I read somewhere that the ending of this movie was originally supposed to be how the show ended.

UltraBenjy

I’ve waited so long for this. Finally we’re here

Seth Aasland

Nah if Bakugo had One for All he would be a PROBLEM 😭

JevCor

I'm so glad the package got there for this recording!!

katsuki’s wife

Fun fact: this was initially how the manga was supposed to end but Horikoshi (the mangaka) came up with a better idea

monsterhead

"I dont care if he's at the zoo" poor koda 😭😭

bondbond53

I don't care what Horikoshi says this movie is not canon to me personally lol

Mugiwara

Now I can't wait for them to react to movie 3. I personally think it has 2 of the best bakugo and todoroki fights in the series.

TheHollanLegacy

This movie means so much to me, I love it. When I watched this movie the first time, it was with my now fiancée and it was the day I realized I loved her. So happy to see yall react to it as well, I'm excited to watch

BEST MHA MOVIE

Dub_quinn

“I don’t care if he’s in the zoo” killed me haha

HaoHao 9

yutaka nakamura da goat

humbleandkindness

Also just to cover it since idk what day it is, Happy Birthday Cannon!

alex anderson

To be honest this movie didn't as hard compared to the first, it just feels like the same thing but in a different context. For me, it just looks nice.

Justin ⟢

Honestly one of my favourite anime movies of all time. MHA doesn’t miss 🔥🔥

Tivy

I’m only halfway through, but I love how this movie gives everyone their moment to shine. At its core, MHA has always been about Deku and Class 1-A, so I’m glad it reminds us why our main crew is worthy of being the world’s future pro heroes.

Elle B.

My favorite thing about this movie is just the Bakugo/Deku friendship development. They are such a great team.

stako

been waiting to watch this for the first time with you guys. im so locked in.

Alanin_8💜

My absolute favorite part about this movie is how it does a great job at involving all of class 1A

Chosos Wife

The subtitles i watched were slightly different and they explained what happened at the end as OFA granting a miracle to help save the day. Which also makes more sense in terms of him not having to like ingest any DNA (well I guess they rubbed bloody fingers) or having to wait for a few hours for it to work etc

Chosos Wife

Honestly the whole ending with the soundtrack had me sobbing like a baby

Guy

Seeing this in the theater was a TRANSCENDENT EXPERIENCE when it came out holyyyyy

Nic Lichtner

Agreed the reasoning for one for all going back to Deku and Bakugo "forgetting" is just a little too convenient. Good fucking movie though, but fitting it into the cannon story is... hard to believe imo.

Jimmy

I was also a bit annoyed by how the movie ended but Bakugo coulda just given back the quirk so I didnt look into it that much. The movies have no impact to the main story despite being canon so I just view it as an over the top power of friendship side quest.

cade-carter

why does anyone thing this... he would lose his combustion power because it would transfer away stupid

Tyler Owens

It was the last movie I saw in theaters before Covid and it was INCREDIBLE. The whole theater cheering, I’ll never forget and probably never experience to the same degree again.

Volt

Ending was the coolest and dumbest thing ever at once but it's still peak, the my hero movies are all sort of canon, where the main canon things are the new characters and the things surrounding them but this one is definitely the one that plays with the rules of the story the most in a bad way with the ending it just doesn't add up but we ball.

Enzo Becherel

I gotta say the ending is a bit iffy on the "one for all choosing to stay in deku" part, but i completely overlook it purely because of the rule of cool

Connor O'Hara

lol the movies are awesome but they do have a problem where everything has to go back to normal by the end of the movie. deku has the power back, bakugo forgets that ever happened, and nobody died. still a fun watch tho

NINJA SWORD

Mostly this isn't cannon at all, all the movies are like that

86 LilaS

My god these subtitles are so janky

keyton bush

Canonicity aside, it’s an absolutely peak hero move on Deku’s part to give up his quirk after never having one and being given the ultimate gift. His desire to be a true hero far exceeds a mere ‘hero fantasy’ where one receives glory and adulation. Deku truly does good for its own sake rather than his own reward.

kai

double One for All gagged me so bad on first watch

Tyler

Horikoshi said this was how he was originally going to end the series but he thought of something better so he let bones use the idea for the movie

Cat

I love all the parallels between Deku & Katsuma and All Might & Deku. Deku telling katsuma he could be a hero too is such a wholesome moment. Deku just goes around inspiring everyone

Enma

is this movie worth watching? I havent seen any of the movies other than the first one which was pretty mid to me.

Cat

They both had cuts on their hands so when they rubbed their hands together Deku's blood got into Bakugos. That's how he transferred it

Cat

It was a very fast transfer tho 😂 His download speed was a lot faster than Deku's before the entrance exam

Kevin

This was such a peak movie an think about it… The strength Bakugo has is crazy bc even with it being his first time using OFA and having that much control over it was insane. It just shows how prepared he would’ve been if he was the one to originally get OFA but I’m glad they chose to keep it with Deku. like it just shows how mature Deku is as well being able to read the situation and remember that he would have been able to use it just as it’s embers bc I didn’t even think about it until he mentioned it.

Chosos Wife

Yes I know thats why i said they rubbed fingers but it happened immediately and he could suddenly use it at 100

지원

yeah it is good

Tivy

The double OFA scene with Deku and Bakugo always leaves me shook. The emotion, the music, the animation, thinking Deku is quirkless again—it is one of the coolest yet most shocking moments in the entire series. But the more I think about it, it is SUPER conflicting. I get why OFA chose to stay with Deku, and I respect how his willingness to give it up stays true to MHA’s themes. But although Bakugo forgetting was the cleanest way to wrap it up (if he remembered, it might’ve been weird), the way he just forgets is a bit too convenient. And while these events are “canon”, this movie is more of an interesting take on a “what if” scenario. Horikoshi said this was his original ending concept, so ultimately this is a passion project demonstrating what that could’ve looked like. For me, it’s simultaneously one of MHA’s most exhilarating highs yet most conflicting ideas. In the end, I think it’s just for enjoyment and seeing glimpses of OFA/Deku’s potential as he grows.

Tina L

That is unbearably sweet!

JevCor

I think he just takes some characters from the movies to add to canon moreso than them actually being canon, I also just treat them as one off what ifs because they don't impact the main continuity.

Belly

def

Justin ⟢

Yeah I agree, these movies are partially ‘cannon’ in my opinion. I see them as passion projects more than anything else tbh. But there’s something in the main show later on that may explain why the author considers them cannon. Won’t say too much though.

Cat

The animation in MHA movies is always amazing. I think the third movie might be my favourite overall? Not sure. But it's so hard to pick it over this one caus I love seeing Bakugo & Deku fight together and we get so much of it in this movie. And the animators really did pop off at the end

JevCor

Yeah also I believe the only thing canon about these is that he takes some of the characters he likes and adds them to his collection.

