BLACK THUNDER

You guys are gonna enjoy this a lot. Masterpiece of a horror show. The storytelling is next level.

Jacob Martinez

This show is literally so freaking good

GBuckets

Ain't no way!

GBuckets

Make sure you guys focus on the background. You'll see alot of hidden scares on the background most people miss on their first watch

Rico

Jasmin☆

i haven’t watched this in years so this will be like new to me 😭😭

Jessica

hahah it’s gonna surprise you too then!! 🤣

Michael H

Yeeeesss I love the surprise drops

No Tap

Horror addict and I’ve stayed away from this show my whole life. I will be watching this if the Gek’s put this on my screen.

Ryan

NICE, can’t wait for October to watch this!! Jkjk. Personally I think this is one of those shows that kinda transcend its genre. Like even if you’re not a fan of horror/ghost stories or even if you’re watching it “out of season”, it’s an amazing watch regardless. Excited for this one for sure.

No Tap

Y’all need to Succ on Succession

Frosty

We’ve never been more back

Carrie

The book is very good, but you heard right, this show completely transforms the story into something new and on another level. Shirley Jackson is a master horror writer though

Michael H

This is one of the best shows ever made, in my opinion. Hope you guys like it.

Sav

Okay im ready for episode 2 please

zoe olea

OH MY FAVORITE LETS GOOO

Tyler

Looking back with hindsight man do I wish you guys watched this last fall rather than that trainwreck of a final season that stranger things was, so excited for this though!

joursh

@mckay you werent lying

joursh

WOOOOOO

Ella

This one is so good

Savannah

I can scarcely believe my eyes!!!!!!!

angerina

i'm counting the daaaysss hahahah

assaub

Top tier show right here, everything Mike Flanagan does is gold

Osiris704

21:40 Cannon predicting the future lol

Bourgeoisie

Does this mean Euphoria has a chance to make it on the Docket? 😋

Maeverly

I'm genuinely so excited for this. Because you guys are right, it's spooky, but with a good story and amazing cinematography. Also, the dad in the past looks familiar because he plays Elliot in E.T!

Miitei

I watched this last year with my baby brother, we are both very enthusiastic of horror, but this show surprised us in a good way. Usually horror movies/shows don't have the best writing so we went expecting your average hunted house story but it's really more than that. I didn't feel the horror was too much, but I'm not reliable since I'm use to it 😅 Thank you for suffering for our entertainment 🙏

John Paul

Never seen this show until now but that first episode was actually so good, I’m about to pull an all nighter and binge it in the dark 🥺

1999

Bro delete this

1999

DON’T READ THE COMMENTS THERE’S A SPOILER 😭

ainsley

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH WERE FINALLY HERE IM SO EXCITEDDDDDDDD

Miitei

It literally happened in this episode tho

ainsley

geks i’m so happy rn THANK YOU

Taylor Blackwell

Didn’t expect this one. I’m so here for it

Michael H

This show is the undisputed king of transitions, so get ready for some amazing scene shifts.

Sam

no fucking way... this show is absolute PEAK!!!!

Seda

OMG SWITCHED MY TIER IMMEDIATELY WHEN I SAW THIS UPLOAD!! i’ve been begging for this show on every poll you had for what you should watch next and i can’t believe the time has finally come. i really thought you’d save it for spooky season but i couldn’t be happier you’re watching it now🙌🙌

Melizé

Mama hold my hand, I'm scared 😨

Sav

Spooky!! Enjoy🥰

Kels

When I watched this show for the first time in 2018 it took me so long to finish it because I'm a huge scaredy cat. It's funny to see Cannon and Carter react the same way I did lol. I watched most of the show through my fingers but now I can just enjoy it because I know what's coming...mostly.

Aaaaaa

I… will not be watching this… until the sun is shining outside.

JevCor

Good luck fellas, I'll watch with you once the sun comes up.

alee

YAYYY! I hate horror and this is still such a good show to meee!

celery

Omg I’ve prayed for times like this 🙏

pineapplegreg

OMG YESSSSS! This show is so good! I binged this all in one sitting back when it first came out! I’m a big scaredy cat too but even then I was locked in!

jblakk

FINALLY. The Geks are back to prestige TV. Im locked in...(and ready to be spooked again)

ryejett

I just binged this again last month 🥰 absolutely LOVE that y'all are settling down to watch it 🙏 bless

ryejett

Also, ngl, this was literally the first time I haven't jumped out of my seat at the Nell reveal 🤣 that scene always gets me

Nana_44

Yes we finally made itttt anyaaa

Jellie

YAYYYYYYYY

Nana_44

This is the best thing everrrrr

kimwa

hill house fans we’ve been waiting for this ever since it appeared on its first poll.. WERE SO BACKKKKK

Monica Thompson

Omg you’re watching my favorite horror show wth😭

Loyd M

Mike Flanagan shows are like some Resident Evil sht.

