it's called bleach because Kubo wanted to originally name the manga after the color of a soul reaper's outfit but "White" or "Black" were just too boring so he landed on "Bleach" which he considered a cooler alternative to "White." I believe it may also be related to Konso, which is what its called when they send the ghosts to the soul society (aka cleansing their soul, like bleach does to clothing)

To answer why Orihime (and the others) look different is because of the manga art style changing during the Soul Society arc. Most long running manga have a noticeable art style change throughout the years, sometimes changing and improving multiple times. The anime art style began changing its art style with the manga, it just happens much sooner.

If i remember correctly Kisuke's sword translation from Benihime was "The Crimson Princess" and Zangetsu is "Moon Slayer". There was a website I used years ago that gave these translations up on top of the screen, and I don't remember what it was called.

Not sure if they'll ever fully explain what "gigai" is later on in the show, I could be wrong since it's been almost a decade since my last watch, but i always questioned some of the english translations from the show. gigai as an example, in japanese its "義骸" which is pronounced as gigai thats why i believe they translate it that way, however in japanese characters do carry certain meaning, 義骸 itself can be understood as corpse or body, which is pretty much self explaned, the show itself roughly explained what a gigai is, combine that with the japanese characters, it does make sense to the reader who knows japanese. zanpakuto can be another example, it's written as 斬魄刀, which is pronounced as zanpakuto, but the character it self means a sword that cuting/slashing soul/spirit, combine that with what happened in the anime, you dont really need a full explanation of the sword. im not trying to say a fully explanation wasnt necessary, all im trying to say is the author himself probably never thought about people from the other side of the world will watch his show and have trouble understanding certain terms, plus the english translation doesnt help at all.

I'm not really sure why because I do love Naruto and Yuji and all the others. But there's something about Ichigo's attitude of "lets just get on with it, I know what I have to do" that made him my favorite for a long time. The dub is so funny. The subs here sort of undercut some of the jokes (translation-wise), but I agree the dub nails all the jokes, and Johnny kills it right from the beginning as Ichigo. I feel like it took some of the other actors a bit to settle into their roles and not just play "typical anime character voice", but once they get into it, Bleach dub is pretty peak. The fact that the actors all speak the Japanese for their moves and swords elevates it, I think. The English localization team was great for this show.
