Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know I had been putting off watching One Piece for years, and even when I started barely got past the first 20-30 episodes. Finally when you guys decided to react I said f it and watched along with you guys for the first time. I have now passed you guys a few weeks ago and what’s ahead is nothing but peak. Can’t wait for you guys to catch up, all the best !

Zipzzty

😭😭

Dasha

she’s working at the right place though

Nanami's Wife

I actually like the Vice Warden, I find him funny for wanting the Warden's spot😂😂When the prisoner told Magellan "Take a shit like you always do" IS SO FUNNY 😂😂

Thony McCaffrey

This is Toei's interpretation of the manga stop blaming Oda for the fan service smh.

kosoihas

QUEERS NEVER DIE!!!

Nanami's Wife

I gotta say Mr.3 mugshot is so hard

kosoihas

they did my queen dirty with that one frame😭

Dasha

for the first time in history Cannon is excited to see Usopp😭 good guess tho I also thought it’s going to be Luffy

Ffion

Love that for you

kosoihas

Fans asked Oda what oh come my way meant and this was his reply: Q: Where is Oh Come My Way? Is it near my house? Oda: Hmm... Oh Come My Way? Well, this is a difficult Question, But it's a place where people who have 'come out" Go to walk. And I think it exists anywhere. O Yeow!! it also sounds like Okama way which is basically “the queer way”

Secretly

Superrrrr, maybe ?

Nick K

"Oh Come My Way" is a play on words. He is saying Okama Way, which basically means Queer Way or Queer Lifestyle Also I feel like the gang forgot that Mr. 2 fought head to head with Sanji and it was pretty rough for Sanji

kosoihas

this is where Buggy's insane cinderella run starts and he is my GOAT(●'◡'●)

GBuckets

Not gonna happen, they have a set date, they won’t change it so don’t even bother

Gorira Kujira

We're so close, the peak levels just keep rising, building up

Maj

Kawhi game winner vs Philly or Cannon's Usopp call - can't seem to decide which one is more clutch 🤔🤔

Sasha Ruple

Bon-chan is an honorary Straw Hat fr

Jonesy

carter looked like he was stifling a sneeze for like a full minute. im surprised you can still be surprised by this show by now

Gabe P

Heard you say Doofenshmirtz so I just had to say this fun fact. He doesn’t appear till much later in the show, but Doofenshmirtz’s Japanese VA has a role in One Piece!

beannie

sadie chan is top 5 most diabolical fanservice bits in op istg😭

Cade

LFG

greyxwaren

to answer cannon's question, Oh come my way is a play on the sentence "okama way' which means "the queer way" he just made a song out of it lol

John D. Acebes

Bulgori are level 1 prisoner deterrent. Anyone further down would be able to take them down just fine. Shouldn't have been much of a surprise. "What was Oda cooking" with Sadi? A prison where you torture people and a BDSM dominatrix. Not that hard of a reach, in my opinion. Did the animation studio and voice actor have to do all that tho? Could be arguable. Bon Clay leveled up? He went toe to toe with Sanji. Power scaling from battle history explains enough. The guy is a captain

Cannon Andrus

It’s almost like we haven’t read the manga and are assuming this is what’s in it?!

Cade

BANG CANNON WTF! that usopp call was insane!

Delray Velo

Guessing the midcards is hilarious

beannie

eyecatcher wins counter🔥 Carter - 6 Cannon - 4 Jack - 3 Mckay - 2 CANNON WITH THE WINNING STREAK🔥 coming for carter fr. and mckay finally locking in🙏

Seda

i’m pretty sure most of sadie’s scenes were manga accurate, and her design definitely is. toei might add some sus shots of the female characters but don’t act like oda’s not a freak as well, he adds plenty of fan service in the manga

Tyrell D. Rose

Omg, Sadie-chan is here? Oh, I've been ready 😂

Bethe

the first few levels just feel like Luffy's out here doing a prison break with his dumbass uncles 😩😩 IMPEL DOWN IS SO PEAKKKKK

Benjamin Knock

The only person luffy has been more happy to see is ussop at the end of post enies lobby w7

wanira 11

I can't with Carter's face during Sadie's introduction 😭😂

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Am I crazy or does Jimbei sound sooo weird? Did they change his VA

