Was worried there for a sec that this show got sakamoto’d 😅 Glad we back 😂

I think all english reactors should watch this show in dub. The geks haven't complained too much about the pacing but i know alot of reactors find it fast. I feel like the dub is a completely different experience the show doesn't feel fast at all and flows very smoothly plus the voice acting is very good. I never advocate for dub but for this show i think its almost necessary.

Damnboy 2.0

Ep 6 gonna keep this on lock

AV

LOTM is so peak

JevCor

maybe someday, bleach is my big 3 goat.

AV

As a novel reader, the show is definitely very fast paced, but if you are able to pause and read subs, you'll get all the necessary information. This adaptation is good, they just need to slow the pace a bit. Also, you guys should check out the English dub, it's good.

Ben Everest

Highly recommend reading at least the first couple chapters of the novel, found that it cleared up a lot of questions i had early on

Murasaki

The Opera part in episode 5 got cut by Crunchyroll?

Felix Gryphon

Theory not spoilers (I have only watched as much as you) I'm pretty sure the feathers are the feathers from the wings of the true creator, the giant upside down chained god

Felix Gryphon

Also the Show vs Book, the book is much slower and the show condenses like a hundred plus chapters already. But there is a difference, the show isn't in the same order as the book. The book goes around a bit at the start, and the show follows an event based order for each episode, you one episode might contain chapters 60-70 but then might also contain stuff from chapter 20, so it goes back to talk about certain things missed. Since it fits more chronologically

Murasaki

I saw comments from novel readers that everything will wrap up beautifully by the end of this season and I'm waiting for that. I don't think Tris and Mr Azik would be just one off characters.

Nue

lets go

Murasaki

The pacing of this show and One Piece TB are extreme.

Ftn

Its been 4 days since you reacted to one piece ..

Noggen

to be specific it was a 9 (klein), 9 (frye), 8 (leonard) and 7 (dunn) vs 7(trissy) with the help of the primordial demoness to fight off dunn

Noggen

also the time shown of that big battle at the start of episode 1 is set 2 months after klein transmigrated

Murasaki

I wonder if Zhou transmigrated like 3 months ago? Seems there would be connections among all these things. And would those dead people that disappeared as mentioned in the history of Hornacis be important to the main plot? I'm crafting theories on my own and I enjoy this process although I think it would be better if they could slow down a bit and give more explanations, a rewatch helps a lot tho.

Benny

It was definitely there when I watched. There was a gap in this reaction at the start—maybe they saw it but cut for some reason?

Dub_quinn

Have y'all heard the English Dub? It's actually really good! It's easier to watch all that's visually going on, but also it's an old English accent so it matches their outfits and town better too. Also I think Klein's deeper voice in the fog is epic

Dub_quinn

lol I also thought of Harry Potter when I saw the door open to the other shopping area too

Lil Mimi

Nah I haven’t but would get them to watch dub they speak so fast like I can’t even catch up. I’m use to Japanese

Reeko

Let’s gooo I was waiting for this one! lol

Dexter Gaba

The manga have popularity ranking for every character in the series! They’ve released a version of that for every arc (I believe) with lovely visuals. My goat is #1 most of those polls, I’ll let you guess who that is LOL

Nicolai

There is no dub for the new episodes they only later so that would require them to wait a few weeks and delay upload

Dub_quinn

Dang, I hate dubs can’t release at the same time

Nonos

Dunn smith the captain is a sequence 7 Nighthawk. They showed it when you first met him I think but it’s easy to forget since that’s the only time they show it I think. And it was the 1st episode.

Nonos

Also just wondering if you guys ever saw the after credits scene you missed in episode 4 since it was kinda important lol js making sure

eimi

i think you guys are following pretty well. But yeah I definitely highly recommend Old Niel's Mysticism because I think it'll clear up a lot of confusion of the pathways which in turn will make some story elements make more sense. I know a lot of people find it annoying to have to look up extra things outside of the episode but honestly it increases the enjoyment for me. It feels like the pay off of a good test score after studying lol

HaoHao 9

Sequence 7 Nightmare of Sleepless Pathway

Nonos

Oh yeah right thanks for the correction. Lol some of the names are similar so I mix them up

HaoHao 9

Can’t watch reaction for a bit but some things you guys might’ve been confused about: Ep 5 The pendant thing that Klein found in the underground market that is said to be Roselle’s just says “Idiot” on it in Chinese Klein used a ritualistic prayer to restore the mirror and have it reflect Trissy. You heard the ending portion of it in the episode. The “Sunflower Manual” is referring to a classic martial arts technique in well known Chinese stories where the user has to castrate oneself to practice it (typically very powerful tho). Ep 6 Klein gets burned cuz he is looking at something he isn’t supposed to look at. And by looking at something he isn’t supposed to look at he learns things that he isn’t supposed to know. If the gray fog didn’t exist he would be dead.

jrnoodles

Thanks! I'm still lost and it's getting tiring. At least it looks good.

