Honestly Marineford doesnt really need a One Piece week but itd be nice to have certain batches be triple uploads cus they fit better. Its a relatively short arc so i wouldnt mind it being paced out regularly tbh.

I've watched this scene for like a hundred times and it still makes me cry🥺. Bon Clay is such an incredible example of great character development. Who EVER would've thought when we first met Bon Clay in Alabasta that he'd become universally seen as one of the greatest characters in the One Piece community. He’s now one of our all-time favorite characters/heroes. Absolutely amazing stuff, and what a beautiful sacrifice. Impel Down is automatically one of the best arcs due to our goat Bon Clay🩷

It's as if bro was never truly able to forgive himself for running away from Magellan the first time. It's so funny seeing the random bit of crazy animation from Shida. My brother and I call out his work like he's pandaman. Cover stories are really a toss up for me, some are more interesting than others. But I guess it wouldn't be bad to do them since it'd be somewhat of a wrap up for Impel Down and is in line with where Oda put the cover chapters.

Yes there will always be pacing problems but One Pace seriously ruins some very good parts in Marineford. Those are worth the pacing stretches. Any other arc I can understand but dont do it for Marineford and post-Marineford.

A separate video covering the cover stories from the manga would be awesome. Outside of one piece dedicated channels, I haven't personally seen any reaction channels react to it, so it might catch a few eyes on youtube. Short and fun stories that provide some additional background info with some character introductions and yes these stories are all canon. I recommend checking it out after you finish this stretch of the series. They’re super involved in the one piece universe and it’s honestly really pleasant to watch

Bon Clay played the imposter in Alabasta, came to get Luffy is the frozen hell and almost died from the wolves, got Luffy to Ivan, exhausted himself to failure screaming "Hang in there!", and finally sacrificed himself to allow the escapees to leave Impel Down. I'm completely caught up to the latest in both the anime and the manga, and can still very confidently say that no one in One Piece (other than Luffy) places as much importance on the meaning of a friendship as Bon Clay does. Went out like a G.O.A.T.

Geks, on the one pace website between Impel Down and Marineford, there are the adventures of the Straw Hats and it’s literally just one episode. If you watch that instead of watching several episodes in the OG anime, you could start Marineford earlier if you one pace the straw hats adventures and that single episode is just 23 minutes.

Yeah I don't know how the one pace is for Marinford, but the one piece pacing definitely shows in marinford arc and ruins some of the tension, and some scenes are VERY annoying because of the pacing imo. If I were recommending to a friend, I would recommend one pace from now and until like ep 1060 lol, no joke.

2026-10-07 09:00 i have to take a sec to talk about bon clay because his character means so much to me. hes unishamidly himself he lives life freely and without any care of judgement and when i first watched this i was young and questioning myself and bon clay taught me to just accept myself and life with full passion. oda may get some flak for how he draws the okama and the jokes but bon clay is the best written gay character in anime and ill stand on 10 toes when i say that. no big anime have a gay character that is so much more then his sexuality he loves his friends he fights for what he believes in he will take on any odds and do anything to those he calls his nakama. he is my goat

The pacing isnt worse than impel down and its got far more important moments that shoulnt be getting chopped up because there was a 4 second cut to buggy again throwing the entire cinematography that toei created. Sure they didnt do a perfect job but one pace over corrects and ruins it, espcially for first time watchers. If it isnt peak bevause of pacing it isnt peak

I wouldn't say worse, but it is just as bad. Yeah but those important moments would be better if the pacing didn't feel like the world moved in slow motion. It ruins the tension when Luffy has to run for 4 minutes and not get anywhere while people are just standing there. I mean it is their choice ofc, but I would never recommend anyone watching with the normal pacing.

Yeah I watched it last year, so I remember clearly how the pacing was. The pacing is like 60% of the reason why One Piece is not in my top 10. Glad it's getting a remake.

Like the other guy said it’s got moments that shouldn’t be chopped up, there’s a lot going on on every episode. Marineford was an amazing arc way before one pace came out and it’s not even long most of marinefords episodes are rated 9 and above for a reason

Another pair of reactors who just finished MF, react to the cover stories like this. It's nice and quick and Jack knows when's a good time to do them. I'm not sure Jack himself saw the cover stories so it would be nice to see him see something new too.

Obviously its best to also One Pace Marineford, as it is for every arc. You have seen how bad the pacing is in Impel Down. Both are exceptional arcs in the manga and in One Pace, as One pace is close to the manga, while the original anime is just worse. But worse doesnt mean bad obviously, I'm looking forward to the marinfeord reaction either way :)

the issue with the anime in general is they tried to keep the weekly episodes so they extended the episodes in weird ways. The pacing problem wasn’t an issue with the manga only the anime. I thought one pace’s purpose was to get as close to manga pacing.

Nope. He said “Jinbeizame -tachi” which means ‘whale sharks’. The ‘tachi’ in this case is used as a plural, to denote multiple beings. And to confirm, Jinbeizame does mean whale shark. In the names of all of the original warlords, is a reference to an animal they’re themed after. Jinbei’s, obviously, is half of the word for whale shark

Yes, ‘Jinbei-zame’ means ‘whale shark’. All of the original 7 warlords are themed after animals, and as it’s clear by now, Jinbei’s theme is a whale shark. But fun fact: Jinbei is also a traditional set of Japanese clothing used as relaxed and longue wear during the summer, which also happens to be what Jinbei the one piece character is wear, so a double play on words by oda there as he occasionally does lol.

That would be true if the in-between moments were interesting or advanced the characers. Most of the moments that One Pace cuts are shot that hang for excessively long or are useless. There's no reason for a shot to hang on Luffy's face for 10 seconds other than drawing out scenes

they've definitely enjoyed certain arcs more due to one pace and there's a lot of arcs in the future that will benefit from it as well, it's not entirely bad i'm pretty sure their only gripe is that it's a "fan edit" of the show and not the original

Thats what it should be but in reality they cut so much that it feels awful to watch sometimes. Also they butchered one of my favorite moments (choppers monster transformation) from enies lobby. They also cutted some comedy scenes in skypia.

Not unwatchable, just annoyingly paced. There are very few arcs that aren't artificially stretched out by pointless filler. All of the Big Three have this problem, but for a show with a plot as good as One Piece it's especially frustrating