Dasha

yes, sadly his first VA passed away

Lorenzo

Snipe from downtown Ussop call from cannon was CRAZY

Benjamin Knock

The only thing that comes close to Sadie's level of fan service are the few Mami showering scenes

SavDog23

The Luffy/Buggy/Mr3/BonClay ultimate team-up is unrivaled. Pure comedy.

wanira 11

Ngl I laughed out loud at that 😂

wanira 11

What ep are you currently at? :)

Justin ⟢

I just reached Episode 1000 yesterday and the whole arc I’ve been on so far has been on an absolute heater. Can’t wait for you guys to reach it someday as it’s become one of the best for me. The animation quality is top tier too, a complete 180 when you compare it to the fights of the earlier arcs like here in Impel Down.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

“Frieren was so magical today” Frieren is chicken soup for the soul, therapy on a platter

beannie

there’s the sunny filler incident, R*****a in DR, that b***** scene in 🥚👨‍🦲

wanira 11

Buggy: "Do you remember Buggy Ball? :D" Luffy: "No." Buggy: D:

Nanami's Wife

I love how everyone in the comments undoubtably agrees that Jack is Koby😭😭 Wonder how he feels about Koby as a character. I’ve seen someone said “🐓🤞🛡️🤞” and I thought that was a good one too😭

Jonas Teigen

I mean Oda is very very sussy not just toei

beannie

this was the most epic win🙏

Mitch

Yep and I feel like the prison buff is always a trope in anime so it makes sense that he got even stronger too

Mitch

DR is actually despicable for the amount of fanservice shown. Toei honestly needs to be investigated for how egregious they did the female characters that arc

Luffers

The new mics sound even better in this reaction!

Poragami

Why are we not getting any movies?

Mal

You haven't even gotten to the peak of the animation in that arc yet! Enjoy!

SavDog23

Timeskip (whenever they reach it) is the perfect spot to watch any movies that take place during Pre-TS.

beannie

love bon clay!!! and a detail i find very endearing is how luffy calls him bon-chan, luffy rarely uses honorifics to address people, so him calling his name with affection like this is so cute

Luli Deferrari

THIS IS FOR CANON BOA IS 30 AND LUFFY 17 so there is kind of a age gap XD

Marcus D

The fact that there’s a Japanese dub for Finneas & Feeb is a surprise to me in itself.😂

Sadie is for the streets

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Carter is definitely Iceberg. I can't see Cannon as Ace at all because he is Steve already

Movie 4, 6 then Strong World. Afterwards Episode 0. You should watch Episode 0 now becuz they reveal info about something in that episode in this arc

Zipzzty

FR INSANE

MegMegMegg

Oh Come My Way is either a mistranslation of Okama Way or a purposeful censorship. In the last episode, it was translated as Queer. Okama in Japanese is a slang term for a gay man, but particularly one who is camp or flamboyant; it can also refer to crossdressers (or drag queens). Since it is still sometimes used as a pejorative in Japan, its use can be equated to the American 'F' slur or sissy for a lighter translation. There has been some reclamation of the word, just like the 'F' slur, but the use of it is still hotly debated. As far as censorship, since the term has been considered contemptuous, the use of it was censored early on, like how they changed the writing on the back of his jacket in the Alabasta arc so it didn't say Okama. American translations are censored due to our own issues regarding homosexuality in television. Japan eased up on the censorship during the Impel Down arc even though most English translations didn't (Funimation uses "queer" as you saw in the previous episode's subtitles, so they are excluded from that), probably because in the One Piece universe it is used in a self-identifying way by Bon Clay and a couple other reasons that would possibly spoil, so I'll wait until a later episode to mention.

Lana

sadie is so real

deep365

Okama means cross dresser in japanese and Bon Clay follows the “Okama way”. And that sounds like “Oh come my way”

Marcus D

Episode 0 before strong world, that’s the order it was released in the manga and the episode was released the same day as the movie, it’s meant to be a prelude to the movie.

Marcus D

Damn that must mean Cannon didn’t like it then.

