This episode T'd up episode 6 in a big way. It did all the build-up so that episode 6 can explode. Oh, and to answer yalls question about who those guys are who are killing the city watch. The main guy you see sending letters to Ormund was one of the city defenders who Alicent told to not man the scorpions. He curiously has two different eye colors. PS: IM SO GLAD they didnt kill off Tyland. I was confused at first where and how they were positioning some of the characters on the map in context to where they must be but now its all starting to settle in and the chess board is being positioned.

Idk why Cole gets downplayed as a warrior. Now idk about “greatest warrior alive” but he was said to have real battle experience when he first appeared. And Aemond, who’s clearly a beast with the sword, was taught everything he knows by Cole. Yes he only beat Daemon in a joust/tourney duel, but it’s the only real 1 on 1 fight Daemon’s had in the show. Yet Daemon for some reason gets put on a higher level off of what, aura and beheading unarmed men?

Actually diabolical of them to do a "last supper" scene with their bodies. There are still men loyal to the greens. The man at the tavern was there when Alicent said to open the gates. It would be easy to surprise attack the gold cloaks because they wouldn't see it coming from their own.

Cole might actually be correct about being the best warrior alive at this time, atleast in 1-v-1 combat. Daemon is the best jack-of-all-trades though. Top class swordsman, dragonrider, war general.

I wish Rhaenyra would just listen to Daemon. Even just in this season, he asked that the money he got from the Vale be used to pay the Gold Cloaks, and he suggested they destroy the Hightower army. If she had destroyed the Hightower army and taken Ormund hostage half her issues right now would be gone. She would save so much trouble for herself if she just followed his advice. Rhaenyra is oddly harsh when it comes to personal stuff around her (especially when its concerning issues of her kids parentage) and that is causing her to alienate allies like Corlys. But shes oddly lenient to her real enemies when she would be better off being harsh.

Here is my take when it comes to Rhaenyra ruling its not that she bit off more than she can chew, her enemies kinda hoe'd her before she took the crown. Like upon sitting the throne, the small folk were starving and broke (partly due to her blockade), ALL of there funds were taken, The Rich hoarded everything. She fr came into power with countless problems that she immediately needed to fix. Jack was saying her enemies needed to be taken care of and honestly they arent even her biggest problems right now. Alicent and Halena are currently prisoners, Aegon is recovering in hiding and wanting to kill aemond, Aemond is recovering with a witch. Sunfyre is dead, Vhagar is gone. Ormund is the only one making moves and he JUST started doing so Even the Gold cloaks, they are as loyal as they are mainly because of Daemon's goodwill with them. like they are getting picked off and felt unsafe, but 1 speech from daemon and they were like "you know what yeah daemon has our backs". on top of all of that she has what 3-5 people on her small council. - Corlys who is the hand and currently acting like a child (Rhaenyra never told him no about legitimizing his kids, just not at the moment due to the issues she is already needing to deal with. He started acknowledging his kids 5min ago as well and is only wanting to legitimize them cause he feels bad lol. Corly's has bastard kids cause he cheated on Rhaenys, Rhaenyra has bastard kids cause things didn't work with Laenor due to his sexual preference that Corlys KNEW about and wanted him to marry her anyway) - Daemon who has to deal with keeping his gold cloaks in check AND dealing with whatever task Rhaenyra throws at him and trying his best to not kill everyone who opposes them without direct consent from his wife the queen lol. - Mysaria who just be doing whatever tf she does lurking in the shadows lol not sure what all she contributes tbh (Also, i feel like Alicent wasn't instilling doubt in her but moreso confirming it if that makes sense. like Mysaria thought she was gonna be the one to stand by Rhaenyra's side when in reality it was ALWAYS gonna be Daemon. Visery's knew that, Alicent knew that and its just unfortunate that Mysaria thought she was gonna be able to get in-between that (no pun intended lol). i mean shit Rhaenyra cheated with her cause she missed Daemon in the first place lol) - The Maester who is doing the best he can with what he is being given tbh - Mandely who just got hired 2 days ago lol and a new hire that came on today Like she is probably in the WORST position (at least that I've seen) out of everyone who has ever sat the iron throne in this verse. Its not even a matter of people doing things without question, its more like she needs to solve a problem without another one being added to her plate

Dont even get me started on that lol This show might as well be called House of the Dragon: "Daemon was right" We wouldn't even be in this dire situation if people just listened to daemon in the first place - S1 Ep10, he was working up plan to kill all the greens and take kingslanding but was shut down cause Rhaenyra wanted to play nice - S2 Ep1 or 2, Daemon wanted him and Rhaenys to go surprise attack Aemond and Vhagar TOGETHER, but of course she shut it down lol - Then like you mentioned with this whole ormund situation lol There are instances even during Visery's reign but we don't need to get into that lol

As much i don’t like him, Larys absolutely clocked Aegon’s shit. Everything he’s done up to being burned has been of his own detriment, yeah his parents weren’t the most attentive or loving but he could have risen above that and been better. I do see him coming back to Larys despite what he said as the start of his “redemption” and i think Sunfyre is definitely alive (he looked very much not decayed unlike Meleys). Their dynamic as well as Rhaenyra and Daemon’s are my favourites :)