JevCor

Yeah, its not lol, I think he just says that so people don't decide not to go to the movies lmao

Dub_quinn

I absolutely love the seasons more (there’s way more emotion and meaning in the fights), but just to see possibilities in the universe we love and chef kiss animation, these movies are nice!

ObiDougKen0bi

I dont want to spoil anything, but anyone telling you this movie isnt canon is wrong, and this movie especially so

Cat

Sorry. You said he didn't have to ingest DNA so I thought you didn't realize they had open cuts on their hands. Ik I missed that detail first time. I just thought they rubbed their blood together and I was very confused 😂

Mufufu

I love their faces when Deku gives One For All. They're like, nope, the denial haha

Mufufu

If they like this one just wait for the last movie, PEAK sakuga and better story telling

Dub_quinn

Koda finally got his flowers lol, but way more excited to see other side characters shine like Sero, Shoji, and Jiro

Ana

W packages

Jack

Fantastic Movie

Jack

Yep he did, the crows were clutch

Dub_quinn

True, the seasons progress with or without the movies

Lori

Confirming that this movie was originally Horikoshi’s idea for the series ending! Just imagine AFO/Shig in Nine’s place, I guess lol, which would explain why he was so insanely OP. Knowing this, it’s clear how Horikoshi views Bakugou’s importance to the plot and to Izuku, bc their strategy simply wouldn’t have worked with anyone else. (And yes, Bakugou with OFA is scary powerful enough to melt through a mountain 🤣 )

Tamar | Sanji’s Attorney

Animation sold this movie for me because the writing was straight buns 💀A good movie if you suspend your disbelief

Jyle

Every single movie is cannon.

Tivy

1:50:30 — Just to clear up something guys, Deku never says “this is the story of how I become the most powerful hero.” He says “the world’s greatest hero.” And if MHA has taught us anything, it’s that being the greatest hero isn’t just about being the strongest. This isn’t me indicating anything, but it’s worth keeping the difference in mind when thinking about where his journey is headed!

Lori

Regarding All Might… I miss the crap out of him, too, and I miss seeing him fight. But the fact of the matter is that this isn’t All Might’s story (although I desperately want his full story lol). All Might is the GOAT, but he is unfortunately only a supporting character in Deku’s story. A crucial supporting character, though, bc he is both Deku’s ideal/dream and also the cause of Deku’s main conflict. By giving him OFA, he also gave Deku this centuries’ old legacy of tragedy and responsibility that he frankly should’ve been more upfront about lmao (in his defense, I suppose, he thought/hoped AFO was dead and no longer a threat). The fact that Deku accepted the immense burden of OFA’s legacy with such grace and courage proves that AM chose correctly.

katsuki’s wife

Yeah, with AFO or Shigaraki instead of Nine, that’s why he seemed way more OP.

Lori

This! And to add, one of the biggest questions that MHA tries to answer is “what makes a hero?” Not just the greatest hero, but ANY hero.

Storm Alex

i agree but this movie was definetly the biggest stretch of them all.

Alan

I never really understood the whole leaving your kids unattended to work thing in Korean and Japanese cultures. The only logical reason that makes sense to me is that the crime rate in Japan is a lot lower than other places? That mixed with the culture of working super long hours maybe?

Tina L

The silence during Two for All made my day.

Tivy

1:55:31 — Respectfully I gotta disagree lol. I do miss All Might, he’s probably the most lovable characters in all of anime, and I do miss seeing him in his prime. But his character isn’t being ruined or squandered just because his role in the story has shifted. At the end of the day, MHA isn’t his journey. The whole point from the start has been him passing on the torch, and part of that means stepping back so we can follow the journey of the person he chose to carry it. Just like how the embers of OFA have faded, his role as a powerful presence has too, and that’s intentional. What makes All Might great isn’t being the jacked and unstoppable hero in 4K lol. It’s his ideals, his selflessness, and the way he’s become an incredible mentor. Watching him guide his successor in the background is just as powerful in its own way as watching him fight in the spotlight, and I think that makes his character even better. Small Might has a special place in my heart :)

Frizen

I see All Mights wording as saying OFA simply shared its power not necessarily being in the process of transferring to Bakugo and then choosing to stay with Deku.

M1GZ

Sero was truly moving like spiderman this film buddy was not giving up.

Tivy

Exactly! I think sometimes people get caught up in the action because it’s a shonen, but MHA has strong messages you always have to keep in mind.

lawswater

crazy watching this for the first time, i never got around to it for some reason. it definitely doesn't feel like my hero towards the end and doesn't feel very cannon but for sure enjoyed it! ofa bakugo goes crazy, but the reasoning is so empty

lawswater

spoilers for end of the show kind of⬇️ the (unintentional) foreshadowing is insane

Pavlo

So what im getting from the comments is that hori was gonna end the show here but didnt so he let bones use the idea for the movie?

JevCor

Yeah pretty much.

M1GZ

Cannon gets it these movies aren't truly canon they're "canon". Like Horikoshi didn't write this, there's a reason they leave it off so it can be like nothing ever happened at the end. Ofc its amazing some of the best animation out there but like Cannon said its scales things up to sorta an unrealistic amount and doesn't really connect to the over arcing story. I'm sure Horikoshi enjoyed them when he watched them and he might call them cannon and wink at there existence but the truth is still that they were never apart of his original timeline of the story, and of course he's gonna say they're canon lol these movies make millions of dollars.

Tivy

Basically. They took the concept and turned it into a “what if” scenario. All the movies are canon, but this one is definitely the biggest stretch.

M1GZ

I will say the first movie definitely is more canon than the others as its directly mentioned and connected to the main mha story. I think the first may have been created to be canon but the three after were definetly created for the $$$$ so it makes these "canon" statements seems a tad hollow.

M1GZ

They're "canon"

goblin.bones

Horikoshi did assist with many of the movies, and does in a way canonize them in the manga at a particular point I won't detail - however I do agree that a lot of the scale tends to be much more large/intense when it comes to the movies!

LetsGetFired

Yea I think two OFA was the original final battle twist before Hori thought of giving Deku 6 additional Quirks. So the movie recycled the idea and allowed us to see what could have been. The manga was also supposed to be around 30 volumes total but ended up being extended to 42. I imagine the double OFA ending worked better when the story was more condensed.

Chayanne Acosta

It’s because this was the original ending but then he came up with a different better way to end it, as stated in comments below. So he had to come up with a way for Deku to retain his power, albeit he should’ve came up with a better reason for how Deku retained OFA but it is indeed canon.

M1GZ

really? I actually enjoyed the last two a lot less than the first two I thought the sakuga was amazing but the story seemed dumb and unrealistic ever more so than this one. My list would definitely be 2,1,4,3.