Gabe P

Yōhei Tadano

Marcus D

The prisoners talking shit to Magellan the way they did is one of my favourite comedy moments in one piece.

Pun not inteded

Matthew

We’ve gotta get more one piece in … right? Like 4 eps a week is insaneeeeeeeee

i think its a play on Go-Mu (5) and (6) in japanese

Long Post. Seeing the Bon Clay flashback in Alabasta, reminded me of how great that arc was. It deserved more of a praise during the arc rankings. Looking back on it, the only not great things about it were some of the more slower and repetitive parts of it, particularly during the fights. Other than that the overall story of the arc was really great. We arrive in a country where Vivi is the princess, caught in the midst of a civil war brought about by drought and famine. A civil war that all was orchestrated by one man, Crocodile, who is also the leader of an underground criminal organization known as Baroque Works. Crocodile manipulated the citizens, convincing them that the king was responsible for the drought and was even forcing it upon them, by hoarding and using dance powder all for himself. This powder causes all rain to fall in one location, depriving other locations of rain, thus causing drought. Crocodile spreads all this propaganda and makes himself look like a hero at the same time. So when the king gets overthrown, he is in a good position to make himself king. All while having another secret goal of finding a poneglyph that will tell him the location of an ancient weapon, Pluton. You also have Koza and rebellion side of things and how they fell prey to Crocodile's schemes, and were pawns used by him to further exploit and create dissent. We also get amazing character moments and likewise throughout the arc as well. Here are some of my favorites. Luffy punching Vivi, telling her she is too naive and shouldn't put all the burden on herself, but to trust them and fight together to save this country on her behalf. Zoro cutting through steel for the first time. Seeing his internal struggle throughout the fight of not being strong enough to defeat Daz and become the greatest swordsman. Giving us an awesome moment where he is able to breakthrough and a sick shot of him sheathing his sword with Daz cut down between his legs. Crocodile being trolled by Sanji. Which was built up since Little Garden. Crocodile not knowing there is another Straw Hat, gets lured out of the base where Luffy and crew plus Smoker are imprisoned, by Sanji pretending to Mr. Prince. When Crocodile returns after realizing he's been tricked, he sees the cage empty and Mr. 3 beaten body floating on the water with a sign that says "Catch you later, you damn gator" signed Mr. Prince. Smoker letting Luffy escape. Even though Smoker is an enemy, Luffy asks Zoro to save him. With this act of compassion, Smoker gives Luffy his respect and lets him go, and I guess he kind of knew after that that Luffy is actually a good dude and theres something special about him since he's not like any of the other pirates Usopp during his fight, "There's a time, when a man will not run from a fight. That time is when his friends dreams are laughed at! Luffy will not die, I KNOW that he'll become the king of the pirates. I KNOW HE WILL! AND I WON'T LET YOU LAUGH AT THAT!! Also his Crocodile impersonation is sooo hilariously good. Ace's introduction and his connection with Whitebeard and Blackbeard's crime. Poneglyph reveal Robin saving Luffy in Crocodile vs Luffy 1, and then later saving him again with the antidote for Crocodile's poison. With no reason to live anymore, Robin has accepted her death. However, Luffy refuses to listen to her and saves her. Who, later on joins the crew. Vivi screaming "Please stop fighting" on top of the clock tower over and over. Finally, rain appears after so long and the fighting becomes quiet and everyone stands still, until Vivi is the only voice remaining, still screaming "Please stop fighting". Making them all lay down their weapons and ends the war. Vivi asking them if she will still be one of them after deciding to stay, and the straw hats just raise their fists with an x marked on their wrist symbolizing their friendship and how much they've been through together. Reassuring her that she will always be one of crew. Fighting Dugongs There is still a lot more I could've added but I think these are more than enough. Every arc in One Piece has its "slow/boring" moments or parts where you just wanna skip it. But if you look at it from a wider scope, you will see how characters and themes in each arc become connected and you see the consistency and layering of these themes and ideas throughout the whole story. Each arc represents a different issue, but it all fits together in the more overarching sense.

beannie

so based, I adore them

kuza

this has been an ask forever... i wish

Alex

Considering they recently dropped a bunch of shows (with one show even being only 3 episodes away from it's finale)... I can't really see them adding extra episodes to their schedule for anything right now XD

Dreamknight942

I know like please boys we need more. The wait from Thursday to Tuesday is killer. Though I love frieren so at least I have that to tide me over

Poragami

Movie 6 is the only one i want them to watch, but also the newer ones, that take place after the timeskip, so i understand that, but Movie 6 could easily be watchable right now.

