TheSauceGuy

Sometimes I forget Brig used to exist.

Jmann

McKay likes being edged, noted

Ayoodude

Just re watched the finale episode of avatar the last air bender and he was there ..just like old times 🤟

Ayoodude

Y’all cooked today

Seth Aasland

Land’s magic is my favorite. To be able to send perfect replicas to do everything for me… a dream

ace

i just noticed this because of the ending sequence, but the powerful grandfather that Ehre mentioned was actually Lernen. I've seen this show like 4 or 5 times now and just noticed

Jmann

I CANT WAIT FIVE WEEKS IM GONNA LOSE MY MARBLES BY THEN

Jmann

Wait fr????

charlie

AWKWARD LOSER! I haven't laughed that hard in a minute thank you Cannon

Seth Aasland

The sound of Lernen’s offensive magic shattering Frieren’s defensive magic 🤌

Cronshaw

The pacing will likely be similar in the second season. The parts of the manga they’ll be adapting is a mixture of one offs and multi-episode arcs just like this season was.

Brooke C

Watching s2 trailer will get you so hyped 😁

Jmann

The true big 3 AOT, VS, and Frieren 💯🔥

Garreth

I am with you Cannon, very well said. I think a lot of people like to watch the same stuff because it makes them reflect on their lives and the philosophies displayed.

Frizen

The Ubel slander is so funny to me, she literally hasn't done anything to anyone, she hasn't even lied or tried to deceive someone, she's just vibing 🤣

Vextipher

I would be embarrassing for a sad goodbye since we'll meet again in 4 weeks.

Booger

Guys you have to like Ubel because I like Ubel, come on

Omar

Get ready boys, season 2 will just be as good if not better. I personally love it even more in the manga, and based on the trailer the animation will have the same quality.

bokkun

the music is sooo damn good

Sorcerer

18 minutes of after discussion, love to see it 🙏

Omar

Reze gets a neutral , there i say positive?, reception from Cannon but my girl Ubel who has only killed bandits and a test proctor that thought was invincible gets an L 😭

Iris

So much love for this show, can't wait for you guys to get into season two. Read through the manga so I'm very excited to see it translated as well!

kuza

watching this along with yall but i havnt caught up to this final drop yet 😭 wonder whats next

Booger

It’s his opinion but the only thing I don’t understand is how he finds her edgy 😭 name any black haired male anime character and that’s what edgy is to me

Hansen

Never apologize, always double down (I miss Brigg)

Terry C

Does Frieren even need a 1st class mage title? She's Frieren, the mage from the party of heroes that saved the world. She's Flamme the founder of humanities magic's greatest student. Even Lernen the original and most powerful 1st class mage felt he was unworthy to judge her. It would be like asking one of the founders of Karate to go and get a blackbelt. Her being Frieren is beyond any 1st class mage title, remember the checkpoint opened up for her and the entire village threw a parade when they found out she was there.

Hector

Don't want to argue but Title doesn't mean anything to Frieren and in this world it's stated a lot that rules are strict in regards of power

Hector

Pleaseee watch the trailer that came out

Hector

Its her personality not much about actions

Hector

Cyberpunk mentioned in the outro and got war flashbacks (please re-wach for patreon)

GBuckets

I'm so glad Cannon loved Vinland. I really thought that would be an anime that they forgotten but for it to be in the top for Cannon is dope. Also nothing has broken in my top 5 animes for almost a decade until Freiren. I didn't think I would love any modern anime but Freiren is such a special show.

Peloy

Watch the trailer for the 2nd season!

Keloz

This is one of the most rewatchable shows i've seen cuz every episode just leaves you with a damn good feeling

DuLee

What happened to brigg?

Rudy Schwabe

Ive watched this show so many times, with different people and watched multiple reactions, Sub and then Dub, cause I like the voice actors in both they do such a good job. Its my show I put on when I need a good cry or wholesome moment

DuLee

Are we getting a one piece reaction today?

