I wish you guys could understand just how great this stretch is, you'll only understand it when you get to TYBW 🤷🏾 Usually I don't like setting expectations for anything, but it's one of the only arcs where I genuinely believe that no matter how high you set the expectations, the reality will still blow you away. To me it's one of the best shonen arcs of all time, especially after what I've seen so far in this cour... it might be in the top 3

Yeah, I think it was in 2024. I really disliked the excuses people were giving me when I told them that if the Geks started now that they would be watching Bleach when cour 3 started... now we're in the middle of cour 4. All the manga readers knew that cour 4 was gonna be mostly new content.

Mayuri is the goat!! The perfect deus ex machina. He'll always pull something out of his ass that we will never get to see be made beforehand, but so entertaining to the viewer that we wont care The superhuman drug is a perfect example Its interesting creative and makes the fight more memorable and captivating. And it doesnt solve the problem immediately. We go through a back and forth between the characters and only then does the drug get introduced. And its not a perfect counter like negating szaileporro's ability to resurrect. It over stimulates hes senses and makes his death a living hell

Both are delivering two of the greatest anime seasons I have ever seen, but the review-bombing is just so annoying from both sides. People just don't wanna share the success, smh

Glad you guys like the psycho mayuri, I really like him cause he’s honestly a reminder that soul society really isn’t heaven and shinigami really aren’t just angels with swords. Yeah, he’s on our side, but he’s also a pretty despicable person who will happily maim and torture people in new and inventive ways just for research. I *do* wish they focused on that more, like Uryu shouldn’t be used in a joke-y scene with him here given the reasons they fought in SS, but still. Banzai is basically "hooray" and Bakudo 81 translates to "severing void" I loved Mayuri since the first time he appeared. I loved his sick twist on how he views the world. Resurrección within bleach basically translates to "Returning Blade" And Mayuris Bankai if I remember correctly translates to "Golden Leg-Cutting Jizo"

BANKAI - Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo!! One of the toughest, coldest voice ever. Mayuri will always cook since he's Kubo fav character haha. Also, it's kinda funny that Cannon mentioned that espada thinking he's an emperor or something, then he later screamed "Banzai" to Aizen. Japanese people used to scream "Tenno Heika Banzai" (Long Live His Majesty the Emperor) before doing a banzai charge or kamikaze (one-way trip).

The way that Mayuri killed him is legitimately the most diabolical horrifying way to go that I have seen. Dude was forced to watch himself get murdered in slow motion over the course of thousands of years, stuck in a state of paralysis. I would definitely say that match-up was a big part of Byakuya's fight. Him having his bankai be millions of blades is the perfect counter to the 7th espada. Anyone else and he probably woulda won with relative ease.
