Can someone drop the timestamp of when they talk about how bad Stranger Things season 5 was? People online made so many gates like conformitygate, which is a theory suggesting that what we saw was all an illusion from Vecna, and that an actual episode was gonna come out later. Another one is divorcegate which is a theory that Ross Duffer's ex-wife Leigh Janiak was a ghost-writer/co-producer that made the writing and production way better, then after their divorce it went down hill. They broke up during the early production of season 5 and she did in fact work on the show based on an interview with the set director Jess Royal who worked on all 42 episodes of Stranger Things. The first one was already debunked, the second one would make more sense because that woman wrote the Fear Street series.

I think he simply can’t deny that it’s a better-written anime than most of the others they’ve watched. Even if it isn’t his cup of tea, ranking Naruto lower would undermine the objective aspect of the list. I will say though if you’re already feeling this, Season 3 will actually be where that’s at its most intense… so any new characters and rules and stuff happening with the culling games that are more unnecessarily complex than anything from Shibuya or beforehand

As someone who started watching One Piece along with you and has now significantly surpassed you (I’m almost caught up), if you already love and appreciate One Piece this much, it will definitely be in your S-tier by the time you finish it — and that’s exactly where it belongs (alongside Naruto, in my opinion). i have the exact same naruto take. He is a great character, but he is like the peak of his archetype. You never question if naruto is going to do the right thing. I can kinda understand where Carter is coming from, but I wouldn’t say Naruto is a perfect character. It can just be harder to see since most villains end up changing because of him. His ideology still gets challenged by both Nagato and Obito, where he is forced to confront whether his beliefs about peace can actually survive in a world built on hatred. With Nagato, Naruto doesn't even have a real answer about ending the cycle of hatred. What ultimately convinces Nagato is not a perfect argument, but Naruto’s actions. Even after losing everything, he still chooses to listen, understand, and stick to his ideals. And there are characters like Madara who never accept Naruto’s views at all, showing his ideals are not portrayed as some flawless solution. He just chooses to believe in them anyway and set an example for others to follow.

i don't know when your next kdrama is gonna be but i highly recommend: - Kingdom, a peak zombie historical show literally my favorite zombie show ever. - also i watched the manipulated this year and it finally topped the glory for me every episode was hype the characters are so well written and the plays are really good. - for a good variety i recommend Strangers from hell for a good psychological drama. it's best to experience this completely blind imo like don't even look up a synopsis

I was surprised a little by a few of the S/A+ tier placements. For me personally I would’ve put S tier: 1. One Piece, 2. AOT, 3. HxH, 4. Fullmetal Alchemist, 5. Frieren, 6. Vinland Saga, 7. Code Geass A+ tier: 8. Naruto, 9. Bleach (might go to S tier after I watch the new stuff, but I’m excited for the boys to watch), 10. My Hero Academia, 11. Death Note, 12. Chainsaw Man (caught up to manga) I think I was mostly surprised with HxH and Fullmetal. Would love for them to do a rewatch on their own, but I think HxH has every great element an anime could have and same for Fullmetal. I am also surprised they put MHA above Naruto. I dont really get this take tbh, naruto is my #1 oat for example, but it has far more flaws than a show like MHA. Naruto also has way lower lows throughout the show, and i would say the peaks are comparable considering the lower episode count of MHA. It's definitely the best new gen shonen without a doubt. Its kinda crazy people think Demon Slayer and JJK are even comparable especially after season 8, i mean its just insane that all 11 episodes are at 9.1+ on IMDb alone

definitely agree with it tbh, hxh is slightly overrated imo, mha has a similar episode count but with far more peaks than hxh, even if the top 1-2 peaks in hxh are comparable to the top 3-4 in mha, and MHA never suffers from an issue like the pacing in chimera ant nor anything as bad as the final arc, i think it also has a much better ensemble of characters.

Season 2 is lowkey a victim of some kdrama tropes and Netflix💀💀💀 but it’s still a good show despite that. Season 1 tho, doesn’t feel like a usual kdrama at all. The characters feel really refreshing, the writing is very grounded, the music is goated, and the acting/direction is S-tier for me. If you’re not sensitive to violence, you should definitely give it a chance!