Amanda Reutermo

my brother was losing his mind when I said that I was watching frieren alongside you guys because he wanted me to binge it all in one sitting but I was like "nooo I'm gonna watch it three times per week with some dudes on patreon" lmao. honestly, I had high expectations but I was still blown away—definitely anime of the year for me, even though certain award shows didn't agree! can't wait to suffer through weekly releases with you guys in a month! (ദ്ദി˙ᗜ˙) ps. next season I'm gonna take a shot every time cannon says "himmel is him" pray for me y'all edit: mckay mentioning naruto, that's why he's the goat 🐐

GBuckets

Also what makes this show special is that unlike the majority of Shonens, It's a relatively chill show. Freiren was never pushed to the brink, there's no great evil that the main character had to defeat, it was just a walk in the park and small journeys for Freiren, yet the show is more meaningful than most.

Tyler

Weekly releases are always better imo, I love the hype building up and everyone debating theories during the week

TouPT

This will be my only request, I will ever suggest . Give Ping Pong the Animation a view!!

_monjiro

Yall should check out the S2 trailer. I only read like 5 or 6 chapters ahead in the manga and there was only one sequence (from the past btw) that wasnt in those chapters. Meaning at most you are getting a teaser for Episode 2 or 3 of Season 2. Overall im so excited to have been here for the ride. One of my favorite shows

hhh

Will you react to the teaser and the trailer alreayd released ?

rheed_

Probably my favorite discussion from you guys since the AOT days. I think you guys grasped a lot of things about the show that make it so great, especially things a casual viewer wouldn't be able to. Really glad that you guys enjoyed Frieren and were able to find it meaningful as well!

Skyz

Pretty sure he finished college with some type of Business degree and he was starting a new job that required him to be away from home/out of state.

Elio

Enma

Really enjoyed that outro and discussion about what type of anime Frieren is, main themes and what makes it meaningful. I think we are naturally drawn to these types of stories like this and Vinland Saga because they are very human. They are relatable, introspective, and easily internalized like Cannon said. There is another wholesome and meaningful anime like Frieren that you guys didn't mention, Mob Psycho. An exceptionally beautiful story in both narrative and animation. It tackles a lot of important and relatable themes and ideas. Like self acceptance, change and redemption, what it means to strong, the importance of relationships, kindness and empathy, and so on. In my opinion, I think Mob and Vinland Saga are more introspective than Frieren, since they deal more with the characters internal struggles and go through the journey of personal growth and self discovery. And in terms of that, Neon Genesis would take the cake. It's not wholesome and gentle as Frieren, but I think its very meaningful and relatable as it explores the human condition and psyche.

Dreamknight942

“It would be embarrassing when we meet again.” I need Frieren to see Himmel in Aureole so badly 😭😭

Mitch

I'm so torn man. I wanna watch season 2 but also wanna wait until all episodes are released so I can binge it lol

Pxssive

Goat of new gen is the most generic MC of all time? no hate but stop it bro, BC the most copy and paste Naruto 2.0 show i have seen. Literally nothing original about it and if we talking about goated new gen MC then we have actual well written and unique characters like Denji, Yuji, Eren, Frieren and not a Naruto wannabe

Great show! Love how much yall express how you feel and think to let us know what you took away from such a great story!

Mr. John Kagurabachi

When you rewatch episode 12, I promise you it’ll be one of ur favorite episodes. I take episode 12 and episode 14 over the hype fights in episodes 7-9 and 25-27

Ryz

did they watch OP 2 already?

yio

Cannon it's ok to dislike characters, you don't need to explain urself everytime 😭 fuck the anime fans that get mad over other people's personal preferences

Linus Gradin

These mf just called learn a Loser

Liptrouski

Yeah that's gotta be top 3 season 1's of any show

Yuion

See how easy lernen got through frierens defense magic? He definitely has good chances at beating her. Even Serie said as much

Chayma

I can’t wait for season 2 😔🩷

Juanca

Facts! All of them love Vinland, and its even Jacks favourite Anime

Juanca

What a good discussion at the end of the episode. Happy that you are enjoying, loving, and appreciating Frieren to its fullest.

cade-carter

i love every single aspect of the show. It is genuinely hard for me to find fault. So if the only thing you can say is that the cool fights arent even the best part then thats even better.

