Not my fav episode of the season but it does get better from here. Hoppers dialogue was pretty depressing. The next couple combined with this one help the flow a lot better imo. I think this show was just meant to be binged. Doing it one episode at a time kills the vibe a bit.

This is just me liking to be a devils advocate but I just realized Yuri is kind of a hero in the right light. Imagine if the country POV was switched. An American smuggler in the cold war era discovers Russians trying to sneak into america to break out a Russian prisoner. And the smuggler interferes and brings them in. That's an American hero. Food for thought. (obviously Yuri isn't doing it altruistically) Just an interesting thing about POVs.

I studied film too and I see it but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a real relationship. It’s a trope and he’s pining after his straight best friend. It will amount to nothing in the end because Mike loves EL and he hasn’t shown any signs of being gay only that he knows Will is. With the time period as well I think as far as they’ll go with their relationship is where they are currently. Will is going to need to get outside of his crush on Mike and really find his power.