Vinny Deluca

They do Tuesday and Thursday to my knowledge so that makes sense

JevCor

My best advice is just watch the show, it'll give answers as it goes on, stop trying to understand everything right now. If youve watched ReZero just think of it like season 2 where it introduces mysteries and new things and then unravels them as it goes on.

JevCor

Which is annoying because Crunchyroll was talking up a simuldub until it released then suddenly nothing.

JevCor

lol... one piece fans...

5:10 the mandated punishers and machinery hivemind are just the Nighthawk equivalent of 2 other churches (the church of the lord of storms and the church of the god of steam and machinery respectively). I think it was described in one of the old Neil lesson episodes. 9:39 it says “idiot” in Chinese 13:47 a bit more information on the 3 part honorific. Basically only the Gods have 3 part honorifics while beings weaker than them require more lines. This is because the more powerful one is, more general descriptions can specify them. However describing someone weak with many lines probably also won’t do anything because they are too weak. It only works for Klein cuz of the gray fog. Just as an example if you say something like “the goated basketball player of the modern age”, it may be enough to directly specify Lebron because of how good he is and how he is viewed in current day. However other players may also be seen as goats but are not as “powerful” as Lebron so you need more lines to specify exactly who it is since many people may match the description. 14:17 military training is required in China as part of their education although it’s for only a few weeks 23:13 Frye avoided getting frozen cuz he’s a Corpse Collector I believe the version released in China actually had some text on screen to explain but I don’t think Crunchyroll updated Ep 6 33:00 It is 1 minute in a 15 meter radius, not 15 minutes

HaoHao 9

Basically the structure of the show is very different from the novel. In the novel all the episodic events seen in the show are all kind of happening at the same time. So the Nighthawks are investigating many different things at once and then they each reach their conclusions while another case may also be going on in the background. As you can imagine it would be pretty hard to adapt them finding clues to different cases all the time. So the studio decided to do an event based structure so that everything that is related to a certain case are all put together into a single episode instead of spread out. They are leaving out some small details of what happens so things are moving really fast but keeping the important main points each episode/case. A lot of the world building/background/abilities of each sequence infodumping is put into the old Neil mysticism lessons (on YouTube) instead. While slice of life events/character interactions unrelated to the case in the episode are put into the chibi shorts. Which is unfortunate but they only have 13 episodes for 213 chapters.

evascure

yall are the best reactors, im so glad you guys are understanding

Den Wolf

I have some bad news if you want to know what the main plot is guys (Don't want to say when in case you consider it spoilers), just for your knowledge this is a trilogy. As for book vs anime, anime has great moments, really loved the Azik episode, but a lot of world and character building is cut out. Most importantly, a lot of context is going over your heads due to how rushed the anime , not to mention the info that is cut from the anime, even what is included has been delivered very poorly.

Ethanielmori

The English dub just came out and honestly it's easier to follow because they also simplify the wording so it's easier to understand. I might recommend waiting on that.

HaoHao 9

Note: post credit scene ep 7

Benny

GUYS! Crunchyroll now has—unless I missed it before—separate seasons for Old Neil’s Mysticism Class and Chibi Theatre. They give some great details! Lesson 3 in particular is fun, gives good context on the Sequence skills, and some hype for Klein’s progression. They only refer to stuff that’s already been in the show, so no spoilers. I wonder if we’ll get new ones with each main episode…

Huxley Bennett

I haven't read much yet, but kept feeling like the show was skipping a bunch of information so went and checked the book out to see if it was just the writing style...yeah the show leaves out SO much info. Almost every question I had from the first few episodes (aside from the usual questions about the larger plot), is answered in the book. Things like "Zhou did a ritual which led to his transmigration, is magic/spirituality a thing where he's from?", or "how does he suddenly know certain things unique to this world?", along with much more context to Klein's life and the general setting, are all made super clear right from the start.

Douglas

So just wondering when we're getting ep 7 reaction 👀

GreetswithJudgement

finally caught up, episode 6 was probably my favorite episode so far! Love Mr. Azik. Only more greatness to come.

GreetswithJudgement

And yes as a fan of the web novel I like the show. But like a few have mentioned it is moving a tad fast. But for the most part I'm really digging it. I'm also just happy we get an anime adaption of one of my favorite stories. Also as confused and amazed as you guys look watching it, I think your grasping most of what's happening pretty damn good.

Yuyuan Di

Wondering when the next update will be? Season 1 is now available to watch the finale on-demand in China

tali

I know this comment is quite old but where can I watch the finale? is there like a website?

Yuyuan Di

Unfortunately as far as I know you should only have to wait for the weekly episodes except for the Chinese site which is showing up to thirteen episodes in advance. But let me start by saying that the ending was really, really great!

Marlon Douglas

Can any of the Gek give some info on LOTM drop?

Enero Shadow

you gonna keep watching the show?

Rachel Dias

Those cursed items really reminds me of scp foundation entries