C2-H5-OH

About the discussion at the end specifically what Jack said about watching it personally vs with people and sharing it with people, I'd say most of us here in the patreon are probably people who are here to emulate exactly the feeling of watching it with people since there aren't people we can watch it with IRL. Sounds harsh to the subs here but at least that's the case for me.

rayman

ya his attacks were really the only thing we’ve seen pierce the defense magic, especially from Frieren. No idea how she or anyone would defend against him

C2-H5-OH

Yeah I agree. A show having a meaningful moment isn't the same as the show being meaningful in its entirety. Not gonna put any essay, but I think One Piece is definitely a meaningful show till the point you guys have watched, and it will only become more and more meaningful as you watch more and more.

rayman

wish he could just do the video calls like they’ve done in the past. he was one of my favorites of the group

This is Daniel

I agree that this show has deep messages that can relate to real life. Lat year, I went through a particularly difficult time and was under some heavy stress. I was watching Frieren at the time, and really paid attention to Eisen's words to Stark, about continuing to get up when knocked down. That message (among others) truly resonated and helped me overcome what felt like impossible odds at the time. It also taught me to manage my expectations regarding life accomplishments; and learning to stop and smell the roses from time to time - similar to Frieren collecting her spells, just because. I'm really glad I got to re-watch this through your collective perspective 😊

Robert L

Yes, Jack. Carrying luggage is a less exciting story than defeating a boss dragon wouldnt u say?

This is Daniel

I genuinely cried at the end of Mob Psycho season 3. Such an amazing show. I also binged Vinland Saga (season 1) in a single day when it was released several years ago. Truly deep storytelling.

Davide

What a beautiful analysis at the end there, very well said everybody. This show is so intimate and introspective, you witness the second journey of Frieren trying to process everything that she and her party went through during those 10 years, which was way too fast from her perspective, while she slowly understands how much it affected her and made her more "human". At the same time, you see how the heroes have touched the lives of so many people by not only saving the world, but also lending a hand to those in need in their everyday deeds, leaving a mark and a sweet memory which is just as impactful as saving the world by killing the demon king. And you see this, and you think about it, and it makes you feel like you, personally, can be like Himmel, he MAKES you want to be like Himmel and be a little better and make the world you live in a little better. I'm truly grateful I got to experience this masterpiece, you can really tell the great care that goes in every frame, every sound, every piece of music, every color is so well thought and not just thrown in for the sake of shock value and it all makes it a truly special experience edit: Almost forgot, please try pitching this show to the girls for a rewatch at some point! I bet they would love this show and I believe you also would enjoy it maybe even more the second time, I know I did and it somehow gets better

Tony

Loved rewatching this with you guys <3

misa

Omg I noticed something else that I can't point out because I would have to spoil part of the manga. 😭 It's small but kinda funny, depending on what time one of the flashbacks took place in. It's relating to the "🪦👈🧝‍♀️👀" arc

Floop

Lernen is indeed very impressive. But just cause he could win against Frieren does not mean that the odds are in his favor

Cezar Vanmeirhaeghe

You guys should absolutely react to the s2 trailer, it's a banger

Conk

Depends

misa

Cannon saying it's something you would want to rewatch immediately is so real. If I had to review Frieren in a few words it's "cozy and unexpectedly charming". I learned after that the direction and production of this was a deliberate attempt to make something appealing across demographics and time. They were aiming to make something classic. It's good because the people behind it were trying really hard to make something good. I feel like some other shows make something and simply just *hope* people find it good. The music, the direction, the story beats for a narrative that doesn't even have any stakes, psychological intrigues, cat and mouse games, or melodrama that typically keep me glued, they managed to make something amazing without all of the latter. For a show that constantly refers to the past, it's actually a show about radically living in the present. Frieren doesn't wallow in regret, she doesn't punish herself or waste more time on tears. She simply takes the lessons she took so long and hard to learn and immediately tries to apply it in the present moment with her new party. All in all it makes for something really feel good and refreshing! And for something that's supposed to be a magical fantasy, it focuses so much more on the beauty of mundane things we readily experience irl. Other animes appeal solely to escapism, and how real life can only get so interesting. Yet I've seen people say Frieren made them in the mood to want to bake more, cook soups, and go hiking to be around nature lmao. For another instance with Harry Potter it makes you wish magic were real, which is still a fun experience, but with Frieren it subverts that in a way as far as other magical worlds go. So many stories have been about showcasing the bad sides of humanity recently. While I still highly rate shows that show the grit of reality, how selfish and evil the ordinary person can be, this really was a well needed break from it.