Chayanne Acosta

Many parents have to do this, not just in those cultures. It’s just a matter of teaching your kids to be responsible at a young age, some kids had to grow up fast well others got a chance to be kids.

goblin.bones

Echoing what others have mentioned - Deku transferring OFA to Bakugou was actually a major part if Horikoshi's original ending for the series, and one that he gave approval for being used in this movie instead! I think that also lends to why the transfer back to Deku feels a little choppy in terms of writing/lore, along with another plot point you guys won't get until later in the story. I won't go into details either, but the movies were both (at least somewhat) overseen by Horikoshi and were canonized in the manga in a light way that doesn't affect the main plot, but I don't wish to spoil! all in all - I just have to be honest and say, as someone who considers MHA to be one of my favorite pieces of media, getting to relive it through yall and watch you genuinely enjoy it and engage with it gives me the same excitement and happiness I got when I read & watched it for the first time, and I'm so grateful for that, and for your candid interactions with it as a series. Cant wait to see how you feel about the story to come. : )

Alan

I’m more talking about like the little kids running around unsupervised

SilverAtlas

The best way to think about the movies I found is that the new characters introduced in it exists in the main series, but the events of the movies themselves just can't realistically happen. There are a few mentions of these new characters in the Anime itself, but this movie in particular just goes way too far. I think in Japan the definition of "canon" is a bit looser so they can just not worry about making extra content all fit together.

Grady

U guys should do a “the iron claw” reaction that movie is straight up devastating

SilverAtlas

The whole class went plus ultra. Exept Invisibile Girl lol. MVP has to be Sero, he was awesome.

Chayanne Acosta

Ah I see, yeah I believe your right and it’s because crime rate is a lot lower in Japan, I actually hear it’s kinda weird and unsettling for those who move here, in America, or other places around the world from Japan because they can walk late at night without worrying about getting robbed or mugged in Japan and the rest of the world isn’t like that sadly.

Bri

I agree with you guys that the ending is a little lack luster, but I can’t help loving it due to the animation and how well they’ve depicted the students working together. The last fight scene was absolute cinema! I also really like it because Hirokoshi (the mangaka) originally intended for MHA to end like this, with Deku giving Bakugo one for all in the last fight. He ended up going a different route with the story, so I think this was a really nice homage too what could’ve been.

JoLen

Dark shadow got hella nerfed in that cave bro

Kinx

For those that were saying to watch this right after season 4, it clearly shows Tokoyami flying around in the movie. It would of spoiled his episode in season 5.

Gabriel Mendez

I'm gonna cry watching this with you

Indifferent Denji

NO the movies are all canon to the story id dont know why its so hard for ppl to get.

Ana

I love All Might and he hasn’t left he’s just not fighting. He’s not the main character guys 😭😭 Remember this is about the next generation and the passing of the torch

JoLen

I can’t wait for You’re Next, though we have a while to go

JoLen

Koda Uchiha of the akatsuki 🔥

Indifferent Denji

These movies are canon period, but it really doesn't matter because they have no plot weight on the over arching story. But they dont have to be not every entry in a series has to be, like currently the latest dbs movies plot doesn't matter other than to give gohan and picclo a new form. And that is rare for dragon ball they've only had a few movies that are cannon. but mha is a special case these events do happen just they arent that important in the grand scheme and to be honest thats fine cause the next few arcs repercussions are much bigger than than this. This is something you are gonna have to understand with anime they life to do shi like this all the time. Modern anime are chainging that with Demon slayer, jjk, adn csm. Its gonna be hard but this is really something ur gonna have to understand. Mha is special in that the movies are cannon so you can let yourself have fun and still appreciate the rest of the series i can assure you that you wont be disappointed at all. As someone who watched all this go down in real time i understand the feeling but seeing then as canon can enrich the story. Especially if you guys plan to watch vigilantes. And there is a nine prequel manga too if you want to see deku and bakugo meet him pre this movie and get more info on what his deal was. But id watch the end of this season before.

Tivy

Basically the reason why this movie’s threat is on such an overpowered, unprecedented, AFO-level scale is because they needed someone THAT powerful to show what the final battle of MHA could have looked like if they had kept this idea for the ending.

Sickness

Dude I am not lying when I just literally said to myself "Let me go on Patreon and see if these guys have uploaded the MHA movie reaction yet" because I haven't been on for a good week or so. I am fucking telepathic or some shit. That must be my quirk. This is dope I got this to watch before bed. :)

Evelyn_Endwise

Movie 2 is the strongest of the four movies imo, despite the iffy return of OFA at the end. It's the only one where basically all the class gets to participate in the plot to a decent extent as well as having great Deku/Bakugo payoff which I think the movies should aim for. Personally I'd say it goes 2>1>4>>>>>>>>>>>3. (3 is a major miss imo). 1 is a bit vanilla (I do really like it tho), but of all the movies it fits very neatly into the existing MHA story. The rest go a bit too nuts to be believable.

LeBron Glazer (Bronsexual)

I mean there’s a pretty big difference between a “canon” movie like this and an actual canon movie like Haikyu or Demon Slayer which actually moves the plot of the overarching story

Paul

The animation was goat, that's what I expect from a MHA movie :).

Lil Mimi

Sometimes it's best to keep opinions to yourself. This movie is worth watching so go for it.

Indifferent Denji

yes obviously...but thats a fairly new thing these movies both came out before even mugen train. And dbs broly wasnt even a manga arc adapted. Those movies replaced a arc in the anime and I think they probably did mugen train twice because it was such a new thing. These mha movies add unneeded but fun new events that you can put in and choose if you want to acknowledge them but you cant deny the creators saying theyre canon. This debate shouldnt even be a thing after s7 atp. The events and characters are canon but the events hold no plot relevance. Simple as that. So they have to write off stuff like the bakugo ofa thing to please ppl who want to say they arent.

Lil Mimi

One For All said we ain't gonna give this quirk to this crashout Bakugo

kai

these movies are literally canon to the main story……

Marsuvies Black

So basically one for all gave Bakugo embers and let Deku keep the power is the easiest explanation.

Miguel

I love the reaction people have to that fight

ssgutd

Worth noting that ALL the MHA movies are cannon. Confirmed by Horikoshi and the Anime in later seasons. The premises are pretty wild and convenient but they are cannon. 💯

ssgutd

Those who know

M1GZ

They’re soft “canon”

M1GZ

You can’t deny the creator said they’re canon sure but you can disagree I mean….. he isn’t gonna flat out say they’re not when they clearly want him to say they are. Regardless of what Horikoshi thinks of the movie he has to say they’re canon because they bring in the $$$$

M1GZ

On top of the whole multiple quirks thing

Indifferent Denji

Um no hes doesnt???? Thats not how that works. Its his series? Regardless of how the movies do canon or not that had nothing to do with horis work? Why do you think the studios get the final say ok whats canon in HIS series? He didn’t just say it either he has literally brought characters and items from the movies into the main story. I think thats more than him “having to say they are” be real. You can disagree but that means ur just being willfully ignorant. If ur a mangaka as big as hori you are jot getting bullied into sum like that. He probably did it because he liked the movies he himself has influence on.

Indifferent Denji

I dont think money would be a problem for hori wither mha is pretty big in japan. And i feel like hes big enough to at least live better than most jump authors. Sure he deserves wayy more because mangakas are over worked and underpiaid but at his level hed for sure be more protective over the series.

