wasnt it twd today

Chris Ivory

Yooooo wtf, I thought we wasn’t getting this till tomorrow. Thank you, Geks! 🙏

csx

are we still getting twd today?

LeFlaneur

Unexpected early drop!!! I love how irrelevant of a rat Erzebet ended up being, like just being some prop for Drolta 😁

LeFlaneur

Thanks for watching the show. Hopes it does well on YouTube when you drop it there. Just saw a trailer for a new Castelvania game following Trevor and Sypha’s kid. Doubt there’s going to be a lot of overlap with the anime canon, but it looks nice though.

Seth Aasland

This really is making me want to re-read the Kane Chronicles books

LeFlaneur

Totally bought in Richter-Annette, beginning was a bit clumsy but they’re really top tier characters and couple now. I still have issues with Maria, but considering the setup and game stuff, I think there’s a lot that can be done. Disappointed in Mizrak getting turned, I feel like the show needs that upstanding character, he was already morally compromised by making night creatures so he’s more pure, but being a vampire is going to be too much, especially for a really devout Christian.

Rico

I can only pray Gurren Lagann replaces this

Kd

Brother they cooked so hard gah damn

GreetswithJudgement

Season 3 isn’t confirmed however there has been whispers about the next project/series for the game Symphony of the Night, considered the best game in the Castlevania franchise. And that’s Alucard as the protagonist, which imo, is highly needed. Him taking a backseat all the time, considering how OP he is, doesn’t sit right with me.

Sueño

Who's that little one on Cannon's lap. 😍 Sooo cute.

Hansen

A day early?

Garreth

Oh damn! Can't wait to watch this peak! Mudae has been distracting me from y'all's reactions. What have you done to me

Cannon Andrus

This was way better than I expected. What a finale!

Lapp

goat <3

Frizen

You can send your thanks to Sam Deats for animating the Drolta kill himself. That's why he's the GOAT. Symphony of the Night is the most popular and influential game in the series with it taking place a few years after this so that's the next logical step not to mention the dozens of other games in the series. If more Castlevania doesn't get greenlit then Netflix just hates us.

LeFlaneur

The Castlevania games set in modern times are not the most popular so I don’t think they will be adapted into anime.

LeFlaneur

McKay has to react to a Drolta supercut.

DarynkaD Bleach

Hi, Geks) Would like to suggest Hellsing Ultimate for the next Juicy poll

TheBookerDeWitt

No, I AM SEKHMET bro, you cant pick that character. Im literally already Sekhmet

Miitei

Devilman Crybaby please 😭🙏

Coconut

Well if Gurren Lagann is in the next poll ill be voting for it as promised

Kurofi

Drolta my goat!!!

GreetswithJudgement

Alucard aiding Richter by lending him his blade is so damn epic!

Kurofi

Richter swung that sword in honor of McKay.

Kurofi

Made me happy when they made Alucard an assist trophy in smash

Courage

Now we can get started on Monster 🫡😳

Elio

Please Slime or akame ga kill I’m begging you bro😫🔥🙏🏻

DonDuh103

I love seeing this kitty just going to one Gek to another😂😂😂

DonDuh103

Lowkey we watch Bleach and Jojo so name the kitty Jojo or Kon

DonDuh103

Juste say focus what’s inside your heart but bro she’s got demons in her heart😭😭😭

DonDuh103

Drolta is just a Kabuto wannabe that wants to be Orochimaru😂😂 We got Richter, Juste, Alucard as are Avengers, Maria became a Targaryen to summon a boxing dragon trained under Mike Tyson and are earth bender is going on a spiritual journey to become the next avatar and she can’t even find Korra😭😭

Kyle

watched when it first drop really thought we'd get another season with the ending 🤡🤡🤡 I need more

Kurofi

Go try it in practice mode! He’s the one that turns into a small colony of bats and attacks!

Kurofi

Akame Ga Kill or Samurai Champloo!

