A lot in naruto was inspired by Japan's culture. mythological and cultural folktales were used to make a lot of characters and powers. Kaguya is based on Princess Kaguya-Hime from a story called Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

Majority of war arc in Shippuden is mess and that too very bad. Except Madara and Obito parts, everything was all spread over. It is weakest arc in all Big 3 when comparing final wars for sure.

Definitely, the peak of the fgnw arc competes with the marineford and tybw but the rest is must hot buns, I skip most of the arc, it starts bad but in the middle gets really peak, then falls off hard and ends with peak again. Kinda easy to compare it with the other war arcs because those are actually consistently good especially tybw arc, the only problem with tbyw arc is the power ranking problem and fast pacing that kinda ruins what the manga was tryna do, and I loved marine ford but luffys constant running did get a little annoying but was easy to pass due to much more in this arc being annoying…

Yeah, personally for me I feel like half the Naruto fandom is kinda sped because the horrible takes and dumb things they say like “Naruto should’ve been the villain” “Itachi beats Madara” “shisui is the strongest uchiha” and the “kaguya ruined ALL of shippuden for me” and people hear it then run with it without giving their own opinion, yes it’s not perfect but it definitely did not ruin my whole perception with he show. I see why people don’t like I don’t love it but it’s not hot buns dog 💩, there is a bunch of foreshadowing but it’s really hard to tell, there’s even foreshadowing to madaras death but you really gotta delve into it, and I can see why people don’t like that but it’s not a total no brain none sense, it just wasn’t executed well.

I think I understand what Jack was trying to say about the alien thing, and if im correct, I agree with him. I don’t like how they presented Kaguya as this godly or celestial being, so incomprehensibly powerful that she literally breaks many of the in-universe rules that have been established. Then reducing her down to just another life form from a different planet. It feels boring, lame, and takes all the mysticism out. Naruto had cool and interesting lore that tied back to actual Japanese folklore. This just feels weird and inconsistent to me to make this play. I guess the counter argument that could be made about the alien god thing is any being whose powers are beyond our comprehension can also be seen as a god, even if they aren’t one eg Superman. Also going back to the last post-vid discussion, a god/supernatural-being existing outside of the world doesn't make them the same as an alien, that feels overly simplified imo

Kaguya is an alien for sure. And isn’t a god on her planet but very powerful obviously. So powerful she from what we know came to a less powerful planet to weak civilization that she was completely able to control and then end up being resurrected. Making her basically a god on earth. Where she came from doesn’t mean she can’t be a god figure for earth. She had godly power to the regular people and was able to manipulate so much of the history of the humanity and was the resurrected. An alien that was a god to the chakra world. It's similar to the animators who have to work tedious hours with a few even dying. Our lives are simply different to theirs unfortunately. Naruto is a global success and they needed to continue to milk it for more cash and thus he was pressured to continue going. It's easy to say he could just stop but our circumstances are not the same as the animators from mappa, manga creators etc especially back in the day if you get what I'm saying.

I think we are saying mostly the same stuff here. I agree with you, Kaguya is a god, in my original comment I compared her to superman. Where her incredible and overwhelming abilities are so incomprehensibly powerful to the world of Naruto that even though she is an alien, her abilities constitute her becoming a god. The point I think we differ on is the origin of chakra. I thought it was unnecessary for her and the tree to be alien (from another planet or even dimension). It just opens up more questions that cannot be satisfactorily answered and adds unneeded complications to the plot. Madara's explanation of the origin of chakra and ninjutsu served the role for the "true" origin story and was acceptable enough. (However even that lead things to be open ended, but I felt like that just added to the mysticism of the story.) It made it be that only the god tree was supernatural. (God tree being similar to the world tree thats been used across multiple cultures, Kaguya being a princess, etc all adding to Kishimoto use of real life mythologies as references.) Kaguya should've just been treated for what she was, a folktale/legend. A story that's been told from different perspectives over generations, coalescing into a legendary mysterious figure of the past. I actually liked her and her sons involvement with the story, I just don't like how it was told. Like you said, Kishimoto could've done a better job at this. I also believe he has the writing capabilities to have done so.