I totally agree with Cannon’s take on Dark. I love the show and it’s genuinely one of my favourite viewing experiences ever with my Dad, and the plot is easily one of the most intricate and gripping I’ve ever seen. That said, I always tell people when I recommend it that the characters are where it can fall short. Some are well-written (Jonas), but there aren’t many characters I actually felt attached to. With such a massive cast spanning multiple families, timelines, and generations, it’s hard for anyone to really stand out, and a lot of them are very flawed in ways that make them hard to like or root for. I didn’t even feel that invested in whether most of them lived or died.

HOTD is just a tighter story than GOT so far, zoomed in onto 1 family and all of those interpersonal issues, not as grand of a scope which makes it easier to dial in on a lot of the story/characters and finer details but it also more dragons which everyone loves. I’d say JJK’s writing is fairly rated (not underrated), like a typical shounen. Like if you compare it to its closest new-gen, Demon Slayer, both excel at animation, action, spectacle, etc, and I’d argue JJK has the stronger cast overall. Where they struggle is writing, just in different ways. I think the difference comes down to story vs plot. Story is the emotional direction: character purpose, themes, and the “why” behind what we’re watching. Plot is the structure: the sequence of events, pacing, and how often the same events repeat. Demon Slayer’s issue (plot) is repetition. The goal and emotional message are clear, but the structure is SO formulaic. Same general arc, new setting/new demon, with really high peaks and then stretches that are setup until the next big moment. It’s consistent, but not in a good way. JJK’s issue (story) is that even when the moments are insane and the characters are great, I don’t really feel a strong point driving what’s happening. It has standout characters and themes, but the larger sense of purpose is blurry, like you’re watching without understanding what they’re building toward. The power system is also just so layered that it adds to the whole “just accept it and move on” thing it has. I love JJK and also rank it high, I just think people use writing as a criticism to put down Demon Slayer when it can also be applied to JJK, just in a different way.

I've never agreed with anyone more. You explained the issues quite well. In my opinion, both JJK and Demon Slayer had amazing potential for the story, but the end result was never quite there. Of course, this is just my opinion. A good story structure also contributes to emotionality and identification with the characters, and I have a hard time getting that feeling with these anime. Otherwise, it seems like everything else is well done.

I’m going to keep this shlong. AOT is number 1. It clears. Wrecks. Destroys. There is nothing IMO that comes close. 1. Cited as the most awarded anime series by a large amount. 2. Still remains one the highest rated anime’s of all time beating juggernauts, even with its supposed bad ending. 3. One of, if not, the most review bombed show of all time! And the bombs still did absolutely no damage to its rating. Still in the green baby! AOT fans know all too well what the IMDB ratings looked like before being reviewed bombed. Over seven 9.9 episodes and 3 10/10 episodes that lasted years. It would have been the highest rated anime of all time on IMDb if not for the review bombs. 4. First anime to get a tv astra award. 5. First anime to get global impact award. 6. Recently won the greatest anime tournament in Japan. 7. Crowned as one of the greatest narratives ever crafted. 8. Fequently cited as the most decorated anime of all time. 9. Watch the anime popularity polls on YouTube and tell me what holds the longest and largest gap. 10. Animation 9.9 with some bad CGI here and there but not necessarily recognizable to the point of distraction or hurting the storytelling 11. Characters are a 10 out 10. We grew and developed with them as the series went on and I fell in love with almost every single one of them including ones who didn’t have much screen time and that goes to show how well written and crafted they were. These characters are my goats, holding the spots of my top five characters of all time. They’re simple, they’re complex, they’re flawed, they’re human and they’re real. 12. Music. 11/10 Enough said. Out of all the media I have taken in, the OSTS for this show is not praised enough. Ordinary day, You See Big Girl, Vogel Im Kafig, Ashes on the Fire, Attack on Titan, Call of silence, Call your name, Red Swan, Warriors, War Hammer Titan, Traitor, Liar, Rumbling, Weight of lives, Footsteps of Doom…I could list about twenty more. 13. Voice acting-10/10 Eren being among the greatest I have ever heard! 14. Pacing-9.8/10 Season 1 is the only season I saw pacing issues with. 15. Themes-10/10 16. Ending and closure-9.7/10 (I wanted more) 17. Story/Plot- 10/10 18. Artistic and technical aspects- 10/10 (Sound design, especially the ODM gear and the titans transformations) 19. Cultural significance-10/10 20. The fights- 10/10 Nothing like your typical shonen fight sequences, instead every punch, hit, stomp, explosion carried consequence. Also I didn’t know how I felt when I first watched AOT. l also got spoiled, so I sat down and watched it, backwards in a way, which was honestly an epic way to do it, but then I took to YouTube trying to see if the feeing I had about it was justified and I found the Geks and I rewatched it with them, so thanks to the Geks (My GOATS) and seeing their reactions they confirmed all of my hidden and suppressed feelings about it. I couldn’t express myself because it was so beautifully written and all of my anime friends would hate on it saying it was boring. So without the Geks reaction channel I wouldn’t have allowed myself to love it as much as I did…if that makes sense. Anyway it also gave me my favorite character of all time…ERWIN Mother Effin SMITH! He dethroned so many of my former goats with ease, I was shocked myself. With all that being said, I absolutely 100 percent understand why someone wouldn’t like AOT or even have it in their top shows. It’s depressing. It’s not fun like OnePiece or hopeful like MHA or inspiring like Naruto or edgy like Arcane lol. It blends dark themes and human complexities. It goes deep into the exploration of war and violence and hatred. So I see why people would prefer something more vibrant, fun and inspiring and wholesome. Done with my rant. AOT glaze ended.