Conk

We getting everything besides Breaking Bad

Brady

Best birthday gift, thank Geks Side note: I think keeping a reaction slot for short shows like this would be a good idea

John Paul

Wow people weren’t kidding, so many hidden ghosts in the background🤯 missed all of them in the first ep, creepy asf

Nana_44

Can we get ep 2? 🥹

Chayma

FINALLY

Chayma

My fav horror show 🥹

codesterr

YALL LISTENED!!!! LETS GO! MY FAVORITE HORROR SERIES

Kim 555

Cannon, I remember on the scary stories stream you said that you had an experience but you don't want to share it. We are going to extract that out of you one day.

codesterr

also sherlock was peak, it sucks ppl didnt stick with it

Andy tee

The only show/film to ever jumpscare me. Can't wait for that moment 😅

Paul Durbin

Oh look... another fantastic mini series... wink wink... nudge nudge...

Arctic_stark

Super excited for this reaction!! This is probably the best horror TV series ever. But it's also just a really well crafted story that can stand tall without the horror elements. Also a word on Sherlock, personally I love the show and your reactions to it. I'm just slowly making my way through the episodes when I have spare time on weekends. I imagine a lot of people feel the same since each episode is like a mini-movie and pretty self-contained, so you don't feel compelled to watch them in quick succession.

T.Yaseen

I hate scary shit why am I here lmaoo

Moonpowpow

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO also theo is the best

Rumaki21

Holy cow, I just saw you guys dropped this, welcome to the mike flanagan universe, this is a good series to start off with, were here!!

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

also the daario naharis call was crazy- ive literally rewatched hill house so many times + got several times as well, yet somehow never realized steven had the same actor- 😭 his facial hair and vibe is so different it literally never occured to me, thats wilddd omg

pineapplegreg

I hope y'all do The Haunting of Bly Manor as well!!!

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

also i now have hope that we may get other mike flanagan shows in the future too 👀 no pressure seeing as we literally just started this one obviously, lol - but id lk be surprised if u guys werent interested in seeing more of his work after~ tbh hill house is the peak for me personally (midnight mass not too far behind), but theyre all amazing and id love to see ur guys opinions on all of them and if ur favs vary, someday~

Mia Malvik ⚞ • ⚟

Ommmmgg I can't believe it's here. Genuinely thought you'd never react to this. One of my all time favs. Can't wait to watch tonight

Bourgeoisie

YES give us what we want

Kim 555

omg can we get a phasmophobia stream? lights off and all.

Rawaby 1204

Is this my birthday??? I was sleeping and stressing out for a long schedule today then i saw the notification 😭 i was so happy I couldn’t go back to sleep lol , so happy you are watching the show it’s really good and it keeps getting better! Also so glad you dimmed the light , i believe the room need to be darker cause in this show there are hidden ghosts that you can spot sometimes, but careful cause sometimes people try to find them to the point they don’t focus on the show lol

Jessica

This was Victoria pedretti (girl from you) first acting job jack!!

T.Yaseen

Just finished watching and yea I like that episode alot, it's more of a mystery than horror which I enjoy and prefer, so yeah I'm looking forward to keep on watching, also is Nell really cooked already that's sad 😭, and how did the father know hmmm

BipolarKitten

The last time I saw all of them screaming was in Severance “Woe’s Willow” episode. I’m hoping this show traumatizes them again for content 💀

Safaricat

FINALLY!!!! this has been on the polls literally since the beginning when you talked about doing movies or live shows. I think this was on the first poll for shows. we are finally here!!

SuperChuckABoo

It's been so long since I've watched this, I remember loving it though. Gonna get some popcorn and re-watch with you all. I remember almost nothing

Mack

Finally something I can enjoy 😎

Itzel

is this my sign to finally watch this show?

BipolarKitten

With them complaining other shows are too dark *cough AKOTSK cough, I don’t think they’re spotting a single ghost.

TawengGU

Yay! I love horror and I love this show. Too bad Flanagan is not with Netflix anymore. I looked forward with his shows.

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

yesss, so glad to hear u enjoyed it! i think that definitely helped make it more watchable for me too~ and ive rewatched it so many times since haha, so yk its worth it imo 🙂‍↕️ and righttt? 😫💔 also ooo, i like the questions~ i hope to see more of ur comments on the future uploads too, so we can follow the journey of another first time watcher! 👀

BipolarKitten

32:46 McKay: “It’d be awesome being haunted in your sleep.” The show supposed to scare us but McKay’s takes are way more concerning

pineapplegreg

Very good!!! A lot of the cast returns in new roles, and the story is fantastic as well! Less scary (imo) than this one but still very much gives the same vibe!

