Kae D. en

What a nice surprise

beannie

early peak??🥹 my goats fr

Natacha

Can we have Carter’s reaction to these episodes ?

Maj

WE'RE HEREEEEE, when Carter's back next week I'm gonna need a lil segment on his thoughts of the 4 eps he was out for - thanks in advance folks

mechuri131

camping here for jjk but let's goooooo 🔥

Cannon Andrus

This was the saddest thing ever tbh

Chayma

Today is just peak after peak

wanira 11

I can't with Mckay's timing sometimes: "We've spent 500 eps with Luffy, and I don't really feel like we know that much about him." *Ensue Luffy's backstory*

7sonax

Next batch we want to hear carter’s thoughts when he hopefully gets back

Cade

ACTUALLY MADE MY DAY WITH THIS UPLOAD LETS GO

sakeniku

i was just about to sleep 🤭

greyxwaren

I JUST REFRESHED??? LETS FREAKING GO? MORE PAIN YIPEE

wanira 11

It's so funny tho 😂😂

Promanex(Alex)

Can Carter record these episodes he missed on his own instead of just watching it offline, really want to see his reactions of it :(

greyxwaren

during marineford and seeing ace’s death i didn’t really cry i was just shocked and gutted. this arc though had me go through it i was bawling my eyes out the whole time. i was binging it and couldn’t go to school the next day because my face and eyes were so puffy so i skipped to show solidarity for my captain (and to hide my swollen face lol)

fay

welcome to LA! it's raining rn, lowkey gloomy but at least its not hot :)

Dasha

I love one piece

mina

FIRE

Dasha

MC’s backstory 500 eps in is kinda crazy

Maj

Makes ace's death hit so much harder man

Nanami's Wife

Dadan and the rest of the bandits are so funny, I love them. Dadan is always stressed 😭😭😭 Garp leaving Luffy and Ace to bandits and not expecting for them to turn into pirates was crazy fr😭 I had a feeling that maybe it was intentional, but on the other hand maybe not because he was really determined to make them Navy soldiers so things like an execution wouldn't happen to them. He is a very complex character I will say

Michael H

Agreed. They are such Carter episodes.

wanira 11

Dadan my goat is here ❤

Huzz

WHEN IS JJK PLEASEEEE GEKS I NEEED THISSSS MY MOM IS KINDA HOMELESS

SavDog23

This backstory just has immaculate vibes. It's so refreshing after all the chaos and suffering from the end of Sabaody to Marineford.

Michael H

Jack’s looking a little too comfortable on that couch with all that extra space…

Dreamknight942

This backstory is so good, little Luffy dangling being tortured is so hard to watch. It’s such an important arc. It’s so important to the story and Luffy as a character. I hope Carter is able to catch up also 😊

Ante

Well technically we still got 4 eps in one day. I'll take this as an absolute win!

Carlos

Hold up a second drop

Carlos

Oh it’s Thursday I forgot

Dasha

Son of the King of the Pirates, son of the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army and son of the Forth Hokage💪 The Ultimate Trio

SavDog23

Ace mentioned Sabo (and Dadan) to Luffy as he was dying. It's an easy thing to miss because your so immersed in that moment.

wanira 11

The fact that all these years later Luffy was still just a little brother running after his older brother, just like they were kids, only to now lose him forever 💔 breaking my heart over here Oda. This is just one of a lot more moments from Marineford that gets recontextualized in this backstory.

greyxwaren

what do you meannn we love our uhhh Goat D. Sabo and no that’s not a made up last name we haven’t brought him up because he wasn’t introduced yet

charlie

damn Carter is missing the backstory that’s ass

wanira 11

Ngl, Oda was kinda wild for the child torture 💀 I always forget how visceral it is

E L

Did they explain why

wanira 11

Only in one piece :)

Don Carlo

Please try not to watch anymore without Carter we need him here for these 😭 (even though that might be hard because he’s on father time now)

Nanami's Wife

It's such a hard watch seeing baby Luffy getting tortured 🥹🥹 His little voice saying "I won't say it" breaks my heart

Kite

The Justice League movie is garbage and the Snyder Cut it's 4 hours of a little less garbage

farkzzy

disappointed in jack for not knowing sabo was naruto already

Jack

Ohhh I probably did at some point but I also watched this before we started Naruto

Jack

Yessir

farkzzy

oh that’s fair actually I didn’t really think about that

Jack

?

