I lowkey fell behind so I didn’t finish season 2 reactions until Sunday. It was a great finale and I REALLY wanted to watch next episode but I wanted this to be the first show that I don’t jump ahead on you guys for after being introduced to it. But also I feel that the mid semester time crunch is about to kick in to gear so I’m being responsible with my time.

The actress who plays Mary was Martin Freeman's real life wife during filming (i think they've split up since but I can't remember for sure). Also the actors for Sherlock's parents are Benedict Cumberbatch's real life parents 🙃

The finale was too traumatic, and it took years for the show to return, and literally every day, a new theory emerged crazier than the last. So much so that they made fun of it in this episode. Moffat and Gatiss are demons. Please never stop watching shows like this. also people were probably also waiting for this to drop to catch up.

Mustaches are well-liked these days, but when this aired, they were the OPPOSITE of in-style. We all in the audience were also really hoping he would shave it 😂 but with modern eyes, I do think it looks nice

"Penny for the guy" is for November 5th, Guy Fawkes Day. (Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Parliament). So kids would go around with effigies of Guy, asking for a penny for fireworks, or just to donate to the cause (according to my Nana). Nowadays it seems like bonfires!

Also I don't know if you guys pinpointed it since I haven't finished watching yet, but each and every crazy "theory" on how Sherlock did it is a theory that debuted on Tumblr and in online forums in the months after the season 2 finale. The craziest, funniest fan theories that the writers and producers ended up putting in the show. A fun little way to incorporate the fandom at the time after torturing us for so long haha.