Safaricat

Shirley and Theo live in Boston. Luke, Steve, and Nell are around the LA area. Dad is in FL. Hill House is also in Massachusetts. I think you guys missed some of the locations since they were bouncing around a lot.

Poragami

the circus show now this? the selection is so random lol

Kim 555

It's rated high by both critics and viewers so I think so

Mack

Nah this is a good show

Mack

I do agree the circus one wasn’t my fav.

Brikena

RIGHT?!🤣🤣

Mack

Steve looks like he could be Mark Scount from Severence

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

Wow, what a surprise! I’m glad you finally watch this recommended show 🔥🔥

astra

So excited you guys are watching this!!

Fatipapi (Byakuya’s Girl)

I actually told carter recently that we were reading the book and i thought it lowkey sucked 😂😂 lmao

astra

Agree Bly Manor is fantastic!

Poragami

i would've wished for actual horror movies instead of a show tbh

Frida BØ

OMG!!! I’ve wanted you guys to react to this for so long! I’m so happy😭

bondbond53

When Life Gives you Tangerines?

Nana_44

Me too girl and I thought we would never see the day but here we are😭

LuvStarburst

Calm down you guys, it's just a movie and nothing is really scary about it. I expect you guys to watch horror stuff but in the dark. If you're gonna do it then do it for real. I will say watching this with a headset really makes the mood a lot scarier, which is what I need for horror-type stuff. If I hadn't watched so many horror movies as a child, the scene at the end probably would have scared me, but I expected it.

KenpachiKam

A) This should 100% be watched in a darker lighting.

KenpachiKam

B) This is genuinely up there for one of the best single season shows of all time, if not the best. It is scary it is heartbreaking it is comforting it is depressing.

JustADad 🟣⚫️

Sooo many, it’s really one of those shows that on a rewatch you catch soo much because you don’t have to focus on the foreground anymore.

Sage

I’ve watched this show twice and still haven’t found any ghost🤦🏽‍♂️😂. Maybe it’s my subconscious not wanting to be frightened💀

Jess

SO EXCITED FOR THIS. Have been wanting to watch for ages, but saw how much it was recommended on here, so I chose to wait it out so I could watch with you GEKS. The time has finally come haha and I couldn't be more ready!!!!

bearuber

yiipiiiieeeee !!!!!!!! we finally getting this huhu I've voted this on a poll they had back then but didnt win TT_TT

KenpachiKam

yeah ive rewatched this show no joke like 5 times and every time i do i am just so amazed at how perfect of a series pilot this is. Truly one of if not my favorite pilot episodes of all time. It's even better on rewatch of course but even on first watch its just masterfully done

Nene 🩷

Never hated the fact that my name is Nelly more until I watched this show 😭

k43t

pay attention closely guys 👀👀

radia boumechera

Omgggg finally I was waiting for you guys to watch this 😭😭😭

Michelle

i was so happy seeing this pop up

Michelle

im so excited to rewatch and see yall react to this

Cannon Andrus

Good thing we do horror movies in October

Jake

Oh my god I have been waiting FOREVER FOR THIS!!!! LFG

Dio

Weird take when this is one of the most popular horror shows

Poragami

Weird take saying weird take when i was talking about Movies not shows lol

Ayoodude

Happy Bleach day gang…see y’all later 🙏

Kyle

steve lowkey yoked wth I'd let him abuse my trauma for his books too

Kyle

hit him with the "ghost only appears when there's 2 ppl in the bed" 👀👀

Dio

What? You said you wished for a movie instead of a show. So you literally are talking about both, movies and shows lol

Riley

We need Band of Brothers after one of the live actions that are ending soon 🙏🏼. Look at my pfp--I know ball

izykyzi

I actively avoid scary shows and movies, but I’ve seen this show 5 times because it’s just that good! Excited for another watch with y’all and I’ll just suffer through the next several weeks of paranoia and fear 😂 it’s worth it

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I thought if I should watch this on my own first because none really scary stuff happened... Well except for the end. I will not be watching this on my own😰 I have seen enough scary stuff already I think

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I thought I saw someone moving in the window. Do you mean that? Maybe it was just the lady who owns the house though

k43t

yea amongst other things as well 🫣

Andy tee

Yeah, jumpscares just don't get me because they're usually so telegraphed.

kdez

Ayoodude

So many spoilers in this comment section

Frida BØ

Why comment this…

izykyzi

I know you mean well, but this is the kind of comment you leave later in the series, not on the first episode. Try to avoid spoilers, even mild ones like this

Ayoodude

The mom is fine af ..that’s all

Josie

Omg yessss my favorite TV show

Poragami

Yes, exactly, so why is it a weird take when i say that i would rather watch a horror movie INSTEAD of a horror show????