Jack

I hate seeing little Luffy cry…

Emily Rose

😭 my babies, lil ace was a menace

Emily Rose

Not yall trying to bait Carter into a hot take

beannie

we need to protect little luffy at all costs

AdustNinee

They beat the brakes off Luffy

Coreneelia

this backstory means the world to me

Seb

jack, since your the only one whos seen one piece before are you all caught up? if not where are you at in the show?

Ceci

Its a joke from a streamer

Promanex(Alex)

Naruto’s VA did Gon in hunter x hunter 1999, probably not the same VA from the one you guys watch which is hunter x hunter 2011

beannie

this arc is one of my favorites. I love the little details here that make sense with luffys character in the present, like him him picking up a stick to move through the forest the same way he did in skypiea. istg he's the cutest😭

Chrisiyyi

Guys... garp cant send them to a marine academy bcs then ace is in danger of getting backtracked on being the son of the pirate king, mom carried it intentionally for long costing her life, how he suddenly have a grandson. Luffy probably bcs of his son dragon going rogue and goverment could use luffy to bait dragon..

beannie

I think he was at 1015 like 2 or 3 months ago

Qhoa

W

beannie

I’ve been waiting for mckays reaction to sabo ever since yall started op ngl. We have all of the big 3 MCs in this saga, Luffy, Naruto (sabo) and Ichigo (Marcos voice actor)

Dreamknight942

It works so well though. At his lowest point, we get to go back and see what makes Luffy who he is.

Mr. John Kagurabachi

Garp when Luffy decides to be a pirate after leaving him alone with bandits his whole childhood: 🤯🤯

Juicy D. jaloomba

Please tell me Carter is gonna be there for the next batch, I can’t stand to see any of the geks gone during these very important episodes

esme

wow didnt know abt bleach

sil 🧸ྀི

tiny luffy being punched hurts MY SOULLLLL he looks too itty bitty tiny im so sad

Yhwach

Ace mentioned Sabo to Luffy back on verge of his death in Marineford along with Dadan.

Hugh

We dont talk about sabo because he is a bum

jrnoodles

Thanks! Finally the backstory!

Coreneelia

little ace was such a menace 😭

ahmad

Poor luffy oml 😭😭

Hugh

My bum list to this point in the show 1. Fraudhawk(“lets postpone the fight vista, the paints coming off my sword”) 2. Slave oppressor(frap) 3. Bumssop( do i even need to explain myself) 4. Pill popper chopper( gets away cs he cute, lowkey drug addict) 5. Ace(died for a yo daddy joke)

__Blank__

You in a different time zone? It was 5pm when you posted this😭

Coreneelia

little luffy is just the cutest

deeno 💿

jack's so strong for not showing the urge to spoil about what's to come or sabo's existence fr

Zess

The chopper one got me lol

wadad sk

Sabo was mentioned once before when Ace was dying but yea, I love these 3 together so much

Anit Bubu

Oda was so wrong for doing Luffy like that I was bawling my eyes seeing him getting beat up

S

I've actually never forgiven Ace for f'ing spitting on Luffy

St4rscream

Entire dceu and mcu series guys? Just to add more to the plate 😅

aubrey

PEAK ASL BACKSTORY FINALLLYYYYYYYY

Juicy D. jaloomba

But he still wanted them to somehow join the navy

anairam

This arc is what really made ace's death hurt so much more 💔💔

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

The way I see it, Luffy and Ace are sons of the world's worst criminals, so that means they need to be hidden. Since the boys can be killed just because of who their fathers are, Garp probably felt that the only way to keep them protected was by turning them into marines. And I don't believe anyone would think to look for them in that mountain, so while it's questionable for him to leave them with bandits, it's also an astute hiding place for them. It's also important to note that Garp is a marine hero on duty and if someone like him took years of vacation off (to raise his grandsons), I'm sure it'll be suspicious enough to warrant unwanted attention. So like any soldier on duty, he really can only see them for short periods of time periodically, though I'm sure that the only reason why Garp even moved Luffy from the mountain to the village, is because it's in the village that Luffy met Shanks and he wanted to avoid a repeat of that. That's always been how I understood Garp, anyway. But it's still true that leaving them to be raised that way was for sure not going to turn them into marines, so he really reaped what he sowed there Trying to keep them safe essentially also meant leaving them on their own to be free to choose the path they desired.

Rayanh Shequinah Nansha

I'm hoping he also films his own reactions. I was looking forward to his reaction to these.