Yeah, not shocked AoT is that high on the list. It’s arguably one of the greatest shows ever made. I genuinely doubt many anime will reach that level again. The only ones that come close are Berserk (if it ever got a perfect adaptation), Gintama’s major story arcs, and maybe JoJo Part 7. Those three, in my opinion, absolutely match AoT’s quality.

I’d say that when One Piece gets the remake by WIT Studio, if they nail it, it could definitely be on that level. I already think the manga is. Honestly, I feel like One Piece is the best manga I’ve ever read. If you compare Attack on Titan’s manga to One Piece’s manga, I think One Piece clears. But if you compare the One Piece anime to the Attack on Titan anime, I think AOT clears. That’s the difference for me. I’ve read the entire Aot manga and watched the entire Aot anime, and I genuinely feel like the manga isn’t as good as the anime. It’s still great, still an amazing story, but the anime elevates it a lot. Meanwhile, the One Piece manga on its own is already top tier. When One Piece gets adapted by WIT Studio with strong pacing, great direction, and a faithful adaptation of the story, I really think it could be up there with the best. One Piece would still have some flaws even with a perfect adaptation, but overall it could reach that level. I also want to bring up Vagabond. Vagabond is an incredible story. I recently read the entire manga, and for me it feels like Vinland Saga 2.0, but with even more focus on character development. Musashi Miyamoto and Matahachi’s journeys are just so well done. Musashi’s development in particular, going from wanting to be “invincible under the sun,” with such a massive ego, to slowly realizing what truly matters in life, is amazing. Because of that, I’d say Vagabond and One Piece are the two that belong up there for me. I don’t really have any others I’d put on that same level. I haven’t read Berserk yet, which you mentioned is probably up there. I watched the first two parts of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and didn’t really like it, so I dropped it, though I’ve heard Part 7 is one of the best arcs ever. As for Attack on Titan, if someone says it’s the GOAT, that’s 100% valid. It’s probably my second or third favorite anime of all time.

Yeah, One Piece Remake will 100% be one of the greatest things ever created, but Oda still makes some dumb mistakes sometimes, so I personally don't really consider it AOT level, but he arguably makes up for it with the peaks of One Piece. So I totally understand if u think it belongs up there. I have not read Vagabond yet, but I have the first 4 volumes at home and am very excited to start it one day. I have no doubt that it's incredible. Yea Jojo has a unique taste, and the first 2-3 parts of Jojo compared to the rest are like day and night in quality. The manga has been going on since the 1980s, so some of the early stuff feels outdated, basic or cliché, but the quality gets significantly better with each part, and it's really impressive.

