I've been waiting

gomin

Yay!

Nonos

leah

devastating

Mr. John Kagurabachi

I cringe every time they speak English. I can’t imagine hearing that for the entire show. 😭 I do not understand how people can watch Squid Games in English dub.

MCH

Yohohoho

Tivy

I am sooo curious to see your guys reactions and eventually hear your thoughts on this season as a whole

ari

thank god yall mentioned how dubbed the vips sounded 😭 i knew it wasnt just me

Alex Ramirez

I really hate how quick the main cast of season 2 got killed in the first half of this season. Wasted potential IMO

Angela

They’re gonna have soooooo many thoughts 👀💀

LeBron Glazer (Bronsexual)

How does Netflix make so much money and create a cgi baby that looks worse than the one in 3 idiots

WhynefineT

what do you guys think about the vip's acting

Ayoodude

Season all together for me was meh. Season 1 is still the best, then 2 then 3 for me.

GreetswithJudgement

The VIPS ruin just about life itself. We need Brig to pop in to tell us how much he hates them.

kuza

where my fate at

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

@vanesa both i think 😭 occasionally the delivery is ok but i think a majority of it is kinda giving like cartoon villans,,but some of thats also related to the script as well imo

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

good to know im not the only one who thought 'puppies?' lol - it feels like it coulda been a bit of a narrative parallel to jun-hee and her baby kinda

Mim

Made me throw my phone across the room when i first heard it

jrnoodles

Thanks! I was not expecting the old lady to kill herself... Damn that hit hard. I thought that game was too easy, until the player really started to play the game lol. Gi-hun has to push him.

Whyrie

In Season 2 the Mom tells the son that he may be able to go on if she dies, but if he dies, she’d have nothing left to live for. 😭😭😭 UGHHH It hurts.

Nashi

Honestly, back to back great games

Anya

I actually grabbed my remote to check if my subtitles were correct lmao The VIPs are sooo cringe. The dialogue & delivery is honestly horrific!

Nashi

I'm with Carter, it looks really easy but the nerves would probably get me in that middle jump

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

also i knew that the grandma definitely wasn't gonna make it as soon as her son was gone, and was likely to off herself (even having threatened so last season) but for a moment i dared to hope she might try and stick around a little longer to help jun-hee and her baby 😔 but ofc then she had that conversation with gi-hun and it was kind of giving last wish...so sad though :( when she was begging "please let the baby and it's mom out" i just know she was thinking of her baby too 😭

Anya

"It's not your fault"- what a fitting title. Geum-ja's speech about how good & bad people react with blame is so true. It's been portrayed through a lot of our beloved characters. Gi-hun is correct in saying they've all made their own choices up to this point. Sweet Geum-ja, she basically tells Jun-hee & Gi-hun that it's not their fault, yet she blamed herself 💔

Anya

😂😂 It was soo jarring!

Anya

"No parent should ever have to outlive their child" 😞

Anya

Poor Jun-hee. Postpartum & a fractured ankle?! Jump rope is literally the worst game for her rn. Writers are wicked.

Anya

Atrocious!

Anya

There's people that actually watch it in English?! The horror! 😭

Betsy

I really felt for Jun-hee in this episode. Her ankle looks very painful, ouchie... She's one of my favorite characters. I never was good at jumping rope. And designed like this, yikes!! I would lose in a heartbeat :-(

Betsy

Geum-ja is like the heart of the show. I love how she's always trying to understand each person and give them the benefit of the doubt. She truly has a heart of gold. I would feel safer and be comforted by having her by my side and on my team. But honestly, my anxiety would be going nuts. So, I would need all the maternal love I could get. I would be taking in all the hugs I could get. I cried so much with her death. But it's understandable her pain and agony after witnessing such a traumatic and tragic event of having to kill your own son with your own hands... That would be hard to let go of. 😭😱

Tivy

Not a critique of the show at all (Squid Game is incredible and this season was great), but personally I wish they hadn’t split season 2 and 3. Since they were filmed together and season 3 picks up exactly where 2 left off, it felt less like a new season and more like we were dropped into the next episode… just six months later lol. That long break kinda caused a bit of a disconnect for me, especially since the new season jumps straight into darker, heavier stuff and some abrupt character shifts. Maybe if they’d dropped two episodes a week like most kdramas, it could’ve kept the hype while still preserving the pacing and buildup. I found it harder to appreciate certain things in the moment because I was just so overwhelmed and sad the whole time lol. Tbh it’s my bad for not rewatching season 2 first to experience it the way it was meant to be seen—as one continuous story. Like I said, this is totally just a me thing and not a criticism of the show itself, but it definitely affected my first watch. I’m looking forward to watching it again here haha