FrostyMiniYeets

right before the final blow my patreon gave out and had to refresh, apparently thats the power of peak

M1GZ

Ok y’all or gonna make me die laughing, they’re “CANON” they’re about as canon as the filler eps or when anime has a “beach” episode. Nothing like an actually Canon movie like the upcoming demo slayer movie. Why? Because It has literally zero connection to main stories plot. The only reason they’re actually “canon” and not filler in my eyes is because horikoshi has winked at the existence of these characters later on but that’s just not enough… lol, it’s exactly as Cannon stated these movies are not taking into consideration plot, loop hopes or power levels at all it’s not meant to be taken seriously just like the canonization of the movie itself. It’s like wink wink “Canon” oh yah all those ridiculous things that couldn’t have possibly happened during the school year as well as world changing events that are never once again mentioned by a single character once….. BUT COME ON it’s all canon now cuz Horikoshi drew a cute lil panel of the side characters. Like boys common… There’s a difference.

M1GZ

He says it so he can get his cut 😝$$$

Juan Avila

Even tho mha as a whole isn’t my favorite, the moments are always legendary. I remember watching this fight for the first time and just being silent the whole time, the animation and music was actually beyond peak. This fight means sum to me personally, it’s literally all I ever want in a fight besides emotions, it’s so good. This is like my top 10 fight in anime maybe, the animation is insane, and for a modern anime the fight is much longer than I thought it was while watching. The only modern anime fight that was long with insane animation consistently was sukuna vs mahoraga, this fight isn’t lengthy but just me sitting wondering when the peak is gonna end but it kept going with the music getting even more bombastic was just special. 10/10 just pure fighting and spectacle wise, can’t wait for what the new mha season got in stored for us.

Avik Das

LOVE YOU GUYS

Yam

"ill see you in UA one day" interesting

Gestrid

Yeah, the ending is a little... "turns out, everything went back to normal"... but it is *definitely* canon.

Tivy

I love how at the end Deku tells Katsuma, “You can become a hero.” It’s such a nice parallel to the start of his own journey when All Might said the same words to him. It’s cool to see him already inspiring the next generation of heroes and how he’s now become to a kid what All Might once was to him.

Conk

Is this movie as mid as the last one story wise?

kai

dude ik all im saying is that theyre canon to the main story line but they serve more as an AU bc while the characters do exist and Horikoshi acknowledged them, none of the world-shaking events that happened in the movies have any real impact outside of them!

Nash

Man look at that table lmfaooo I also got some MHA figures (Hawks, Dabi, Endevour, Bakugo and Shigaraki) they’re my top 5 too 😭

T.Yaseen

Bakugo using One for all next to Deku is peak

Atokorki

This was the first and only anime movie I've seen in theatres. Needless to say it was peak cinema

Moon

For all its weak points, the best part of this movie for me was 100% the teamwork between Katsuki and Izuku. I love seeing them fight together, because they understand each other's styles so well that they complement each other like two perfect fitting puzzle pieces. It's so damn satisfying to witness their chemistry on screen, because no other pair can replicate what they can do together. There is a certain pride in seeing these two characters come so far from their days of hatred and fear. Not only are their minds wired in similar directions (analytical, sharp, focused and unafraid to sacrifice their bodies to win/save), they also need minimal words to communicate their intentions during a fight. While outside of fighting, they pretty much suck at using their words to reveal their inner thoughts, they keep up with each other perfectly well and to an almost scary degree throughout the entire series. The fact that Katsuki understood Izuku intended to transfer One For All to him without him needing to spell it out is one of the scenes that is most memorable to me. What's even more shocking is that Katsuki actually took Izuku's hand. I remember a good portion of fans were sceptical about Katsuki accepting Izuku's crazy suggestion, because receiving One For All from Izuku would mean that Katsuki's own power wasn't enough to defeat Nine (a philosophy he always, ALWAYS strives to uphold). He has never wavered in that regard (as in, accepting help that will boost his own abilities without him needing to work at it). At the time, seeing Katsuki take Izuku's hand was THE most heart-stopping scene in the entire movie. I literally held my breath because I wasn't sure if he would, despite hoping and anticipating he would. I thought he would disappoint my expectations. But Katsuki never has. And never will. And I thank Horikoshi every time I watch/read MHA for creating such a complex character who drags out all these emotions in the fandom aka me. Anyways, movie was amazing, reaction was goated, and I can't wait for the next drop. We're in the thick of it now. The story's just gonna keep getting more and more intense. I hope you guys are ready!

Farfaraway

My take to these movies are just enjoy it as it is. It’s canon to some extent, but if you think too deeply about it, there’ll be no end to it😂 its a good movie nonetheless

raregekota

World’s Hero Mission is underrated 🙏🙏🙏

Avik Das

If you consider Canon then Movie 1 is the most canon , because the events , the characters and a very special equipment is brought in the main story in the future seasons .

Lexzc

Well if you take in to account a certain moment in season 7,this movie is very canon,i doubt that moment would have happened otherwise, also keep in mind, this movie was made before that manga chapter was even done and its not the first time the events of the movies get directly refferenced or become part of the plot of the manga itself.

Valde

Are y’all watching on Crunchyroll? The subtitles seem off

Lexzc

They are either canon or they are not

Ronald

This is the worst movie, the next one is the best, and the fourth movie is either tied with the 1st for second place or slightly ekes it out. Definitely don't lose faith if you didn't like this movie. World Hero mission is INCREDIBLE.

Northie

we're getting into spoiler territory here ..

Sam Davis

Will definitely be watching after work today!!

Limini

McKay is such a mood. HES FIVE!!!! he cantjust heal everybody

Limini

they should have had bakugo transfer it back at the end, easy peasy

Limini

NOT the most powerful but the number one hero

Limini

bakugo melting the wall was my fav part as well

Mdmarki

Also "nine" is part of the real lore of the history

Shio

LOL his face whenever he sees Koda btw, from what I recall, this is a spin-off of MHA, which the author said in the interview that this was the inital idea of the original finale of MHA but he decided to come up another one that's why there are so much parallels of AFO with Nine

Jsb011

It has good moments but not my favorite

Dub_quinn

Sometimes things are called canon that aren’t because who’s going to tell the fans they don’t actually have to watch it 😅 it happens in other franchises too, no one wants to lose out on the money lol. It’s understandable but viewers always catch on

M1GZ

This^^

M1GZ

Completely agree with this list

Levifold

I think of this movie as a story beat that could-be-canon, but not actually canon. I know a lot of people would argue against that seeing as certain characters make an appearance in the series later on, but I'd still say it's a could-have-been story. I love it for what it is regardless. Also, I absolutely headcanon that Bakugou woke up before Deku and transferred OfA back to him and then pretended to not remember so as to save his pride.

Vextipher

I liked the pacing, action, and villains a lot more than the first movie. While the location and the connections of the first movie was better, it dragged at the middle until the end for me and main villain least memorable IMO.