Yeah i feel AOT with carter and cannon. Thing is its not flawless to me so there would be room to beat it but still the feeling i get from rewatching certain scenes, listening to tracks like ThanksAT, Vogel im käfig, Call of silence, Guilty hero.. The feeling i get kinda transcends the show above even rating it for me. I always find it interesting how peoples views on stuff differs because i have good friends who have to think about whether AOT fits in their top 10 or not. I'm sure there are shows people are just as enthuastic about as me with AOT but i would experience them differently. Guess it comes from sort of developing your own headcanons too as time goes on and you really dive deep into some media and discovering it at a specific moment when it really resonates with you, forming a bond.

Yeah, and I can see that argument. I would definitely agree that if you take the lowest lows of Attack on Titan and One Piece, One Piece definitely has lower lows. I think everyone can agree on that. Even if you only look at the manga, One Piece still has lower lows than Aot. But I also feel like One Piece has way more highs. You could argue that the single highest high might belong to Aot and that’s fair, but Oda just keeps cooking. Even in 2026, he’s still delivering great writing and great stories. He hasn’t stopped. He’s been doing this for almost 30 years, and the quality hasn’t dipped at all. If anything, it’s arguably getting better. The current arc in the manga could honestly be argued as one of the best arcs in One Piece, maybe even the best, depending on who you ask. And I agree that it’s totally fair if some people don’t think One Piece is on Aot’s level. That’s completely valid. But for me, it is, and maybe even higher. AOT is a relatively short story, and I don’t mean that in a bad way at all. I honestly don’t think there are many stories that could be that short and still be that good. That’s one of AOT’s biggest strengths. But One Piece just has so much more to offer in my opinion. Even though it has lower lows, the highs, the overall story, the intrigue, the mystery, and the long-term writing just hit harder for me. And yeah, I’m sure you’re going to love Vagabond. I just recently finished it, or I only have the last single volume left, but I’ve finished all the three-in-one volumes the Viz Big ones. It’s incredible. You’ll definitely enjoy it. I love the message of the manga, I love the character development and everything about it. As for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, yeah, I don’t know. I didn’t really vibe with the first two parts, so I dropped it. I know it’s amazing, though, and I’ve heard Part 7 is one of the best arcs ever. This video fixed my attention span lol also i’m sorry but the collective majority putting Solo levelling over Demon slayer is a hot take for me. Maybe cause i’ve seen the movie and I know the goofiness can be a lot but the characters in sl are so abysmally shallow compared to demon slayer. I’m not trying to glaze but i cried for Rengoku after 2 hours of meeting him plus Nezuko in s3 as well and i know i will never get emotional for anybody in SL, although i don’t expect it to go down that path. The emotional moments in Demon Slayer are very good, SL is lacking. Both shows are what they are which is great action above all else but yeah i do think a rewatch is needed 😭 Great video though!!

I totally agree with you. One Piece has so much to offer, and for long‑term storytelling it’s peak. It has some of the highest highs in anime, but personally the lows in One Piece bother me a lot, so it takes me out of it sometimes, but I still love One Piece ofc. I’ve heard the current manga arc is incredible. I’m about 20 episodes behind in the anime, so I’m excited to get to the next arc. JoJo Part 7 actually releases in March and will probably run for a year or more, so that’s going to be hype. People always say you can’t skip parts, but Part 7 is the one exception in my opinion. It’s a separate universe with a separate plot, though it still has references and easter eggs to earlier parts. You might get confused by the power system if you haven’t seen at least some of Part 3, and you’ll definitely appreciate it more if you’ve watched the others. But you can start with Part 7 if you want. Still, Parts 3–6 are incredible and have some iconic and peak anime moments/arcs and are absolutely worth watching, so the best experience is ofc in order. Berserk is definitely a must read. Bleach is peak! But yea its not on that level, but it definitely has a top 5 villain in anime.

