When this episode first came out a lot of people didn’t like the “slideshow” at the end of Mirio’s fight (even though the manga only had a text narration of it). For future reference, most MHA seasons are kinda split in 2 with the first section being 13 episodes and the 2nd being 12 episodes. Stopping at episodes 12 often ends up right in the middle of the finale of an arc.

its so funny that when this episode came out there was a huge portion of the fanbase (and still is really) that HATED the still images at the end showing Lemillion still fighting. I have always absolutely loved that choice, that moment is all about the emotion of it, we dont need flashy animation for it. The images allow the moment to breath and for you to really take in the sacrifice and strength of Lemillion. Gets me every time

Dude fr. I remember the week the Lemillion episode aired one of my friend told me he hated the slide show and they should have animated properly. I had read up to the ending of the arc when the manga was releasing and I had to tell that friend that the slide show part of the fight was narration text with a black panel.

Man no episode 13 is crazy. Episodes 11-13 are literally the climax of the arc, same as in season 3. Otherwise, Lemillion is the GOAT. 1v3, while being sloshed, losing his quirk and he still fight Overhaul for 5 minutes while quirkless.

I remember when that Lemillion episode aired live a TON of manga readers were very angry about the still frames for the Lemillion vs Overhaul fight like I'm pretty sure those frames were literally just the manga panels (don't quote me on that) and at the time I didn't really agree with them but I can kinda see where they were coming from like I think the still frames were pretty cinematic but I do wonder what it would've been like fully animated, I'm curious if you's would've preferred it to be fully animated or if you's like how it was done. But you's literally are not ready for the next episode, I'd recommend trying to avoid looking at the title if that's possible lol, might be a bit hard but it's something I think would be better as a surprise.

Midoriya is way faster at 20% than Mirio and Nighteye, but he does not have enough experience so he is way more predictable than them.

I like that Chisaki points out the exact same weakness to Deku that Bakugo warned him about after Bakugo beat Deku. Chisaki: "No matter how fast you are, compared to the last two, the lines of your movements are simple and easy to predict" Bakugo: "The motions when you're preparing to do a move are too big. Even when you got faster, I was able to just barely react in time." Goes to show how both of them just have crazy reaction speed and battle IQ. Also ties in nicely to the whole subplot of Mirio and Nighteye stressing the value of observing and predicting the situations and Deku just isn't at that level, eventhough he has crazy power and speed.

To the question about how come the larger anime community dont talk about Mirio is because I dont think people get this far in mha if they dont like the series to begin with. Backstory: I actually was a mha hater but I kept watching out of spite and got to the overhaul arc and it converted me lol. So I think Mirio stays as a MHA fan secret. I wont go as far to say Mirio is niche lore cuz mha in its prime was uber popular until JJK and Demon Slayer snatched its chain, but he is certainly one of the more underatted characters in Shounen. I think cedric diggory is a good comparison. Todo from JJK is another. Its easy to forget or not know the character if youre not a fan.

He hasnt mastered it, hes at 20% usage as of this episode. In terms of other classmates by the time he hits 20% he is far better than everyone else. This will only get exponential since he has One For All which is a stock piling quirk meaning it literally will get stronger forever. Even now Deku’s true 100% will be stronger than All Might’s because the training builds up forever. As for him versus other heros I think Deku is top 100 by the time he hits 20% most likely. But without spoilers for the boys or other viewers Overhaul is probably top 3 fighting strength wise so Deku really doesnt stand a single chance lol. Deku is strong but not strong compared to the best. Lemillion is a top 5 fighter until he loses his powers.

Overhaul’s quirk lets him break things down and rebuild them however he wants. He basically killed the guy, then fused parts of his body into his own to power himself up—hence the claws. It’s like matter manipulation on a biological level.

Ye I agree, however Deku is more analytical while Bakugo for example is just raw instinct with crazy reaction speed. Maybe battle IQ wasn't the right phrase. But Bakugo also said after the last Deku fight that he can do that too(analyzing everything and making elaborate plans), and that he is gonna start doing that. During their two fights Bakugo would also often say sth like "I bet you're planning something again!" or after the Uraraka Vs Bakugo fight he immediately assumed it was Deku's plan and not Uraraka's. I really like how all the characters clearly have different strength and the show makes it clear there are many paths to success.

Well the thing that worries me is how they plan to catch up before season 8 though. At this pace they will finish it in the middle of November, the final season comes out at the start of October. They will either have to increase the rate of episodes or do a MHA week to catch up in time.

Mirio is so goated, i just get chills everytime he fights because of his quirk mastery, he trained for so long and so hard to master such a difficult quirk that its just so satisfying to see him being able to do crazy things with it now, i feel like he is perfect in his role, he is the person that deku gotta look up to to progress

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but mirio fought overhaul for 15 minutes, the last 5 of those were without his quirk. This man fought, and held his own against overhaul for 5 WHOLE minutes. Lemillion is def one of my goats of this show.