Betsy

I liked the new addition of the boy statue. It adds a nice twist to the game. But gosh they're creepy. I must watch too many horror movies. At some point, I was imagining them moving on their own. Total nightmare fuel... Eeek. 😳

Betsy

I hate the VIPs scenes so flipping much. I wanted to fast forward so bad. Their horrible dialogue rots my brain and makes my ears bleed. Please go away 😂

Betsy

I was relieved to see Gihun coming back to his senses and looking out for the others once again. But him holding that baby while jumping rope made me so scared. I was on edge the whole time. However I'm glad he was able to protect it. The VIPs deciding to put it in the game is a whole another level of messed up.

Tivy

The woman VIPs voice sounds so ai I actually can’t 😭

Anya

I agree. She is definitely the heart of the show. She embodies all the qualities of a devoted mother. She even spread love & compassion. Most definitely would be hard to let go. That's too tragic considering her personality. & she did say she'd have nothing to live for if he died. 😢

Anya

Sweet innocent Jun-hee💔 Nah, give me double dutch!

TrueCrisp

lmao when the vips showed up in the beginning i genuinely thought i was watching some sort of parody or something i thought i was going crazy

Betsy

Aww, I forgot how double dutch goes.

TrueCrisp

I think the VIPs sounding so weird is an artistic choice. It feels like their voices and dialogue is disconnected from the rest of the show just like their morals are disconnected from reality

Brett

He doesn't remember where he swam because when he woke up from his coma he didn't remember anything or much at all.

Anya

Two ropes swinging in opposite directions 😈

Vextipher

A player 457 onesie for the baby is WILD, Canon.

Betsy

Oh dear, no thank you!! I'll kindly pass on that. That would be harder 😖🤣

Frosty

The VIPs bro 😭 I wonder why they’ve been such a miss with the show being as big as it is… and yeah these people have no reason to care about a baby when they’ve already accepted they’re ok killing hundreds of people to get more money

Anya

😂😂 there's a technique to it just dance

Betsy

Oh I can dance but my athletic ability is a bit lacking. Oh I forgot I did dutch when I was kid but badly I might add 😂

Vextipher

After this Ep, now I'm wondering if you called it 😭

Vextipher

Choi is such an asset and glimmer of hope watching this show. Started off as a goofy guy but dude puts it on the line and gives me someone to root for.

Anya

Yah I guess it requires full body engagement. You're so funny lol & it's okay, your just more artistic 😊

Merry

Cannon, this show sucks. I'm secretly smiling on the inside. Best of luck for the next episodes bro👍🙂

Merry

Declaring Baby as a player is for me, the worst decision of the entire show. I know the ones running the games aren’t human they’re beasts, with no humanity left in them. But for me, the plot of the show is getting ruined. Honestly, the mother shouldn’t have joined the games from the very beginning.😐

Betsy

Well that makes sense. I would do my best but it would look a little wonky. But A+ for effort lol Good point, I am. 🤭

Ashley K

I really believe the VIP’s are supposed to be cringe and make the viewers uncomfortable for what kind of ppl they are but at least use decent actors lol. Where are they even finding these C grade Netflix original level actors bro 🙄 even ppl who don’t speak English can tell their acting is terrible with cringe delivery- especially the loudmouth one. Overacting with too many big hand gestures 🥴

James He

the red player attacked the VIP guard because he was gonna die anyway. he didnt get a kill so they were about to shoot him so he was gonna try his luck to survive.

Qhoa

W

Ashley K

Just curious, have you watched the end? I thought it was actually a good tie up to the ending and Gihun‘s message imo.

Betsy

Sorry I'm not Merry, haha but I binged it on Monday and I liked the ending. It was very impactful.

Merry

Yes I watched the entire season, and only after that i am giving this opinion. Everyone has their own perspective, and I just shared how it seemed to me.

Merry

I also played the jump rope game in my childhood it was fun and easy. But I’m really afraid of heights. On top of that, imagine a song playing in the background, giant creepy dolls around, pressure of a countdown timer, and you're surrounded by people you can’t trust who might even push you. That’s truly a terrifying scenario.

TheSauceGuy

The baby being considered a player doesn't make sense to me from the game "rules" standpoint; I wonder if that's ever happened before in the games or not. Regardless, the VIPs are evil and probably just sway things so the baby is considered a player despite having zero capability to do anything on its own.