M1GZ

Also super different on a small island town where everyone already knows one another

よ ち

Here's a bit of trivia: The plot of "Deku handing over One For All to Bakugo" was scrapped in the final chapter of the original manga. This means we may have witnessed this story in the main story.

JevCor

At what point did they not like the movie? what lmao

JevCor

Nah, the author can pick and choose what he wants to make canon. You think the author of a series is gonna come out and tell the fans of the series that a movie isn't canon. lmao

JevCor

I don't think you understand how editorial and the production behind the movie works, they 100% would pressure him to say its canon to keep the hardcore fans from ignoring it.

Mia Malvik ⚞ • ⚟

Bakugo not having memory of what happens is super annoying and I almost put my head through a wall on my first watch of this, but sadly it was necessary to keep the main storyline as intact as possible

Indifferent Denji

I think you think thats how it always is. I just highly doubt it. And regardless it doesnt matter what they pressured him to do if he decided its canon he decided its canon. Why werent all the op, or dragonball movies canon? You dont think the studios wouldnt do the same to toriyama or oda? Mha is one of the new generation of big series in jump. At the end of the day we know hori has activley worked these movies into later beats of the plot when he didnt have to and he said they were canon. All this “well the studios wouldnt probably pressured” s just you guys trying to make stuff up to somehow make yourselves bigger authority on whats canon than hori or the production team. This is a conclusion most mha fans come cone to you guys are just tryna push your own beliefs into a the truth to change it. Bottom line the creator of the series said theyre canon you can do wtv in your head but making up situations that you have zero proof happened to strengthen your claim is not how that works. And regardless we collectively came to the conclusion that they were canon after this movie came out if im not mistaken. So that point doesnt even matter mha fans are definitely gonna come back after the first movie and that movie only needed the promise that deku and all might would fight together something we never get to see. You guys think that all studios run the same but these are case by case basis that you can just apply to wtv and say its true. Unless you have proof they “pressured him into it to make sure ppl saw the movie” then theres no truth to that and ur just assuming that happened. Theres was a time when it was kinds murky but eventually hori confirmed it with a few clever plot points.

Jack

Netflix

cozo

one of the best scenes in anime honestly so peakk 😭😭 i wouldn't even mind if bakugo kept ofa instead of deku

QuirklessEsty

Once again, peak reactions and super based opinions. This movie had so many amazing animated scenes, but that last movie actually felt like it had a story to me… and as much I adore peak animation, idk what can surpass the feeling I had when Dave saw Deku as the future symbol of peace… all to say I’m glad you enjoyed this one, but it does leave a sour taste with the way the ending explanations were handled. Hope you’re ready for more peak 😁

Keanu

This was my first time watching the movie along with you guys and I have to agree with a lot of your points, it really did feel like a movie to just showcase potential. The villain was just a shallow punching bag that allowed all the students to go all out without effecting the main plot. Animation obviously is amazing but in terms of the story its pretty weak. A fun watch though!

Neptunestar79

I haven’t even watched the video yet but there’s debate on whether or not the movies are canon which all of them are!

M1GZ

define canon

Synith

VISIT MY MINECRAFT STORE 🤞

Unlucky Trandon

MAJOR ONE PIECE SPOILER IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP TO THE ANIME @Indifferent Denji I've only seen OG dragon ball and a bit of dbz so I can't say for the broly movie BUT Oda changed or added stuff to the main storyline to promote the One Piece Film Red movie. Shanks showed up at Wano and didn't do much except to aura farm a bit and claim that he's going after the One Piece which he didn't need to go to Wano to do. But he just so happens to go to Wano and get a bit of screen time in the manga when the movie (which was centered around him and his daughter) was close to airing in theaters.

justin

hell nah the last two are the worst ones

justin

all the movies are mid story wise lol

justin

your list couldn't be more right

Indifferent Denji

Not tryna even be a jerk but idk what you want from me out of saying this. But like ive said making films canon is a relatively new thing since all the other one piece movies arent canon and red came out during this boom in movies being “soft canon”. I call them soft canon cause they are present in the story but the impact isnt as huge. I think alot of mangaka and directors are deciding to make more movies canon because athe amount of cultural significance the dbz movies had. And the amount of fans wanting that material to be present in the actual story. I think its a much better way to do it than having these amazing characters and fights and just saying they dont matter. Thats lazy imo. There’s outliers in everything but being able to identify that aspect and knowing when it does apply is important. Also i am aware of that fact im a one piece fan before an mha one!

Saggy

you are my goat, good sir

Lexzc

The explanation is a bit far fetched but somehow itll make more sense down the line, just remember what the black whip holder said "You will be the one to complete OFA",i cant add more because its spoilers for season 6 and 7,but there are enough bits of lore to justify how just this one time and never again,OFA was momentarily shared. Also, the third movie "world heroes mission" takes place during the next arc and before the last arc of season 5.

Chosos Wife

Bro what planet are you on, the 3rd movie is awful

Tivy

Bakugo kept OFA? 😭

Nasty

These villains are much better villains then the actual league of villains in the main show lol

cozo

horrible take 😭

Marcus

Fun fact: Originally Horikoshi intended for this idea of Deku & Bakugo both going OFA to be the ending of the series. My guess is that obviously the opponent would’ve been AFO, but glad to have seen it implemented in some capacity, and animated to a tee

Nasty

Nah so far the main villains are pretty bland while these guys seams to be so much stronger and main villain better written.

radia boumechera

My favourite movie eveeer of all 4 movies !!

Albin Limani

There is nothing to define. Horikoshi himself has said they are canon, noyhing more to argue really.

Miitei

I'd say your statement is true for all the movies. This was also my first watch for this one, but I've seen the 2 that are left and they were a good watch, just not something i would call relevant for the main story.

Guy

changes my opinion on the gimmick at the end honestly. i like how they still gave that story line a try tho!

Vernus

Heck yea bro. I’m finally alive!!!

Nashi

I've been saying that for so long in the comments but I was absolutely ostracized lmao

Ryan D

Even though all the movies are technically canon, treat them however y'all want to don't stress. I look at them more as fun what-ifs or like a similiar timeline with some slight deviations. They still have gas animation and important character moments, plus subtle hints at whats to come, but the movies aren't necessarily essential essential to the story (In my humblest of opinions fr). I watched them all after season 7 and My journey was still mint as heck. Can't wait for end of season 5 and S6😁 peak overload

Belly

garbage take

Lemonsqueeze

This is why i've never been a fan of anime series making movies. They always tend to mess up power scaling and the power system.

Lemonsqueeze

But still great animation 👍 just not a fan of messing with the story

Vinny Deluca

I need you guys to watch the Fate/Stay Night: Heavens Feel movies. That specifically probably has the best animation of all time imo, it’s Ufotables magnum opus (tho the DS movies may give it a run for its money)

s4ean

Assuming you've only watched up to this point in the show?

