Seeing the previous 8 tails jinchuriki talk about how much it truly sucks to be one was super depressing. He basically said if he had something or someone in his life that gave him the will to live as himself, beyond being a jinchuriki, then he'd be able to endure the suffering that being one gives him. What Naruto and Bee were lucky to find was unconditional love, support, and faith and that's almost impossible to come by for a jinchuriki

Guys, this debate about ‘should’ and ‘could’ was good... but there's a reality: even if you become the villain, your conscience will never find peace. Rewatching it again, I think the author does a great job of presenting both sides of good and evil choices. In a way they actually give us evil Naruto. In my opinion anyway, Tobi represents what would happen if Naruto/ a main character, made “evil choices.” They are both essentially the same character, with different approaches to achieving the same dream. So things stand out more with that to me realizing how important Iruka, Bee, and Shikamaru were to Naruto

Cells are just someone's DNA. If you are trying to use someone's power/ abilities, it stands to reason that DNA is the logical link to make that happen. As far as the discussion at the end, I think you kind of have to ask yourself who has the most reason to be angry or carries the biggest burden. In life, you meet people that lead with anger, frustration, rage and it makes sense that in the world of Naruto (the world of child soldiers) there is going to be a lot of unresolved emotions and such. Bee and Naruto have spent so much of their life overcoming hatred, misery, and loneliness, but not everyone else is easily going to overcome these things. Sasuke has a rage inside him. Japan somewhat has a rage inside them, we dropped a nuke on them and it still affects them to this day. They may have had some culpability in their demise, but that doesn't make it an easier pill to swallow. Anyway, that's kind of how I see the rage inside Sasuke, if that makes sense

The point is just the best guys who aren't ambiguous can deteriorate, which is one of the main themes of the show. Naruto as a character fits in with pre-deterioration Sasuke, Nagato, the Attack Titan guy etc. They're all so similar they could be friends.

Y’all skipped tiny bits of canon in the beginning of 296 , Madara said according to Kisame intels Naruto now have the same power as the first hokage's wife Mito Uzumaki as to sense hatred and hostility when in 9tails mode that’s y he’s the only one who can sense Zetsu .

yeah Carter's right, Naruto's sudden power up can be jarring because we didn't see any of the actual training, but its so sick lol. We've been wanting him to power up for a while, and right now he has total control of his form. If he can only get the 9 Tails on his side completely and be able to control it like B does! And yeah, "should" have been the villain is a bad way of putting it. He definitely had every reason to do so, but he also had reasons NOT to. Should have is too much of a closed statement. Despite everything negative that happened to him, he still stayed true to his heart, and wanted to be the hero and the Hokage. That's what makes you root for him so much.

SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE WATER 7 ...it is interesting that Carter said he didn't care about Luffy's sudden power-up to Gear 2 and 3—within a twelve-hour span, he went from getting no-diffed by CP9 to unlocking new abilities, no-diffing Blueno, and then extreme-diffing Lucci. Maybe it's because One Piece has never really shown any training among the crew, while Naruto has dedicated arcs for it, so it's expected from one but not the other. Even then, Naruto didn't use any entirely new abilities—just variants of his existing ones made possible by the Nine-Tails' chakra.

I feel like Naruto’s power up isn’t crazy at all. When he fought pain in just sage mode two of his clones used a massive rasengan at the same time to send two of Pain’s summons flying. And then when he was taming Kuruma he did like a 30 clone massive rasengan barrage. So 6 rasengan isn’t really surprising after controlling the nine tails. And we’ve seen the multiple arms before already.

Yeah I think it comes down to the way each story sets your expectations in terms of power ups. From what they've seen so far one piece fights usually have the growth take place during the fight while Naruto has been a lot more intentional in showing the training behind each of the power ups Naruto has gotten previously.

Good question. Off the top of my head I'd say one point is the amount of character development. Naruto was never hateful or a murderer (I don't think he even has one kill?), but Thorfinn was exactly that and changed into the exact opposite, what makes it more impactful. Then I love how we basically got to follow Thorfinn's entire life from little kid to older kid to teenage years to adulthood in a more fluent way, being around 20 in Season 2. While in Naruto we have the 12/13-year old Naruto in Classic and the 15-year old one in Shippuuden. Everything else before and after is just so short. And Thorfinn simply feels more relatable, because he lives with his values in basically our world and not in a fantasy word. Also he gives off more chill vibes and I think he would match more my own energy haha Love Naruto too though!

I get it :D I was surprised at the end of season 1 bc it initially seemed to be about finding purpose in revenge, but it was a story about grief.. And Thorfinn is fully sketched out! He has both uchiha and naruto sides to him so to say, and it's great to see it play out in such a focused story.. I love both these main characters too!