U r confusing animators with Manga Writer.... Manga Writer has very little obligations because he is the owner of all material and it is extremely competitive to be manga author. Case in point, check the news, Hajime Isayama, author of AoT had no rush from anyone but he still ended it at that point. Bleach had its issues because Kubo wasnt well so he planned to cut the story there. Author of Detective Conan has no schedule of release. Togashi also have no schedule. Oda works as much because he has made himself the obligation to work this much. Manga Authors have not as much pressure as animators because they set their timetables and everything which is very rarely challenged by magazine. Animators on the other hand is an entirely different ball game. They have the material to them and very limited time to animate 2 to 3 chapters whereas manga author has to publish only 1 chapter in 1 week or more plus all color grading and production design including sound design so tons more work and they have strict deadlines because of studio which are different from shonen or seinen magazines

He wasn't exactly forced but the publishers of the manga did push for a sequel which he agreed to but only if his former assistants would write it, later due to the people hating boruto he came back to oversee what they write and draw which is why as of lately people say that the manga is getting better

Nah, the fight scene animation on the Boruto movie is not good and it's old style, They've improved it and used a bit more modern animation on the actual Boruto anime. The movie was rushed and the character design is different from the anime. Better to just skip the fillers and watch only the important parts. The only point of watching boruto for them rn is to experience the modern fights since they don't seem interested in the story 😆

95% of Boruto is hot garbage except for one summer in 2021 where the writers locked in for an arc and every episode was a 9.0+. I think they still are on IMDb. That was my favourite year in Anime for me with peak AOT, Demon Slayer, and then Boruto coming out of nowhere. But then it went back to garbage after that…

Boruto went on hiatus on april 2023, apparently they are focusing on releasing high quality animations. They will be releasing the show by seasons(like modern animes) instead of doing it weekly, so that we don't have to deal with the fillers anymore and so that they can focus on high quality animations. Well... I hope it's true.

I just like that that gave the god they did decide to go with an actual origin. Made at least a complete story. Already had to many plot holes up to this point leaving the main peak of the story open ended would just lead to more negative feed back. Imo unless he completely rewrote the ending with madera and changed it completely which would be a completely different outcome from what we know and can’t be compared unfortunately. i dont think it depends cause Naruto was never just about throwing shuriken, katon doton stuff, i mean Deidara nuking cities says hi, edo tensei says hi, the kakuzuhidan duo, Itachi pulling out Susanoo with the totsuka blade and yata mirror, or OPains six paths is not a joke, even genjutsu, kinjutsu, dojutsu, kekkei genkai etc etc were already there in OG Powers tend to escalate in shonen thats nothing new so i think it’s logical that powers got even more OP in the war arc, like we’ve seen Narutos different modes, sharingan-MS-EMS, susanoo-rerfect susanoo, rasengan-rasenshuriken. Even the "city busters left and right" are escalations of tailed beast bombs we’d already seen multiple times

asta's voice actor is iffy with all the shouting for the first 15 episodes, but after that i couldn't understand not liking him, hes one of the most likeable protags alongside hinata from haikyu, naruto, luffy etc, hes just a good guy but he's not afraid to stand up for himself in the way some characters like deku were early on, the guy has a goal and he's set on it, cant really understand not liking him let alone actually hating him

I have thought about the ending of Shippuden since I finished it and have thought of a way better ending. When Hagoromo appeared infront of Naruto and Sasuke he should have explained the whole Kaguya backstory and lore of Chakra. He could've told Naruto and Sasuke to seal Madara away the same way He and Hamura did to Kaguya. I would've accepted that as an ending to the war. They could've still set up Boruto by showing the Kaguya backstory and not bringing her back to life with Black Zetsu.

I wouldn’t say Kaguya doesn’t have emotions😂 she was literally crying in the episode cuz the betrayal she still felt with her sons (and their reincarnates)😂 and remember she was also upset when her lady attendant died. Also I’m pretty sure she had to have some type of emotion to get with that human dude and have babies lol. Yes her face has a flat affect but saying she’s completely emotionless is a bit of a stretch.