Jenny D

Glad you guys enjoyed the show. I never watched the replacement anime you mentioned. Like previous anime I'll give it a shot and see if I like it. I hope you guys watch the trailer for Frieren S2. It looks like it is going to be a good season and I can't wait to watch it. It's a shame Frieren or Apothecary Diaries didn't make it as anime of the year

The only part that dragged for me was the 1st part of the Mage Exams because it was an abrupt steer away from the first part of the show. I get now that having that Mage Exam was a clever way to excuse the need to explain a lot about their world and expanding it. But with the lack of real stakes, and being introduced to new characters I haven't been given reason to care about yet, paired with the heavy dialogue dumps in explaining things in the first part of the exams, that was the only thing that fell flat for me. As for the 2nd part of the Mage Exam, it took another rewatch for me to really appreciate it. But of course the Boss Battle with mimic Frieren was an undeniable highlight. I understand in hindsight and with continuing with the manga, its importance with how they needed to progress later action and story arcs. It couldn't all be about the self contained episodes/slice of life feel good stuff in the beginning or else it could get stale fast.

relyct

I always found the Anime of the Year debate weird. I mean by who's standards? Crunchyroll and a bunch of Westerners who voted for it? Sure. But in Japan it literally became Anime of the Year in their award show that has been around almost thrice as long as Crunchyroll (which also started out as a pirating site btw). Just saying that you shouldn't take Crunchyroll as the gold standard, just because a bunch of people push it that way. This feels like comparing the MTV VMAs with the Grammy's.

Demerit

Aboslute cinema. Umamusume Cinderella Gray when?

Dub_quinn

Frieren is one of those shows that can mean even more on a second watch, and not many shows can do that. I'm glad y'all enjoyed it so much! Excited for S2!

relyct

I liked your discussion at the end, mentioning how deeper contained narratives aren't really common in Shounen. But don't forget Shounen (young boys) is the target demography. Just like Frieren's is Seinen (young adult men). Shounen has a wide variety that can explore deeper topics, like Apothecary Diaries. But Battle Shounen specifically, like with your examples (AoT, HxH, Naruto, One Piece, FMAB, Solo Leveling, JJK etc.) has more often the issue of either never tackling these subjects, or just superficially. There's definitely contrary examples, but with many of them, this is not only what these magazines like Shounen Jump want to push for, but also what tne authors try to convey. For example Oda said multiple times, that despite some heavy themes he wants to keep OP as light hearted as possible. The reaction of the viewers to that is mixed, especially since he's so great at worldbuilding, but I think it's great that light hearted media, can exist next to thought-provoking pieces. I also love media like Frieren, AoT and Apothecary Diaries that can almost come close to perfection at balancing this. If you ever come around it in the future, maybe watching Bakuman can help you get some behind the scenes, why especially many Battle Shounen (or WSJ mangas) follow a certain pattern in the way they tackle their stories.

misa

The ending song lyrics always get me. Yall need to see parts 1 and 2 of them. The 2nd one makes me depressed lowkey lmao. "So if I were to be reborn, I would surely choose this place again." is so 😭

