The whole time Shigaraki was itching and didn't know what he was allergic to, it was because AFO gave him the destruction quirk. His body was never built for it so it was incompatible. Tbh i'm kinda disappointed because it seems like its going to be everyone vs AFO instead of just Deku himself. Dont get me wrong, this was a great episode esp the plot twist (which i got spoilt so i wasnt surprised), and i understand he just lost OFA but i still hoped that he would be able to handle AFO by himself like Bakugo, since he is the MC (and my fav character 😭). but i guess this is good for the story...

The decay quirk was a modified version of Chisaki's (Overhaul's) quirk. AFO and the doctor took a sample of it (didn't fully steal it) while Chisaki was in the orphanage before he was adopted by the head of the yakuza. They modified it so it only had the destroy half of the quirk and not the reconstruct half and then gave that to Shigaraki.

They don't reveal what Tenko's original quirk was in the story, but Horikoshi did reveal what it was in the My Hero Academia Ultra Archive art book. I won't say it here incase anyone considers it a spoiler (even though it's not revealed in the original story), but the information is online if you want to take a look :)

All for one isnt being impatient he literally has to do this now, deku gave shiggy afo which destroyed it that why he said yoichi is gone. Afo basically is just moving on. And deku destroying tenko hatred brought afo out by force and he just decided to run with it.

It looked like the orphan that all for one was talking about was overhaul 🤯🤯🤯 full circle and it makes sense overhauls quirk is so similar to overhaul. PLUS it makes sense why shigirakis body was breaking down once he unlocked his quirks true potential fighting the meta liberation army, because like aoyama and deku, it isn’t their original quirk so their body isn’t accustomed to it

I continue liking the way the story develops, Aizawa what a GOAT the table needs his figure for sure. Deku sacrificing (knowingly or not) their arms to reach a hand to Shigaraki fits so well... never thought that weakening Shigaraki's hatred will of course allow AFO to resurge and take control... that fits as well. The he twisted Tenko's life was so meseed up bro, the guy is an absolute menace. Great ep and great reaction! Edit: Oh, and Eri... omg she is everything that is good in this world, I love they are showing her growth, learning things and wanting to help, specially Deku ofc.

Bones absolutely COOKED here. Can't wait for next week! Idk if y'all will see this, but I'd like you to consider watching the opening from now on. At this point, it should be 100% spoiler safe (they even removed bakugo from the opening until after he came back and beat AFO). I think that saving the reaction to the opening until later will actually hurt your MHA reaction now, and the reaction to the opening when you eventually watch it. Some anime openings are meant to be watched alongside the anime, like this one. It specifically builds up momentum and hype based off how you feel while watching, so waiting until whenever you do all the MHA openings would take away from the experience. It'd be great if you could take this into consideration <3

TLDR: AFO pulled an Orochimaru,except he managed to take over the new body and didnt got bodied like Sasuke did with Orochimaru. Deku willingly loosing both his arms after witnessing what decay can do and still be able to smile at Tenko to reassure him is insane,yet people will still find a stupid reason to hate him,lmao. Its aso cool how,this is changing the perception from society now that the remaining heroes are joining in,with Allmight it used to be about one Hero doing every thing for them and society relying on them,but now the message switchs to we all have to work together to be heroes. It is also very ironic how Deku by helping break shigarakis mind and get Tenko out of its mental prison,weakened Shigaraki's will and allowed for the snippets of AFO inside of him to ressurge and take over and another important detail,Deku never shed a single tear out of pain,he only teared up due to the emotions he went through,even after struggling to stand up due to not having his arms,id like to see anyone pull something like that off,cry baby my ass.

It's so tragic when you think about how Shigaraki’s whole fate was decided before he even had a chance to live. All For One literally took Tenko’s original quirk, planted Decay inside him, and steered every step of his life toward destruction. It wasn’t destiny or some innate evil, it was grooming. He never got a real shot at happiness or healing, his path was laid out for him before he even understood what was happening.

I like how Carter mentioned how differently things could of turned out if none of this stuff happened to Shigaraki. That's what I love about his and Deku's dynamic, that their stories start in almost the exact same place. When they were kids both of them were told they couldn’t be heroes. Both were powerless, scared, and wanted someone to believe in them. The difference is who found them. Deku found All Might, who told him he could rise above it and that he was worth something, that he could be a hero. Shigaraki found All For One, who told him the opposite, who fed/shaped his pain, and turned him toward evil. They’re basically two sides of the same coin. Deku was given a path toward hope, and Shigaraki was handed a path built entirely from his trauma. Their parallels are so well written because it’s not just hero vs villain, it’s what happens when two kids with the same potential are taught completely different things about who they can become.

Crazy that Shigaraki’s quirk was taken from a copy of Overhaul’s quirk. I’ve always thought the Overhaul quirk was very similar to Alchemy in FMAB. Understanding, deconstruction, and reconstruction. But Shigaraki is like Scar, he doesn’t have access to the reconstruction phase. He also shares white hair and red eyes, I wonder if that’s a coincidence?

Some thing you might have missed: 1. Shigaraki's quirk is copied from Overhaul's, just removing the regenerating part of the quirk. 2. Shigaraki's original quirk was the ring quirk AFO was using to fly around. 3. The unknown hero that offers to help was the MC of Horikoshi's first manga, named Tenko, which is also Shigaraki's name.

Cannon was too worried about when Aizawa would show up the entire time lol. Just in general it felt like you guys needed a little help understanding the entire situation going on with All for one. He couldn't even do this and take over Shigaraki until Deku reached out to him enough to weaken his willpower and have his emotions flow through him and change him. All for one couldn't take over his body until just now because Shigaraki had too much willpower and hatred. I hope the other comments explaining a lot helped any slight misunderstandings you guys had in this episode.

Oh and yeah All for one took Overhaul's quirk and made it only be the destructive side of his quirk since overhaul has a quirk with deconstructing and reconstructing. This is how Shigaraki got his "decay" quirk as it was shown on here giving it to him. All for one made Shigaraki from the moment he was born and set up his entire family dynamic making Shigaraki's entire backstory of hatred. If I remember correctly the quirk you have seen where All for one and Shigaraki have been bouncing off of and flying around from a yellow circle or yellow energy type of quirk since they have constantly been using it this season that was Shigaraki's original quirk.

Honestly, I think Shigaraki will probably be the one to actually finish off All for One. Midoriya and him go at it, then Shigaraki's consciousness will start packing All for One up from the inside. Would be fitting cause Shigaraki definitely deserves the ability to fuck up All for One.

I got that All for One manufactured Shigaraki's life form the first flashback that Shigaraki didn't has any quirks, and suddenly decays his whole family. When quirks manifest during childhood, they are usually very weak, Ery was the exception. And Shigaraki getting a too powerful quirk out of nowhere seemed very suss.

One thing I really love about MHA is the way it brings back characters in certain moments. Eri, Gentle Criminal, and Lady Nagant moments from last season. Characters whom Deku has extended his hand to, not because he ever wanted anything from them, but just because he genuinely wanted to help them and them all coming back at certain points to help Deku when he needed it. UGH ITS JUST TOO GOOD!!!!