Someone already brought this up in the comments, but yes Deku is much faster than both Nighteye and Lemillion at 20%. He’s just only had his quirk for a year, so his movements are more predictable due to lack of experience.

Because episodes 11-13 are the climax of the arc while episode 14 is the epilogue. It is the same as watching episodes 11 and 12 in season 3 in the same batch, it does not hit the same. Season 3 has episodes 9-11 while season 4 has episodes 11-13, that is the reason.

Nothing. Literally the whole Lemillion "slideshow" is a dark page with some text on it in the manga. The anime actually added some scenes but people want a full animated fight, without knowing that the anime already added something the mange did not have.

This upload rate would not get you caught up, especially when we can factor 3 movies in which would take an extra week out of the calculation. The only way to get caught up is either increase the upload rate or binge a whole season like you did with season 1. Either way, I am sure you have made the calculations, just mentioning it as a reminder.

I love their dynamic so much. And how similar they are, especially when it comes to fighting. They are the same type of unhinged that will do anything to win/save. Both so analytical and yeah I agree Bakugo is definitely more experienced with his quirk and his reaction speed is crazy. Yeah, the raid arc in s3 also does not end in episode 11, it ends in episode 12 but the climax is still 9 to 11. Same here, the climax is 11 to 13 and the epilogue is 14.

Not really, Scar can not repair human bodies. Overhaul can use his quirk on anything and he can cure anything with it. Scar can only destroy living organisms, he can't restructure them.

Well it is even worse for those of us who are not in the USA timezone. I can only watch the saturday drops in the same day, because the ones during the week are too late in my timezone then next day I have work so I have to wait an extra day to watch them, unless they upload them earlier which happens rarely. I did comment about Rock Lock on those episodes, can't deny, but it was more about the fact that I felt the reactions they had to him were way too overblown, kinda sucking the joy out of the video. And I don't think the comments(apart from a certain one) were even that bad, just people disagreeing with them. Yeah, it did take some attention from the Kirishima episode but to be fair they have mentioned Rock Lock in every single video opening since he was introduced, so that was always going to incite comments.

Yeah I understand that, but McKay did say himself that they were going to drop 3 but did not because of the comments about Rock Lock, which comes across as kinda childish. And especially if they want to move on from this, just not mentioning that at all would have been better, now it will just repeat the cycle and people will talk more about why they did not drop the 3rd than about these absolutely goated episodes. And if they do always do 2 episode drops, they will not be caught up for season 8, they will be more than a full month late. I think 3 episode drops when they make sense are not only better but a must, so they can get caught up in time.

I appreciate you guys putting out this consistent content always and can't think of better people to rewatch this show with. I had to hold back the tears in this episode with you guys. It is honorable the lengths these heroes will go through to save a little girl. The amount of trauma and pain that she has gone through is hard to imagine even for this show. Lemillion 🐐 was so OP that he had to lose his quirk because Chisaki was terrified of him. He likes his chances a lot more with Nighteye and Deku. And he’s willing to do anything for Eri including get dirty and merge with other humans as a germaphobe. Next episode is a guaranteed banger!! Keep expressing yourselves genuinely and being the best reactors out!! There is still so much peak to happen in this very season and knowing how much you guys enjoy the lore, I think you'll enjoy S5 too. Please keep being honest in your reactions, Hori is often intentional on how he writes his characters. I notice sometimes at the end of ep 11 some reactions show the subtitles explaining how long Lemillion fought for and some don't. During the end where he's dodging attacks with music, it explains he arrived at overhaul 15 minutes ago and 5 of those minutes was spent fighting him quirkless. He lived for that long going 1v4 and isn't even a pro yet. That's why he might be #1 including the pros.

I hope you all can see all the parallels, Lemillion is doing many of the same poses and attacks that all might did during his final battle giving his all to save a little girl just like all might did to save the woman when he could barely use the last of his quirk. They cut it for whatever reason from that first ep with Lemillions last stand but in the Manga they had Deku narrating it all. Mirio stood his ground and defended Eri for FIFTEEN MINUTES on his own ina 1v3, with 5 of them being completely Quirkless

Reading the manga can definitely be a double-edged sword, because you are reading the source material and you can see what Horikoshi is trying to portray and normally the animation team does a great job of bringing it to life. BUT, in this instance, Mirio was even better in the manga. It was better to read the fight yourself, the anime kinda cut out animation while Mirio was quirkless and gave you a slideshow. Because that is NOT how it feels when you are reading it. I hate to be that guy, but the fight was even better in the manga. It felt like they didn't want to take it to 11 with Mirio because he isn't the MC.

Lemillion’s fight here is genuinely fantastic. He’s such a goated character and it’s amazing to realise that none of that came naturally to him - that he had to train super hard to be that precise in his quirk and hit people really hard still. It’s what makes the quirk deleter bullet even more devastating. The fact he got up and kept going is just peak hero material. Also can’t wait for the next ep. Honestly one of my top 5!