TheSauceGuy

Am I crazy for thinking that Young-sik was going to try to kill Jun-hee and not the baby? Regardless, I found it odd that his mother would choose to save either of them over her son, especially when she was willing to die herself. I chalked it up to an impulsive reaction out of fear for the baby's safety, but if she thought he was going for Jun-hee, then I don't get it, but it's a tough decision. I feel like inaction would be easier here for her than action. RIP to all of the people who died for the entertainment of some rich scum.

TheSauceGuy

Player 124 is one of my favorites in the entire show, but not because he's very likable, ofc lol. I was kind of hoping for a "redemption" arc, or whatever the closest thing to that would be for him. Once I realized he was going to die, I hoped he would embrace death by giving up after seeing the ecstasy was gone lol. I found it kind of silly how he couldn't wait to cross before trying to take some.

floo

Everybody lost their mind in this season

Ashley K

I actually liked 124 since s2 bc the actor was so good at playing the character so I looked forward to seeing more of him in s3 and he did not disappoint.

Kim 555

The VIPs talk how I hear dubbed anime

Billie

I AUDIBLY GASPED WHAT

Billie

im acc annoyed I dont even want to continue watching this show

Kim 555

there is a squid game map in roblox where u can actually be a rat and sabotage people by pushing them

Billie

I only played the Roblox squid game once and it was so funny I need the geks to play

Billie

still annoyed

Brooke C

I just know that if Eonnie 120 is stil alive, she would've picked up 222, no doubt about it. 333 - i really cant forgive him, because they went on a killing spree, 007 had no one to kill. Plus the fact that most of the main cast were scammed by 333.

alex anderson

The VIP’s still sound bad, but I think it’s cause they are supposed to be. I would imagine that the average trust fund kid who inherits their parents company would also use weird language cause they probably don’t understand societal norms, have different tastes/experiences compared to the average person, that make them so disconnected from normal people.

Billie

is there a schedule to the squid game and weak hero drops? or are they sporadic

BipolarKitten

I’m gonna need y’all to set up a dedicated trash can camera ASAP. I wanna know the score and who’s the Lebron of bottle tossing.

allen

I think the squid game episodes are sporadic but I think they mentioned they just came back from a trip which is why they haven’t uploaded/reacted to more episodes

S Moonchild⁷

There are actually real life squid games in Korea. They do it as promotion for the show and I have seen a lot of people going and playing these.

Billie

this has been said before and Carter replied too!!!

Nasty

He is Temu thanos

Oromis

Also think they are supposed to be caricature of the show viewers. Like some of the things the vips say are word for word what people comment on Reddit/Patreon/other react sites. They make them overuse cringy English expressions as well. I'm pretty sure they are just trying to make fun of western viewers. The VIP calling 149 stupid for killing her son to save a "stranger" and newborn is exactly like one of the most common complaints I've seen people comment on that episode, calling it bad writing. It just shows how unempathetic some people are that they still think it's dumb writing that the mom did that, and then the very next episode the show is ridiculing someone as a sociopath for having that opinion. Squid game knows it's audience and uses it as part of it's writing to reinforce the social commentary. People complain the show is unrealistic, but can anyone argue something like this wouldn't make tons of money if it were real after seeing the viewership this show has? Or that people wouldn't act like this or worse in games like this if they were real? On top of that Asian shows/movies almost always dub over their live action after recording instead of just recording the sound while they act out the scene, which adds another layer of it feeling weird because the lip synch is ever so slightly off. Everything about it just makes it feel distasteful/wrong when you listen to the VIPs talk and it is definitely on purpose.

alex anderson

Never thought of the vips mirroring the audience but in hindsight it makes sense. Reminds me of the zen ohs if you've ever seen dragon ball super. More so the idea of it, since they represent two different kinds of audiences in two different genres.

C.K

I know you guys have been watching a lot of thriller, bully, and serious type k-dramas lately which I still enjoy! But I hope next you guys can react to a rom/com kdrama that is a bit more light than your usual reactions! I would suggest lovely runner, Business proposal, true beauty, and what’s wrong with secretary kim as some really popular and good options! Lovely runner is my personal favorite

TheSauceGuy

By "likeable," I meant a likeable person, not character. I was looking forward to more from him. I think he was a significantly better character than someone like Thanos.

Sari-chan

If SK is like Japan, they hire any random foreigners or expats and sometimes they have nobody to tell the production if they sound good or not. I wish decent casting native english speakers, director assistants / consultants were hired. It just ruins scenes and takes you out of it.

Sari-chan

The baby is half Mom half Dad and both are in the game. Also the baby started as "a part of the Mom" when she signed up for it.

Sari-chan

I know I always hate these randos in K or J-dramas.