Kylie

Safe travels this weekend guys! Have so much fun

A A

Already a 9 from Carter ☺️

charlie

i’d assume this just coincided with Bradlyn having the baby but i’m not sure how much they prerecorded just unfortunate timing

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

one pieces amazing voice acting regarding all the main characters and such vs the 'animals' will never not be hilarious lmao

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

'i hate hearing him yell aces name, it just reminds me of when ace was on the platform' and ur so real for that cannon, everything comes full circle for better or worse fr 😭❤️‍🩹

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

22:15 gachiakuta immediately made me think of gray terminal and its societys set up, wouldnt b surprised if it was inspo

Matthew

We’re fried bro. We finna watch Elbaph with them in 2067 🥀

Kylie

I’m just making this connection now it’s kinda crazy

Nrock23

The goat is here

Crystal

LMFAOOOOOO😂😂😂😂

Kylie

SABO!! I’ve been waiting for you guys to meet him

april 🍏

“Luffy kept chasing after Ace” 😭💔 I love this little arc. Little Luffy is so small and bouncy and I’m so maternal towards him. He’s just a baby

Zipzzty

Let’s goo

Zipzzty

No first Goat

Zipzzty

Let’s go

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

45: 13 no fr garp 'the hero': dont become pirates, theyre criminals also garp 'the hero': *has them thrown in the jungle or raised by criminals*

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

dadan and squad underrated 🥺 and no like, what did he think was gonna happen? 😭 mans out here like 'i just want u guys to be raised by criminals, not become them!'

Nonos

Cookin in the outro. Great discussions 👀

jackson M

Nah my goat appreciate you

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

bro these comments on every upload is a bit much 😭 they just did double their usual uploads the entire last arc and they have obligations to other shows and fans too, plz dont make us look ungrateful 😔💔

Joy

Tbf Ace's existence was a secret so hiding him on Mt. Corvo with people who can't turn him in without turning themselves in as well was Garp's best bet. As for Luffy, he was initially being raised in Windmill Village and Garp only moved him to Mt. Corvo after Luffy met and became influenced by Shanks. He probably thought moving Luffy far away from the coast and into the mountains would minimize any further influence by pirates.

Nick K

When Ace was talking with Luffy as he was dying he tells Luffy that he doesn't think he would've had a reason to keep living without him and Sabo growing up, and that's the first and only time before this that Sabo is mentioned.

T

The vibes of these episodes are wholesome but they just make me sad because we know Luffy is struggling rn and it hurts to see his young self wanting to be friends with Ace arghh

T

35:31 Noooooooo Luffy 💔💔

greyxwaren

he’s literally three apples tall 😭

greyxwaren

yeahhh it’s literally like experiencing a real death to me it only really hits you when you hear how they lived their lives and seeing he they were when they were kids when the figure was still so vast and the opportunities are endless :(

greyxwaren

plus they have families and other obligations like be so freaking fr rn. we’re all excited for them to catch up but let them enjoy and appreciate the show at their own pace geez

greyxwaren

if you and your brother haven’t tried to kill each other at least once in your lifetimes are you even brothers?

greyxwaren

monkey D. “mom said it’s my time on the controller” luffy 🥹🤏

greyxwaren

yep they’re not the same. gon’s 2011 VA is megumi han not junko (naruto’s VA)

Zipzzty

😭😭

Zipzzty

Love Dadan

Grae

I've been waiting for McKay to meet Sabo 😭

greyxwaren

i’m really interested in hearing more of your thoughts regarding the placement of this flashback as you go though it or after you’re done with it. since C&A (ange specifically) had an issue with it not being during marineford. i have my personal takes but i’ll save them for after you guys are done with it

Hegataro

THE ONE PEACH! THE ONE PEACH MONSTER!

codesterr

right before cannon talked about it being sad hearing luffy scream ace bc it reminds him of ace in handcuffs, i was thinking the EXACT same thing. ace probably thought of young luffy chasing and screaming at him in forest when luffy was trying to save him. so sad :(

Kuro

yeah, I feel like people like to call Garp dumb, but he actually did make the smartest move he could, considering both of them would be good as dead if anybody found out who they really were.

Kuro

bro they have other obligations besides one piece and did a huge one by dropping chunks of Marineford, which would've never been done as fast if they did their usual amount of eps. Please be respectful and consider the fact that they have families as well.

Kuro

his little "guess you'll have to find out" while he knows damn well lol....

