Oczy's character development is genuinely one of the best in anime out there. Like you can literally go back to his introduction episodes and its night and day, its also so natural and tied to the story that it feels even better. Badeni's prayer was also just so well done and then the fact that we almost never see fight scenes in the anime makes this one hit HARD, also Nowak being mad AF because heretics approached Jolenta will always remind me how much he loves his daughter, these episodes are just so PEAK damnit.

Also the ost in the Badeni prayer scene is called "thaumazein" it comes from a greek word and as a greek myself I love all these references in the anime, one of the most touching osts out there! By the way the music in ORB is made by the same guy that has made Chainsawman/Dandadan/ OSTs.

Exhausted. Worked a 16 hour day. Was stuck in traffic for an hour. Had one of the best and biggest crash outs of all time…but then I remembered I had Orb to watch. My third favorite episode of the show! I have my nachos and my wine and I’m ready to go! Thanks Geks for making my day better!

Even though Orb makes us tense and uncertain throughout, there’s still something so serene and civil about it. The cosmos, faith and humanity all arguing quietly under the same sky. And the Creator (whatever you believe it to be) just waiting patiently for everything to catch up. My favorite episode is almost here. Also my favorite manga panel.

At first I thought Badeni caught on and was playing Jolenta against Nowak, like "if I'm in danger, your daughter is too" type but here we are lol Lot of great character moments in this episode. Wonder how that necklace will come into play next.

This is a heavy topic, but I'd like to tell you about my husband's father. He was born into a Christian family, and while he was an elementary school student during World War II, he was trained as a Japanese citizen and soldier to face the enemy with a bomb and then commit suicide. Be flexible. It's not easy for individuals to continue doing all of these things in their own efforts to survive. I don't think this is about being a good person. Well, what is a good person? And for whom? That's how it feels to me. Sorry for this long post, as usual. I don't know who this anime is reaching or how it is reaching them. However, coming to this community where I can hear the opinions of studioGEK and others has made me think again.

same here regarding how i initially felt about oczy, rafal had just died and i was NOT in the mood to see oczy's face. i literally left a comment under your episode 3/4 reaction saying that i wasnt going to like anyone as much as rafal, lol. i did not realize how good this show was at characters yet, and that rafal was an example, not an exception

As a person who works in science and medicine, I want to point out that what Oczy had proposed is essentially the idea of peer-review. It’s important in scientific advancement and as it had been pointed out in earlier episodes, an outcome that is not in keeping with your expectation is not a meaningless one. A single-person’s contribution is prone to bias, that’s why to apply science doesn’t mean to assume atheism, but rather to allow room for doubt even when you’re holding onto faith :) this includes our own academic pursuits and the development of scientific truth