Neemz

It’s not crazy to say that the final scenes literally changed me with that animation and OST combo lmao

Sloth

Deku giving Bakugo his powers was supposed to be the ending of the Manga originally, but Horikoshi changed his plan on the ending at some point. I guess they decided they may as well show the idea in a movie since it's still a pretty cool plot and makes a lot of sense in the story.

Tee

I suppose my gripe with the movie is other than the fact that that last explanation was…something to say the least, I feel like it kinda does what the main story already does. Deku (and bakugo) showing Mahoro how amazing heroes are? Already done with Kota. Deku showing a kid that his power is actually a blessing? Already done with eri. Even the villain, is an AFO ripoff. Thematically, this movie doesn’t contribute as much to the characters or story as the first one did. The first one was about essentially, the passing of the torch and how the young heroes will step up to the task. This one is a bit dubious, it’s almost the same message as the first few seasons. The animation is glorious, but there’s a reason Horikoshi scrapped that idea of OFA being passed to Bakugo, and I fear the whole passing on the torch only to have it revert back, and to give a bizarre explanation harms the good writing that the mangaka has put in, to actually explain a lot of the world building in the manga. The input by anime only content, feels a bit choppy like it doesnt fit it with the tone or direction of the manga, and I watched this movie a few days ago so I could watch it with y’all, and the fact that the absence of the movie doesn’t affect the plot at all, like I said, it’s a bit too convenient. A fun watch though? Absolutely

Daniella

Call me Midoriya cause the way i've rewatched that double one for all scene (like i've specifically gone to netflix and watched the scene multiple times 😭) I understand the mixed feelings of ending...i was also like really? on my first watch. But it makes sense considering with where the movie is placed as Deku hadn't unlocked blackwhip yet - even though in the manga he would have by now - so i guess Bones had to do a 'it was all a dream' for Bakugo otherwise they would have had to deviate from the manga. Imo the first movie is definitely stronger for me but that fight is my favourite out of the four movies although the 4th movie is absolute madness :) thanks guys!

Neptunestar79

Horikoshi Comfirmed all of them canon! Melissa’s wristbands are mentioned in season 6 and everyone’s shown from all four movies in one of the last episodes of season 7

jrnoodles

Thanks Geks! The One for All transfer was a little cheesy.

Albin Limani

Think of it like the vestiges being like we will allow this once, but Deku has to still keep the quirk. This was supposed to be actual ending of the anime but it was scrapped so they made it into a movie. Think of the movies being canon something like this. Some of the things that happen in the movies are acknowledged, but not everything has to be taken as it really happened. It is a fun way to go crazy with animation while not affecting the main continuity or breaking it.

Albin Limani

They are not even close to the League of Villains, in any season. 2 of them are not even characters, they are just there. Chimera is cool, 0 character though. Nine is also cool, but not enough character to make him memorable. Pick anyone from LoV and they are better.

Hayden Ton

the movies aren't really canon... that's why they're so random like this. Nothing permanent like deku losing one for all would happen in a movie.

LookingForOwls

At least one of the movies directly affects something that happens in the main story.

mish

MY FAVORITE MHA MOVIE!💥

mish

wait which movie you talkin about?

Sam Davis

Of course there's Rock Lock being useless as usual 😂😂😂😂🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️

Sam Davis

That prominence burn ate them up

Sam Davis

This movie amps up so good never gets old

Sam Davis

Kacchan of the Bakugos

Sam Davis

Kaminari is really the only one other than Izuku to ever call Bakugo Kacchan

Sam Davis

Love how the Villains show up & INSTANTLY start wrecking shit 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 as it should be

Sam Davis

Chimera is a problem!!

Sam Davis

One For All 20%!

Sam Davis

Katsuki has been putting in work forreal

Sam Davis

Nine seen Izuku powered up even more & said NOPE! Gotta use the lightning

Sam Davis

Koda being more useful than Rock Lock 😂😂

Sam Davis

Being Compatible with All For One must be crazy

Zaptozz88

I really enjoyed the fun Go-Mayham idea with duo one for all. It doesnt inpact the main story AND it was an amazing peak fight. The Last movie ties MUCH better in with the story and has THE BEST animated fight in my opinion. Great reaction yet again boys, much peak to come. Lets goo

M1GZ

The first one definitely seemed more tied to the story while the last 3 are mostly just for the $$

TRILLHO

the vestiges probably took one look at bakugo's psyche and said nah we'll stay over here

Sam Davis

Deku CAUGHT EM WITH THAT KICK!!

Sam Davis

Izuku attacked Katsuki Saved

Sam Davis

The kids being casually blown away by bakugos blast 😂😂

OH MY GOOOODDDD MY GOATTTEDD MOVIIEIEE

Nishant Bharali

Yeah, this was one of the original ending the writer thought of initially, but changed it for something greater.

TED103

my favourite of the movies its so peak

Michael Kitten

52:05 to this day I laugh so hard at her touching Deku there 😭 OUT OF ALL THE PLACES ON HIS BODY TO MAKE HIM FLOAT, SHE TOUCHES HIS SHMEAT.

india holloman

It’s anime it’s all cheesy at some point. It still was cool.

Sickness

They are canon. Horikoshi literally said they were. They just don't have much impact on the main storyline. The movies never get brought up much.

Sickness

Not gonna take the opinion of someone who can't type proper English grammar correctly. The main league of villains are way way way better.

CatchyGhost

I dunno. I mean I don't completely disagree with you, but I do think there is still a different message here. Kota, Eri, and Katsuma all have different hangups about quirks ("Heroes and quirks make society worse" vs "my quirk specifically is a curse" vs "my quirk isn't good enough to help me achieve my dream", respectively). I think Katsuma is a stronger parallel to young quirkless Midoriya than the other two are, which I found pretty compelling. They all are pretty similar for sure, but there is nuance. (I also don't think Mahoro has a problem with heroes, she just doesn't want her brother to become one and get himself hurt. But that's just my interpretation). And while you're right about the previous movie showing that young heroes can step up, All Might was still there to save them because they weren't really ready yet. In this one, they were actually on their own, and had to fight with no real heroes to fall back on, and they won. I think it shows their growth really well. 100% agree with you about the weird quirk reversion and memory loss though. Bakugo with OfA is a cool concept, with very poor scaffolding to hold it up.

Tee

I feel you for sure, the situations definitely aren't the exact same, but I do feel like some dialogue felt repetitive from the scenarios I mentioned, like Eri and Katsuma and their parallels yknow, which made it harder to find the distinction. I do believe that the movie had some heart warming elements, but it also felt a bit...on the nose? Like the movie is a bit less subtle than the series, which again goes into the writing detriment I mentioned. So bc of that it started feeling repetitive to me, especially with the kids and their specific grievances, bc it felt like only the origin of their grievance was different not necessarily the implications yknow. But I understand what you mean, and you've opened me to a new perspective so thanks man

india holloman

Just because deku uses 100% doesn’t automatically make him the strongest to just totally stop any overpowered character. This nine dude is a mini all for one. Even all might struggled in some battles. It’s not how strong the power is it’s how you use it. We should never expect deku to instantly come back just by punching at 100% one time and then breaking his bones. He wouldn’t have even beat over haul without eri where he could constantly use %100. I love deku but he’s not there yet.