Kuro

I think he wanted them to prove their worth and "good" so the marines would have to question whether they were truly evil, not to mention it was the perfect setup for Garp to protect them and actually be able to throw hands if anything were to happen regarding them.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

swear im not even a full on garp hater, but i just really dont think he made the smartest moves possible tbh - man tried to teach them lessons that were in conflict with how he had them brought up, and in treating them as he did and raising them with criminals he contributed to their own self-fulfilling prophecies. garp never had to communicate to ace or anyone else that roger was his father and could have waited till he was older after he had a chance at a normal childhood to let him know. luffys a little more complicated with him being his grandson by blood but also luffy himself didnt know that dragon was his father until he was grown, and the navy (at least in garps unit) didnt know either until garp said it right in front of them, which is also part of what leads me to believe that dragon being luffys father is not on the same level as roger being aces, or at the very least garp being his grandfather evens the scales more for him...all that being said, there were just def other options imo

Chrisiyyi

Ye probably not as his "grandsons" but when they are old enough to join themselves

christopher

its crazy it took 493 episodes for luffys backstory

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

he did get some back in the begining tbf, but oda def likes to drip feed some peoples backstories before suddenly shoving the 5 course meal in front of u lol

christopher

this is also cool because it shows luffy was not Level One when he first went out to see and now we know how he was able to beat arlong

christopher

revolutionary fight government, navy fights pirates, and pirates fight everyone.

Tyrell D. Rose

Ohh thank you, I was sooo confused when he said Naruto and Gon

kuza

luffy genuinely just brings me so much joy

charlie

yea where did they get a rope that long lmao

DonDuh103

Watching Luffy as a kid get beaten for Ace before Ace even cares is sad as heck! It's cool seeing Luffy wasnt always strong like it made it seem. Love Garp but hes a huge fumble on what he wanted for Ace and Luffy.

charlie

I love how they kind of reign you back in with the power level here with them being worried about real swords

Tyrell D. Rose

😭 The moment where he’s staring at the sky and then starts laughing with the music... 😭😭😭😭😭 I’ve seen this flashback a hundred times but I still get the biggest smile. 🥹 How can you not love Duffy?

DonDuh103

Enjoy yalls 5 days in LA with all The LOL! I really appreciate you guys more then just theses reactions definitely makes me happy to interact here!

Tyrell D. Rose

Come on, if Luffy did it, you can do it

kuza

saboooooooo

Tyrell D. Rose

Seeing Luffy interacting with Naruto and saying “be my friend, buddy”… the two MCs from the first two animes I ever watched. The feelings are taking me rn 😮‍💨

Zipzzty

🐐🐐

Zipzzty

Same that’s why he’s the goat

Zipzzty

🐐🐐🐐

julia

I love Luffy so much, my little pookie🤏🏻

Marcus D

Is the audio extra low today or is it just me?

Marcus D

This arc is so funny haha, Luffy is so hilarious and cute.

Marcus D

The Revolutionaries are the vigilantes lol

Emily Rose

I love baby ace so much. I know he’s a menace, but he’s just sad 😭

beannie

YOU KNOW BAAAAALL, that’s one of my favorite little moments too🥹

Seb

how about for the midcards you guys keep score per arc, like if you guys luffy 1 point (since it’s always him) and for guessing another one of the straw hats you get 3 points and do like a contest per arc

Umar

it's always low

Emily Rose

I love when something important comes up on the screen that the guys don’t know about and Jack looks at the camera 😂

Promanex(Alex)

CAN CARTER please react to the 4 episodes that he missed. Guys like this so they can see this comment 😭

lawswater

luffy's backstory is some of my favorite episodes out of all of op honestly

Umar

Naruto (Sabo) and Luffy having a convo😭

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I'm so mad how Luffy has such a big mouth and how he is so unnecessarily fighty and that's probably one of the reasons why Luffy was not one of my favorite characters so far. But I get it as he is just a kid now and it's very admirable how he is taking such a beating because he doesn't want to interfere with Sabo's and Ace's dream. I was tearing up.😁

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Carter not in the studio so Mc and Jc take charge of the general volume. Also I have to out the volume from 25 to 35 to hear them at least somewhat but of course Cannon screams then🙄

Chris Schwirz

Kid luffy is hysterical i love his backstory sm

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Is Bumssop the father or the son. Fits both also. And who is slave oppressor? Ace a bum for real. I don't want him to be but he is what he is.

