We concentrated on their application to compose with this horrific tension. For instance, we had to choose where to not have soundtracks. The tanker's layout was tricky since we had to animate the whole Stand. Personally, I appreciate the secretive and claustrophobic atmosphere of the ship. We also had the inevitable feminine nude scene that goes well with the horrific context (laughs). The orangutan is really an imposing animal. At first glance it looks kind of cute with its big eyes, but in reality it's a real pervert. Note that real orangutans are not this tall in real life. Just to add some explanation as to where Araki found the idea for this episode, from what I've heard its basically a reference to an old horror movie called "Link" where chimpanzees who were used in a scientific experiment get violent against a woman. Apparently there's a similar shower scene too. Doesn't make the episode less awkward but kinda explains what Araki was going for lmao.

Musical references in this episode: Enya the Hag is named after Irish singer Enya The orangutan is named Forever, a reference to the Wu-Tang Clan's album Wu-Tang Forever. Talking about the Strength stand, you will find out that there are several types/class of stands and Strength is in the class of stand that is visible to regular people. A majority of these stands are objects that are too large for someone to carry.

For some reason the anime added like 6 extra nude shots that all weren’t in the manga. For the majority of the manga fight she’s fully covered in a towel, so u can blame weird Japanese animation studios for this one. One of the weakest eps for sure but I’m very excited for the next couple fights.

Ahh, Strength. Sad that it's here, glad that it's gone. Definitely my least favorite episode in all of Jojo's. Main thing is that we see that animals can have stands, and some stands are able to be seen by non stand users. Excited for the rest of part 3, it's only up from here

i don't understand how people are so disgusted by this episode. nothing was shown. the girl was fine. Araki isn't sus for drawing what he drew cause nothing was shown. it's a story there are no ill intentions behind it. same people question this one episode but thing shinji in the hospital in evangelion can be excused. the tension and confusion in this episode is great. the comedy is funny. i would have felt more uncomfortable had it been a human. the ape is already imposing as a mammal so the added layer of learning from humans makes it scarier. the mysterioius vibe and eerie nature of the ship was done so well. Also trash humans who taught that ape horrible things. freakky ass ape. he probably knows he can't go back to the wild so he's preying on humans.

In any case, can't say I'm surprised by the way you guys reacted. As we've said in the previous episode's comments, this is the most awkward and sus Jojo gets. There's one other moment later on that gets into sus territory but it's really nothing in comparison to this imo.

Btw the name Forever is a pun. The utan in orangutan kinda sounds like wutang (as in wu tang forever). Normally this wouldn't be possible since wutang forever came out in 1997 but the orangutan wasn't named until a PlayStation port of a Jojo fighting game in 1999

This isn’t a spoiler because it isn’t actually stated in the show but Araki gave a couple interviews talking about jotaros dad. He is a renowned jazz musician who is constantly traveling the world so he wasn’t very involved in jotaros life. But that’s the only canon info we have about him. So there u go jack!

No plot point is furthered by showing some 4k buns and cleavage on a bloody child. Either Araki went too far and deserves heavy criticism or the animation studio is weird. I feel like this is very polarized. I myself am all for uncomfortable media, I like to watch a lot of disturbing movies/shows (like I've seen things that I cannot even tell people without feeling embarrassed) but I draw a line when it comes to children/young teenagers. I cannot watch kids getting hurt or or situations that show any kind of lusting after them, I know it exist but all I can do is warn people that may not want to see it too. Everyone has their own limits and that's not childish at all.

they don't show anything..... i would think it was weird if they showed something but she's in a towel sans legs and back but i guess because it's not the focus of the scene i don't spend time focusing on it. it's pretty much to show vulnerability which smart people would automatically understand but she's a character that is trying to be strong even though she's a child and on her own. everyone looking at this as weird to me is weird cause that doesn't even cross my mind because she's a child. when comparing to other anime and series with highschool age girls this is a very innocent portrayal and not weird. the scene is uncomfortable because of the ape not because of how she's dressed also the shower scene reminds me of Psycho in how it's drawn i'm pretty sure it's meant to mimic that horror movie-esque vibe not just an excuse to show a child naked like everyone is making it seem. if we got it from the ape persective it would put is in more of the aggressor perspective and the weight of the interaction would be different. like i mentioned before she's used in a lot of the framing scenes to show how oppressive the ape is and how vulnerable she is, they are used in opposition within the frame a lot same with how Jotaro is positioned between them the focus is on him and she's in the foreground Forever is in the background creating juxtaposition.