That’s fair. And I agree that the lows of One Piece do bother me as well. I can’t lie about that. They definitely do. It’s just that I can overlook them more, and I think it really depends on the type of person you are, whether you can do that or not. From start to finish, though, you could argue that there isn’t a series as consistently strong as Attack on Titan. It’s pretty much straight peak. Of course, there are some weaker moments, especially early on in season 1 and season 2, but even those “lows” are barely lows. They’re not bad or trash at all, they’re just average or good. That’s a big difference. As for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, yeah, I’m seriously considering giving it another shot. I’ve been thinking about just watching Part 7 when it comes out. If I end up liking Part 7, then I might go back and watch Parts 3 through 6, or maybe even read them. I probably won’t go back to Parts 1 and 2, but Parts 3 to 6 are something I could see myself giving a chance. I know some people say Part 7 is a completely different universe and not directly connected to the first six parts, so you technically can start there. But I also know it helps if you’ve seen at least some Parts before like you were saying. So maybe starting with Part 7 and then going back if I enjoy it is the move. And for Bleach. I think we’re talking about the same villain. For me, that villain is the greatest villain in all of fiction. Maybe that’s glazing, it probably is, but as long as you put him in the top five, that’s a valid take to me. He’s just that good. I’m also really looking forward to Bleach continuing with Thousand-Year Blood War. The final part, Cour 4, coming out in 2026 has me really excited. I really hope they nail it. If they do, it’s going to be so peak

Great lists! My top 10: 1. One Piece (currently caught up in the manga and anime and It just keeps getting better in everything, story, lore, plot, characters. Oda truly is the GOAT). 2. AOT (definitely my most rewatched show because it easily has the most rewatch value of anything I’ve seen, and for a damn good reason). 3. The Sopranos (Tony Soprano is the greatest main character ever made imo, the amount of layers there is to his character is wild) 4. Game Of Thrones (Seasons 1-4 is Peak, 5 and 6 are great and 7, 8 are catastrophic). 5. Better Call Saul (might be a hot take to have it over BB but I think the all around cast of characters are superior) 6. Breaking Bad (falls in to the same category as the sopranos, Walt is an amazing protagonist). 7. Vinland Saga (didn’t expect to rate it this high but after rewatching a couple of times it definitely deserves it). 8. Band Of Brothers (not many shows make me cry, I cry everytime I finish BoB). 9. Avatar (One of the first shows I ever watched and still one of my favorites, Atla truly is a timeless masterpiece) 10. Succession (highest quality TV there is especially in acting, all of the actors did a phenamonal job portraying these characters).

Okay here’s my takes on y’all’s lists LOL Jack definitely has the most goated top 3 to me personally because I haven’t seen Dark, but I’m sure once I do watch it, I’ll agree with everyone else’s rankings of it. LOVE how high Carter, Cannon, and Jack have Vinland Saga. That’s my personal favorite anime of all time (I literally have Thorfinn’s blade tattooed) and I never would’ve even watched it without you guys so, much love. Also love how high everyone has GOT, another show I got into bc of you guys! I think even tho Jack has it in his A+ tier, having it be the bottom of A+ is insane LOLL. I’m so sad to see how low everyone has Stranger Things but I also completely understand it after that final season. I’d be VERY curious to see where everyone would have ranked it last year before season 5 came out because even though it has its flaws, those first 4 seasons are unforgettable and just some QUALITY tv. Also sad to see how low everyone has TLOU but again, completely understandable after how they fumbled season two. I am the certified biggest TLOU fan in general (I have over 600 hours in the second game, over 200 in the first game, my cat is named Ellie, I have a TLOU tattoo, my literal license plate on my car is TLOU2 etc.) and even I can admit that season two was lowkey buns. It should’ve been peak and with the game being so good, it had the potential! And there’s some great moments but overall, the absolute DIVE that the writing took will be forever discussed lmfao. SO PROUD to see how high everyone has One Piece! We’ve come so far!!! I’m not even as far as y’all into the show yet and I have it in my top 5 anime of all time. Big climber. Love to see One Piece so high, in regards to what McCay memtioned about the Buggy stuff in Marineford, a lot of that is actually also just pacing issues, the source material did have some cuts to him but there were fewer of them and they didn’t last nearly as long. Toei added more and made them longer to add padding and intentionally slow the pacing. It’s very specifically an Anime pacing issue

