japanese gave me whiplash 😂 I was a bit thrown off by Baku's entrance too since its so different than the overall shows tone, but it always makes me laugh when the music quiets to what it actually sounds like playing from his phone, lmaooo Also in Go-tak's defense mans doesn't know anything about Si-eun (like he wouldn't know whether he smoked or not), since Si-eun keeps to himself generally anyhow, but also they're not even in the same class and he's only just now hearing the rumors around him

Somebody analyzed the strength of S1 and S2 characters and estimated that Baku and Suho may be equal. The difference is, Suho knows how to control his strength and emotions plus he's a smart fighter, while Baku goes all out. You will love Baku's weird character if you are into that. He's a good actor as well. 😁 This is why Suho is still being talked about eventhough he is not active in S2. Sieun's emotions are triggered by his memories of him, good or bad.

You guys finally met Baku and Gotak! lol Season 1 imo feels like it’s own standalone thing whereas season 2 is where the real story begins, especially after having read a little bit about the manhwa. That’s why Baku feels like such a comic book type character and a bit over the top, but hopefully you guys will like his character eventually. He’s really fun imo 😅. You’ll also be meeting other epic/eccentric characters soon that are very important to the central conflict this season. Can’t wait for you to meet them! Seriously this season’s “villian” is one of the coolest. And the parallels in the relationships between the new characters and the relationship between our trio from season 1 are so strong. I really enjoyed those dynamics watching it the first time. Excited to see how you guys react to the rest of the season! Episodes 3 & 4 are my favs actually.

The good reaction was doing the right thing & taking accountability. He even gained Si-eun’s attention which is a feat considering Si-eun wants to remain isolated from everyone. Unbeknownst to him having Si-eun on his side is a win & vice versa!

Slam Dunk is so f-ing good, such a classic and awesome series created by the legend and incredible artist, Takehiko Inoue (who also made Vagabond and Real). Definitely in my top 10 mangas off all time. I guarantee that if you love basketball, you will love Slam Dunk. Baku does a great impression of him, but he aint close to the goat Hanamichi

I think that the difference between the two. Beomseok had no one at school or at home that's why when they became a trio he attached all his self worth to that friendship and the expectation that it would stay the same. The addition of the girl made him feel threatened. Juntae isn't as psychologically f'ed up. He has friends and interests (anime club). His budding friendship with Sieun is important cz he looks up to him and he's learning to be more courageous (that total misinterpretation of Newton's law lmaoo). But he wouldn't completely self destruct if Sieun ignored him or something.

Aww I'm a hopeless romantic too. I did watch it but I think I prefer him as Juntae more I think. I love his personality and how his character is written for Weak Hero. The XO Kitty movie was a little cringy not going to lie. lol But since I'm a fan of To All The Boys I Loved Before movies, I eventually gave in. I adored the books. I read all of them but never finished the last one. It was a culture shock to hear him speak in english. It did still have some cute parts to it though. Whoops, I thought he was already fluent in english before XO Kitty. That's interesting to know :)

Carter, that hairstyle is pretty popular and fairly common in Korea. Gotak's is like the traditional bowl cut style but has more of an edge to it which I prefer. Other times the cut comes off a bit awkward in other shows/movies I've watched. Some people even refer to it as the "Soft Boy" or "Nice Guy" trim. Because so many wholesome male characters in kdramas have that exact style. It's definitely an interesting concept one that needs to be studied. Hehe

Because, he doesn't even have an accent like a lot of others do. And me too, I appreciate his acting. He's a very versatile and talented young actor. But man Juntae will always have my heart. They made his character so lovable and extremely wholesome where you root him so much.

Based on some of their discussions as to which episode is out during their recording, they must be atleast 2 episodes ahead and it's not a spoiler if the characters are already building him up that way. I am just mentioning the comparison of Suho and Baku in strength based on character analyzation. They can even agree or not because it's not necessarily factual.

Definitely an unpopular opinion, but S2 is just not as good as S1. It doesn’t carry the same deep tension, seriousness & overall edge of your seat vibe as S1. It’s good, but not amazing. I remember episodes 6,7,8 of S1 literally had me physically sweating with my heart racing. Nothing in S2 gave me that same feeling. It’s slightly more comical & wholesome, and some people might like that, but what made S1 absolutely incredible was the fact that it felt so REAL. S2 just doesn’t have the same energy.

