His name is pronounced Ool-Key-Aura If you want you can also add a little rolling of the r’s on the aura to be a little more accurate. Kubo took a lot of inspiration from Spanish and Latin culture for the hollow related stuff if you haven’t noticed. “Menos grande”, “Hueco Mundo”, etc.

These introductory eps are kinda slow, but once it gets going, the only thing that keeps it from clearing the Soul Society arc are random episodes scattered throughout that are centered on side characters that feel like filler. Aside from that, everything else is between a 9 and a 10 for the entire arc. There are numerous moments in the Arrancar arc that are greater payoffs than in the Soul Society arc.

Going off of my thoughts as I watched this for the first time a few years back, these four episodes are a pretty great start to the arc. Isshin reveal is peak and the Shinji/Visored stuff was really interesting and I was excited to see what would become of that since Ichigo's hollow mask stuff was my favorite thing from the fight with Byakuya. Then Ulquiorra and Yammy showing up gave me Vegeta/Nappa vibes so I was excited to see what would happen. Can't wait for the rest of the arc!

I haven't finished the second episode. But just saying, ichigo are the only confirmed humans we know that have the soul reaper powers. For all we know his dad couldve been a soul reaper and was just in a gigai. The blond Visored duo could very well be souls that are 80 years old with gigais and just look like kids/teenagers. Just to put it into perspective a bit more, cause Jack seems to think the Visored chick is like 10 years old, which could still be true but also the opposite could be as well. Sidenote: I think it would be sick if Ichigo's dad was like Urahara's lieutenant or something, and when Urahara left Soul Society, he left along with him. They just seem very chill with each other and I think it'd be cool if that was the connection

i love orihime's power (the one that helps heal/reverse) but honestly the way her character is changing rubs me the wrong way, her voice acting to start with is becoming more and more pitchy I got as annoyed as Mckay on this one. Then the way she is drawn/portrayed as a "bimbo" even though her character started with so much depth in the beginning with her brother, her quirks, sense of friendship and courage but as the story progresses at this moment she becomes this helpless girl who is just around waiting for ichigo, nothing about her powers is growing as well, the only thing that grows is her boobs somehow i don't know what the animation studio is doing...this reminds me of sakura's character assassination

i get how people can feel Keigo being annoying. Some characters works alot better with speech bubbles than with audio. Otherwise, trust the story to give you info when it needs to. As youve noticed and stated yourself earlier, one of the things that sets this story apart from alot of other shonen is how it spreads out subtle (and not so subtle) information rather than dump expositions in one go. Its a long burn, but it just makes every reveal soooo much more rewarding when they happen.

It's a shame the Bount leftovers are baked in to the canon, they kill the momentum of this arc (At least the start of it). Thankfully they are completely phased out the closer you get to later arcs. I believe they don't even show up in the arc before the Thousand Year Blood War.

i'm not hating There are definitely a lot of peak moments in this arc. Maybe it's not entirely fair to compare it to the Fish-Man Island Arc, but compared to other arcs, this one was personally even harder for me to get through than Fish-Man Island because of the really slow pacing and the frustrating characters

We all like different things, so I get your view, but for me this arc is just on another level. The peaks are on a completely different level, and the pacing issues are only in small sections, not the whole thing. Honestly, I’d rewatch this arc ten times before going through Fishman Island once. FMI has way more characters that end up feeling frustrating and useless, while this arc gives me moments I actually look forward to.

Jack, I hear you and I agree with you. You have said multiple times in multiple arcs when the pacing of One Piece is bad or bothering you. So many people hear you complain about the same thing happening in a different show and just assume you don't feel that way about One Piece either lol it's not a "either or" situation. Both is true. Not all tropes are equal, not all comedic bits are equal. And it's entirely subjective on what works in the moment for each individual. One Piece is both funny and not funny. Bleach is also funny and not funny at times. They both suffer from the exact same issues lol both a product of their time. The guys will probably assume any character that's someone's favorite is super important but in all honestly a show as big as bleach with such a large, well designed cast has all types of niche characters people just choose as their favorite

One of the reasons I feel this way is cuz, although the OP girls are drawn a certain way, when they are actually assaulted/touched the girls reactions are obviously disgusted. And its shown as a not good thing. Whereas in bleach, sometimes its taken as joking? That its funny to sexually harrass orihime and call her names cuz she has big boobs. And then you have yoruichi purposefully assaulting/trying to make ichigo, a MINOR, blush. As a girl I dont mind how scantily clad (adult) girls look or dress. Having big boobs isnt the issue, But its the reactions and portrayals that get to me more (i dont know any real life girls who would act like yoruichi or be ok with the things they say/act to orihime. But i do know girls like nami, robin and all the rest). @jev I dont like the underage stuff for all Anime. But this is my feeling on average.