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

w carter for the switch on bon-chans voice. i LOVE his voice, even if its the same dude as Franky, its just different, the mannerisms, how he bends words, the -aaaowws at the end hahahaha

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

i just knew mckay would be grinning at Sadie-chans reveal while the rest would be like 🤨

Nanami's Wife

I noticed that too, I thought I was tripping

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

They did that in Alabasta too, and then did it correctly for a bit, and now theyre back to the bullshit -_-

Nanami's Wife

W take!! I wholeheartedly agree, I freaking loved Alabasta and it’s a S tier arc 🩵

Marcus D

They said that Magellan’s devil fruit is the Poisin-Poisin fruit right when in the last batch of episodes right when they introduced him, lock in guys.

Secretly

Around 600 😅

Gilster

Buddy the heater is just beginning

Kaiju Kes

Y'all need to watch a romance for Cannon. Maybe Tomochan is a Girl?

xSaorix

lol I hate the “queer” translation so weird. Okama is just okama, stop censoring it.

MegMegMegg

Agreed, I wish they would just use the word. Though queer is at least more accurate, and how a lot of people self-identify in the community

SSana

They'd probably enjoy your lie in april, since it also has the added bonus of great music

sil 🧸ྀི

the koala at the gate was hilarious lmao

We need more One Piece ☠️

Nanami's Wife

Guys I just watched the chainsaw movie and all I can say is wow, speechless. Even tho I read the manga, I wasn’t ready for how beautifully done it was gonna be

Nanami's Wife

I love both those shows💗 I also vote for apothecary diaries. It’s my number 1🤭

wanira 11

@Nanami's Wife you know what's up, 100% agree :D

Marcus D

McKay really seemed like he didn’t, but ok haha

Grae

Ikr I can't wait for them to watch it when it comes out on digital

Nanami's Wife

ME TOO😁 I hope we get to watch their reaction to it and demon slayer by the end of this year. Watching the movie made me want to revisit the manga for chainsaw bc I stopped at like chapter 96 or something😭

xSaorix

berserk is great. I like devils line. I'd prefer for them not to watch a typical shoujo anime

Can’t touch this Gold

I remember them not being too hot on csm but the movie was really good. It's really good after that arc

xSaorix

Wait what? Whats going on the original comment was removed

Dasha

went to the movie 3 times already and it’s the first time I watched something in a movie theatre more than once 💀 also included csm to my top 3 shows and my top wasn’t changed for years lol

Dasha

oh I also read the whole manga in like 3 days and listened to soundtracks a billion times already

Marcus D

Tomo-Chan is really good and fresh/different. Very funny but still very romantic. The whole series is only 13 episodes and completed.

Pudding

I watched it a few weeks ago and was baffled

Pudding

Carter and Mckay have the funniest reactions to sussy moments/characters haha

Kaiju Kes

I think they'd like the sports parts of Tomo-chan too.

Pudding

Ace must feel so horrible... that shot at the end was very well-drawn, it reflected the feelings in his eyes perfectly.

Nanami's Wife

@Dasha I'm taking this as my sign to catch up on csm😭 I hope we get season 2 for the anime soon tho

Jalen

Does anybody know where Jack might be at currently in one piece if he’s still watching by himself ? Just curious about what knowledge he has.

Wyvern

He watched 1013 about a month ago in a discord watch party so probably around there

Jalen

Oh okay nice ! Thank you

kuza

1015 u mean?

krys11

i really liked Horimiya

Lace King

Yall should do a powerscale tier list every arc or something

Pudding

For those who are waiting for today's episode: "Jack and Cannon are going out of town the next week and a half, so there will be some changes to our posting schedule. One Piece will NOT be posted today but both posts will be later this week, probably tomorrow and Thursday." - from their recent announcement