Nope so many K-pop Idols butcher the bowl cut due to their stylists and certain random concepts. Then it just appears like they are in their "awkward boy phase." That also can be true with characters in some K-dramas. But yeah, I find it very amusing. You know as they say, the hairstyle can define the overall look. What's even more hilarious and predictable is when the male lead at the beginning has the slick back hair when he's a ceo or something. Then when he falls in love with the female lead, and softens his demeanor, it automatically changes to the cliche' bowl cut style at the end lol

Little Spoiler (not that much of spoiler) Baku is still slightly stronger than Suho, both in the show and in the webtoon. Suho has sharp moves and excellent control, whereas Baku’s character is like steel—his punches are incredibly powerful and can easily knock someone out. It’s like Baku can take punches from Suho, but punches from Baku might be too much for Suho. That’s how Baku’s character is portrayed, even in the webtoon. He may not know the techniques, but his raw strength makes up for it. That’s why I feel he’s a bit stronger than Suho. And of course, our villain is the strongest of them all. I feel like Gotak and Suho's Techniques are quite similar and sharp, Like Gotak's Kicks were sharp and good control

I get that S2 doesn't hit us with that same rawness but i feel that's kinda the point? S1 was the explosion. Like being shoved face-first into how the brutal world can be. S2 is what's happen after you've been broken. The cost of everything they went through. The energy's different because the characters are different. Trauma's not always explosive. S2 shows you more of the emotional damage, the isolation... I guess that shift may be uncomfortable for some but it's real. Different vibe, yes but not less valid to me.

Jun Tae represents something he has walled himself off from since Suho, i.e connection and loyalty. Jun Tae is softness disguised as strength. And even though Sieun looks like he's just "observing" or "staying cautious," you can see it in his eyes: he's choosing to step in, not because he has to, but because someone he now cares about is being pulled into danger. I think if Jun Tae weren’t in the picture, he would have ghosted Hyo Man 👻

They do something to me as well. Hehe I think you would like The Prisoner of Beauty on Viki Rakuten. And it is fun how immersive the worlds and stories are. It makes you as a viewer intrigued and connected to the characters and the plot. The vivid imagination and attention to detail blows me away. But I love kdramas too. It's nice to switch around. If I want more fantasy oriented, I go for Chinese Dramas. But if I want more of a realistic grounded story, I go for Korean Dramas. Sorry girl, I always unintentionally make my comments long winded. 😅

Yeah I prefer the "white pizza" style meaning with no sauce. Sometimes the red sauce bothers my stomach. And I usually eat chicken nuggets and chicken tenders plain as well. Okay good then it's a fit for you! Xianxia & Wuxia both ofc feature Chinese martial arts. Xianxia is more fantastical & leans more heavily towards supernatural elements. I believe they reference Chinese mythology & Daoist practices. A lot of focus on cultivation & reincarnation. Wuxia features supernatural abilities but is more grounded. They reference Taoism & Confucianism. They revolve more around the human realm and touches on the themes of social justice, chivalry, & shows the power struggles within the human realm. Basically high fantasy & low fantasy. Hope that helps lol Kinda rambled & there's a deeper meaning but that's the gist of it 😄

This is the most unreal moment from the whole show, the rest feel kinda more grounded though still extraordinary feats for your regular guy. Baku, Gotak, and Juntae all three are great. I found it interesting how at the beginning of the episode, you were all surprised that Si-yeon was letting himself get hit without throwing any punches! That’s definitely a result of his trauma from Season 1, especially after what happened to Suho. In general, he doesn’t like violence, but he has to use it to survive in the toxic Korean school bullying system.

Couldn’t agree more. 18:58 — McKay’s “We are just two psychopaths, I guess” cracked me up — hahaha 31:35 — “It’s raging me. My blood is boiling.” Same for Si-eun, Cannon 😅 Gotak really touched on a sore subject and awakened the demon inside him! can you guys please edit the episode 3 post, so that it's available for the live action uncut tier? 3/4 of the last 4 weak hero episodes (not including episode 3) have only been available for the uncut tier several days after being released on youtube. forgetting to alter the post a few times is completely understandable, but it's becoming a bit frustrating :/