Vera

I will never forget watching these movies in the theater, it hit so fucking hard

Jenny D

I agree with Cannon and Carter. I like the movies, but its hard to see them as part of the main story. I feel like its more of a side story. Not that its not important, but its hard to fit what's happening in them with the main story. Maybe its more fluid in the manga. I am glad Deku didn't lose OFA. I know the transfer didn't go fully through, but Bakugo definitely did seem to have the same level of power, but also the same limitations with using it like Deku has. I also miss All Might. I know he is more or less quirkless now, but I still thought he'd be around and that we'd see more of the training.

Lightning789

They exchanged the power through the open wounds in their hands (If you look closely, you can see the open cut on bakugo's fingers). The blood from Deku's fingers acted as a medium, similar to how ingesting All Might's hair worked. Basically it's just another way of how the DNA is needed for the transfer.

Jenny D

Oh, okay. I did notice that they touched fingers, but it didn't realize that there was an open wound there. That makes sense then.

Ayo

Carter's face was hilarious lmao

Lightning789

I already responded to someone else with this but I also want to add on a couple of things: They exchanged the power through the open wounds in their hands (If you look closely, you can see the open cut on bakugo's fingers). The blood from Deku's fingers acted as a medium, similar to how ingesting All Might's hair worked. Basically it's just another way of how the DNA is needed for the transfer. As for why Deku kept the power, All Might first suggested it was because the transfer was cut short. Bakugo was seriously injured soon after it began, and the chaos of the fight ended it before One For All could fully take hold. It probably explains why Bakugo could use it immediately, unlike Deku, who had to wait hours for it to activate before his season 1 exam; they SHARED the power this way instead of a permanent transfer. OFA’s transfer needs both intent and enough time for the new wielder to accept it. The other scenario All Might realized immediately after was that One For All has a will of its own: we know that it has its own sort of conscious from what we see in season 5 so far with the original blackwhip user and midoriya's dream. Chances are that the OFA vestiges decided Midoriya was the one it should remain with. Both are valid interpretations in my opinion. I can see how it its kind of just a cheap way to keep the story going, I can't really deny that. but I think it works based on what we know. (also idk if any of this was mentioned in the end discussion, I haven't watched that yet.)

Nasty

Mha fans are something else that's for sure lol, so you only respect people's opinion if they write in perfect english? wow that's something

Violet833

Somebody else pointed out if bakugo would have gave it back, he would have given away his explosion quirk since one for all takes the individual quirks as well when passing it on but also I loved watching bakugo and deku work together. They make a great team!

Tivy

Wait that’s so true I completely forgot about that

Tivy

This is a really good analysis

Noelle

I agree Cannon. I like to think of the movies more as "what if" scenarios more than obviously canon. Since the movies were written after the current animated parts of the manga and then posthumously placed into the timeline, the characters obviously don't acknowledge these events, and if you view it as canon, then it seems kinda weird for everybody to be acting like this big incident that just occurred didn't happen. Its stuff like this where you could skip and your understanding of the many story wouldn't be affected. I really like the movies though, but it's hard to suspend by belief that the characters would just completely ignore these events, so i like thinking of them more as "what if"s with very slight elements that may be reintroduced into the main story. ABSOLUTELY no hate to the movies tho, they rock.

Kayanolive

Yeah the movies aint canon and im tired of hearing that. "what ifs" fits better

Kayanolive

14:59 McKay cameo! haha

india holloman

I agree, it’s already been introduced that the power isn’t set to certain rules just with the fact that deku will obtain all of the past users powers. As well the past users are living within one for all not just dormant. It makes the most sense that they chose deku to keep the power, it doesn’t just transfer so immediately anyway. Of course the guys will get the full picture soon. Their criticisms were still valid without this other consideration.

Kayanolive

They are not canon but characters that originally came from the movie are being made canon. These are what ifs. that double one for all made zero sense

Kayanolive

Deku should talk to the vestiges and make them realise that always doing that would be pretty strong. Its stupid movie fun i wouldnt look into it too much

Kayanolive

They are not canon so just enjoy it haha. Its a lil what if story on an island and its never being brought up again

Kayanolive

Characters from the movie are being made canon yes, but the movies itself are not. otherwise deku should always share OFA to Bakugo and just talk with the vestiges to allow it time and time again. You write yourself into a corner as an author if u allow this to be canon. Its fine not to be canon its not like its meant to be an insult to the movies..

Kayanolive

Get off that high horse and find out LMAO

Kayanolive

Again, some characters from the movies are being adapted into canon even tho they originate from filler material. the movies themselves are not canon even tho some bits can get adapted.

Kayanolive

If people would stop treating "The movies are not canon" as an insult to the movie, we wouldnt have so many ppl scream about it being canon. If u adapt a few characters or plot points from the movie into the main story canon, that doesnt make the movie canon yall pls stop it

Dexter Gaba

Yeah but they are canon?

Dexter Gaba

The movies are CANON ( correct spelling) . A confirmed fact by the mangaka so y’all can stop arguing cuz it’s weird.

AJCoCoQueen

lol, if you guys thought their fighting capability in this movie was amazing… wait till later seasons 🔥

Knoebility

Seriously. And people keep saying they don't relate to the main plot, which is only true on a super surface level. The ideas, characters, and events of the movies are reflected in the main story. In some ways more obvious than others (would be spoilers to list them though, unfortunately). I think people just don't really analyze that much. "Media literacy is dead" type shit. If the Geks revisited the movies after finishing the series, I'm sure they'd pick up on how the first two movies are significant to the plot of the entire story. Because they actually discuss and evaluate things, instead of going in with their minds made up and wanting to start fights in the comment section 😂

Knoebility

Thats a lotta words to type to say "I'm wrong" tho...

Kayanolive

Parts of the movies like characters get adapted into the main stories canon later on but the movies themselves arent.

Jordan

Wroong

Kayanolive

Hope they use the double OFA more man or reference it in the show. Maybe im gaslighting myself cause no way that should be canon

Kayanolive

The events are just never brought up so ofc ppl thinks its filler or at the very least pointless thats why i think he just adapted movie characters into the main canon and said the movies are canon so people get into the theaters

Earthshatter

ngl the plot was very ok.... BUT THE ANIMATION THO!!

Alex Mehmeti

One for All really said at the end "great move Deku, this time I'm gonna let it pass and give it back to you. Don't you try that again"

Mdmarki

MHA account dropped by accident the final trailer of season 8 AND ITS LOOK SO FUCKING PEAK GEKS, IF I'M NOT READY U ARE NOT EITHER

Swish Mix Productions

HELLA MANGA SPOILERS THO BUT CRAZIEST THING IVE SEEN. DONT WATCH THE TRAILER EVEN WHEN YALL ARE CAUGHT UP GEKS.