Queen

For S2, as a Manga reader myself of this series. I can say all your wishes will come true. This series continues to get better and better. Currently the writer and artist are dealing with some personal health issues. If you'd like to send some fan-mail their way or some get well soon cards, I've reached out to their publisher: =============== 2-3-1 Hitotsubashi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 101-8001 Shogakukan, "Weekly Shonen Sunday Comics" Editorial Department To: Kanehito Yamada =============== Feel free to send them a loving message or support and well wishes. I plan to send them a Christmas care package. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- For me, Frieren is my favorite show for several reasons. First the messaging, it's all about cherishing the time you have with the people who want to be around you. Help others who are in need even if it isn't the most exciting thing. Changes peoples lives in a positive way even just a little, and Carry on the memories of those you love. I watched this show shortly after someone very close to me had died. He was a kind and loving person, who instilled confidence in me. Frieren allowed me to process and understand his death in a more meaningful way, it gave me the words and motivation to carry on his legacy instead of sulking in sadness. I think for anyone who has had grief, doubt, or loss of any kind in their life. Frieren will resonate with a lot. Additionally Frieren, and Fern while not explicitly said are definitely on the spectrum. Frieren for sure. That resonates with me as well, I've always struggled to see the good in myself, when I was a kid it didn't matter. But as you get older you put more and more walls up. Frieren has helped me to break those down, and I know that sounds corny. But for me personally. I felt like I could allow myself to be myself and the right people will stick around. I am obsessive. The fact that I've watched Frieren 52 times is evidence of that. But the messaging is something that keeps drawing me back. I think one of the biggest stories I love that comes from this and one that makes me tear up. In Taiwan there was a knife attack on a train or subway, and a single otaku nerd saved everyone. When asked why he put himself in danger to save others, or why he thought to do that. He simply replied "Because that is what Himmel The Hero would have done..." and to me that speaks volumes of the power of the narrative of this show. It inspires greatness, kindness, understanding, and powerful emotions in it's viewers. I feel like most of the people who don't understand this show, have yet to deal with powerful personal emotions or simply lack Empathy, understanding, or patience. Again those are just my personal feelings but I'm so glad you guys finished it.

Stephanos Stavrou

Season 1 is a masterpiece. I loved the rewatch with you guys.

Jeff

Such a great place to end...for now.🥹

Now you need a frieren figure on your table

Please react to S2 Teaser and Trailer! Enjoyed every second rewatching this with you guys. If S1 made my jaw dropped and gave me many goosebumps, then I'm trembling for S2 after reading manga. I've never felt this much love for an anime that it made me want to read the manga (I never tried to read manga before) because I don't want to miss every single detail. I can't wait for S2 and it's on my birth month! Best bday gift ever! I'll see you all next season. Thank you guys!

The writer

Robert L

Wow how very profound

Joseph Eckert

On rewatch there are some things about Methode that stand out more that make it make sense that she passed. Each rewatch actually I notice more and more that makes me theorize she might just be goated. At the end of test 1 they show her party walking away after stealing a bird from another party, and we saw in the second test that neither of her teammates from the first test were very good, which makes me think Methode 1 v 3'ed. Also Denken calls her out as being good at hypnosis and restraining magic, but then she says 'I wouldn't say good' meaning that it wasn't likely something she had mentioned but that Denken already knew. How good of a mage would she have to be to already be on Denken's radar as an imperial mage? We also see her do healing magic twice, and she is the one who tracks all the duplicates. I'm maybe reading into some things too much, but I won't be surprised if she comes back in a big way later.

.Koen

I watch a lot of shows on this patreon without a lot of knowledge about what it's about and I think this has been the one that has impressed and surprised me the most so far. I really love these types of stories where it's spread across a large range of time but you get little slices of life in different places across time that together build into a larger narrative. I loved watching both how fern and stark grow and at the same time how Frieren also learns things from them and the many other characters they encounter along the way. And the animation, music, character work is all top notch. With a nod to all my fellow stormlight archive fans, this show is very much 'journey before destination'.

Dakota

Yeah I watched the first couple of episodes when it came out, but didn't really get into it. The n the GEKS started reacting to it and I watched along, then I couldn't wait and binged the rest. I had obviously heard all the hype, and people saying it was so good, but I think I still underestimated it. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the end. Looking forward to season 2.

sz

I just love this show SOOOOOO much. I can't wait to watch season 2 with you guys!

