This episode is so shocking and honestly really sad because Luke keeps getting worse by the hour, looking sick, pale, cold, and completely drained, to the point where it looks like he’s on drugs, but it’s happening at the exact same time Nell has just died. Her body is cold and starting to decompose, and those same symptoms start showing up in him as the hours pass. That’s the “twin thing,” they’re connected so deeply that even while she’s dead, he’s feeling dead inside, like he’s going through it in real time, which is why his condition spirals the way it does.

One of my favourite episodes, Luke’s actor did so great on this one , i got chills when I realised he was cold cause Nell’s dead body is cold .. so sad

I love the twins, look at baby Luke with his big glasses 😭❤️ This episode is really sad, seeing little Luke starting to realice at the young age of 6 that nobody believed him and that goes all the way to his adulthood just crushed me. Him getting colder and colder as Nelly's body was doing too due to her death breaks my heart, he just lost his other half 🥲

I’ve had several friends that struggled with drug issues. It sucked seeing Joey do what she did after seeing what a good, supportive person she can be because that is exactly how it is. No matter how good a person you are, addiction just switches your priorities, putting itself first above all else. Such a sinister disease that seems to chemically force a person to betray their own values and identity. It doesn’t excuse their actions but is tragic to see.

I’m loving these reactions so much!! such a good episode but so sad 😭 the writing is just so well done. I love how the show takes its time to let the characters and their stories breathe, and how it gives information gradually instead of spelling it out for you, which makes it more rewarding when things click. It makes every detail feel intentional and even more meaningful in hindsight and you can tell there was a lot of thought put into the dialogue. I also love how the horror never feels separate from the emotions. It’s definitely still a horror story, but I feel like it’s using horror as a medium rather than just trying to scare you, which gives the show so much heart 💗 I think my favorite episodes are 5 and 6 so I’m really excited for next week!! 🙏

In defense of the dad, it's really only Luke and Nell who are complaining about the spooky stuff. The elder three kids haven't experienced anything overtly supernatural during their stay at Hill House that we've seen so far. And small kids often say creepy stuff. Folks who regularly deal with small kids like nannies can tell you all sorts of really creepy experiences. At the end of the day most average adults would put that down to an overactive imagination. I literally remember being around 5-6 years old and telling my mom that I saw a person in shadows just standing in the corner of my room late at night. Happened atleast twice, its something that I actually remember. My mom was pretty freaked out.

I remember watching this show while my little brother was around 5/6 years old and he was also blond and had humongous glasses (way bigger than little luke) and this was definitely one of the hardest episodes for me. I’m so happy you guys are watching this, every Halloween I have been secretly wishing you guys will watch this show because it is as you have said, not just horror! It’s on my top 3 all time favorite shows because it is so well written and directed!

Mckay if you look at the dad's actions through the lens of the real world, where all this supernatural stuff doesn't exist, he would be out of his mind to give up on this gold mine just because his kids are saying the house is haunted. I used to say stuff like that to my parents when I was a kid and they did the same as the dad in this show.

I'm going to defend the dad. He isn't bad, he is probably one of those people that need proof before they just accept something, plus the mom had to agree to be there. Also, she isn't advocating for them to leave, even though she has probably heard the same things from the kids. So, it's both their fault and not just the dads. Sidebar: As someone who has helped raise kids with vivid imaginations it is hard to just take them saying they see something as gospel. It often requires much more questioning because you have to determine what is imagination and what is not.

omg this was so sad.. I feel so sorry for Nell and Luke, these kids man. I have 2 younger sisters and a bunch of cousins who are like 10 years younger, all of them. If any of them told me they saw a ghost or smt scary, I would believe it immediately. Even if it is imaginary, I would have believed it is something worth looking into. Like let's move your sleeping place, let me sleep with you, let's go pray or go to some shaman, whatever to make them feel better.