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

It's not like One Piece is even close to perfect. At least the anime. He should've tried to make one😈

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Well didn't Cannon say they're flying to LA tomorrow? So this day would be like Wednesday or Tuesday this week I'd guess

Nanami's Wife

LMAO That’s funny😭 But I have a big heart to go all around😏, and due to me being a widow, Choso has stepped up for now and Hiromi also put in his interest (Nanami you still my #1 even in heaven😔)

greyxwaren

as someone who went through the newborn phase i believe they are in the trenches now. maybe carter needed a day or 2 off to recover because those nights are no joke

greyxwaren

was? i hope he is now 🥺🥺

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I thought it would've been obvious but I guess I left room for doubt there

Klo123

By the way when dadan was talking about being the devils son she meant luffy not ace but he thought they were talking about him 15:35

Patrick Wisdom

0 points for Luffy tbh. If you guess him every time you're guaranteed to win

blackleg sanji ୨୧

little luffy and ace bring out my maternal instincts they're so cute 🥺

greyxwaren

lol idk because luffy was my top 1 in my ranking way early on even before this arc and this one just solidified it i never thought not everyone vibed with him. i’m gonna quote him for a bit “why was he just listing off all your best qualities” 🤣

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Don't get the quote but I understand him differently on this watch and also later on the series from the first watch. Well I was 17 I think when I was at this point in the anime. That's 7 years ago. Maybe I have now developed the brain needed for that😂

LDragneel

Luffy from the get go, is really terrible at Lying! But he won't rat out his buds! (even though ace and sabo was not fond of luffy here yet)

William Glasgow

the sphereites err i mean Grey terminal residents are rough

kuza

smh

Taylor Hollingsworth

big fan from the uk lads, im up to date on one piece and rewatching with you guys has been unreal, keep it up boys!

lola

Alright… Black Clover when???

Liza

Luffy backstory ugh I love it. Seeing little Luffy, Ace and Sabo. 💕😆😆

Liza

oh yeah Naruto is here in one piece AHAHAAHAH I was hoping you guys would catch onto it and you DID ayeee

Hugh

Bumsopp is a family name which also includes the mom, imagine dying of sickness what a bum, and slave oppresor is garp the fraud ofc

JT

omg please bunch this backstory together as much as possible it’s too long 😭 let’s get to the important stuff!!!

Sock

Yes I cried so hard when I first watched this arc seeing little Luffy getting beat up like that was so heartbreaking

Natacha

the quote is from WCI arc

Nanami's Wife

I remember in one reaction Brig was wearing a Black Clover shirt, so I wonder if one day they’ll watch it🤭

greyxwaren

???? brother what are you talking about this arc is very important plus it’s a fun watch why are you rushing them. if by important stuff you mean hype moments YOU personally are excited about youtube is free go watch it again

Marcus D

Sorry Sasha, but you may be a fraudulent Sanji fan if you don’t remember that quote

Zipzzty

Peak backstory

Zipzzty

19:40 😂😂

Zipzzty

27:00 Naruto

Zipzzty

38:45 Luffy . 40:00 so sad

Zipzzty

40:40 ☹️

kuza

how are you possibly calling this unimportant...

Mauricio.

JT, I love your pfp of my husbands, but what a trash take this is. This is so good and so important to the show.

Mauricio.

Where is it, Jack ?

studiogek

The next upload will be delayed until tomorrow becuase Carter is back and is catching up on the ones he missed! See you guys tomorrow

Maryam Ali

These are my all time favorite episodes that Ive often rewatched separately from the rest of the show ^^

Cade

terrible day for rain:(

farkzzy

carter let us know what you think 🙏

cozo

as long as carter is there it's peak

Maya 🌱

As long as Carter is back😁😁

E L

:(

Rhettoric

Happy to hear Carter is back! This post war arc feels like it's right up his alley! Take your time Geks 🐐

Promanex(Alex)

Hope he can film when he catch up if not at least let us hear his thoughts :(

Promanex(Alex)

Arguably the most important episodes of the series, good bait man

Poragami

flashback ends in 11 episodes for anyone wondering, it's a really good flashback tho.

Marcus D

Can’t help but palm my face and smirk every time kid luffy does some dumb shit 😂😭

Nash

Hoping for an early drop 🙏

Promanex(Alex)

20 mins until I get home better be up :D

mina

waiting

wanira 11

Early drop? 🧐

Pudding

I just rewatched Fan Letter and ughhhhhhh it's so good😭😭 idk when they'll get there, but they'll adore it, I'm sure

Nanami's Wife

No fr, I feel like after they watch it they are going to feen for more one piece than they already do 🤭

Pace

This is my favourite part of the marineford war saga - luffys backstory and the aftermath, the way oda set everything up is so epic and beautiful. BTW PLS watch fan letter after this!

Michael H

McKay, you let me down! I was zeroed in on your face when Sabo spoke up, waiting for the recognition. And then…Jack has to look it up lol. For shame…

Chérie

!!! SABO THE GOAT !!!