Daniella

We knew you guys would love this show but thank you for appreciating it for what it is with the really good outro discussion. Shows like solo levelling etc are very digestable and easy-to-watch hence why they're so popular, but as you guys said in the outro ,Frieren excels in the niche little details and the teaching moments that aren't on the nose like you would see in the ending of shows like AOT (i.e when Eren talks about freedom with Armin) or even the season 1/2 finale of Vinland. From episode 1, Frieren embarks on a journey to find out more about humans because of her regrets about Himmel and every single episode has her applying Himmel's words to her everyday life now. It's all about the journey with Frieren, it really is one of a kind of anime - i can't wait for season 2!

Allsports Athletics

So the first person to ever injure Frieren appears and you say L.. lmao Lernen is the goat.

Sam

fire

Shahbaj Mohammad

Yeah, they can be dum like that. Also Wirbels story to freren went over the left dudes head

Shahbaj Mohammad

The dude who kinda hates Serei and Ubel thinks Larnen is a loser... Clearly one twin was dropped on his head. This is the type of clown that voted Solo leveling over Frieren.

sz

you must feel really cool writing this, but anyone can see that YOU are a loser.

Juanca

What does one thing have to do with the other? its not even that deep... I am also surprised that you pay the patreon membership to insult them.

Animeke

A personal opinion can be scrutinized. Disagreeing and giving your reasoning is not the same as saying Cannon HAS to like Übel.

Meel

Actively paying said dude money to watch him do things btw

mina

😭

mina

whenever they start a new show and finish it, i sometimes try to imagine what brig's reaction would be and if he would like it. am i the only one lol, is that weird?? hahahahah

mina

my wish has finally been fulfilled 🤗 knowing that it had such a meaningful impact on you and the fact that we were able to witness it all with you makes this rewatch even more special for me, so thank you!! always appreaciate you💗

Animeke

This is my 4th rewatch of Frieren so far and my love for the show and excitement for season 2 has only grown. For me, that alone shows just how compelling and deep Frieren is. You pick up on new things every rewatch and your connections to the world, story, and characters only grows stronger. And like Cannon said, you're constantly reminded of important lessons which makes you appreciate it even more. I think that's an important criterion for what makes a show truly great. I also never really thought about Frieren as giving off a sense of nostalgia, but Carter is right. That whole discussion afterwards was just awesome.

TheSauceGuy

I've done that with a select few shows.

mina

the main theme of this show is obviously not romance, but sometimes i can't stop thinking about frieren and himmel🥺 he truly loved her right until his very last breath and i'm sure frieren will continue to love him for an eternity too!! even tho he knew a real realtionship between them was impossible, he still made sure to leave traces of himself in every way he could, so that frieren would remember him for a long time, reflect on his words and grow as a person. he knew she'd be lonely and waste years without ever feeling truly fullfilled. because at the end of the day, it’s the bonds we form that truly make us feel alive and gives our existance a meaning. himmel understood that BETTER THAN ANYONE. he knew that frieren with her long lifespan and (introvert lifestyle lol), might wander alone for centuries without realizing how much she was missing out on. for that reason he left behind pieces of himself: memories, lessons and those "insignificant" little moments of kindness, hoping they would one day guide her toward a life filled with connection instead of solitude. and the fact that she carries his words with her, letting them shape who she's becoming.....🙃 it’s so painfully romantic to me, i don't even know how to explain it!!🥹🥹

mina

holy sorry for the yap session 💀

Pudding

Everytime Himmel and Frieren appear together in a scene, it moves my heart so incredibly much like very few other shows😭 I love all their beautiful scenes, and Himmel's VA is perfect. In the last episode, when Himmel said that it was the first time he found magic beautiful, it did something to my heart. Imagine if Frieren realized in time that she wanted to treasure the time with Himmel and her friends, and we'd get a romance-focused show with the two, I'd be obsesseeeeed.