Poragami

i find horror shows in general extremely boring lol

Deji Jan

omgg i was hesitant to watch this one great

Carter D. Andrus

The return of jblakk 😤 havent seen you in a minute

mina

at least it's april🤣🤣🤣

Betsy

Wow I wasn't expecting this but thanks guys! I've heard good things about Haunting of Hill House. I'm ready to get scared hehehe 👀

mina

i watched this episode a few months back and it honestly scared me too much to watch alone so i gave up😂😂 guess ill be watching with you guys now

Rawaby 1204

Okay this is my first time to rewatch a reaction right away , it may be a side effect of no tangerine, can’t wait for the next one

Abigail Raposo

you guys should watch the hunger games franchise next!

a_daichi

OMG FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a_daichi

I've been watching another channel react to this for the past week and I was thinking "I hope the Geks watch this soon" my manifestation skills >>>>>

GBuckets

This isn't just a scary show, it's a very personal drama that touches on some heavy things; that's why it's so good. And it has crazy twists

a_daichi

I never watched it so putting that on my list

Nasia

Wait, what channel?

jrnoodles

Thank you! Never seen this but always heard praise for it. So here goes..

btrilly

FINALLYYYYY abt time u guys start reacting to GOOOD tv shows man , was getting tired of whatever the hell is getting voted for u guys to watch

btrilly

ptayed for times like this man i miss yall , hopefully we get more PEAK shows soon like vikings , succession ,or even movies. enough of the niche animes , kdramas

jblakk

Ayy ive been lurking. Yall got me watching shows I never thought id watch but this one got me back up out of my seat.

pineapplegreg

YES! I promise you won’t regret it!

Rebecca

omg im too scared to watch it betsy lol

Rebecca

okay let's not hate on the niche animes or the kdramas but succession, the bear, pluribus, the penguin, band of brothers - all goated, would love to see. Vikings, not my fav, but would be a great reaction to watch

Betsy

Awww it'll be okay Rebecca. We can be brave haha 🥺

E L

when is the next drop 👉👈

Yue

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY!! This series is amazing. As someone who couldn’t handle horror at all, this is the first show that really got me into it. The characters, the writing, I love it so much

Rawaby 1204

“Voted for you” is hilarious, dude they enjoy what they are watching and I know they can drop whatever they don’t like , you should stop thinking that they are forced to watch what you don’t enjoy

ainsley

rewatching already i’m too excited

Amna

IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!

btrilly

we would never see that with the k fan base they have now , if they keep doing polls on shows/movies to watch instead of just choosing PEAK we’re gona keep getting that slop

Penn

THIS SHOWWWWWW!! Haven't rewatched it in years!

Animeke

Turning out the lights and enjoying peak.

Patriicia

me too, I totally forgot whats it about and also Im kinda creeped out by out way more than before

mechuri131

love it when you guys watch a show i love cos then I have a reason to rewatch lol

Linn

Same! Been requesting it since the beginning.

Elle

OMG WHAT I HAVE PRAYED FOR THIS YES THANK YOU

Bubble Gum

Wow here for the ride.

icynub

Absolute cinema

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

“I watched Sherlock for me. But I am only watching this for you.” — That sounds like a threat, Cannon 😂😂😂 Anyways, I’m also not a fan of horror stuff, but I watched this show when it came out because of all the praise it was getting — and it was absolutely deserved! It’s definitely worth your time.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

I forgot how good this pilot is! I really think it’s one of the best horror series out there, but it also goes far beyond the genre. It’s the psychological depth and the family dynamics that make it so compelling.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

1:11:37 — “Let’s just watch episode 10.” Don’t be a rat, McKay 😂😂😂

S Moonchild⁷

chat will I be able to sleep after watching the show? I have never seen it

kri

guess you gotta find out

Ninja Hunter

Yes!! I love this show, time for a rewatch, love seeing all the Easter eggs throughout

Teri M

Resubscribed just for this. About time! Such a great series

Ellie

OMG so excitedd!!

SoloMio

I hope these guys do not read the comments. People say things that tips viewers off. It robs first time viewers of having their own experience.

Elf

shout out Borrasca author 😨

giselle

The dad is Elliot from E.T. 😭

S Moonchild⁷

first time watching, there were 2 people in the house when dad and Steve left. I don't know who were they, ghosts or what. A man and a woman near the staircase

Chérie

Why didn't they watch the other super dark shows in this dimly lit set up😭

DonDuh103

Just watched this with my mother it’s very good!

DonDuh103

I’m behind with y’all watching this gonna catch up.

parALICEis

I´m sad i wasnt here when you guys watched it but still iam SOOO HAPPY to binge it now XD