Especially Hakari his power is so simple in actuality but Gege just makes it so obtuse and unnecessarily complex . You can tell Culling Games is when Gege really started to stretch his legs and push his power system and fights to their limit. In the long run it’s growing pains that make Gojo vs Sukuna so incredible though

the fact that everyone even has it rated so high with how abysmal they think the pacing has been at times is almost surprising, however like they explained, the story/plot/world building is just so top tier that it's a strange case and can kinda be overlooked. but the fact that the next few ARCS, which is HUNDREDS of episodes, has some of the worst pacing yet is really rough and needs one pace or else it feels like a drag to get through and loses any momentum which is the worst thing possible

I remember reading some elaborate comments a long time ago (not sure if here or some other forum) about how AoT’s author took (heavy?) inspiration from certain mangas or pieces of historical text and integrated aspects of them together while also being able to create a uniquely different piece. If anyone actually knows the truth I’d be very interested to know, instead of either side saying “oh he ripped off everything” or that every thought was completely original (or maybe it was). I only point this out because I can tell when people are simply rage baiting but I remember those comments all those years ago because they were thoughtfully written, maybe some of the most detailed comments you could write on any online forum. And they made references and logical explanations of source -> inspiration, analysis. If anyone here has special knowledge of this (not just one-sided) I’d love to hear it

There's no good reason not to use One Pace going forward, personally as a manga reader first One Pace Improves almost every arc significantly but from here on out it's pretty much a must for them seeing how much the pacing and Toeis filler scenes mixed with canon episodes already bothers them.

I'm all for diversity but as a fan of non-western media (including anime, kpop) the community of this stuff is always LOUDEST for no reason. After the first kdrama and kpop reaction we a had FLOOD of people that honestly be suggesting literally ANYTHING. Some of the gems of media get lost because some yet another mid stuff wins a poll. And ofc there are some good kdramas out there that made it to the higher tier, but the reality is that we had a kdramas BACK TO BACK over and over this year, just for half of it end up mid. And it all happened because after the first kdrama all the people from that community started spamming random ahh shows they liked. Like yall need to be fr. i personally LOVE it. it's in my top 5 even after years of being into anime (although i haven't watched a lot of the most popular highest rated ones). i've never liked sports tbh they've always been so boring to me but i just love haikyuu. season 1 is pretty slow since it's mostly setting up the main team and everyone in it, but as you get further into the series it definitely picks up way more. the dynamics and messages are something special but even the volleyball aspect i've come to enjoy because everything else helps elevate the feelings and emotion of it all. even though it focuses on the main team karasuno you can't help but root for other teams as well or feel bad when they lose because of the special characterizations of even the side characters. it's just a very human series and a breath of fresh air. if you do decide to continue the anime then i hope you read the manga cause i am such a fan of what happens after where the anime ends (at the moment since there's more to come out)!!! and if you continue and still don't like it that's also fine i mean to each their own :) (sorry for the long reply i'm a haikyuu glazer i guess)

Well that's you're first mistake, s2 and so on is where its at. S1 was very good for me personally, but it was mostly setup and you get to know so many other teams and side characters in s2, you really feel like you know everyone and get heavily invested in teams that are not karasuno.

Idk why I'm seeing so many people mad that MHA was placed over HXH. I am a HUGE hxh glazer. I adore it. But like a lot of the shows, it has the highest highs and then also fillers or drops off sometimes. MHA was consistently good for a whole 8 seasons whereas I dropped HXH twice trying to get into the chimera ant arc cos I found it so slow, despite loving it afterwards. The final arc was awful too (NOT KILLUA AND ALLUKA). MHA was consistently good every season and when it did dip down slightly, it was still entertaining filler and I felt more connected to more characters in MHA compared to only feeling connected to a small amount in HXH. Plus MHA soundtrack is phenomenal and definitely took me to places HXH didn't other than in a few episodes.