Pudding

Apparently Himmel was an inspiration for the character I have in my pfp (Phainon), no wonder the two are some of my most beloved characters

KasaiKouhai

are people who pay for reactions suddenly not allowed to criticize the reactors? Such a terrible mentality

Pudding

That's an interesting question, McKay, when you say you wonder if elves' brains are the same as humans. I wonder what's different biology/psychology-wise. Like, if humans had the lifespan of elves, would they behave in the same way (kinda lacking in emotions, not interested in continuing their species,...) ? Is it just time that makes them like that, or something innate ? I feel like it's both

KasaiKouhai

How the hell does one reach the conclusion that Lernen is a loser after that.

Pudding

Why do I like this show so much?😭 When Fern and Stark were just drinking tea and eating cookies, I was thinking that I could keep watching those simple slice of life moments for hours and enjoy them a lot. There's something about this show that's addicting to me, even in very simple moments, with no action nor emotional scenes.

JustADad 🟣⚫️

Crunchyroll awards only have standing with western people and even then mainly Americans. In just about every other anime awards it won AOTY.

Loved the post-ep discussion and hyped af the journey of S2!! Ya'll are the goats

oh this was wonderful!!! i can't believe i hadn't watched it until now but im quite happy i didn't because i could watch it alongside you guys <3 i'm def the same like this is definitely comfort show now and i loved the vibes, the story and the characters SO MUCH im so excited for s2 now and im gonna be there every week aaaa frieren is my girl and i loved fern and stark so much too i even want to see some other characters again !!! likeeee they're so interesting

Avalon

Yayyy can't wait for season two! One of my favorite things is making my friends watch this anime <3 Also... I don't recall you guys ever watching the intro for the 2nd half? We want to see you guys watch the new intro!

Ninjinzo

ONWARDS TO SEASON 2 !

I’m Tired

Perfect show perfect show

LuvStarburst

Now you know why Frieren really cried her eyes out during Himmels funeral cause she wouldn't see him again and it wouldn't be embarrassing after she cried that much.

subahaji

are you guys gonna watch the S2 trailer? its insanely gorgeous and would love to see your reaction!

Daveeed

I like Cannon, but calling them losers is a L on itself

zoldaic

Frieren made me appreciate the moments in life

zoldaic

One show i can say meaningful like frieren is Bakuman. So many inspiring moments

s0ib555j3

Yeah, I've noticed some of the boys really have black vs. white thinking, like good vs. bad instead of really understanding the nuance and gray complexity of characters.

Juanca

Imagine thinking that insulting is the same as criticizing. What a narrow mindset

Evangelion is the most meaningful and resonant piece of media I’ve ever come across. I could go on and on about how much I love the show, but at the end of the day a story’s meaning is all about how you interpret it and what you connect with, Frieren might be the greatest piece of media for someone and vice-versa. The story you can resonate with the most usually becomes your favorite

Evelyn_Endwise

Strongly recommend picking up Dungeon Meshi next for a similarily high quality fantasy anime. It also has a second season on the way next year and will likely fully adapt the source material with one more season after that. Not sure if it has quite the same themes, but it's more like...what if Baldur's Gate 3 was an anime maybe. CRPGs like that were its inspiration.

Eighty-Six mentioned... So glad y'all enjoyed Frieren so much 🔥🔥🔥

Animeke

s0ib555j3, well said.

Animeke

I'm not sure what you are confused by. It's a pretty straightforward point. You're implying that comments like Frizen's (2 comments down) and Omar's (3 comments up) are trying to forcefully change the some of the guys' opinions on something to match there's, which isn't the case. Neither of them said Cannon's opinion is wrong and just because "it’s his opinion", that doesn't mean people can't voice their own in kind.

Booger

Bro my comment was a joke 💀 it was obvious to everyone but you

Animeke

You can claim that all you want, but your response to me and other people says otherwise.

Booger

Get off my phone bozo it’s never that serious, find someone else to bother

Animeke

I wasn’t bothering you. You made a statement, I replied to it. If you didn’t want a discussion, you could’ve just said so.

