Luffy has always had insane emotional intelligence with understanding who a person really is, even if that person's actions seem hostile towards him. It's been his core character trait since Romance Dawn when he met Zoro, and is shown in pretty much every arc since, especially in the ASL flashback when he chased after Ace for months and months even though Ace was being a complete asshole to him lmao. With Haki being explained, it's clear Luffy has also always had a strong latent trait of observation haki with being able to sense the emotions or true nature of others, similar to how Queen Otohime in Fishman Island was able to understand people's emotions.

Personally i dont think there's any connection there. I think its just a common old man beard style that oda uses. But I'd guess its possibly just a tribute to master roshi. Also now that i think about it, in og dragonball master roshi entered the world martial arts tournament under a disguise, and as we see here luffy is also in disguise in a tournament.

I think the reason Oda is pacing himself is because he knows the story still has a good chunk of years to go. I would say there's at least a minimum 200 chapters to go still, to cover the remaining arcs. Final War will probably be 100 chapters alone when it happens which is ~2-3 years worth of chapters. Gonna be crazy times.

I had never seen some of these arcs until some reactors starting watching them. I have to say if you go by the manga most of the arcs pacing are fine but the Anime really does drag some of them waiting on new chapters to adapt. One pace is a good stop gap but I'm really excited for the new remake to fix things.

McKay idk if you know this but out of all the houses ALL of Hufflepuff stayed to battle Voldemort in the battle of Hogwarts, May2nd 1998 never forget. There have been plenty of famous Hufflepuffs who have held high positions at the ministry as well as written books and acheived a great many things. They have produced the fewest dark wizards in comparison to all the other houses. I think a lot of our bad rep comes from the had song stating Helga took the rest but i actually love that because so many people doubt themselves and the houses judge you based on their superficial scaling of potential however Hufflepuff accepts anyone for who they are and treats them no different. Plus they're homies with the house elves since their dorm is right by the kitchen. Even Tonks is a Hufflepuff

Absolutely love Cabbage. He just makes me laugh with his antics lmfao. Unpopular opinion, but Dressrossa still made it into my top 5 with the regular anime pacing. Sure, I was binging it, but I still wasnt hating the episodes as they were. I think the more yall disparage it, the more their expectations for that thing to suck grows. I've watched two reactioners before them react to the regular pace and even when they pointed out the pacing people talked about, they still loved the heck out of the arc.

The intro HP bit was hilarious! I totally get it that at that time being a Hufflepuff was a tough one. But the older I get, the more I appreciate them. They are really good hearted and care for their people. They ARE the community. Griffindors are a bit too "Hero syndromesque". i wouldn't say dofflamingo is a favorite character of mine by any means but i really fucked with him heavy at this point of the story just cause he's living up to his own hype. he was introduced and teased so early in the story and now we're finally seeing him in full action and every new detail about him that gets revealed made me more interested in him. like him being a celestial dragon hello??? and his personality type is so intriguing and terrifying all smiling and laughing but they dont reach his eyes and he quickly switches from jolly-fake jolly-angry is so scary. we've seen it with his call with law where he game doffy that ultimatum. every detail makes this man so fascinating and raw

exactly !!!!! i love doffy for his laugh alone, for his epic speeches back in jaya & marineford, and his dynamic w the crew with how he "cares" for them, the way everyone calls him "young master". everything abt his epithet too; being dubbed as the "heavenly demon" and all the celestial dragon lore. he is not only evil asf but one of the most well written villains imo that's been teased since the end of alabasta. plus his character design is fire!!!! and this is me solely basing it on everything we've seen up until this story