Pxssive

I agree with Cannon here like this was def better than Trevor vs Death. The choreography, Richter's facial expressions, him getting Alucard's sword and then straight mogging Olrox in the end was straight PEAK, i cant even imagine it being any better

Pod Rider

New team mascot!

Rico

Gurren Lagann PLEASE

GreetswithJudgement

Good thing I’m not alone in this as most Castlevania fans feel the same way but OG Castlevania is better in my opinion, and by a pretty wide margin. I enjoyed Nocturne. I liked the setting, some of the characters (Juste, Olrox, Alucard, and Richter), and especially the animation. Didn’t care for the story or the plot. They could have absolutely benefited for more seasons. But for me, the original Castlevania captured the feeling of the games much better. It had that grim, mysterious journey vibe with strangers traveling through a haunted world, trying to survive against impossible odds. Joining up in castles and weird ass places. Gross yet charming. The dialogue meant something and OG had more interesting moments imo. It felt like a poem or an epic. The atmosphere and setting felt just as important as the plot. Something special about and timeless about it. Nocturne had a tighter story, but I found its two main villains far less interesting, which hurt my investment in the overall narrative. We’ve seen it before with Carmilla and the whole “ruling the world nonsense” Everything about the final battle felt more like a traditional anime showdown which there's nothing inherently wrong with that because Castlevania still does action sequences better than most anime, in my opinion but while Richter destroying Drolta was undeniably epic, it didn't hit me emotionally. Nothing in this story and I mean nothing hit me emotionally other than Alucards return. This is where a lot of fans will defend Trevor vs. Death to the death. That fight carried so much more weight because of everything that led up to it and what was at stake for the characters. I wasn’t scared for a single character In Nocturne. That’s how unthreatened I felt by our villains which makes Dracula at his prime seem all that more terrifying because you’re simply not defeating him. Trevor being canonically one of the weaker Belmonts is part of why people fell in love with him. He wasn't the strongest; he was just the guy who always found a way to stand his ground in the face of impossible enemies. The spectacle in Nocturne was amazing but the original series gave me a much stronger emotional payoff and felt more like what I imagine Castlevania is supposed to be. Especially as a huge fan of the games. I was going to go into all of my negative thoughts, but honestly, watching it with the Geks usually helps me notice things I missed and appreciate parts of it more, so I'll end with this, Alucard is the GOAT.

walkman

I agree, I liked OG a lot more. I also was never scared for a character in Nocturne like how I was for the characters in OG

Navri

Peak finale. Also please consider adding Re:Zero to the Juicy poll

GreetswithJudgement

Just a fun fact for those who aren’t familiar with the lore, Dracula is one of the few video game villains whose defeat is built into the series' lore. Dracula is always destined to return so even when he is defeated, it's always only temporary. He is the embodiment of chaos and Death and Satan are his lap dogs. Also Dracula's castle is essentially a supernatural entity. It changes its layout, grows, and rebuilds itself after destruction, which is why each game can feature a different map while still taking place in Dracula's castle. Neat eh?

Daniella

I do like this show a lot but Castlevania OG is better imo. I enjoyed the creativity in each fight in Nocturne more especially with Richter, but I felt the weight of each character, their arcs, emotions and motivations, in OG a whole lot more. I appreciated the diversity with Annette and African culture, bringing that to western anime is very rare, but the rest of the writing in the show was quite weak unfortunately. Having a villain similar to Dracula would've made this show top tier, but the animation was absolute peak and I'm happy you guys enjoyed it! I'm going to miss my beautiful king 😔

GreetswithJudgement

I hope they continue with Castlevania. Even if I didn’t enjoy nocturne fully I love that we still got more Castlevania. It’s so underrated and it deserves more recognition.