Booger

This comment should’ve never been a discussion lil bro and you started it by replying to an obviously sarcastic comment

Daniel Rodriguez

Because he tried to kill frieren for a stupid reason. He can be strong but still a loser

Ryan D

Land is insane. I hope we get more of him. Never even set foot in the testing grounds😭

bebe

omg i love that one

bebe

anime can still be peak without all those fightings 24/7

They literally talk almost every episode about how ridiculous it is this show lost to solo leveling. Your logic makes zero sense lol he also specifically doesnt like 3 characters that are powerful and always looking for a fight with degrees of edginess for some and apathy for others (grey morality) obviously these 3 characters are better written than about any character in solo leveling, but these 3 characters also fit into the solo leveling verse, especially Ubel and Serei. The thing youre trying to connect actually means the complete opposite conclusion, but that wouldn't count as a cheap insult so you had to pretend it means something else. If he only liked the aura farming characters constantly looking for a fight, then what you said would make sense. But you used the characters that specifically are degrees of that lol really you're just upset he doesnt like your favorites as much as you do, so you tried to make it deeper than it is. Kind of shitty logic and behavior by that point.

This show is so freaking good. The animation, the characters, the dialogue. I was surprised yall didn't watch back when it was at the height of it's hype.

n Ferrante

Naruto is way better

suzy

My favorite show of all time❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

suzy

I have never seen any one else theorize this but I'm convinced Himmel was isekai'd from our world. He played the role of an archetypal hero from our world's mythology, stories & video games. The things he spoke about and the way he approached life. Even to things like exploring the whole floor of a dungeon before moving on.

Peak show, peak reaction commentary! Loved Canon's line about not saying goodbye to S1 or else it'd be embarrassing when S2 comes out haha!

Ninaly

Cannon was throwing out some amazing lines in this discussion, the one about the meteor/shooting star wtff. My favourite reaction series from you guys has been Frieren and Mob Psycho, I think these types of shows allow the couch to show how media savvy they actually are Like not only are you always entertaining and emotionally engaged, but you guys actually have interesting takes and valuable insight, perspectives I'm interested in enough to pay patreon for. I've only found that golden combo with the Geks and LM girls. Have a great holiday and can't wait to do Season 2 in the new year!

Kasumii_

Cannon's switch up on Lernen was generational, from glazing him to calling him a loser within just a few minutes Now that Frieren's over I wonder what I should change my pfp too... maybe the Apothecary Diaries MC in hopes they watch that, Apothecary Diaries was a very close 2nd behind Frieren for my AOTY, I'd be so excited if they started it, I also think it'd be the ultimate test to see if the boys can watch an anime with no fight scenes

SeCo D. Raw

i think one of the last frames we saw at the end was the grave of Denkens wife, and it looks like there was a field of flowers conjured around it because the background looks like barren land not sure but I would love to think that its true so it's canon in my head now

Chrissy

Sorry, but I cried again lmfaooooo. I would have a million embarrassing goodbyes

Chrissy

I really loved seeing y’all enjoy this show so much. Especially cannon! So excited for season 2!

cold333

cant wait for season 2

Balzhan

This was a great show! I would like to see your reaction to "The apothecary diary". I feel like it would be fun to try out a different genre. Especially after Frieren:) And after all the depressing k dramas and action anime, a fun romance would be cool!

Kurapika

Thought that was Flammes grave, I might be wrong.

Kurapika

The themes, lessons, story writing, characters (all characters introduced), character development, emotions feelings, music, voice actors, man. Every single thing Frieren did for me was just insane and amazing and inspiring, I honestly really love this anime so much and it has even cleared into my Top 3 of all time even though I have watched so much anime. I think I can just appreciate it so much and apply so much lessons in my normal life. It has brought many emotions out of me and I have watched this show over 8 times already. Most shows just don't do what Frieren has done for me, every single episode I have loved it. "Enjoy the detours" is what Wirbel said. I think that really highlights everything Frieren and both parties have done throughout her whole life. Their main goals were to "Defeat the Demon King" "Make it to Ende" but every single detour they have taken has led to such amazing things and meeting new amazing characters. My AOTY easily and My No.2 Anime of all time. Thank you for this reaction.

kuza

done watching for the first time through yall

Y'all should watch Ranking of Kings some day
