I'm loving the big brained, philosophy Gek session in the outro - a sapiosexual dream. Thematically, this show is a character study of what defines human nature. Like Cannon said, our existence is based on a series of choices, each with varying consequence - ie leave a mark on society, procreate, procrastinate. All actions, whatever the outcome, still lead to the us sitting on the same toilet; and entering the same graves. Not to be nihilistic, but life is a journey of chance encounters, good / bad times; and shared memories that collectively define our human experience.

The emotion has to be protectiveness They can fear for their own life, worry over things and have more basic emotions. But they lack emotions that translate to involve others. Protectiveness of another, love, compassion though unlikely.

god what a cliffhanger of an episode to end on... I want to say something that may be controversial to the anime community SO BAD but I have to wait until next episode also Mckay living in Australia honestly isn't as crazy as it may seem, sure we have a wide range of animals and lots of dangerous ones but the thing is the country is MASSIVE and a lot of the animals are only spotted in certain regions so it's not like I'm going to walk outside today and see a snake eating a baby kangaroo while a crocodile walks across my lawn lol, living in a suburban area I rarely even see spiders let alone snakes, kangaroos I only rarely see when driving to another town, even a lot of the animals we're known for like Koalas, Emus, Crocodiles etc I've only ever seen in zoos

Australian here who lives in the country (3 hours north of Melbourne), spiders are pretty common and Kangaroo's are always getting hit by cars, and there is a snake every so often. Rarely ever see Koalas, I've spotted a couple of Platypuses. Thought I'd chime in a lil for McKay :)

It’s funny because humans throw off the balance all the time haha. And even invasive animals, it’s our fault for putting them there. We destroy the environment, pollute, kill each other, etc. but at the same time, we can really band together to fight against a common enemy or threat. Humanity can be as equally inspiring as it is threatening. While our intellect has made lives easier and longer it’s also created wars, hate, etc. The questions of “what are we, why are we here?” Are so interesting too, because it can really mean a lot to different people. I think a slightly more interesting question is at what points do we decide as a species that other species are “worthy”? Their intellect, their ingenuity? Idk I’m far too dumb to put this into words lmao. But like I wouldn’t put the life of an ant on the same level as that of a whale. I would eat a pig but not a dog. It’s just interesting that we’ve made all the “rules”. I really think there is no secret purpose to life that we will ever find as an absolute answer for all humanity. But not in like a sad way, like in a way that we are just lucky to be able to experience it and that while yes, we have stupid shit like bills and things to worry about, politics, etc. we should really be trying to make as many good memories and cherish those around us, and cherish the world around us to live fulfilling lives. Use our intellect as a species to provide for all life. Truth is most of us won’t be remembered after a couple generations in our respective family lines or leave some legacy behind. So I think getting too hung up on trying to find a grand purpose, can be debilitating for some, or the fears of eternal hell, stopping people from living truthful to themselves or missing out on more fulfilling lives. Or even feeling like the purpose is to get married, have children, work and that’s how you have a fulfilling life, even if that doesn’t match up with what you want. I’m sure there are countles examples of expectations or paths that we should all follow that can limit us as individuals and even hurt us. Because we are unique and can’t all fit into a box or a singular purpose. And these things can make figuring out “what’s the point” so scary for some people, when I think, “well there is no point. You make your own purpose, you can follow one of those paths or you could not. You decide what is important to you, you have the freedom to be the person you want to be (within the constraints of circumstances obviously). Don’t get me wrong, it’s a super interesting thing to talk about but for me personally I can be okay with “there doesn’t need to be some deep meaning behind my existence, my LIFE is special enough, and the ones I care about are special enough.” I believe we live for those around us and hopefully leave something positive as a collective for those who come after and then we go back to earth or wind or whatever and that our only purpose is to live and find those smaller (in comparison to how small we are to the universe) purposes and experience the joy those things bring. I do however think we as a species have a responsibility to our planet and each other. Sorry for the ramble haha. I could yap about this kinda stuff for ages!

Same here. I watch Patreon thru AirPlay on my Roku. It only happens when I want to watch Geks’ videos. The other creators I pay, their videos play fine on my 4k TV thru AirPlay. You might want to use Screen Mirroring on your iPhone and use AirPlay to your Apple TV. I’ve been using Screen Mirroring.

Yeah the screen mirroring works but unfortunately doesn’t fill the screen like airplay does, but I guess it’s better than nothing