S4 Ep 11 really came for my tear ducts again cause tell me why I'm sitting in my chair tearing TF up, WATCHING Cannon and Carter tearing up as well, and going "I hate how cinematic they made his sacrifice". Cause you can't tell me that you felt nothing when Mirio covered Eri's body with his own to jump in the way of the bullet hitting her AND PROCEEDED TO LOSE HIS WHOLE QUIRK FOREVER???? The thing is, many things in the MHA story circle back to each other. Even if it’s not explicitly mentioned. Just like Izuku’s words about “twisting the future” ring true both in Ep 12 and Ep 4 when he was talking to All Might about his future death, the scene Mirio is shown smiling at Eri and stroking her hair to make sure she doesn’t worry about him all circles back to All Might and his principles. All Might says that he smiles so that the public won't be daunted by the fear villains cause, and also to trick the fear he feels inside himself. While Mirio probably didn't know what exactly would happen to him if he took the bullet for Eri, it's not too farfetched to assume that he WAS anxious and afraid about the outcome as he shielded Eri. How could he not be? For all he knows, he could be getting shot with a real bullet, which would definitely kill him if it landed where it did. He could have also been expecting the same version of the quirk erasing bullet that hit Tamaki (Suneater) before, and that still would have been terrifying, because he would have been unable to perform to his full potential without his quirk, even temporarily. Because that fight was far from over. He still would have had to face Overhaul after that. But despite not knowing his fate as he covered Eri, he kept his joyful smile on his face. He was and is the very embodiment of wholesome cheer, and the fact that he was able to put on that smile (a smile that All Might also puts on whenever he's saving people) to reassure the person he's saving that they're "all right" and "he'll save them" really broke something inside me. Mirio isn't just a selfless person, he's a HERO. A hero who makes good on his promises to save someone, who sacrifices himself without even pausing to make a decision just to save someone in need, who prioritises assuaging the fears of the people who need saving by plastering on the sweetest, kindest smile he can muster even when he's scared and anxious on the inside. The music that plays in the background during the still frames of him absolutely demolishing Overhaul WITHOUT his quirk, together with the flashbacks of him practicing harder than anyone else around him just to catch up, plus the image of his tiny, young back with his cape fluttering behind him destroys me every time. He worked SO HARD, and because he worked so hard, he became an amazing hero who was treated as enough of a threat that his quirk had to be eliminated just for the villains to stand a chance. Even then, his story is still just as inspiring. HE is so inspiring that the tears just start squeezing their way up. His efforts ultimately led to him losing his quirk, but him bouncing back INSTANTLY without hesitation was what really cemented him as one of my favourite characters. Mirio may be dorky and fun, but what lies inside him is experience that he knows exactly how to leverage to gain the upper hand. Just thinking about the scene where you can literally see his quirk getting destroyed throughout his body forever always makes me cry buckets. I can’t even imagine how he feels losing a part of himself that he’s had his whole life and trained so hard to work together with his body. He never deserved to go through something like that, and for that, Overhaul should die. And don't even get me started on the absolutely atrocious way he manipulates and gaslights Eri. It is sickening, what he’s done to her for her to feel desensitised to the repeated cycle of death and revival he puts her through. Her kind soul deserves so much better than to be used as a means to unravel society into pieces.

"Make sure you take responsibility!" - The way this line from Rock Lock had me GAGGED on this rewatch???? How did I not notice that disgusting foreshadowing before?? I am actually going insane. He literally took responsibility for their rescue mission by using the one skill he swore he would never use again. Not after All Might. But he did it anyway, because he saw how hard Mirio worked to save Eri. He saw his student, his mentee, the one he's raising to be the next Symbol of Peace (according to his standards) all beat up, learnt that he lost his quirk forever in the process, and because of that he decided to put in his all and try to find a solution to make sure that the future that Mirio worked so hard to reach is realised. But then he finds out once more that the future he sees is one that ends in death and defeat, and he despairs because he CAN'T change it. He's TRIED that multiple times in hopes that he can change All Might's future, and failed. So obviously, he falls prey to the future he sees, which involves him getting stabbed straight through the abdomen and through the arm. Izuku is supposed to die together with him as well in that future. But whether this future will come true is left to be discovered in the next episodes, of course. However, the fact remains that Nighteye CHOSE to break his personal vow to make sure everyone's efforts are worth their sacrifice and the pain they shed. And him getting speared by Overhaul in the process was such a cruel ending to his sense of responsibility that I get depressed just thinking about it.

Rewatched episode 11 again and remembered something. When Mirio jumps in front of Eri to take a bullet, we forget that Eri would actually be happy if she lost her quirk, so the bullet would not have done anything bad to her. Mirio thinks the bullet is an actual bullet that will kill her though, which makes it even sadder. He could have left the bullet hit her, Overhaul would lose any reason to keep her around and Mirio would still have his quirk. But being the absolute goat that he is he never thinks twice before moving. Actually knowing him, even if he knew all that he still would not let the bullet hit her and harm her in any form, that's how much of a GOAT he is.
