Any Bleach fans sell me on Bleach without spoiling anything? I watched episode 1 and it completely turned me off lol. Please explain to me how it is anything more than humanoids killing monsters + drama amongst the humanoids, what exactly is the appeal? Like if I was saying this for AoT instead of Bleach, you'd probably tell me something like "you literally could never guess what the reality is and where things end up, the amount of twists and turns is insane, it's not just humans vs big zombies". Please someone do that for Bleach because I just can't watch it unless someone gives me a good pitch lol Edit: I'm not dissing Bleach yall I'm literally begging for a reason to watch it, I have never seen anything like it before and genuinely couldn't envision what the appeal was. Apparently my first impression was accurate, but my impression IS the appeal, which was hard for me to understand

You see DIO using Jonathan's stand earlier in the part to produce a spirit photograph. It looks similar to Joseph's but it has been confirmed to be Jonathan's unnamed stand that you only see once.

I mean if it doesn't hook you then don't watch it, lol. Especially the original anime has tons of problems and it's pretty long so if you're not interested in watching it then there's no reason to watch over 200 episodes of it. It's also not AOT, it's a 2000s battle shonen at heart so the plot is pretty straightforward. The good guys fight the bad guys. Still it's getting extremely high reviews in its latest seasons, a bunch of 9s and 10/10 episodes.

I really wouldnt say people are "spoiling" the latest Bleach episode. I would say that people are talking about the new Bleach episode online. It did get a 10/10 on IMDB and was the highest rated episode with over 20k reviews. Unfortunately, Re:Zero and MT fans have review bombed the episode to a 9.8

Bleach ain't AOT. It's got a pretty simple story overall. People with powers fighting hollows and other people with powers. They fight the villains and win and then stronger villains show up, rinse and repeat. It's worth sticking with it if you like the characters or the author's style. If you don't no reason to force yourself, you aren't missing out on a generational legend of a show.

Its a battle shonen from the early 2000s. It inspired current shows like JJK and Demon Slayer. If you dont see the appeal of those shows then you wont see the appeal of bleach. Its about cool people having cool fights with cool powers. It can get more in depth here and there but thats the core of it. It gives a lot of insight in Japanese culture and perspective on religion and spirituality. Its not super philosophical or as genre breaking as AoT. Has about the same level of depth as some marvel shows/movies since its aimed for teenage boys

I like Polnareff a lot because he's such a unique character relative to what we're used to see in anime. He's a hothead that ticks some of the usual criterias commonly found in these types of characters, like being vulgar, loving women a little too much and being ridiculously prideful. But there's a stark difference in execution which makes him more of a multi-dimensional character. Yes he tends to show too much interest in woman, but most of the time it's more about him being hopelessly romantic than him being a pervert. Despite being vulgar in the way he speaks and acts at times, he's also flamboyant and classy when it comes to hygiene and looks. He likes to take care of his hair, likes to have clean bathrooms,... Yes he is chauvinistic and is prideful to a fault but that's also what gives him this sense of chivalry and honor that sets him appart in the group. Throughout the part he's the one who shows the most concern for others and it gives his character a heroic undertone. He comes across as the modern version of a musketeer.

Ok what yall have said is very convincing though because even though you confirmed it's essentially just the main characters vs adversaries as I feared it was, in its simplicity it's somehow still so highly regarded, which says a lot. Honestly I think that was all I needed, I actually wanna give it a proper shot now. It's one of the big three after all And what tf are some of you so salty for lol I was explicitly asking for someone to sell it to me because I wanted to WANT to watch it, but didn't have a good reason to. I just described what I thought the show might be like based on the first episode and yall got so defensive haha there's nothing wrong with a show being centered around fights if the characters and fights are good

The fanbase recommends you watch at least till the end of Soul Society arc which ends at episode 64 i think. Soul Society arc is a classic and one of its best arcs. Just watch the soul society arc and if it still doesn’t hook you, drop the show. Also, use a filler guide since almost half the show is filler

it's complex if you dive into the themes, i love how it uses the fighting as a way of communicating the characters ideals, the power system fully leans into every characters idealogy and ichigo is my favourite mc and also my favourite example of self actualisation. but heck if you just want a cool aura fight drippy anime it can absolutely be that as a surface level watch/experience as well. i learn something new on every reread/watch and theres so many cool easter eggs and details that i'm still discovering! i absolutely love this show it means so much to me. the plot twists are also really well done if you've never been spoiled on it before

it doesn't matter if Iggy is doing anything. his flippant attitude and how he chews gum, and how he tears hair out and farts in faces, he started off strong character wise. that is why he's so loved. they hyped him up to be this strong user and helicopter'd him in and then he has this kind of attitude, i love it. his comedic timing of leaving before shit goes down and returning when it's wrapping up or over is unmatched