GreetswithJudgement

Yea I think why Dracula worked as a villian is because he is the emotional core of the story. So he’s pure evil but he’s in love lol. Which makes it difficult to root against him. His motivations were also understandable and also he took it too far. In contrast, Erzsebeth wanted conquest and god like power so it was absolutely less engaging and less personal for me. Dracula wasn't merely an obstacle for the heroes. He was a character whose tragedy drove the entire story so yea, I’ll take that any day of the week. However to give credit to where credit is due, Richter is absolutely amazing on this rewatch. I didn’t give him credit before. Annette grew on me, still not a fan, felt the relationship was forced and Richter took a back seat to other characters at times, but her story with her ancestors was actually beautiful and well done. Juste and Maria duo I really like. Wish there was more. Alucard just being Alucard. When he said “Richter, my friend” was so genuine and heartfelt. There were many goods things about it and it did leave me wanting more of it so that’s a plus.

GreetswithJudgement

Some rivalries are written in the stars. Long live Jack's beef with Carmilla and McKay's beef with Drolta. A level of dedication most relationships never reach.

GreetswithJudgement

Daniella, I’m almost certain Alucard will be back. He’s the Castlevania poster boy!

Daniella

Exactly! Dracula was such a driving force to the story and world of Castlevania that they tried to, in verse, bring him back in season 3 & 4 lol 🤣 Not saying that they should've regurgitated him for this show, but a villain that wants to be "god of the world" has been done so many times it's just boring to me now. I just feel like this show needed a lot more fleshing out and room to grow with more seasons like OG did, hopefully they announce something :)

Daniella

I hope so Greets, him as the main character finally would be amazing 😭

TheSauceGuy

I'd just hope he'd show a bit more emotion as a protagonist, or let us hear his thoughts

TheSauceGuy

Chat, is Vikings or TLK Juicy Tier next possible!?

TheSauceGuy

Drolta is sick, idc what McKay says lmao. She's certainly cooler than Erzebet imo (she was a real person, btw). I don't get the hate unless you just want to see the main characters win all the time.

TheSauceGuy

Didn't expect Moonlight Greatsword, daaaaamn!

user216612

I would honestly love that, if they went in that direction

Dale Thomas

While we're on the topic of vampires, might I suggest Call of the night for the next poll....

rachel

geks with the kitten is so cute! she has such a cute face. had a blast watching this show with y’all

GreetswithJudgement

I’m sure they’ll do him justice. They already gave him more personality compared to his game counterpart. I think him giving a narration throughout the series would be so cool since fans are in love with his voice. I agree that we should hear his thoughts.

Dontsop Keran

Not the biggest drolta fan but you just gotta accept shes whooping Alucard 1 on 1

AvaRISE

Great finale, great show.

Vextipher

I tend to think of Nocturne to OG like I did Korra to ATLA, but worse off IMO. The adventure the first series have makes it stand out, grow with characters, and explore and there were so much from the OG that reflected game aspects while Nocturne barely had that if any. If it weren't for characters like Alucard, Richter, and Maria, this could be a different IP/name altogether. The setting as well does so much for battles and travel, seeing our heroes try and find a place to stay and simple logistics where modern locations don't have such restricted charm. Nocturne felt like people just end up wherever they needed to be, OG let the story flow through the world.

Vextipher

Yeah, hear his thoughts or even just HEAR him lol love the VA but I do wish he wasn't such a whisper all the time.

Vextipher

For one last time- Invincible could never. lol. Despite Nocturne falling flat for me, I do think it's end episodes had fantastic animation and moments for S2. I do not like some story beats or how things happen and felt weird how Tera was kind of left off to the side at the end, but it did have some really good aspects on a rewatch. S2 much better than S1, so hopefully whatever comes next can be even better than that. I disagree on Carter's take on OG at the end. S1 and S2 of OG are similar to S1 and S2 Nocturne. S1 gives us Dracula's/Erzabets threat and S2 ends them. S1 had 4 episodes of OG so it wasn't as involved and more setup but the threads are there when you step back. Granted I have watched it a lot lol. OG just had a lot of moving parts between it's characters.

Pod Rider

There actually is a Castlevania game that takes place in modern day, so that's always a possibility

Marcus

I NOTICED THE KITTY SOOOO LATE WTF

RoXas

Castlevania just has such a special place in my heart. It’s literally one of my top favorite shows to rewatch.☺️
