Part 3 being considered the worst is definitely a recent contrarian hot take. It's Japan's favorite with part 5, and the part that made Jojo explode in popularity. You have to remember that people have very diverse set of opinions about Jojo. It's extremely rare to see the same ranking from different people. I'm curious to see what you'll think of it since it is my second favorite, and in any case, it's always better to go ahead with low expectations.

I mean... Part 3 isn't necessarily bad. It's a classic, and it's what made JoJo what it is today, but I PERSONALLY think the pacing is kinda annoying... Like, they could cut 10 episodes and nothing would really change... That doesn't make it bad, though.

Just rewatched part 3 since I’ve first seen it 9 years ago. I loved it then, but I’ve had my perception negatively swayed from common nitpicks about the pacing. The rewatch reaffirmed my love for the part. It’s paced just fine; pacing would be even better if y’all watched 2 episodes at a time, especially for certain ‘arcs’.

Part 3 isn't bad. In my opinion it has the best set of characters and quite honestly i feel like the jojo for p3 and p5 and then the entire squad from p3 are a lot of people's conception for this show's identity. It's pretty awesome despite the pacing issues (but u guys watch one piece so im not too worried)

I don't think it's that since part 3 is probably one of the best adapted parts with part 5. Part 4 and 6 though have real issues and most people I know prefer the manga version of those parts. And the pacing, well, when people mention the pacing as an issue SPOILER it's mostly a roundabout way of referring to the amount of filler fights the part has. Which are also present in the manga. The anime is def stretched out but it isn't a Naruto or One Piece type of situation. Relatively to the other parts it's slower but in comparison to other animes it's more than fine

I've seen a lot of people put part 3 pretty high on their rankings. I personally really enjoyed watching it. It has a lot of great characters, friends and enemies. It's also one of the funniest parts, maybe even the funniest. I won't say anything more about it beside that the major downside of this part is that its pretty slow at times, and you could remove a decent amount of the episodes and it'd be just fine, storywise at least. But if you go in with an open mindset and not try to be nit picky, you will have an awesome time. Also like everyone else already said, its recommended to watch at least two in one sitting, you'll understand when you start watching. This doesn't have to be two episode drops (obviously as fans we would love that) but at the very least please watch them in a single sitting. This is will make the slower parts much more entertaining and have a better flow.

Fun fact about George Joestar II (Joseph's dad). He has his own spin off light novel called Jorge Joestar. It's not canon and it's almost 800 pages long. I haven't read a single page of it, but I heard that it feels like some fanfic you read from someone on Tumblr.

Spoilers: While it isn't atrocious like other shows, it is definitely dragged out in the anime. Page count wise, every part post part 3 is longer, yet part 3 is 10 episodes longer in the anime than them. Animation wise, part 3 is definitely up there with part 3 for the best adaptation. However, it drops the ball on it's pacing

WHO tf is saying part 3 is the worst. Don't listen to them, they're genuinely stupid and probably got dropped in the head as a baby. Part 3 was considered the best part for a long time. It's the most iconic part and in fact it's the only part that got an adaptation way back in 1993. The only downside i can say about it is that it's overly long and and feels unecessarily stretched out, but you guys watch one piece, it's fine.

To echo others sentiments, part 3 isn't bad at all. In fact, it's a very crucial part of the overarching story. It's just that, for me, parts 4 & 5 are so good, they outshine part 3 narratively. Not spoiling or handsighting but the great thing about JOJO is that Araki is so good at giving each part their own identity and flavor, that's what makes jojo such a cultural icon. Jojo doesn't have a "marineford arc" or a "pain arc" that almost everybody thinks is the peak of the show. Other than part 1, i have literally heard different people say part 2, 3, 4, and 5 are their favorites. Part 3 is my favorite but obviously some people think differently. I don't like part 4 much but i have heard so many people glazing it. There is no bad or best JOJO part, each part has their own fans and haters.

Part 3 is just very different from the first two parts and some people love it some don't. I do highly recommend double drops for part 3 since there are many 2 part episodes + its the longest animated part (so far)

It might be considered mid relatively to the upcoming parts by many as of recently, but I've seen countless rankings and it's extremely rare to see someone post it behind part 2 or at the bottom behind part 1. And I'm calling it a contrarian take instead of speedwagonning because that's how people approached it, part 3 was always considered the most iconic part (without being the West's favorite either it still had a great rep) and people started out criticizing part 3 with the idea it was overrated. I've seen a lot of people do the exact opposite with part 6, where the part was always considered the lowest point of the franchise and since the anime aired people have been propping it up in reaction to that.

Digg That's what I said, the anime is stretched out and slower in comparison to the other parts. But what I argue for is that 3-4 chapters an episode is still great. We don't have a One Piece type situation on our hands where it's a tedious 1 chapter an episode adaptation. This pacing SC adopts used to be the standard back in the 90s, the 2000s and even 2010s. Rewatch Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Gundam, Monster, Durarara,... They'd be considered slow as hell in comparison to the extremely fast paced animes coming out today, but in reality they are perfectly fine. A slower pacing is not a big deal either, it's how you create a mood, intensity and put emphasis on certain events. So it feeling slow is more about the type of episodes we have + recent animes being just faster paced in general.

It could be cut by roughly half of what it is and it would be regarded as much better than part 1 and 2 combined. Just like with them watching bleach, if they would watch the filler bount arc inbetween they would view bleach as kind of mid too