Mdmarki

There isn't too much tho, like they couldn't do a trailer without showing any spoilers being the final season, but they saved the best parts not spoiled IM SO FKIN HYPED

Ashlee

This movie is def my fav out of all of them its just TOO epic 🔥

katsuki’s wife

I also heard that voice actors nearly passed out cause finale is so intense gosh I can’t wait

Stairguy

Deku doesn’t say he will be the most powerful hero, he says he becomes the Greatest hero. It’s an important distinction.

Stairguy

Bro, the creator of the story says they’re cannon. That’s why we’re all saying it’s cannon. No other reason. It’s not that complicated

Mdmarki

Yeah that's truee

Swish Mix Productions

They coulda just dropped a little bit shorter one, cuz there are 2 major things they spoiled. Other than that it was perfect.

Yam

Anyone knows if we getting drop today?

LB

Omg I missed it 😭😭😭😭

LB

One thing to point out is the way every member gave their all during the fight scenes. Nothing felt unnecessary, it was genuine teamwork at its best. Normally, the spotlight tends to stay on the strongest characters, but this time I loved seeing everyone step up and going Plus Ultra. I was especially impressed by Sero, Uraraka, Aoyama, and even Mineta 🤣

Belly

no mha today?

Yam

I been refreshing the web all day dang, seems like no MHA :/

Jack

No drop today, we were on crunch time this week and so we just did the movie for Wednesday/Saturday

Yam

MHA is getting second-class-citizen treatment, its over TuT (its a joke, looking forward for monday release)

Jude

loving the profile pic Jack!

Violet833

That's another thing I love about the movie and why it's my favorite out of the bunch. The whole class going plus ultra to save the island was soooo good to see.

Mdmarki

I don't know how they gonna reach season 8 in October 4th, there is less than month and a half for half of the season 5, season 6, season 7 and 2 movies

alex anderson

They will be fine they can figure it out

JevCor

Season 6 and 7 are extremely bingeable I'm sure there will be some beefy drops for them.

Storm Alex

im ready for some big drops

Tivy

Omg who else saw the season 8 trailer that just came out?? I’m so hyped

Tivy

SO PEAK

IQLou

50:41 omggggg this dudes quirks are insane!! 1:10:21 YOOO X CATAPULT MISSILE 11:11:44 Temporarily unleashed Dark Shadow 🍿 1:23:40 I love this scene so much from both our guys!! Just finished the movie. I agree, they didn't have to make this villain so ridiculous that Deku had to give up his quirk temporarily. I felt like it left a weird plot-convenient taste to what was already a really great movie. The animation was worth it though lol! Bakugo's explosions with the OFA buff was unreal. I was in awe consistently but kept thinking how do they explain this and bring it back to the main storyline. Now I know why a certain detail happens later on in the show that confirms this event as canon. Either way, I'm glad I finally decided to watch this. It was really fun. Enji is visibly really proud that his son finished off that super tough villain at the end there of course 😂. That scene was great too, the way Shoto can just finish people off like that at their peaks with his ice is scary. I'm glad everyone for the most part got to show out, even Koda 🤣

Ayo

as an anime only i literally have no clue what spoilers you’re talking about.. i think you’re just recognising them because you know what’s coming

Mdmarki

There is a clear one but I won't say anything if u haven't catch up on it hahahah

M1GZ

A few triple drops and we’ll be on s7 before you know it they upload 3x a week I think it’ll be fine and Carter said dw theyll catch up so even if there only started s7 when s8 is close they’ll binge it, I mean how could u not with all that peak lol.

M1GZ

For those confused Toho telling Horikoshi that he needs to tell his audience they’re million dollar very profitable movies are canon does not mean movies = canon, come on boys we can’t be that guilible. You wanna know what a real canon movie is like go watch the new Demon Slayer movie and compare. Now THATS CANON.

M1GZ

Also before anyone else comments this (BUT HORIKOSHI WINKED AT THERE EXISTANCE IN THIS ONE MANGA PANEL) a tiny panel with the back of some side characters head is not enough to convince anyone BAKUGO GETTING ONE FOR ALL is canon 😂😂 (and who even knows if that was even his idea or if they told him too since the fourth movie came out around when that dropped) also important to note Horikoshi openly stated he didn’t want more movies past the second before “he changed his mind” 😂

Mdmarki

There is a difference between canon and semi-canon and these movies are semi canon

Mdmarki

Yeah season 6 and 7 are very binggeable, I hope they do it

cozo

they dont even need any triple drops actually as long as they just don't skip any more drops

Mdmarki

Actually yes, they need it, count again and they need another month to complete season 7 and the 2 movie drops

M1GZ

Exactly completely agree^^ I use the term soft canon but yah you can choose to believe it happened but it's far from definitively actually having happened.

Hate all you want mate; doesn't stop them from being canon. Considering how characters & items are referenced, or shown; and ESPECIALLY something from this movie existing later during a very pivotal moment in season 7 that couldn't possibly happen without what happens in this movie? You just salty.

Aside from the canon discussions, what I dont like is how the movie breaks existing established universe rules. Especially with One for All and the transfer. I explained it to my girlfriend at the time it came out: imagine in Harry Potter if Harry transferred his magic power to Dudley who was able to use it perfectly to fight off the dementors in that one scene. We already know that's now how magic works, we know that using it takes practice, we know that Dudley would need a wand even if that was true...you could go on and on about how the universe just does NOT work that way. Same thing here. OfA does not transfer instantaneously, Bakugo wouldnt know how to use it, every dodge they made would have broken their bodies... The action, animation, and rule of cool factor are AMAZING. But the villain is 1 dimensional, his connection to the League makes no sense, the plot is mid at best, and these villains scaled to All Might levels out of nowhere. One of the best things about MHA is the lore, how well it's told, and how intricately everything is woven together with references. None of that was in this movie

Thank goodness someone else gets it. It’s very obvious at some points where it seems like this movie in particular comes into play. You don’t gotta like it but that’s how it is.

Think about how Bakugo is stronger than deku. In a similar fashion to how all might could instantly use one for all with no additional training needed. They didnt animate it but there was a chapter in the Manga describing the villains role and why they are working with the league. It was a test for when Shigaraki was going to inherit all for one to figure out how to properly transfer All for one Nine offered himself to be part of the test as his quirk was already destroying his body. So if you think about it it makes perfect sense its just poor execution as they couldnt really dedicate an episode to nine. If you want to

Zemillion

The Movie characters reappearing in season 8 is what makes it Canon. Remember this movie released after season 5 was over. In the Manga they were already where season 7 was.

Zemillion

This movie had an entire chapter in the Manga dedicated to Nine. Its canonical.

Couldn't agree more, amazing music cinematography and fights but that's all this movie had with garbage writing and the one for all sharing made zero sense. The villain also was a random one for all copy with infinite power out of nowhere. This is why I don't like non canon anime movies.