Hot take (maybe): i really don’t like Mysaria as a character. I know people shit on her accent lol but aside from that i don’t see the point of her being in the show. Her competing with Daemon for Rhaenyra’s “attention” means nothing to me and just makes her look incompetent as well as highlight the bad writing around her character. She’s just kind of there to hammer home the whole “smallfolk are hungry” stuff and yet can’t figure out where Aegon or Aemond are, even though she’s meant to have these spies that informs the queen everything she needs to know! Fair enough if she doesn’t have a vast network yet, but i would rather watch her rebuild that as a minor character, than her find out Helaena is pregnant and potentially think about betraying Rhaenyra. It just feels like a waste of screen time. I don’t want to compare her to Varys but considering the man found and tried to have Daenerys killed in s1 from all the way across the narrow sea, also Jorah was basically working for him as well during that time. It just sucks she’s not showing that same potential :/

Rhaenyra’s return to the city, with the treasury gone, the people starving, and the Gold Cloaks dying, is such a mess. If I were in her place, I would honestly lose my mind. 😭 I think one of the main reasons she still feels this way is that getting the throne didn’t ease her grief. On top of that, everything happening around her is overwhelming her, but she is a queen now and cannot ignore everything else that’s happening.Also, Alicent telling Mysaria that Rhaenyra and Daemon are two sides of the same coin, no matter how much Rhaenyra tries to deny it, was true. They have different beliefs and different ways of dealing with things, but they are also very alike. In the first season, they were very similar, especially young Rhaenyra, but as she grew older, she started seeing things differently. Still, I think she is going to reach her breaking point, and maybe that side of her will finally come out

I certainly agree with Larys' reality check for Aegon, but I think him calling Aegon a terrible man is sort of hypocritical considering his past actions. Aegon is also very young, and it's not as if he cannot change. I think Larys obviously intended to spark change in him through that reality check though. I'd argue Daemon is a worse man than Aegon, but a lot of people may not like that opinion lol.

I think its because youre (rightfully) looking at it through a moral lens. I think Larys meant hes a terrible man because he had no gumption or will to be more whereas compared to Larys who was held back, exceeded his own means. Larys sees greatness in cunning and resolve, not morality.

This is definitely a stretch lol. While some of Daemon's plans might've worked better for Rhaenyra, he has caused a lot of problems as well. You also forget that just because Daemon's ideas might prevent one predicament, that doesn't mean that they wouldn't create another.

I mean, after this show is concluded, isn't it just the Dunk and Egg novellas that'd spoil them? How much written material on Aegon's Conquest is there? Only a few major points I can think of, and probably not ones that haven't already been said in the shows, although the Geks probably don't remember anything.

I think my favorite moment of the season will be in the next episode heheheha. It's gonna be interesting to see how they pace the next season and where they end it, as the pacing throughout this show has been chaotic lol. Fire and Blood actually has some potential plot holes, and I wonder how (or if) the show will address these.

The relationship between Aegon and Aemond is so different in the show than it is described in the book. I mean, a lot of relationships and characterizations in the show are very different, but they definitely leaned into this one.

I don't like her much either, but she was definitely most tolerable as a champion of the smallfolk who was against nobility regardless of which team was on the throne. It feels a little unrealistic for her to be swayed by Allicent, but I'd definitely prefer her in the White Worm role again instead of sitting in the small council meeting waiting to get Rhaenyra to help the city.

I mean thats the kind of thinking that leaves you in a permanent bind. Its why Viserys and Rhaenyra are such ineffective rulers, they overthink everything and cant act at all until its too late. At the end of the day as a ruler you have to take the best possible action based on the information you have. The worst thing you can do is refuse to wield your power and give away the advantage. Daemon's advice is always to take the enemy's assets off the board completely, whether its killing Vhagar or destroying the Hightower army. Whatever fallout you may have from this, you would have undoubtedly made your position stronger with each move.

As for the conquest we all know he ends up conquering them except for Dorne lol but ig it's the build up and battles that they wanna see played out on screen first? Like they didn't know anything about Meria Martell so things like that ig? Yes they probably forgot stuffs from got lol there's something I wanted to comment but I didn't want to spoil but maybe I can ask you because it seems like you've been with the channel during their got days. This was an interesting episode. I agree with a lot of other comments on here. Rhaenyra was not set up for success and she definitely thought being a ruler would be different, but I think she was also unrealistic in thinking that it would go smoothly. She is lucky to have Daemon, but she doesn't utilize him well. Yes, finding Vhagar and Ahemond is important, but when your city watch is dying you need to figure out what's going on. And now I think all or at least most are dead. I liked Ser Luthor. Said to see him dead. I thought Mysaria was going to be more interesting than she has been. Her feelings for Rhaenyra are definitely holding her back. I agree that it was dumb of Alicent and Heleana to nor prop the other door open. If I found some random passageway in my room I would be making sure I had a way back out. Curious to see how they get out of there. I am glad that we didn't get too much of Aemond hallucinating. We saw some parallels with Daemon, but so far it wasn't overdone. I thought she was hiding Vhagar as well, but I guess it's hard to hide a dragon. Larys was 100% right about what he said of Aegon. His parents were a big part in shaping him, but he can't just blame everything on everyone else. He needs to take responsibility for himself and start thinking instead of acting first and thinking later. I am excited for the next episode. I feel like we will definitely be seeing another battle soon or at least I hope there is one before the season ends.