I feel like blue lock is a lot more competitive, but Haikyuu really makes you feel like you’re on the team and sometimes makes you want other teams to win more. I love the characters of the show, I’d say watch all the way through season 1 to get a feel of the show, if you don’t like it than it just isn’t the show for you which is perfectly fine

I resonate with Mckay in this one. Naruto is just a very special anime for me, I grew up with it naturally since it's the most popular anime in the west and my older sister would buy naruto games and merch for it, so I do have a nostalgic bias towards it despite its obvious flaws. It wasn't until 2016 I really started watching anime and had the biggest urge to watch Naruto since I was familiar with the basics of it, and while I can say there are a lot more anime out there that are better, it's just very hard to put anything above it when you grow up with something dear to you. One Piece did jump up significantly in my list, though from when I first watched it back in 2017 and stopped in the Amazon Lily arc. Since August, I've been actually proud of myself for committing to catching up. Currently at the end of Dressrosa.

I'm taking this moment to recommend Monster. The anime is slept on so I don't think it'll win a poll (or at least anytime soon). Also the vast majority of the flaws in One Piece is from the animation studio, not the mangaka. The pacing issues, garbage, and vast episodes can be blamed on the studio not Oda. You can fault Oda for weird character designs, but not the pacing and garbage because that's completely the studio's political choices. They want the anime to drag as much as possible so Oda can write, that's why fans made One Pace so it's closer the source material

I remember it started as you guys saying you will probably never watch one piece, then carter last year saying it feels like hes been told the biggest lie about him not going to be able to enjoy the show for the first 500 episodes. to now, all of them having it in A+ tier. The CSM ranking is actually so valid to me… I think McKay enjoys the dark trio in terms of what the dark trio is known for. The next one in that trio is hells paradise and I think McKay would enjoy that aswell. you have to see it in their perspective. They are relatively new to anime so to them, MHA is a modern Shonen that learned from the mistakes of past Shonen's. MHA is the definition of a modern shonen. Carter, your rationale for Game of Thrones is completely valid, and I'd agree. I'd honestly put it in just A or B tier, not even A+, purely because of what it became as the show went on. Controversial, maybe, but I'd say the same about Attack on Titan. I wouldn't go so far as to put it in A or B tier, though; it'd still be A+ for me.

this debate about naruto and the shows writing is a debate as old as time. Im on the 'the show is flawed' side or carters side, its only ok, the characters and world building are shallow and while i love the show, its seriously flawed. I have friends who agree with the 'naruto is an excellently written character' take like cannon. and we disagree. Some of them are one piece haters and naruto glazers, i tend to be a 'naruto hater' and one piece glazer. different styles and stories hit people differently is what it says to me. Also to be clear, i like naruto a lot, im not actually a 'hater' im just using the term to describe that i tend to be more criticial of naruto and i know i personally glaze OP more.

@Mahti they will likely one pace a lot of arcs which for the ones coming up cuts out a ton of episodes so they'll go a lot further, also who knows what binges they may do

The writing and peaks does bring it up a lot but the pacing brings that down a lot too cuz it's not just a single arc that has bad pacing but multiple arcs which Naruto has way less of besides half of war arc

In the same way Naruto has way more filler, way worse pacing and a way worse ending. They both have their pros and cons. I grew up with Naruto(first anime I ever watched) and I still absolutely love it, but right now I rate MHA higher.

yeah idk how they can't see the writing issues with the 2nd season. S1 was very good but S2 has a vary noticeable drop-off in quality, especially when it comes to the writing. One good battle episode is not enough to save the whole season.

jack probably love naruto like mckay and briggs (and most people) if he watch it by himself. one pice and naruto is still with me after years of watching.. i think the vibe of naruto reaction was so HORRIBLE so much negativity, especially OG and early shippuden ( i even say its the worst naruto reaction on all youtube to the point i wish they just stop watching it ), hard to enjoy a show with environment like that. also MHA... cmon bruh. i love it but its too high.

I really hope they get to Better Call Saul at some point. Jimmy is one of the most well written characters in recent television. Sooooo much more complexity than you would ever imagine just from Breaking Bad. I actually have him as being closer in quality and depth to characters like Tony Soprano or Don Draper than Walter White is. It’s just such a slow burn at first I really hope they can get through it.
