Is anyone here willing to contribute their math/science skills? Because after the latest TYBW trailer/teaser, I started building a time machine in my basement. Waiting for the Geks to get to that ABSOLUTE PEAK is going to feel like sitting through 30 consecutive unskippable ads. At this point, I'd rather learn quantum physics from scratch and invent time travel myself. My anticipation is actually going to kill me. Personally, I'm just really excited for the geks reaction to the rest of Bleach and TYBW. I honestly don't care much about the pacing—I just can't wait to see what's coming. At least I'm not the only one waiting—we all get to suffer together. 😀

although there are parts of this arc that are boring/ badly paced, i give them grace because with how fast the anime caught up to the manga they did as best as they could. i prefer this over them pausing and giving another filler arc. and its nowhere as near as bad as the bount arc. the good far outweigh the bad so dont get discouraged

It's always unfortunate to see stuff to set expectations on the following episodes. While the comment holds truth in it but when comparing the pacing, which is the major issue what most people have (I assume), it's nowhere near as bad as some of the other shows. On top of that when it does happen it doesn't really last long. I do think it would be better if people didn't set expectations for the following episodes, meaning neither saying how good or bad the next episodes will be.

as a manga reader and anime watcher this part is definitely worse in the anime but its really not good in the manga either. It's still readable and can be enjoyable at times but its by far the lowest point in bleach. I would still rather watch this arc 100x before ever even thinking of rewatching the fourth great ninja war

To help out with the slowness of this part of the show, here’s a fun fact. I think a lot of people know about Ichigo’s first name, but his whole name is amazing in containing HIS ENTIRE CHARACTER DESCRIPTION!!! “Ichi - Go” can mean “1 and 5”, but can also mean “#1 protection” and also “strawberry”. BUT ALSO “Kuro -saki” can mean “black” and “Cape” (as in like a peninsula). But in English, that’s also a homophone that can mean “cloak” Put it all together and you essentially get: “The #1 strawberry (haired) fifteen year old in a black cloak that protects you (like a cape shields the mainland from a storm)” F$@#ing AMAZING!!!

This arc has some of the highest highs before TYBW and you will for sure enjoy it a LOT because some of the fights are 😮‍💨. But the lows (pacing) can be rough at times. My ranking for the arcs: 1. TYBW 2. TYBW 3. Soul society 4. Hueco Mundo 🙃 9. Everything else.

Yeah its a little slow in the beginning but its nowhere near as bad as some stretches I have seen in One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, or Naruto...when it turns back up though it doesn't really fall off again in quality for the rest of the series imo. The manga was a little slow here too but the anime definitely stretched it, they didn't really have a choice at the time. There's another massive filler arc upcoming that you'll have to skip for the same reason lol.

So is it not a spoiler to say the next eps are bad/muddy/ the worst etc? Pre-influencing how their expectations and reactions will be? That would be like saying(for example) the next x episodes are so good with fighting and epic battles then there are some backstories splitting the fight up so its kind of a drag. Then it gets good again. Can we not stop spoiling in all senses of the meaning?😩

To be short, the manga in this arc is one of the best I’ve read before. If it weren’t for the production issues with catching the manga and the poor pacing combined with unnecessary out of place moments, the momentum would have continued to build. It’s not bad by any means, but it will feel a bit broken up for stretches of this arc

The unfortunate thing about the Hueco Mundo arc in the anime is the pacing. Some of the episodes are 1/3rd recap. I hope you guys could do 3 episodes per batch when the recapping gets crazy. Edit: Hey Alexa M. R.

You just have to remember that, like One Piece and Naruto, Bleach came out in an era where the longer a series lasted, the "better" it was, whether it was the anime or the manga. My only advice is: let the story seduce you. Yeah, it's stretched out. Yeah, it can feel slow at times, but let the buildup happen. Those slower moments will only make the higher hit harder when they finally come.

at least you guys don't have to watch fillers. The anime was catching up too fast and this part of the show had an ungodly amount of fillers along with the already slow pacing of the show which completely killed the momentum the show built up since the soul society arc. Main reason why Bleach was the forgotten brother in the big 3

IMO the first 2 thirds of this arc is the lowest point of bleach due to pacing. Last third is hype even though some parts are a little drawn out. Once you get towards the end of the arc, episode wise there really isn’t that much to get through before TYBW so it’s really a light at the end of the tunnel. There are some huge songs in this arc also

As a manga reader, I enjoy this arc more than the Soul Society arc. I know, it's a hot take, but I prefer the fights with real antagonists and I like the highs of this arc more than the highs of Soul Society. Unfortunately, the anime has its pacing problems... especially when there's so many breaks for filler episodes.