Sari-chan

I was a bit worried but I could not imagine the two die there. I felt the plot armor on this one

Sari-chan

Netflix has been doing that lately with viral shows so you cannot binge it then unsubscribe. They want to keep their customer around longer.

Betsy

Me too. But I was relieved. Thank you plot armor. My heart was beating so fast. I was feeling the anxiety and stress especially when Gihun lost his balance a few time toward the middle there.

Pk45924

i think they sort of built up to the fact that she doesnt know her son as well as she thought she did (or thought more highly of him than she should, obvs shes his mother but yeah) like during mingle when he doesn't try hard enough to save her and frontman mentions it in the room. plus she sees him literally willing to kill an innocent mother to save himself. so i think she sees that junhee is more "worth saving" in terms of objectively, and ofc it was also a rash decision to save the baby

Pk45924

how so? and also the mother obviously didnt know the games would be this crazy. she thought itd be some more ddakji for like a few hours lol

Pk45924

i feel like it woulda been more impactful if she stuck thru to the jump rope game and comforted junhee as they died together or something. the hanging thing was already done S1 (the couple) so it wasnt as much impact as it coulda been imo

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

@paul i'm somewhat inclined to agree! i think it might've been better if it had been a moment of self sacrifice in a game where her loss resulted in jun-hee or someone elses win, both so that she could further aid jun-hee and her baby getting out like herself and her own son were unable to, while also making it clear she had no intention of making it out of the games without her son anymore anyways - but tbh this season kindve had a lot of misses for me, and this is one i can accept a little more given the fact that she lk did exactly what she said she'd do last season if her and her child didnt leave the place together

TheSauceGuy

@Paul I wouldn't say Jun-hee is entirely innocent, but she's one of the least shitty people there. The games change people and put them back into a more primitive state of mind. When you are put in an immediate life-or-death situation where you are essentially powerless, it's not odd to me that he'd try to kill Jun-hee. To me, it's almost equally morally questionable to expect someone you don't know to let themselves be murdered for you (even if Jun-hee is a mother) as it is to kill someone to save yourself. The difference is just that Young-sik would have to directly kill someone while Jun-hee would just have to "let him get killed for her" lol. It's not as if Young-sik WANTED to kill her. I'm not sure if you've been in a situation where you genuinely thought you were going to die (I have been), but you enter an entirely different state of mind when it happens. Not that you did this, but I think it's odd to remove all empathy for him for being desperate to save himself.

TheSauceGuy

If I'm not mistaken, the baby isn't registered as a contestant until it is born. What the baby represents within the story is fine, and it makes sense that the creators would bend the rules for entertainment. Even if the games claim to be "equal," they are not; Gi-hun's reappearance in the games is just one other example besides the baby being considered a player.

Merry

Jun-hee was dependent on others in every game. In every single game, someone or the other took care of her which put their own life at risk because of her. Secondly, I personally found her delivery completely unrealistic. Generally speaking, labor for a first child takes between 6 to 18 hours. And if you are under stress, then delivery takes even longer. And even in very rare cases, it would still take at least 2 hours. But fine, let’s consider it a miracle that she delivered in 15 minutes good for her. And if you're wondering why I'm speaking with so much medical detail, it's because I’m a doctor myself. That's why. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it's a good thing if some people liked it.👍

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

“They’re not gonna kill the baby in the show.” — Honestly, I thought that too before this season started, but in this episode I started to doubt it 🙈 And I love how you’re always annoyed with the VIPs 😂

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

Carter’s confidence in this game kills me 😂 «I wish I was in the show right now” and “Give me a baby” are insane hahah

CHIEF

What? They didn't write this episode after hearing fan feedback on the last one. Ik the VIPs are an allegory or whatever for the viewer enjoying the show but the writing is still bad, they're so one-dimensional and unrealistic. In real life they'd probably be having pretentious philosophical discussions about the players or fake surface level observations about their actions. Now that would be a good parallel with the average viewer.

Elias

I also thought player 124 would've had a redemption arc, i liked him.

Jenny D

I don't know if I could make it across. I don't think it's as easy as Carter thinks it is. Plus, if you fall you die. It's not like you fall onto a foam mat. The VIP dialogue is weird. I was thrown off when I saw them in the uniforms. The guy pushing people off is a rat.

Rebecca

it reminds me of the meme about men thinking they can safely land a plane lmaooo

Tivy

Aghhh I know it’s so annoying bro

Kayanolive

Gi Hun had to kill someone in that game so i really dont get the whole thing of how thats bad, unless he rather dies then having a chance at stopping the game

Yo Dani

Jack... they were eliminated...... thats why they were shooting them.......