You aren't even in the difficult pacing and you're already having a negative reaction, you're letting yourself be coloured by the comments. its literally hindsight merchants, watching for the first time unless you read it we didn’t know what was coming next. don’t let people telling you how its going to be colour your reaction.

I want to add a small suggestion for this upcoming arc's reactions that many folks have already pointed out in their comments. Considering the pacing is unfortunately a bit slower, some segments go in 3 episodes, especially at the later part of this arc. In fact, I believe the finale of the first half is 4 episodes. After watching many Bleach reactions, it's just odd when reactors add the end of one segment with the beginning of the next one, to maintain that 2 episode per reaction quota. It would simply be a better watch experience for all of us if we could avoid that. Of course, nothing is mandatory... but if there is someone supervising your Bleach content, they could possibly tell you in advance what segments are 3 episodes, then you guys can decide if you wanna change anything.

So in the manga it essentially has them appear in the underground hallway then almost immediately get confronted by the big guy that chases them into the open room so all the trap stuff was filler. It was painfully obvious how the scenes were stretched out but I still found them enjoyable nonetheless. I think once we're through this arc you guys will look back and pick out pacing issues here and there but for the most part it will be really tame compared to a few anime you've seen

As someone who watched Bleach on Adult Swim the pacing literally killed me. One second you'd be about to start an epic fight and then the next day they would start the entire series over again. I shit you not as soon as they got to a good part the next batch of episodes would be episode 1 and 2.

It's hilarious how many people are ranting when everything you're ranting about hasnt even fucking happened. They already apparently don't like this part and bleach's Spongebob and Patrick haven't even introduced themselves. I'm so tired of normies being shocked at bleach having comedy even though it has ALWAYS been an action/comedy. Like any of the many similar anime. People are even self aware, they can watch literal HUNDREDS of episodes of comedic one piece filler but turn karen at 1 1/2 episodes of the plot slightly slowing down

As someone else pointed out, pause on the frame with all the espada sitting at the table and by design and demeanour try guessing each rank. Afterall as stated the espada rank are based on strength so it would be fun to see. So far Grimmjow and Yammy are the only known ones. Also remember episodes 147-149 is filler.

I agree the filler/bad pacing in Bleach isn’t that bad, people should just enjoy the chill episodes especially since Bleach has been pretty good at staying on track of the plot out of the big 3. But only thing I’ll say is one piece doesn’t have hundreds of filler episodes it’s less than 100. It has the least amount of filler out of the big 3 about 10% or less. Understand if you were being dramatic and you probably mean the pacing of anything which One Piece does have the worst out of the big 3.

I like the arc as a binge, but as single episodes it can feel very slow and at some times even bad. Watching more episodes each sitting usually helps.

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Back then, this is definitely preferable. But now, when you can wholesale skip those filler arcs, this kind of stretching/padding episodes for time is far worse because there is no option to skip it. Edit: Just saw the date you put better. Yeah, that sucks that since you were new to anime, you didn’t realize what was going on (happened to me too tbh), but anime is so popular these days that figuring out what is canon and filler is pretty easy. I just like filler arcs because they are skippable.

They can't make a platform to "walk on air" because hueco mundo is spiritually dense. They cant control the spirit particles as freely, like in Soul Society In the human world it's less dense so they can make a platform

36:22 What's REALLY interesting about the Hollow lizard is that it implies that anything with a soul could technically become a Hollow. We know that Hollows can form when a person lingers for too long as a spirit in the human world because of attachments or unfinished business. Imagine if that Hollow lizard was a pet that loved its owner but died and stayed in the living world for too long. Not sure if that's in the ballpark of the truth, but it's fun to think about :D

I don't understand why you guys are ok with one piece comedy moments during serious arcs, and not ok with bleach comedy. During both Ace and robin's rescue there were lot of comedy moments that deviated from the seriousness, its the same with bleach guys, stop being so nitpicky.
